Okay so you are new to the board.

Still trying to find your way around. Perhaps you have already registered, or you might simply be viewing as a guest.

Either way, we hope the following items will be a help for you as you get to know what is here and what isn't.

First of all - the board has its own Help files. They are pretty good, cover many of the most FAQ's - including what to do if your password isn't recognised - and cover the following issues:

# Registration benefits
How to register and the added benefits of being a registered member.
# Cookies and cookie usage
The benefits of using cookies and how to remove cookies set by this board.
# Recovering lost or forgotten passwords
How to reset your password if you've forgotton it.
# Your Control Panel
Editing contact information, personal information, avatars, signatures, board settings, languages and style choices.
# Email Notification of new messages
How to get emailed when a new reply is added to a topic.
# Your Personal Messenger
How to send personal messages, edit your messenger folders and archive stored messages.
# Contacting the moderating team
Where to find a list of the board moderators and administrators.
# Viewing members profile information
How to view members contact information.
# Searching Topics and Posts
How to use the search feature.
# Logging in and out
How to log in and out from the board and how to remain anonymous and not be shown on the active users list.

You can get to the help files by clicking on the link as shown in the picture below.

This gives you your current board details - quite useful if you want some upto date information about what is happening.

You get a view something like this:

If you want to stay hidden when online - you can hide you status when you log in (if you have your settings to keep you logged in you will need to log out and then back in again).

The box to tick is on the log in screen as illustrated in the picture below.

If you want to center your signature, you need a simple piece of code.

Add the code (the bits in [ ] with your signature in between them.

An important note - to stop the board thinking these commands have to be activated I've had to put spaces in between some of the words and [ ] /
Please make sure you type this in without ANY spaces between the codes highlighted in orange otherwise it will not work.

[ align= center ]YOUR SIGNATURE[ / align]

Invisionfree is in the process of a board upgrade themselves. That means one or two little areas on this board might have already been disabled by them.

The main one which we know is often used is the View New Posts option (top right of board).

Now there is an alternative to this. 'Today's active topics'
This is found between the Daisy Chain section of the board and the Board Statistics.

The moderating team | Today's active topics | Today's top 10 posters | Overall top 10 posters

So - if something isn't quite working for you - first of all, let us know if it is a real problem and we'll see if something can be done - but everyone please - what we are asking for most of all is patience as we settle in ourselves and begin to get the place how we all want it to look and feel.

Any questions or comments, please leave them here or you can use the PM or email us.

We have now enabled the Personal Photo aspect of the board.
To do this, you can go to your control panel, and in the Personal Profile section, the last option is Change Personal Photo.

You can use a photo from online or one on your computer.

The only restriction is size.

The image can't be more than 400 pixels by 250 pixels and 35 Kb.

I have uploaded a picture which if you click to view my profile (Click on my username) will show up as an example.

Another feature some of you might be interested in: We can change a username on the board without you having to completely re-register again.

This allows you to keep all your settings and post counts as they were - but a new username should you wish to confuse us all!
