LOL. I downloaded Season 1 epi6 from the SL folder. All I got was a psycadelic light show, diff each time I tried to play it. I guess I don't need to add that I'm a techie retard before I ask, what happened? :silly

all the files are .avi - so if your video codecs are not up to date - you may be experiencing problems.

edited to add: i just downloaded that ep here at work and it played with no issues - so perhaps it is a codec problem in your computer - if you need any help with that - let me know!

I'm incredibly grateful for the downloads and I've watched the 'Young person's guide to being a rock star; with great interest and there is one curious detail. The character who played lead guitar was played by Nicola Stapleton who turns up in Bad Girls Series 6 and 7 as Janine Nebeski.

Can you help. I have tried downloading Series 5 of WITB on my MacBook Pro and it keeps failing saying the server was interrupted. I have Windows Media for Mac and Quick Time Player. Can you help me figure out what I need to do to make you links Mac-friendly?

I honestly don't know much about macs. i was hoping someone with more knowledge could help you out! could you tell me a bit more about how you are trying to download? what happens when you do ... does the download begin at all or does it error out right away? you can pm me instead of doing it here and then we might be able to solve the issue!

Sorry to post this here, I'm not sure how to do a PM. I suppose that provides some insight into my serious lack of techno ability.

I actually spent an hour on the phone with Apple Customer Care. My attempt to download doesn't showan error message immediately, it tries to start and then the message that "connection to the server is interrupted" appears.

With the help of the apple -man, we downloaded software that he thought should respond to oodles of decode...er...decod...uh, decoder something or other, but nothing seems to work with your ftp.

The apple man said if you could tell me what the downloads are using as their decoder thingy, then I could find mac compatible software. Quick Player does not work, nor does Windows Media Player for Mac.

Well now that I have humiliated myself by revealing just how computer illiterate I am, maybe something I babbled on about will make sense.

all the files should be XviD - and you do need to install that codec on to your computer to make the files work correctly. Here is a link for the XviD codec - there is one included for mac:

of course this only really involves the playing of the files - i'm not sure why you can't download them - you are saying the download doesn't complete - correct?

what browser to do you use? are you actually opening the folder and trying to download each episode or are you trying to download the folder?

I use Safari (which is the Mac browser) and I do try to download a file not the entire folder. I will try the link you provided. Stay tuned. And, thanks so much for your help.

Alright ... CeruleanSeas informed me that the Wire In The Blood eps airing on BBC America have additional scenes added - especially concerning Simone's character Alex - I watched a couple of the eps and it seems like they are edited to add a bit more about Ben's dad ... and it gives more insight into all that.


So I have all the eps that have aired so far on my Tivo - once I get the last one ... I will edit out all the commercials and get them uploaded so everyone can see the extra footage (esp if you don't have BBC America)!

I saw parts of two of them with my sister this week (she has Fancy TV) & can verify--definitely a lot of extra stuff esp in the last ep of S5, & from what I saw, both episodes (that one & Nocebo) seemed to me to work better with the extra material--felt better-integrated & made more emotional sense. I thought I'd downloaded cut/faulty versions but apparently not. Thanks for the news--and for your efforts! Will be looking forward to seeing those very much. --e

I promise I'll be taken care of this for you! And I haven't forgotten the Bad Girls Fast Forward things ... I just need to get the program I used before reinstalled (I upgraded to Vista ... but it wouldn't install as an upgrade to XP - I had to do a fresh install - meaning I lost everything and had to start over and reinstall programs etc). Once I have it ... I will get those uploaded for you too! Sorry for the delay!

Hey everyone ... I should be getting "Thief Takers" soon ... I got the VHS tapes - but they are PAL of course ... so I'm sending them to a service to get encoded to NTSC DVD and then ... I'll up the eps.

Anyway, I was able to get a copy of the soundtrack for "The Young Person's Guide To Becoming a Rock Star." Now Simone doesn't sing on it or anything like that, but its pretty rare and hard to find ... so if anyone wants me to post it ... I can do that ... just let me know!

What is your sense of the S5 DVD, in terms of the 'uncut' vs cut eps most of us saw first?? Which are they, can you tell?

I haven't had a chance to watch them yet ... but when I do I'll let you know which eps are on the dvd's.

On another note - I have Series 3 of Thief Takers in hand and am processing the eps into .avi files and will be uploading them asap to the ftp. I got the PAL VHS of the series and then found a service on ebay to transfer them to NTSC DVD format. I just received them today and they look great!
