Songs that remind you of them..aww
just wondering are there any particular songs that remind you of them..haha Celine Dions I drove all night reminds me of them because someone did an awesome video of it when nikki escaps to go to helens and its just brilliant!

The love story of Helen & Nikki is such an emotional roller coaster filled with incredible highs, devastating lows, euphoria, fear, jealousy, revenge, heart ache, melancholy, etc, etc, and of course the love of soul mates that gives us that happy ending.
With all that emotion going on it leaves a wealth of songs that remind me of Nikki & Helen. Some songs remind me of specific scenes, others remind me of the emotions that were being experienced and some even capture the theme of the Helen & Nikki story.

For starters, all of the songs that OWH has used in her music videos remind me of Bad Girls, not just for the obvious reason that they feature our lovely ladies, but they all have some hint of an emotion/theme that was happening at the time.
My Favourite is Forbidden Love by Madonna because it relates well to the Nikki/Helen love story. A close second is 8th World Wonder because it's a catchy tune & is really about Helen's feelings for Nikki. I've got the guitar chords for it now so I play along with the music video and it's a really nice song to play/sing to.

I can see this thread getting quite long as I'll just have to post some more lyrics .. more to follow...

This next one reminds me of the times Nikki is crying because they are either not together or Helen is not there, but particularly when she's lying on her bed crying facing the wall in series 3. This song is filled with such emotion it always raises the hairs on the back of my neck, and I must admit it has brought tears to my eyes more than once whilst listening to it. I'm learning the guitar version, but it doesn't have the same impact as with the piano / violins.

You gotta experience the lows to fully appreciate the highs...

there is a music video to this song, BUT it's a Shaz & Denny video... Agghhh...
Someone's gotta do a Helen/Nikki vid to this song!!! I can see it in my head but I don't have the right computer stufft/talent to do make it.

Ohhh... I love this game. What songs remind me of Helen and Nikki? I have a CD of songs that I play that is my N&H Soundtrack. Some of the songs you guys have already mentioned. Excellent choices there Very Happy

1. Stop - Jamelia
starts out with the lyric, "All that I had is all that you give me.

2. Come Along - Titiyo
chorus goes like this "come along now, come along with me
come along now, come along and you'll see
What's it like to be free"
I think this makes a good H&N song because Helen could be telling that to Nikki about leaving prison or Nikki could be telling Helen to let go of her past and her old sexual identity.

3. Rules - Shakira (great music video by OWH - 'nuff said)

5. Forbidden Love - Madonna (thanks again to OWH for making this song even more perfect with her edit)

OK, this is a male/female duet but a great song by Elton John and Tim Rice. My favorite lines are,

Nice pop song that apparently plays during S3Ep16

Sweet song that plaintively says, "I Want you to be my love.
Cause I want you." Applies to both characters in this case.

10. Turn - Travis another song that played on the show S2Ep12

11. All I Want - Susie Suh
"Do you know? It doesn't change.
The way I feel about you at the end of the day.
Cause I know, that all I want is what you've got"
I usually take this song from Helen's perspective.

12. Rome Wasn't Built in a Day - Morcheeba
This is one of my favorite Helen and Nikki songs. Its uptempo and optimistic and the lead singer has an interesting voice.
beginning lyrics, "You and Me were meant to be
Walking free in harmony
One fine day we'll fly away
Don't you know that Rome wasn't built in a day."
Def a song that works if you think about Helen working on Nikki's appeal.

13. Kinda Nice, I Like it - The Pretenders
a disclaimer that all the lyrics don't perfectly fit, but this song has a sexy beat and lyrics like,
"You showed me things, I never tried
You got a hold, you wouldn't let go...
Everything about us looks wrong
but I swear it feels right"

14. Be Be Your Love - Rachael Yamagata

15. Petrified - Taboo Cast Recording
I love musicals because they have so many songs that grab you and embody so many emotions. This song has lots of interpretations but I like to apply it to the Helen and Nikki situation and imagine Nikki is singing it about Helen's fears about their relationship and coming out.

16. You'd be Surprised - Idina Menzel
Actually this song inspired me because of fanfic. The stories that don't have Helen getting the girl at the end of S3Ep16, but taking some time to find their way back to each other. IMO, because they inevitably would...without a doubt.

18. I Will Love You - Fisher

Wow, sorry for the long post. I don't have a home compiled CD, but there is one CD that has several songs that I relate to the low points of the Nikki/Helen story and thats the Baby Animals self titled album. The lead singer Suze DeMarchi was such a hot rock chick - too bad their second album was no where near as good and they've now disbanded. ooh, that is a good one.
I'd say that was almost on a parr with the Toni Braxton song Unbreak my heart that OWH did the music video on. I say 'almost' because IMO it's more fitting to have a female singing about our ladies, but hey that's just me.

Well, that song kept hauntin' me. So, after finally viewing the last two episodes of Series 3 last night, to commemorate the occasion, I stayed up till 3 a.m. and spliced together some clips with music. This is only the second vid I've attempted, nothing fancy, just playin' <G>

No, you don't. You should just be able to dl it...however I've found that sometimes it depends on which browser you use and Internet Explorer seems to work fine for me. G 2 rank
