Unlikely Lovers

Part One

It was a drizzly London morning as Helen made her way though the traffic to get to her restaurant she has owned for a year called The Sassy Scot. Helen has put her heart into Sassy for a year now and the hard work is starting to pay off. The only bad thing about it in Sean’s mind is that it is next to a lesbian night club; which Helen and the owner likes to tease one another. They seem to do the littlest of things to poke fun at each other. The night club owner is a taller dark haired woman who Helen just loves to annoy whenever possible she likes to get her all frustrated. Helen thinks she looks cute all frazzled and ruffled. Helen navigates her way though traffic and turns into the back ally behind the restaurant and parks her car. It is Wednesday and Helen knows that the club gets deliveries on Wednesday mornings. Helen parks her black convertible Jag and starts walking to the back door of the restaurant when she hears “hey, can you move your car I am expecting a delivery soon.” Helen stops walking turns around and raises one eye brow and says “I can but I don’t want to I want to watch you work it makes my morning” she smiles as she opens the door to the restaurant. Nikki, who is the club owner, said “I know she does that just too irritate me and I don’t know why.”

A young man walks up behind Nikki and says “she is not intimated by you at all now is she and I think she likes to get you all frustrated.”

“No she is not intimated by me at all” Nikki said with an irritated tone.

“You have to admit she has a hot little body” the young man said with a devilish grin.

“That she does” Nikki said with a smile as she glances at the young man.

“Now she could be your miss right Nikki; the way you two flirt back and forth the sexual tension is definitely there no question.”

Nikki with a crinkle forehead “sexual tension I don’t think so besides she’s straight and has a boyfriend.”

“All of this could just be four play for the both of you; now how long have the two of you been flirting this way with one another for over a year?” He smiled knowing the answer to the question.

“Ever since she took over the restaurant; now leave me alone and take care of the delivery please” she said in an irritated tone.

Helen walks into the restaurant through the back door when Karen said “you parked your car in her way again didn’t you. Don’t you think that’s getting a little old? Why do you do that anyway?”

“No, I don’t think it’s getting old, it has turned into a tradition. Besides I like to see her all frustrated she looks so damn cute.”

“If I didn’t know any better and you weren’t with Sean I would think that your flirting with her.”

Helen’s attitude changed from fun and games to irritated and annoyed. Helen glanced out of her office door and saw Sean standing in the lobby area. He started to walk towards her office which Karen felt the tension in Helen and said “if you need help just let me know” as she touched Helen’s arm and left the office.

“What in the hell are you doing here Sean?”

“We need to talk” he said.

Helen glances out of her office window and saw Nikki taking in boxes that had just been delivered. She remembered the time when Sean and her first started to have problems. They were walking up to the back door of the restaurant after having one hell of a fight about her restaurant and how it took so much of her time away from him. When they were walking pass the clubs back door Helen twisted her ankle on a stone and almost fell. Nikki came from the back door to see if she was alright. Nikki put her arms around Helen to help her regain her balance. All Sean said was “well are you going or not.” Helen who is still in Nikki’s arms turns to Nikki and said “I think I deserve better than this don’t I.” Nikki looked directly into Helen’s eyes “yes you do.”

Helen turns back to Sean and said “I said all I have to say on the matter and the matter is closed.” Helen started to feel closed in and trapped and didn’t want the staff to hear so she goes out the back door which Sean follows.

“I am not done with you Helen.”

“But I am done with you Sean now leave me alone please.”

“You don’t expect me to just leave after investing two years into you. You owe me” as he grabs her arm.

“OUCH! Sean you’re hurting me. Now let me go.”

“I have only just began to hurt you Helen” as he start to raise his hand. He heard a noise coming form the fire escape above the restaurant. When he looked up there was a Nikki smoking a cigarette and then three men came out of the club and headed for Sean. He decided to take Helen’s advice and leave. As Sean left he looked at the three men and Nikki. The three men looked up at Nikki who waved them to go back inside. She put out her cigarette and went back inside as well. Helen walks slowly and shakingly back inside the restaurant.

Helen walked back into her office and closed the door. She sat at her desk for what seemed like hours. The question that kept running though her mind was “why did she do that? Why did she help me?” It has been along time since Sean had that look in his eyes. He had that look the first time he hit her. That was the day she decided to take her life in her own hands. She opened her own restaurant. Something she has always wanted to do. She focused all her attention and energy on it and less and less on Sean. She told him a few nights before that she doesn’t love him and wanted to end their two year relationship. Helen felt relieved that she made it through the confrontation without a scratch which was not always the case. Sean has only hit her couple of times but to Helen once was one too many times for her. She wanted to show him that she did not need him but it was actually him that needed her. Helen went about her business taking care of the restaurant. Before going home Helen decided to have a drink and she wanted something stronger than the wine they served at the restaurant. So she walked next door to the club. She walked in, it was not at all how she had pictured it. It was classy with charm. Helen was pleasantly surprised. She walked up to the bar and sat down. The bartender came over to take her order; when Nikki put her hand on his shoulder and said “I will handle this one.” She looks at Helen “what can I get you?”
“A Cosmopolitan pleases” Helen said bashfully. Helen watched as she made the drink. Helen was memorized as she made the bottles dance with such ease.

“Here’s your Cosmo”

“How much do I owe you?”

“It’s on me” she said as one of the staff whispered in her ear. “Will you excuse me?”

Helen finishes her drink and then heads for home and to finally face Sean. She was dreading going home to Sean. She would much rather stay at the restaurant if she could rather than going home. Home was not home it was like a prison and she was serving a life sentence. When she got home she notices that Sean had taken all his belongings and moved out. Which Helen said out loud “thank god finally.”

Part 2


The back door of the club swung open as Nikki got everything sorted for her weekly delivery. She also waited for Helen to park her car in the way she had done every Wednesday for the past nine months. Nikki was putting out her cigarette when Helen walked past her. Nikki looked around and noticed Helen had parked her car a little farther down the ally. As Helen walked pasted she said “good morning.” A stun Nikki replied “good morning. You’re not parking in your usual parking place.” Which Helen turns around raised her eye brow and smiles “no I am not” then proceeded to walk into the back door of Sassy.

It was afternoon and the restaurant was completely packed and in complete chaos as well. Nikki walked in wanting to let Helen know she could move her car. When she notices Helen was dealing with a difficult customer. She watched Helen as she handle the raging man screaming at her with grace and dignity. She calmly got him to relax and calm down. She was on her way to the office when she passed Nikki in the lobby. Helen had an OH MY GOD NOW WHAT expression on her face and asked “can I help you with something?” Which Nikki replied “no I just wanted to thank you and you can move your car if you ever get a chance.” A waitress interrupts their conversation by handing Helen a plate and whispers in her ear which Helen closed her eyes and looks towards the ceiling “shit” and shakes her head. She looks at Nikki who finishes her sentence “you’re absolutely busy I will let you get back to work I just wanted to say thank you.” Helen smiles and handed the plate to Nikki “here lunch is on me.” A loud crash is heard from the kitchen. “Damn now what” Nikki smiles “I will have a cosmo with your name on it if you need it tonight.” Helen smiles “I just might take you up on it.” Nikki smiles as she leaves the restaurant.

The long late nights have become habit for Helen as the restaurant becomes more and more popular it was 1:30 a.m. and Helen was exhausted. She gathered up her belonging and headed for the back door to her car. She was walking to her car when she heard a noise behind her. She turned to see what it was but she did not see anything. She started to walk toward her car at a hasten pace. All of a sudden she felt someone grab her and she screamed. She was pushed face first into the brick wall of the building and than slammed up against her car. There were two men. One hit her across the face as the other was reaching for her purse. Helen was dazed and started to fight back. The man hit her again in the face as Helen struggled to get free. On the fire escape Nikki was smoking and saw what was going on. She ran inside the building and down the stairs. She grabbed a wooden bat as she went out the back door. Josh and another male employee saw Nikki and followed her out. Nikki had the bat ready to take a swing at one of the assailants when Josh and David came out to help. David said “I see these two gents need a lesson on how to treat a lady.” The two strangers ran off with David in hot pursuit. Nikki turned to Josh “help me get her up stairs please.” Josh gently picked Helen up in his arms and carried her inside following Nikki up the stairs.

The sound of loud music and thumping on the walls awakens Helen. She puts her hand to her painful and swollen face and softly moans in discomfort. She slowly opens her eye and surveys her surroundings which are unfamiliar. She starts to remember bits and pieces of what had happened and starts to panic not knowing where she is. She jumps when she felt a hand touch her. She jumps in self-defense and hears a calm and soothing voice “you’re ok Helen and your safe”. She turns to see who was speaking. Helen relaxes when she recognizes Nikki and remembers that it was Nikki who had come to help her. Nikki continues to say “you’re at my flat and you’re safe here.”

“Thank you” was all that Helen could utter.

Nikki hands Helen a glass of water “here is something for the pain. You took some pretty good blows.”

“I don’t know what I would have done if you had not been around.”

There was a long pause before Nikki answered “well the truth is I always watch out for you to make sure you get to your car safely when you work late. The alley is not safe late at night there have been at lease two attacks since I have owned the club for seven years.”

“Really you watch me walk to my car? I never see you.”

“I watch from the fire escape.”

“You were the one I saw up there last night before everything went black.”

There was a loud thud on the wall and the music has gotten even louder. Helen looked around “what is all that noise?”

“That would be your morning crew. 5a.m. right on time as usual. My flat is above your restaurant.”

Helen searches around “here it is” as she picks up her purse and pulls out her mobile and makes a call. The music turns off. “Who is this” Helen asked. “Joe this is Helen can you guys please keep it down. Thank you”
She closes her mobile “sorry about that I had no idea. No wonder you always look so tired. When do you sleep? I will make sure it does not happen anymore.” Helen then notice that she was in Nikki’s bed and she had a questioning look on her face.

Nikki laughs “I slept in the chair over there.”

“I am so sorry that I rob you of your bed and of your sleep or better yet of what little sleep you do get. How can I make it up to you and say thank you.” That was when the loud music started up again and Helen got an annoyed look on her swollen face and picked up her mobile “Joe if I hear that damn music one more time I will be looking for a new morning crew do I make my self clear. No music or loud noise in the morning.” She dials another number “Karen I just want to let you know that I won’t be in today.” Helen looks at her face in the mirror on the wall and sees her swollen face shaking her head “DAMN!!! It might be a couple of days. I got mugged on the way to my car last night. No, no I am alright. Nikki from the club next store helped me. I will keep in touch. Call me if there are any problems.” Helen laid her head back on the pillow. Nikki puts a cold compress on Helen’s face “this will help with the swelling and sooth the pain.” Helen drifts back off to sleep with the feeling of being safe and secure under Nikki’s watchful eyes.

Part 3


It was a Friday night and the club was crowded as usual. Just the way Nikki likes to see it. There was a young pretty blond woman that was trying to make small talk with Nikki. Nikki was keeping a watchful eye on the crowded when she saw a woman with short dark hair walking through the crowded. She was wearing a short black dress with a low cut top to show her cleavage in all the right places and a slit high up the right thigh. Nikki could not keep her eyes off this lovely creature. Nikki could no longer hear what the young blond was saying; she was drawn to the temptress in the black dress. It has been awhile since anyone had captivated Nikki’s attention in this way. Nikki found herself walking towards her. She could not control herself anymore. When she finally made her way through the crowd she tapped the woman softly on her delicate exposed shoulder. Nikki’s heart skipped a beat when the woman turned around and noticed it was Helen. Helen smiled sweetly at Nikki who chokes as she asked “can I buy you a drink?” Helen smiled with a twinkle in her eye “yes if you can remember what it is.” Nikki laughs as she said “cosmo, right. Here follow me to the bar.” Nikki turns to head back to the bar when she feels Helen slip her hand into hers. Nikki’s pulse races as they walk back to the bar hand in hand. Nikki was making Helen’s drink when Helen said “I love to watch you make my drinks, it’s almost like you are making the bottles dance in your hands.” Nikki sheepishly grins at Helen “You look like your feeling much better” and without thinking she adds “you look gorgeous tonight.” Nikki could not believe she said that out loud she was thinking that in her head as she hands Helen her drink. Helen with a wicked grin said “if you can make bottles dance like that, I wonder how you would dance with me. What does a woman have to do to get you to dance with her?” Nikki watched as Helen took a seductive drink from her glass. Nikki’s heart was pounding in her chest as she watched Helen spin the ice with her finger tips and than suck the wetness off than took a sip from her glass. The next thing Nikki saw was a tall blond standing next to Helen asking if she was ready to go to the party. Helen nodded yes than turned her attention back to Nikki. “Nikki, I have to go, but I wanted to say hello before I joined the boring birthday party.” Helen picks up her drink and places her hand on Nikki’s hand “I gotta go I will see you again real soon, ya.” Nikki could not keep her eyes off Helen as she walked to the back of the club. Nikki found herself wanting Helen.

At some tables in the back of the club Helen was sitting with some of her friends. It was Claire’s birthday and she wanted to celebrate it with some friends. Helen and Claire had been friends since they were roommates at the university. Yvonne was Claire friends and she was the one who pick the club Serenity; which is Nikki’s club. Yvonne and Nikki had been friend since she first opened the club. Helen was laughing and talking about her and Claire’s wild days at the university. The drinks and laughter were flowing free. Yvonne stood up and said “the next round is on me; I will be right back with the drinks.” She walked up to the bar and notices that Nikki had a mesmerized gaze on Helen. She said to Nikki “so Nikki it has been along time since you and Trish split up and I can’t help but notice that you can’t keep your eyes off a certain someone. I think you’re going to have your hands full with that feisty Scott” Yvonne said as she notices Nikki can’t keep her eyes off Helen longer than two seconds. Yvonne continues the teasing before saying “you better watch yourself or she’ll catch you staring and we would not want that or would we.” Yvonne walks back to the tables laughing the whole way.

The night was filled with stories of the old days, laughter, drinks and lots of dancing. Helen was enjoying herself for the first time in along time. She felt free especially not having Sean to hold her back. She was dancing with whoever she wanted to and drank as much as she wanted. While dancing she just let her body go free which Nikki enjoyed watching very much. The night unfortunately had to come to and end and so did the fun for the night. Claire’s party was the last to leave the club. Helen was walking out of the club with Yvonne and Karen when she notices she forgot her purse. She walked back inside the club to retrieve it when Nikki came up to clean off their tables they were using.

She said “it looked like you had a good time tonight.”
Helen replied “yes I did. It has been awhile since I had let my hair down and shake things up.”

Nikki had a smirk on her face trying to control her smile. “Well you really shook things up tonight.”

“Yes I did but you know what would have made this night the perfect evening”

Nikki looked puzzled “what would that be” she asked.

Helen stepped closer to Nikki “if I had gotten you to dance with me”; than planted a passionate kiss on Nikki that made her heart skip a beat then Helen slowly walks away and out the door.

Nikki stood still unable to speak when crystal, the bartender, said “Nikki you can come back to the good earth anytime. The way you were watching that one all night I am surprised she walking out the front door and not up your stairs.”

Nikki smiled a sheepishly, almost childlike smile “I would not mind that either but she is the owner of the restaurant next door.”

Crystal puts one hand on her hip “so what!” The way she was flirting with you and I think she was watching you almost as much as you watched her. So what are you going to do about it?”

Nikki was slow in her reply as she started to clean up “I don’t know I guess I will see if she feels the same without the liquid courage.



It was the usual Saturday traffic but with Helen’s hangover the horns of the cars seemed louder than normal. She parked her car and dragged herself into the backdoor of the restaurant. The kitchen staffs seem to be extremely loud as they prepared for the day. There was a loud bang as two pots collided together in the stove. Helen looked up painfully at the two chefs “can we go over today’s specials in my office where it is nice and quiet.” Nikki is in the alley smoking a cigarette and glances into Helen’s office window. She sees Helen sitting at her desk holding her head in her hands in pain. Nikki smiles as she puts out her cigarette and walks back inside. Karen who was in better shape then Helen was getting ready for the lunch rush when she notices Nikki standing in the lobby.

“Hello Nikki are you here for lunch?” She cracks a big smile “or is there something else you want that is not on the menu.”

Nikki smiles “I am looking for Helen.”

Karen thought to herself “I beat you are.” Then she said “here follow me Helen is in the office, almost alive I think after last night.” Karen knocks on the door as she opens it. Helen has her head down on the desk. With her head still down and not even looking up

“Karen I think I am going to die. Damn how much did I drank last night whatever it was it was too much.

Karen chuckles “you have a visitor” than closes the door as she leaves.

Helen lifts her head and looks up to see Nikki standing there. Nikki softly said “I came over to see how you are doing but I can see.” Helen stood up very slowly as her head was spinning and walks round her desk. She sits on the edge of the desk just in front of Nikki. Nikki somberly thought to herself “I don’t think she remembers kissing me last night. I don’t think she even remembers much about last night.” Helen gazes into Nikki’s eyes as she holds her hand to her head and softly said “I still owe you for helping me that night. I tell you what I will make you dinner at my flat where there won’t be any distractions.” She smiles half hardily “don’t worry I am a chef so I can cook.” Helen gazes into Nikki’s brown eyes “I still want that dance. I was disappointed that I didn’t get it; so I had to settle for a kiss” she said with a mischievous grin. There was a knock at the door. It was Zandra one of the cooks. “Sorry for the intrusion but Helen we need you in the kitchen. There is a small problem.” Helen looked at Zandra with a disgruntled gaze “ok I will be there in a minute.” She turns back to Nikki “are you free Monday?” I am not letting you leave without setting a date.” Nikki flashed a smile Monday will be fine. What time?” Helen said with a crooked smile “6:30 pm sound good for you? Nikki innocently smiles “yes that will be perfect” as they both walked out of Helen’s office. Helen walked passed Karen “I am taking Monday evening off. I have a date” which Karen joking replies “I am surprise your waiting until Monday.”


The flat was immaculate Helen wanted everything to be perfect. She had soft highly sexual love songs playing in the background and candlelight strategically placed around the room; she wanted the mood to be just right. She wanted this to be a special night with Nikki. She wants to be more than just friends with Nikki and had felt this way for a long time something she was feeling even when she was with Sean. There was just something Nikki touches deep in her soul that no one has ever gotten close to. She was nervous she has never tried to seduce a woman before and she hopes Nikki feels the same way. She finished putting the touches on dinner and setting the table which was illuminated by two candlesticks and the table setting was set close together with a bottle of red wine in the center. Helen glances at her watch “Nikki should be here soon” she takes one finale glance around the room to make sure it is perfect.


The light was on over the door and Nikki nervously gazes at it not knowing what the night or Helen had in store for her. She slowly walked up to the door. She took a deep breath as she apprehensively knocks on the door. Helen opens the door wearing a red low cut spaghetti strap dress with a slight slit up her right leg revealing shapely legs as she leads Nikki into the living room. The room was illuminated by candlelight placed around the room and sound of soft highly songs was playing. Helen offered Nikki a glass of wine which she accepted with a smile and an unconscious wink. They both sat nervously on the couch but both trying desperately to conceal it form each other. They sat there making small talk and trying to settle the nerves with wine when the timer went off in the kitchen. Helen said “good that sounds dinner is done.” Helen took Nikki by the hand and led her into the kitchen. The candle softly glowing accentuated the coziness of the table. The affect of the wine was starting to take hold as Helen started to eat her food very seductively. Nikki was watching as she slowly placed the food on her tongue and licked her lips. Nikki found herself wanting to take a bite from Helen’s mouth. Nikki moved closer to her almost taking a bite when she pulls herself back and reach for the bottle of wine instead. As they ate dinner they finished their second bottle of wine.

Nikki was starting to have overwhelming feelings taking over her body. Nikki put her wine glass down and turns to face Helen once more and that was when Helen starts to kiss her extremely passionately. Their hands were exploring each others curves. Helen’s hand started to go up Nikki’s shirt. Helen thought to herself “her skin feels so soft” she wanted to feel more and desired more. She slowly moved her hand toward Nikki’s breast. Nikki’s body was responding to Helen’s every touch. Then for some unknown reason Nikki jumps back and glances at Helen and says “I need to go.” She stands up to leave. Helen with a confused and dazed look says “do you have to leave right now?” Nikki with urgencies said “yes.” Helen stands and walks Nikki to the door. Nikki gives her a hug and said “thank you for a wonderful dinner and night” as she steps out the door. Helen closes the door after watching Nikki walk down the steps to her car. She said to herself as she stairs at the door “damn what went wrong?”


The next day and the rest of the week Helen focuses on work. Karen knows Helen all to well when she asked “Helen what happened on Monday?”

Helen glances up at her “I don’t know it was going well. We were kissing and what not you know what I mean.”

Karen had a puzzled expression on her face “”what not? Wait don’t tell me I don’t want to know. Just tell me what happen.”

Helen put her hands to her forehead “I really don’t know we were kiss and she just stopped and said she had to go.”

Karen sat in the chair in front of Helen’s desk “have you talked to her?”

“No I haven’t even seen her and I always see her in the alley. She didn’t even take in the deliveries on Wednesday Josh and the female bartender did. She has never done that before.” Helen placed her finger on her forehead in frustration. “Damn it Karen I have never been drawn to a person quite the way I am drawn to Nikki. What am I going to do?”

Karen pauses for a moment “maybe you came on to strong?”

Helen sternly looked at her “maybe she’s not interested.”

Karen laughs “honey not interested please the heat you two have been putting out for the past nine months could warm a small city. Maybe she needs a little more of a push.”

Helen gets a wicked gaze in her eyes as she came up with an idea to give that little push.



Nikki is in the storeroom pulling out supplies for the night. She is cutting up the limes and lemons when Crystal comes up and said “how long are you going to keep hiding?”

Nikki sharply gazes at her “I am not hiding.”

Crystal with her hands on her hips “what happened on your date that scared you?”

Nikki paused and looked at her “that we were just kissing and damn can she kiss. It took my breath away and I wanted more…”

Crystal with her arms crossed in front of her “but what?”

Nikki looked down at the lemon and limes “she was straight until two months ago.”

Crystal started to laugh hysterically “girl she has been flirting with you for at least nine months that I know about.”

Nikki looked confused “what do you mean by that?”

Crystal puts he hand on Nikki’s shoulder “why do you think she has been parking in your way on Wednesdays. She does that because she can watch you from her office window. Josh saw her watching you on several occasions.” Crystal walks away laughing “that girl wants you in a real bad way and you go running scared.” She stops in the middle of the floor “you should be asking yourself what are you going to do to fix it and get her back.”

Part 4

It was a usual Friday night at the club. Nikki came down from her flat and the place was already hopping. Nikki surveyed the dance floor she saw Helen dancing with an alluring tall slender blonde-haired woman. It was one of her regulars. They were dancing close. Their bodies were rubbing against each other. The woman’s hands were on Helen’s hips and thighs. Nikki watches as the woman’s hands start to explore Helen’s body further. Her hand slowly moves to Helen’s ass and Nikki’s blood starts to boil. Crystal was watching Nikki’s reaction and says, “It looks like you waited to long someone else is moving in on your girl. So what are you going to do about it?” Nikki watches as they walked to a table in the back of the cub where it is dark.

Helen sits down feeling uneasy with her dance partner. Helen fumbles with her fingers and picks up her glass of wine. Helen peered at her and calmly said, “I have to let you know that I am interest in someone else and I am trying to make her jealous.”

The stranger grinned, “at least you’re honest. Is she here?”

Helen beamed “she is and I think she was watching us dance.”

The blonde-haired woman said with a wicked smile, “well I think we should really make her jealous.” She starts stroking Helen’s hair and kissing her neck. Helen was starting to feel uneasy when she whispered, “she will be here at any moment. Lord knows I would be.” She pulls back from Helen’s neck “if this woman does not come to her sense I will always be here.”

Helen sucks the bottom of her lip as she was whispering to her. Helen sheepishly said, “I can’t believe I am doing this. I have never done anything like this before.”

The blonde-haired woman said as she brushed her hand through Helen’s hair, “I hope she is worth it.”

Helen with a delighted look says, “Oh she is definitely worth it.”

Nikki was watching from across the bar at Helen. She felt her heart slowly ripping out of her chest. The sight of what she was seeing at the back of the club was tearing her apart. She wanted Helen in ways she has never wanted anyone before not even Trish her ex-lover of nine years. Helen had a hold on her, it scared the hell out of her, and now she might lose her. She felt angry and venerable all at the same time. Nikki has never needed anyone and now she found herself needing Helen. The more Nikki observed what was happening at the back of the club she found herself compelled to do something but she had no idea what to do. All she knew she had fallen in love with Helen and now there was someone else making a move on her.

Nikki could not take it any longer standing by and watching this woman making a move on Helen. She moved towards the back of the club to Helen. Helen turned to see if Nikki was watching and found Nikki standing in front of her table. “Helen can I talk to you for a moment” there was a sound of anger mixed in with jealousy in her voice. Josh notice Nikki body language and moved closer just in case things go ass up. She asks again “Helen can I talk to you privately please.” Helen did not want to make a scene or prolong the agony any longer, so she agreed and saw the agony and anguish in Nikki’s eyes.

Nikki took her up to her flat for privacy. Helen walks through the door saying “Nikki what do you want to talk to me about? You made it painfully clear the other night that you have no interest in me.” When she turns to face Nikki, she was by surprise when Nikki grabs her and kisses her with so much desire and passion it consumed her. Helen let all emotions go that been bottled up inside her. Nikki whispers “Helen I want you! I need you!” Helen was pleasantly surprise when Nikki started to unzip her dress. Passion and desire filled them both; when Josh knocked on the door “Nikki I am sorry to disturb you but you are needed down stairs.”

Nikki placed her head on Helen’s shoulder “I will be right down.”

Nikki gazes into Helen’s desired filled eyes and says “damn” as she slowly starts to zip Helen’s dress back up; Nikki whispers in the soft curves of Helen’s neck “well can I buy you a drink?”

Helen sweetly smiles “you still own me a dance.”

Nikki sheepishly gazes at her “what about your tall blond?”

Helen wickedly smiles as she wraps her arms around Nikki’s shoulders “well to tell you the truth I was hoping to make you jealous. I think my plan work what do you think?”

Nikki sheepishly gazes deep into Helen’s eyes “well it worked just fine, I really didn’t like the way she was touching your body at all. Now come on I will buy you that drink and defiantly give you a dance to remember on and off the dance floor.”

Helen responds with “oh really!”

Nikki holds out her hand to Helen who smiles lovingly as Nikki says, “yes really.”


Walking through the crowd holding hands as they walked towards the bar, Helen notices the blond woman watching her and Nikki. The blonde-haired woman raises her beer bottle in a cheers action and smiles at Helen. When they reached the bar, Nikki stops and gave two blonde-haired women a hug and a kiss. Nikki turns to Helen “this is Julie Johnson and Julie Saunders; we just call them the two Julies.” The two Julies smile and shake Helen’s hand. Nikki leans in and whispers in Helen’s ear “these are the only blonds I want to see you with tonight.” Helen laughs aloud “oh really you don’t say.” Nikki leans in and gives Helen a passionate and lingering kiss before getting behind the bar to give Crystal a hand in making drinks.

Nikki turns to the two Julies “can you keep an eye out for Helen for me tonight and keep her out of trouble.”

They just looked at each other and says “sure no problem. We will keep the vultures from swooping down on her.

Nikki grins and proceeds to make Helen’s drink. Nikki asked, “Helen what drink would you like?”

She said with a devilish smile “anything but a one night stand.”

Nikki with a wide grin responds, “That won’t be a problem for sure” as she makes Helen a Lovers Cocktail.


The two Julies entertained Helen and kept away any uninvited guests and the way Helen looked they had their work cut out for them. She looked absolutely stunning. Helen was watching Nikki working behind the bar, the women were flirting and Nikki generously flirted back while peering at Helen the whole time. The DJ played a slow song, as the evening was wining down. Nikki glanced over at Helen then tells Crystal “I have someone waiting patiently for a dance can you hold the bar for awhile.” Crystal was washing up the glasses and turned to face Nikki with a half-crooked smile “go on girl give your hearts desire a twirl on the dance floor.” Nikki walked up to the DJ booth and asked him to play something with a nasty beat. She strolled over to Helen and whispered in her ear “dance beautiful” as she held out her hand. Helen took her hand and followed her to the dance floor.

The song started to play it was TLC’s “Give It to Me While It’s Hot” as Nikki took her into her arms. The two Julies watched the other patrons’ expression as the lovebirds danced. The rhythm of the music pulsed through their bodies as they danced the lyrics was add to their erotic movements. Nikki turns Helen so her back was to her and pulls her in close. She slowly rhythmically rubs her hand on Helen’s thighs. Helen’s desire grows and the ach between her legs intensely grow with Nikki’s touch. Nikki slowly and torturously moves her hand into Helen’s inner thigh. Helen places her hands on top of Nikki’s than wants to raise them to her hot and fiery center. Helen lends her head back and moans as she feels herself get hot and wet at Nikki’s touch. Helen lays her head on Nikki’s shoulder and her hand is in Nikki’s hair as she starts to sing in her ear.

Helen turns to face Nikki as she wraps her arms around Nikki’s neck and buries her face in the soft curves of Nikki’s neck. Nikki gazes down at Helen and in a breathy voice “I think we need to finish this dance upstairs” as she kisses her passionately. Nikki took her by the hand and led her upstairs. Some of the patrons in the club who was watching the heat and passion radiating from Helen and Nikki secretly wish it were was going upstairs.

Nikki walks up to Helen and starts kissing her neck as she huskily says, “I want to make love to you ever since that night at your flat.”

Helen strokes Nikki’s hair “you mean the night you ran out on me.”

Nikki buried her face in Helen’s neck “yes but the reason I left was I knew one night would not be enough I would want you more. I want you more than I ever wanted any woman in my life.”

Helen pulls Nikki’s face so she could gaze directly into her amazing eyes “good than I have you right where I want you. Now you are not going to run out on me this time are you? I don’t think I can take it.” Nikki starts to kiss Helen passionately letting the desire flow through her as she reaches for her zipper on Helen’s dress. Helen whispers in her ear “what do I do? I have never been with a woman before.” Nikki says in between kisses “just relax and let your feelings and desire guide you. You were doing just fine the other night at your flat.” With that said Helen let herself go. Helen’s dress hits the floor and Helen got Nikki’s shirt open and exposes her full erect breast hidden behind her lacy bra; which aroused Helen even more than she could ever imagine.

As Nikki and Helen’s desire grows, they hear the door open. Suddenly they hear “what’s this Nikki you found a little play thing for the night?” Nikki turns to find her ex Trish standing there. Nikki said as she shook her head “Trish what are you doing here?” Nikki turns back to face Helen who has pick up her dress and put it back on. Helen furiously gazes at her with fiery and pain in her eyes “you made a fool out of me.” Helen slaps Nikki hard across her face. She runs out the door with tears streaming down her face. Nikki follows with her shirt still wide open and breast exposed. Helen finds her way to her car with Nikki close behind. As she is trying to leave, Nikki tries to stop her but Helen throws the car into drive and steps on the gas. Nikki just barely gets out of the way.

Nikki is standing in the ally watching the tail lights of the car of the woman she is in love with turning the corner. Nikki runs both of her hands through her hair as she was thinking how she was going to get Helen back when Trish walks up puts her arms around her.

Nikki gazes coldly at Trish “what in the hell are you doing here! What do you want?”

Trish was shocked at Nikki’s reaction “well babe I want you.”

Nikki coldly said “those days are long gone and besides I don’t want you” as she walk passed Trish.

Trish follows Nikki back up to her flat “what you want that little tart you had up here instead of me.”

That was when Nikki turned and said, “Yes I happen to be madly and passionately in love with her. She makes me feel things for her that I never felt for anyone. Remember Trish you were the one who left me you wanted your freedom and now you got it. You got what you want and now I want her. She is the best thing that has ever happen to me in my life. ”

That was when rage engulfs Trish and their fighting accelerated to new levels

Part 5


Helen was sitting at a red light when the words of the woman, who entered Nikki's flat, replayed in her head “what's this Nikki you found a little play thing for the night?” She wondered to herself “how could Nikki play with my emotions like this knowing I have never felt like this for a woman before.” Her emotion and thoughts were swimming in her head with all of the alcohol; she had been drunk. She strongly thought to herself “where the hell am I going? I'm not going to be played like this.” She turned the car around and headed back to Nikki's flat. She parked her car and almost hit Josh who was taking out the trash.

Helen glared at him as she said “sorry! Is Nikki still here?”

With a crooked smile, he said “no problem no harm done. Ya Nikki is up stairs go on up.” Josh smiled as he watches Helen go back into the club with furry in her eyes. Helen's blood was boiling as she heard that voice again almost laughing this time “what's this Nikki you found a little play thing for the night?” She did not even knock on the door she just barged in ready to have a go at Nikki and her little blonde friend. She looked around the room, and it was in such disarray. The wooden table had been turned upside down the lamp was laying on the floor. Nikki's favorite chair was across the room. It appeared to be a battlefield and Nikki was its casualty. Nikki was sitting on the edge of the bed staring defeated at the ground.

Nikki never glanced up when Helen walked in she just said softly “Trish don't you positively think you done enough damage tonight please just leave me alone.”

Helen walked slowly over to where she was sitting. She gazes down at Nikki “so her name was Trish was it?” Nikki swung her head up to see Helen standing there gazing down at her. Helen sat down next to her “what in the hell happened here Nikki.”

Nikki closed her eyes “Trish did not take it to well that I wanted to be with you and not her.”

Helen hesitantly asks, “Who is Trish and what is she to you?”

Nikki sighed “she my ex girlfriend. We were together for nine years; it ended a year and a half ago.” She pauses “Helen you were never a play a thing to me or quick shag. Actually, she was the quick shag; she would come and see me, and we would end up in bed. As you can see, she did not like the fact I turned her down especially because I have feelings for someone else. You came back the hurt and pain; I saw in your eyes I genuinely thought I would never see you again.”


Helen caresses Nikki's cheek; “I have a bit of a temper, and well you add alcohol in the mix and apparently my good judgment goes out the window if you hadn't noticed. I actually came back to give you a piece of my mind.” Helen thoughtfully holds Nikki's hand in hers “Nikki, I don't know what to think any more. This is all so new to me my life has been turned upside down, and I do not know which direction to go anymore. There is no sign posts for me to follow.”

Nikki gazes deep in to Helen's eyes, “I know Helen. I also know you feel the same for me as I do for you, but I get a strong feeling that you are holding back or hiding something from me.”

Helen gazes towards the floor “your right Nikki, I am holding something back. Let me start by saying my father is Presbyterian minister and sometime when I look at you, and I have feeling you stir inside of me. I can feel his disapproving gaze. He was never very supportive or loving when I was growing up. Regardless what I did I never could get is approval.”

Nikki kisses Helen's hands tenderly as she says, “I know what you are going through. This is all new to you. Have you ever been attracted to a woman before?” Helen shook her head no. “Helen I do understand what you are going though well not, having a minister for a father now that can compound problems greatly. Let me tell you my narrow-minded parents kicked me out of the house when I was sixteen when they found out I was a lesbian. I have not seen or heard from them since.

Helen was holding back all the tears from the escalating fear of what she was feeling for Nikki. The feeling of loving her and the thought she might have lost her. Nikki could see the confusion flash across Helen's expressive face as she was feeling them.

Nikki puts an arm around Helen pulling her in close to her “Helen just follow your heart it will tell you what to do. We will take things slowly until you are sure you want to be with me, there is no pressure.” She kisses Helen tenderly on the forehead. “Better get you home my place is too trashed to have you stay here tonight.”

Helen sighs and wraps her arms around Nikki “are you sure you're not too tired to take me home? You look exhausted. I can help you with this mess.”

Nikki stood up “no, I am not too tired to take you home, and I will clean up the mess tomorrow. I really do not want to deal with it right now. I just want to get you home. I think you have been through enough for one night don't you.”

Helen cracks a loving smile as she takes Nikki's hand. Nikki protectively places her arms around Helen as they walk out the door. Once outside, Nikki peers at Helen's car “nice parking job babe.”

Helen snickers “the other reason I came back is I obviously had too much to drink and should not be driving.”

Nikki giggles as she opens the door for Helen to get in the passenger seat. While Nikki was driving her home, she laid her head on Nikki's shoulder. Helen physically felt at peace for the first time in a long time. Helen felt no anxiety or dread when she is with Nikki as she had with Sean and the other men in her life. She felt undeniably whole but still unsure of what her future may bring. She always felt that there was something sorely missing in her life but never really knew what it was.

Nikki drove her safely home. Nikki walks her safely into her flat. Helen turns to Nikki and asks, “will you stay with me tonight? I will make us some coffee. I don't want you to go” Helen walks up and wraps her arms around Nikki.

Nikki sheepishly smiles “I would love to stay with you; but I did promise no pressure.”

“You won't be pressuring me, I asked you to stay” Helen says as she gazes into Nikki's amazing brown eyes. “I don't want to be alone tonight.”

Helen turns to head toward the kitchen “do you want sugar and milk in you coffee?”

Nikki leans up against the wall “no coffee for me if I drink it, I will be not able to sleep.”

Helen flashes a smile that melts Nikki's heart every time she sees it. She takes Nikki sensitively by the hand and leads her in to her bedroom. “You should get some good sleep tonight. My morning crew won't be waking you up” Helen said with a devilish grin.

Nikki thought to herself as she sat on the edge of the bed, “I won't be able to sleep tonight with you sleeping next to me either. Damn how I want you. This long night is going to kill me.”

Helen slips into the nearby bathroom to get ready to go to bed. She hands Nikki one of her T-shirts to ware to bed. Nikki undresses and puts on the T-shirt, and it is scented with Helen's sweet smell. Nikki holds it up to her nose and inhales deeply as she slips under the covers of the bed.

Helen walks out of the bathroom and peers at an angelic Nikki sleeping. She gently strokes Nikki's hair, caresses her cheek, and whispers to herself, “I guess I will have to sleep on the other side of the bed since someone is sleeping on my side.” Helen giggles softly as she walks to the other side of the bed. Sometime during the night Nikki woke up not knowing, where she was until she turns and sees Helen sleeping soundly beside her. Nikki gently strokes the hair from around her face and softly says “I am madly and passionately in love with you and have been since the first day I meet you.” She gently takes Helen's hand and falls asleep once more.

The sounds of the shower water running and the phone ringing starts to invade Nikki's slumber. She suddenly hears Helen say “shit” as she rushes to answer the phone. Nikki can hear Helen clearly talking softly on the telephone.

“No I want to spend some time with you, and I am not trying to brush you off.”

Helen paused and was silent as her body started to get all agitated and tight as she listens to the person on the other end of the phone. “No I am not back with Sean, and I don't intend to be. Look I will call you soon to let you know when I can sneak away and come up to see you ok.”

Helen stance started to get more agitated. She has a firm grip on the sink. Nikki is standing behind and has a sinking feeling in her stomach as her heart begins to break at the irrational idea of Helen is seeing someone. She hears Helen raise her pleasant voice.

“Look dad, I am not about to discuss my love life with you on the phone right now. I will call in a few days alright.”

Helen's voice softens “yes dad I know. I know that I am not getting any younger you don't need to keep reminding me.”

She paused again as her jaw tightens “I know that, and I don't want to spend the remainder of my life alone, but I refuse to spend it with someone I don't love. You and Sean are just going to have to accept that. I better go dad, I call you soon. Good bye.” Helen places the phone back on the receiver and turns around dressed only in a towel. She notices Nikki standing behind her, and she wrapped in a towel and still dripping from the shower.

Helen bashfully smiles “oh you're awake. Sorry I did not mean to wake you.”

Nikki sheepishly smiles “you didn't wake me. I have not slept that well in a long time.”

Thoughts and emotions are swimming in Nikki's soul and head. She starts to speak but no words would come. Then Helen adjusts her towel slightly and flashes Nikki a smile that eases her. “Helen I need to tell you how I feel about you. I am crazy about you.”

Helen walks up to Nikki and loving placing a hand on Nikki's cheek; she cheekily says “I genuinely think what you meant to say was ‘I am madly and passionately in love with you and have been since the first day I meet you' at least that is what you said last night.”

Nikki shook her head “you were a wake?”

Helen blushes slightly as she admits, “yes I was watching you sleep you looked so peaceful when you sleep, and you were so exhausted.”

Nikki moves closer to Helen “the worst part about last night was the thought that I might have lost you. That thought was doing my head in.” Nikki's eyes got watery as she spoke.

Helen closes the remaining gap between them and cupping Nikki's face with both of her hands, “I got feelings for you that I can't explain. You make me feel things I never felt before.” She kisses Nikki passionately, lets her guards down, and lets Nikki into her soul. “Now where were we before we were so rudely interrupted by your ex?”

Nikki slowly removes Helen's towel revealing her curvaceous and beautiful body and Helen unties Nikki's robe. Nikki runs her finger on Helen's neck and down toward her breast as she leads in for a passionate kiss. Helen pulls away from Nikki saying “shit!” Nikki says with a stunned expression, “I never got that kind of an emotional response from one of my kisses before.” Helen turns to her “it's nothing like that sweetheart. I have to go in to Sassy this morning. Karen won't be in today so I have to be there. She gazes at Nikki longingly “I also have to sample some new entrees we are adding to our menu. Maybe you can come over for dinner before you start to work and help me.” Nikki flashes Helen a heart-melting smile as she brushes Helen's hair back “That's the best offer I have had since you asked me to your flat. I would love to have dinner with you. That will definitely give me something to look forward to. Now I think we had better get ready before I lose control.”
