It seems I can't vote being outside the UK. I voted and voted and voted in all the categories and in the end I just got a message saying "Service Unavailable"
But please, feel free to vote on my behalf! I voted for SL and Robson Green, Wire in the Blood, Ladette to Lady (love it, it's so funny - we get it on BBC Prime on the satellite network) - for the rest you can pick and choose as you like!

I'm in the U.S. and was able to vote just fine. Maybe the site went down briefly while you were on it?

Thank you,Lisa289,for notifying us about the vote!
I'm not in UK too but there wasn't a problem to vote.

Jeanna - July 9, 2007 07:26 PM (GMT)
Cool! Och, I'd love to see her win that. Her fans will make a good showing voting often I am sure. <G> I voted from here in the states with no problem.

microsofty - July 9, 2007 08:01 PM (GMT)
In that case, I'll try again! :D

Lizi - July 10, 2007 09:33 AM (GMT)
Ive voted! :D Yay Simone! :D
I thought u could only vote once? can u vote more than once?

I love MJNet - July 10, 2007 09:38 AM (GMT)
I would advise against voting too often! There will be tracking going on for multiple block voting - so our advice is if you are going to vote, just keep it to a couple of times at most - and then leave a good gap before doing it again. Otherwise it is likely all votes they suspect might be discounted.

After some very recent events with "fixed" events - albeit over the phone lines, companies are very wary right now about how they run these things and they will be scrutinised far more than the past.

Lizi - July 10, 2007 09:40 AM (GMT)
I agree ILMJNet, im sure on the NTA website it says that multiple votes will be disqualified or somethin like that.

destiny_marie - July 10, 2007 11:41 AM (GMT)
Yeah but it asks for your email address.....obviously if you put the same one in each time they know its multiple voting......i have three email addresses so how are they too know that all three are linked to the same person??

I love MJNet - July 10, 2007 11:57 AM (GMT)
Each time you log online you have an ISP number - Now while ISP's can be shared (AoHell accounts have problems with this) they will soon spot votes coming in rapid succession from the same ISP and then discount them.

surely though you could have multiple members of a family who use the same computer and who all want to vote individually? I cant see how itv could discriminate against those families who only have one computer?

microsofty - July 11, 2007 08:41 AM (GMT)
I'm not taking any chances. I'll rather vote once and have that vote count than have multiple votings that all get discounted!

Xenaclark - July 16, 2007 10:54 PM (GMT)
I have only voted once, but I may vote tomorrow with a different email address. I don't know yet.

I agree, and they will allow to some degree - which is why we suggest you take time between voting if you decide to either vote more than once, or if you have someone else sharing a computer.
Obviously they make some exception to computers running off networks like schools/colleges and workplaces as well - but again, if blocks of votes all come in at once suddenly, they are likely to investigate and discount.
