“Look Trisha I told you I would go I will meet you there at 5:30 as we agreed ok. You don’t have to keep calling me I said I’d be there and I will. Yes I’m painfully aware the cost of cancellation is $300.00 double the $150.00 cost per session. Now I need to go if I am going to get the books finished in time I’ll see you there bye Trisha.”
~Why the fuck am I doing this the only place I want to go with Trisha is to U-haul so she can move her shit out of my house.~
Nikki busied herself totaling up the last nights receipts and getting the deposit ready for drop off. Finally finished she stretched and stood to go down stairs to the bar for a bottled water. Once there she decided on a beer instead she looked around at their beautiful club. Ten years of blood sweat and tears had made Chix one of the hottest clubs in London. It’s enormous popularity had allowed them to open their restaurant and finally their bed and breakfast. They had money, a gorgeous house and expensive cars all and all they had built a great life together.
What started out as a labor of love for their relationship had ended up almost destroying it.
Night after night of hard work plus fighting off hundreds of woman had taken it’s toll on both Nikki and Trisha.
Unlike Trisha Nikki had never falling prey to the liquored up sexy vixens who tried to take her home nightly.
Nikki could remember the first time, almost seven years into their relationship, she caught Trisha in the arms of another woman. The pain cut through her even now as if it was yesterday. Trisha begged and pleaded with Nikki to take her back. She swore it was only one drunken night it would never happen again. A lie Nikki did not believe. She slowly wore Nikki down after 5 months she let Trisha return to their home. Trisha was on her best behavior. Everything seem to settle back into the comfortable life they once shared.
A few years went by before Nikki began noticing Trisha slowly taking to her old habits not calling, taking longer and longer to get home from work, not looking her in the eye when they talked. Nikki knew the signs all to well. Trisha was at it again.
Nikki looked around the club wondering how many women Trisha met there how many had been with Trisha and which one was sharing her bed now? She made up her mind years ago she would not go through this again with Trisha enough was enough. The next morning she sent her flowers the card simply read the next move is yours, think carefully there will be no coming back this time.
Trisha was a lot of things but a fool wasn’t one of them. She loved Nikki but it was just so hard with women throwing themselves at her feet. Each year they seem to get younger and younger, but none was worth losing the only woman she’d ever really loved. She knew there was no need to try and lie her way out of it Nikki knew her to well. The flowers were her last chance to make things right. She didn’t know how Nikki found out she had been so careful these last few years. It didn’t matter she knew and that was all there was to it. They had worked so hard the businesses were all doing well she had everything she had ever dreamed of and more. Nikki had done every thing in her power to make their relationship special again once she let her return home. She tried hard as well she stopped working nights at the club only filling in as she was needed. For a while it worked but she missed the club, the excitement of the screaming women and most of all the looks in their eyes when they looked at her. Once she slipped the first time the next got a lot easier. Trisha shook her head trying to forget all the lies she had told Nikki over the years.
“The next move is mind, ok Nikki let’s see what you think about this?”
Trisha searched through the rolodex on her desk until she found the card she was looking for.
“Well doctor I hope you are as good as Claire says you are because nothing but the best is going to drag me out of this one. Maybe if I had listened to her back then I wouldn’t be in this mess again.”
Trisha let her mind drift back to the many nights she spent in Claire’s bed all those years ago when she and Nikki had separated. Claire was the lawyer she hired in case Nikki didn’t take her back. Since they owned everything jointly and Nikki wasn’t exactly speaking to her much she felt she needed someone to lead her through the legalities just in case the worst happened. She shook her head to clear it of all thoughts of the beautiful blond.
Trisha studies the card in her hand for what seemed like hours, “here goes nothing,” she said before finally dialing the number.
“Hello Yes I would like to make an appointment for my partner and I please.
Questions? sure ask away, name Nikki Wade and I am Trisha Harris. No we are not married. Together, ah ten years in October. Problem, Nikki’s trust and mine gaining her trust back. Yes, that would be great the first available appointment is what we want. Trisha listen as the receptionist explain the procedure. Their first visit would be two hours. They would come in on Tuesday for a couples session lasting an hour and then each would have a thirty minute individual session immediately following. On Thursday afternoon they would have a group session with several other couples. After the first week if they decided to continue it would be a six week program.
Trisha agree to the terms and gave the woman her credit card number to hold their place in the class. She acknowledged she understood the deposit was nonrefundable and gave her e-mail address to have directions sent.
“This should show Nik I’m serious about saving our relationship. I hope it’s not to late. She told me last time she wouldn’t go through it again I know she meant it. I’m not sure why she is giving me this chance but I can’t blow it.
Nikki checked in on Gregory their night manager before she headed home to change an go and meet Trisha at the shrink. The drive home was not an easy one for Nikki. Being alone always made her mind work overtime. She had asked herself several times why she was giving Trisha another chance to hurt her there was no answer. The only truth she could render was during the time she and Trisha had been separated she had become a person she hated. There had been so many women most she couldn’t even remember. When she was in a relationship no matter what her partner did she didn’t cheat. The answer was simple she was not doing this to save her relationship she was staying with Trisha to save herself.
Nikki was surprise to see Trisha’s car in the garage.
“Hey babe I thought we could drive over together and maybe we could grab a bite afterwards or something. You know take advantage of us both being off at the same times what do you say?”
Nikki tried to fake a smile but it did not quite meet her eyes, “sure that would be fine, give me a few minutes to get cleaned up and I’ll be ready to leave,” Nikki said turning her back and heading up the stairs toward the shower.
She stepped in the shower hoping the hot water would wash away her thoughts from earlier, but it did not work. She closed her eyes as tight as she could but all she saw was the faces of the many women she had used to help her get past her hurt. She hated herself for using those woman but there was nothing she could do to change that now. The only thing she could do is try hard never to let it happen again.
Nikki took a deep breath, stepped out of the shower and got dressed.
“It will be ok, I can do this I‘ve got to. Trisha knows I will not allow her to walk over me anymore, so what if I have to see some shrink for a while who knows hell it might even help me find out why I lost control like I did. Trisha says we each have individual sessions I can always talk to him about it then.”
“Babe you about ready if we don’t leave soon we will be late?”
“Yeah, I’m on my way down now. I’m ready are you driving or do you want me to?”
“Why don’t we take my car but you drive. You know how much I love to be chauffeured around by you. Plus I can drink later somehow I think I will need one after this.”
“Sure what ever you want, we better go don’t want to be late at these prices.”
They arrived after the long drive on time actually about twenty minutes early. Nikki parked and walked over to Trisha’s door to open it for her. She did it more out of habit then anything else. Either way Trisha was trilled as always. She loved how Nikki always did that little extra to make her feel special.
They entered and walked over to the front desk.
Hi we’re Trisha Harris and Nikki Wade we have an appointment. Before Trisha could finish she heard someone speaking to Nikki.
“Hello Ms. Wade I am Doctor Wauhn if you and Ms. Harris would follow me we can get started.”
Trisha took Nikki by the hand and followed Dr. Wauhn to his office.
"Since this is our first visit I will be doing more talking then any of our other visits only because I need to ask several questions. Namely why each of you feel you need counseling and what event or events have brought you here."
Thomas looked from Trisha to Nikki trying to get a gauge on the women.
"Before we get started are there any questions for me?"
Both woman shook their heads no.
“Alright Ms. Harris we will start with you since you made the appointment. Why did you feel the need to come here today?”
Trisha felt the lump grow bigger in her throat. She didn’t know what she expected but being put on the spot like this definitely wasn’t it.
Trisha took a deep breath, “ah let me see.”
“Please take you time think it through if you need to but please answer honestly that is the only way coming here will help you.
Trisha took another deep breath closed her eyes tight for a moment and turned to look directly into Nikki’s eyes.
“because I don’t want to lose the only person I have ever truly loved. I'v done a lot of things I’m not proud of most I don’t even know why I went through with them. Nikki and I managed to build a beautiful life together and I want to find a way to keep us together.” She gave Nikki’s hand one last squeeze and turned her attention back to the doctor.
“And you Ms. Wade, why are you here.”
“It’s quite simple really, Trisha made the appointment without consulting me and prepaid for six sessions plus today’s double session. Since I was made painfully aware the money was non-refundable hence here I am all your doc for eight sessions.”
Trisha cringed when she heard how cold Nikki's words were.
“Ok, Ms. Wade I want to make sure I have this right, you are not here to work on your relationship you are only here because you can’t get your money back.
“You got it in one doc.”
Nikki did not realize how cold and unfeeling her word were until she saw the look on the doctors face. She turned to face Trisha and saw the tears forming in her eyes treating to find their way down her face.
No matter how much pain Trisha had caused her she was still the one person in her life to always be there for her and she really didn’t want to hurt her.
“No Dr. Waugh that’s not why I’m here that was just my anger talking I tend to do that a lot. Talk before thinking it though I mean. I’m here because I love her and I want to learn how to trust her again.
This was the Nikki Trisha knew and loved. One that always put her feeling first. She was shocked that she thought that way but it was why she cheated without much fear because somewhere deep inside she knew Nikki would always forgive her.
“Is there anything else Ms. Wade?”
“Yes, there is first thing my name is Nikki you may call me that if you are allowed. There are a few other thing I have trouble with. Namely I hope to one day never have to wonder where she been when she left work over three hours ago but doesn‘t mention it when she finally scrolls through the door. Or wonder who’s bed she’s in while I’m laying in our alone. Or even worst when I’m working serving drinks I want to stop wondering if this is the woman who kept her from coming home last night?”
This time Trisha couldn’t hold back the tears that ran freely down her face. She never thought, not really about how her cheating effected Nikki. She knew she would be pissed and yes even a little hurt but nothing like this.
For the first time since she got there Trisha wished she was anywhere else in the world.
“Nik I am so sorry I never knew you felt this way. I never stopped to think what you were feeling or thinking and for that I am so sorry babe.”
Nikki turned putting her hands on Trisha’s chin she lifted her face until she was looking her in the eyes
“Trisha sense we are being totally honest tell me what are you really sorry for cheating on me or getting caught?”
After several minutes of silence Thomas spoke, Ms. Harris please answer her remember this is why you are here if you really want your relationship to heal you must be 100% honest with each other.”
“Both Nikki a little of both. I never meant to hurt you in anyway. I didn’t go out looking for women to cheat with. It was never about sex they made me feel special. Like I mattered the way you use to before we got so much and no time for each other.”
“At least you are consistent that’s the same tale you told the first dozen time you swore you weren’t cheating but being that those women worshiped you and never stopped compliment you was enough for you to throw away ten years then so be it. Wouldn’t you doctor? Isn’t that what you plan to tell me in our single session doc cut my losses and get on with my life.”
“That’s not my decision to make Ms. I’m sorry I mean Nikki. I am here to help you and Trisha find the truth what ever it maybe.”
Both women nodded toward the doctor not taking their eyes off each other.
“It seems our time is up for the first session who would like to go first for the singles.”
Trisha waved her hand in Dr. Waugh “I will I got us into this mess it’s only fair.”
“Nikki if you would take a seat in the waiting room this won’t take long about thirty minutes and then we will switch places, alright?”
“Sure, I’ll just wait outside.
True to his word the single session were over before she knew it.
“If you are up for it I would like you to come to the group session tonight. You will have time to grab a bite to eat and meet back here in let say two hours. If you can’t make it there is another session on Thursday.”
“I read about the group therapy sessions on your website do we really have to role play and all that non-sense? Exactly how does that work do I have to pretend to me her and she will be me?”
“Good to know you have done your homework Nikki, but to answer you question no not always some times other members of the group play you other half.”
“Shit that’s even worse they know nothing about me, oh well I guess I will have to just wait and bloody see how it all works out.
Like I said I hope to see you tonight but which ever session is best for you. If you would make a appointment with the receptionist I'll to see you later. Bye ladies, Thomas said as he went to get ready for his next patients.”
Nikki walked over to the front desk, “Hi I’m Nikki Wade my Partner and I would like to make an appointment for tonights group session.”
She finished at the front desk an motioned time to go in Trisha’s directions.
To Trisha’s surprise Nikki took her hand and headed toward the parking deck.
~Oh thank you God she doesn’t hate me.~
They went to a nearby restaurant to grab a quick bit before heading back for the night's session. The ride back was one of relative ok silence. No words needed to be said They were both willing to work on keeping them together. At least that what Trisha thought.

The receptionist apparently had nothing more productive to do, than buff her nails. Nikki, and Trish announced their presence, and were invited to take a seat. There were a dozen on offer, so taking their cue from the four already occupied…They sought a bit of privacy, at the far end.
…‘Probably my last bloody kick at that cat.’ Nikki mused ‘Group Therapy…abandon sodding hope all ye’
…..‘Bloody hell …two sets of dykes! Dr. T’s really out done himself with this lot…
Understandably preoccupied…no one ever noticed that the blonde’s practiced smile, never quite reached her eyes. She’d sussed out, in the first five minutes, that this reception room’s acoustics were as good as Albert Hall. And she …clever girl…was seated in the sweet spot. A slight shift to extract a folder…a subtle turn to consult a calendar, and she could tune in to private conversations, from every chair. Bar those two just left of the door. But a magazine, casually dropped on one…before group hours…usually discouraged usage.
….. ‘Talk about theater in the sodding round.’ She gloated. ‘They hand me names, addresses, and phone numbers. Then I’m in, and out of those ‘Private’ files like a dose of salts! Locks? It’s almost insulting. Those two matched pairs… Gordon-Plackett, and Wade –Harris…completely unproductive. Out and Proud! Lesbian angst…intimacy issues…boo bloody hoo!
Those two by the window though…must be Dr. M’s… no file yet…She’s a hard looking bitch…I’ll wager she’s been round the park, more than once…Atkins…Mr. and Mrs. C….He’s quite tasty…nothing wrong in his bed I’ll wager. Shit! I can’t make out a word. They’ve got their heads together like a couple of cons.
Cons??…Stone the bloody crows…! Atkins C….Charlie Atkins??…. Yeah…it could be him. Shit…Shit…Shite! If it is you Charlie…(what in hell’s his wife’s name?)…And if you’re balmy enough to stick with this head-shrinking lark…Perhaps I’d better be off …Abandon ship…shoals ahead.!! …
Rule#1…Never overstay your welcome.
Rule#2…The slightest wiff of mob or plod…duck and cover…no exceptions!!
….. Fucking markers…I need…really need… a big score!….Worst comes to worst…Can’t complain ..two months…I’ve had a good run here. The Vicar,and his church mouse…still good for 500 per…can’t push it much more than that… ‘Andy Pandy’…time for a rise I think… 1000 next month, boyo!… And my personal favourite ‘ Light-fingered Lucy’…She’ll just have to dig deeper!’….
Dr. Waugh stood, as the ever smiling receptionist, ushered eight of them into a remarkably well appointed room. Nikki looked around appraisingly.
……‘Isn’t it amazing what 4x150 per hour can stretch to? Oops! I’d better make that 5x150. Apparently the well put together…Oh…My…Very…well put together… .Scot is she…?And her lanky mate are ‘ a bit tardy’…bad girl…and ‘soo…sorry’…Aren’t we all
Comfortable easy chairs…in a semi- circle… how very kinder care…At least my sorry arse is less sore already…Ah…and look…my very own side table…Bottled water and tissues…How considerate Doctor ‘please call me Thomas’. Swoons or sobs…We’re all set!… Now that vaguely troubling blonde is offering tea or coffee…no takers…Christ I could use a proper drink!’…
Seated directly opposite, green eyes met brown for the first time.
… ‘What I’d give for a double scotch, no water, ta…and tall, dark, and uh?…lesbian…over there will have the same’… Helen sketched a very slight eye roll. Nikki spared her half a grin.
“Welcome everyone…It’s good to see you all again…Mrs. and Mr. Atkins?…I believe you met with my associate Dr. Lindsey. I’m Dr. Waugh…Thomas… please make yourselves comfortable. I’m going to take a moment, to discuss why we’re here to-day…Each of you is an individual…totally unique…just like everyone else.”….That brought a few chuckles…a bit less tension… “But you’re also here as a partner, looking for answers to issues, that occur in most relationships. You’re taking that first step. Be kind to yourselves. We’re all on the same journey…from different starting points…and at different speeds. This group dynamic should encourage us all, to stay the course.
Possibly you’re hoping to forge, a stronger more fulfilling bond, with your partner. Be aware that perhaps some of you may find a different kind of strength. Individuals…grow and change…None of us are the same people at 30, as we were at 20…or will be at 60.It may be, that this experience, is the way to move forward. To accept, that what once was…can no longer be.
Our aim here is to open ourselves up…To challenge ourselves. To take a chance…To step out of our comfort zones…To really listen, firstly to ourselves …then to our partners…and to the others here.
It won’t resonate the first time…perhaps the tenth will be the charm…You’ll have an epiphany…and finally know… ‘This is my truth…this is what I need.’ The challenge then, is to face, and own, our truth, and then, to move forward.
I’m seeing, more than a few, raised eyebrows”…Thomas chuckled. “ It sounds awfully pat doesn’t it….I’ve sat just where you’re sitting now…and easy?… It is Not!… All change can be a bit intimidating. It can also be liberating.
If in the next 6 weeks, you ever leave this room… feeling untouched, unshaken, then one of us is shirking. No therapist can be all things, to all people. Please contact me… I’ll be more than pleased to refer you to a colleague. I can assure you that your privacy will be closely guarded. I’ll be taking notes, simply to refresh my memory, and to help us stay focused and moving ahead. It would be helpful if you could all take these same seats each session.
Have you any questions?…None?… Right then…Starting on my left…First names only please…Could I ask you to introduce yourself, and your partner.
“Hello everyone…my name is Trisha…and this is my partner Nikki…We’ve been together for almost ten years.”
Brown-eyed mate nodded curtly.
…. ‘.Attractive…blue -eyed, blonde…public school accent’…Scottish Helen judged… ‘ Very attractive partner…slightly dangerous …or perhaps just grumpy .’
Thomas smiled encouragingly…The speaker would invariably be the ‘ fixer’,… the silent, the ‘ fixee.’ Nikki’s body language, virtually shouted… “Go ahead Doctor…Win me over…I dare you!”
…..Pen met paper….Nikki glared…Scottie smiled.
“I’m Charlie…this is the little woman… Vonne. We’re here ‘cause she can’t keep her hands off me.”
“Wanker” spat a wickedly intense Yvonne.
…..Nikki and ‘ Scottie’ both winced.
…….‘Christ…He likes to play in traffic’…Nikki opined as she sank back. …way back, in her chair.
Yvonne had locked eyes with Helen, whose appraising gaze never wavered.
Nikki glanced at ‘ Scottie’…surprised to read “Time to escalate or evacuate…”…
....That one’s a dark horse…
…..Should have ducked…But held her ground …Her job probably…definitely not a bartender…a lion tamer…perhaps.’
….The moving finger wrote on….
… ‘Perhaps Dr. Tom is sharper than he’s shown…’
“I’m Peter” offered a distinguished, somewhat frail looking, middle aged man. “ And this is my wife Barbara.” A smiling motherly type, offered. “Nice to meet you all.”
………Pen poised…then noted… ‘ Peter, visibly weaker to-day…need to move quickly now…concentrate on Barbara.’
“My name is Chrystal” an attractive young woman declared. “And this is my life partner Zandra… I’d like to add…God bless us all, on this journey…Amen.”
…Pen scribbled…long pause…more note taking… ‘ Zandra- no affect …renewed substance abuse?
Nikki leaned forward…checking out the cause for the pause… ‘Scottie’ did the same…They exchanged a glance … ‘.Always good to know the score’ …… ‘Yeah.’
“Greetings all. I’m Sean…This is my partner Hels…nice to meet you.”
….. Sean… too at ease…Helen ‘very’ controlled…’
That pen scratched Helen the wrong way…
Smiling brown eyes met truculent green.
…Hels?…apparently not…Helen perhaps…if he had a clue…
…Nikki eh?…and what’s your story?

Part 3 (contributed by myself aussiebadgirl)
“What…sorry my story…not much to tell really…”
The doctor continued fervently to take notes. And if anyone could have read his standard illegible doctors scribble they would have read…Nikki extremely private person, will be a tough nut to crack, I’m sure she has a quick temper as well.“I’m sure that’s not true Nikki, we all have a story to tell.” The doctor added.
“Well at the moment I don’t exactly feel like telling, is that ok with everyone?” Nikki glanced around the room but her eyes lingered a little longer on an intriguing scot.
“Babe, come on.” Trish put her hand on Nikki’s thigh and slightly squeezed it, as if it was a warning to calm down.
“Ouch Trish, leave off will you.” Nikki pulled Trish’s hand off her leg. Looking up and directly across the room at a set of green eyes, she quickly looked away.
“You promised, you would give it a go.” Trish added in the best pouty hard done by voice she could muster.
“Ok, we will move on then, obviously Nikki is not ready to talk in the group session…Barbara and Peter.”
Barbara took the initiative this time and spoke before Peter could, as she knew it was the only way they could start to get to the truth of their problems. “My names Barbara and as you already know this is my husband Peter, where here because Peter has cancer and is not coping with the fact I am nursing him.”
“Barbara.” Peter sat upright in his chair for the first time since the session had begun.
“What Peter? It’s true. There is nothing to be ashamed of. I’m sure everyone in this room has had a loved one or knows of someone who has had cancer.” Everyone in the room murmured their agreement.
Seeing the tension in Peter the doctor quickly moved on. “Yvonne we haven’t heard from you yet.”
“Yeah and you won’t. Like Nikki over there, I ain’t talking in front of these people.” Yvonne smiled at Nikki in a show of unity. ‘Ha, I think out of this group I’m going to like you the most.’ Nikki thought to herself as she couldn’t help but return Yvonne’s smile.
The doctor began writing again in his note book, harder nut to crack than Nikki Wade I think, has power issues I’m sure, wouldn’t want to cross her.“Ok then.” The doctor knew when he was going to get nowhere with a client, and now was that time. “Crystal…Zandra.”
“Yeah me name’s Crystal.” Looking down at the women sitting next to her she continued to talk. “And this here is my best friend Zandra.”
“Best friend, is that now what you are calling me? You twat.” Everyone in the room was waiting and looking for Crystal’s reply. “Tell them the truth, since you have now found GOD and all.”
“There is nothing else to tell.”
“Oh yes there is.” Zandra stood up from her chair and walked over towards the windows at the far side of the doctor’s office. Everybody’s eyes in the room followed her, waiting to know what the truth was. “Tell them Crystal.” Zandra turned to look Crystal directly in the eyes, only to have her lower her head and avert her eyes. “Fine, I will tell them, as you can all see Crystal here has found God. Therefore us…” Zandra emphasized ‘the us’, by moving her hand from herself, towards Crystal, and back again. “Is now non-existent, because US, is now unnatural, it’s not what God intended…did I get it right Crystal?” Every eye in the room turned to look directly at Crystal. Crystal though did not look up to acknowledge everyone’s attention.
Again the doctor stepped in to calm the patients, “Zandra, please come sit back down. We all need to remain in our seats.” Zandra looked directly at the doctor with a look of defiance, but decided to comply too his request. After Zandra had taken her seat again the doctor turned his attention toward Sean and Helen. “Helen, we haven’t heard from you yet”.
It seemed like Helen had been ready to pounce on Zandra at any minute. And it took her several seconds to realize that the tension in the room had passed and everyone was now looking at her, waiting to hear her story. A story she herself was never pre-pared to reveal. Deep down, way down deep inside Helen; she and only she, knew the real Helen. But she also knew, like Crystal, she could never be truthful to her real self.
“Hello everyone. I’m Helen, and this is my partner Sean.”
“Hels…fiancé.” Sean sounded so condescending.
“No Sean I haven’t said yes yet, you’re assuming too much as usual.”
“No Hels…your wearing my ring and we are trying to start a family…or have you forgotten.”
“No Sean I have not forgotten as you so eloquently put it.” The room again fell into total silence. “But you so clearly have forgotten my name is Helen…Not Hels.” Helen folded her arms across her chest and turned her back slightly towards Sean. Not only to indicate the end of their conversation, but also to make sure he knew she was mad at him.
The doctor had stopped taking notes and seemed totally lost in what Helen was saying. Much to the chagrin of Nikki. ‘What’s he playing at don’t tell me he is one of those doctors, that gets into the pants of his patients. I think I am going to have to keep an eye on the good doctor here, so much for Trish’s best money can buy argument.’The doctor finally called the session to a holt. And everyone sat there taking in everybody else’s stories. Right or wrong they all formed their own opinions of each other.

Part 4 (contributed by USADOC36)
“Alright everyone this has been a marvelous start. I look forward to continuing our session Thursday same time. Barbara I have you and Peter down for noon tomorrow and Yvonne and Charlie at 2:00 see you then.”
Thomas turned to look for Helen but saw only Sean.
~She is gorgeous! She's definitely my pick of the litter from this group. It's been a while since I’ve had so many beautiful women to choose from. I only wish Trisha and Nikki weren’t gay I could go for either of them as well. Who knows it might not be a problem for them only time will tell. I wonder where Helen went? Just look at that arrogant bastard he's just the kind of pushy jerk that makes it so easy to get to their partners. They never see it coming.~
Thomas continued to scan the room looking for Helen.
Helen ran for the loo as soon as the meeting was dismissed. She had to get as far away from Nikki as she could.
“It is her at first I wasn’t sure but I could never forget those eyes.”
Helen let herself thrift back to that night so many years ago.
She and Sean had a monster fight. She slammed the door leaving him in her flat screaming at the top of her lungs. She wasn’t really paying attention where she was going she was just driving, when she saw the sparkling lights of a dance club up ahead.
~What the hell I feel like getting pissed and dancing a little what harm could it do? I need to relax and forget about that fool Sean for a while. Why can't he see I'm not ready to let him move in just yet. I won't let him force me into giving him his way. I will allow it when I’m good and ready and not a minute before. Funny I never noticed this place before, I can't remember ever coming here. Oh well vodka is the same every where.~
Helen walked in looking around until she saw the bar and made a bee line straight for it.
~Vodka straight and make it a double please.~
She remembered it as if it was yesterday. That was the last reasonable thing she said or did that night.
With every drink she danced more and more by herself circling the dance floor over and over again. Until she felt a pair of strong arms pulling her close from behind. She wanted to protest but the body grinding against her dancing with her felt to good to stop.
Helen let a slow moan leave her lips as she remember the first touch of lips against her neck. The music was pumping, her body was grinding into the person behind her and their lips felt so good going from one side of her neck to the other. She turned around quickly wanting to see the face of the man she was dancing with. Her partner had a different idea. She felt hot lips cover hers forcefully kissing her passionately she felt the strength of a tongue demanding entrance to her waiting mouth. She opened her mouth to let them enter she wanted to stop but her body wouldn’t let her. The next thing she remembered was a hand grabbing hers and pulling her quickly upstairs. They entered what she assumed was an upstairs office. Every thing from that point was hot and passionate. A small light next to the couch was the only light on in the room.
Helen had never had her clothes removed so expertly or so quickly. Her body was on firer lips were touching every part of her.
“What are you doing to me? No one has ever made me feel like this. I’m so wet, what are you waiting for I need to feel you inside me.”
Nikki never said a word she pushed Helen back on the sofa and gently worked her way down her body letting her tongue slip inside her. Helen wrapped her legs around Nikki’s body pulling her in closer. Nikki replaced her tongue with two fingers then three all the while letting her tongue continue to work on Helen’s clit. Nikki knew she was close she was thrusting so hard against her mouth. It wasn’t long before Helen was going over the rainbow.
Nikki kissed her way back up Helen’s body waiting for her to come back down. Her breathing was slowing becoming normal again. Nikki kissed her long and passionately before letting her go.
“My turn”, Helen said slowly unbuttoning Nikki’s shirt. She kissed her neck and stopped without warning when her hands felt Nikki’s bare breast.
Helen laughed a little as she remember her reaction when she discovered she had making love to a woman.
~I don’t think I had ever sobered up so quickly.~
She remembered hearing Nikki voice for the first time, “what, is anything wrong?”
But before she could answer the dark haired beauty had her back in a lip lock. From that point her body took over. Over ruling her mind allowing her to experience the most beautiful night of her life. They made love again and again for hours. With only the dim light from the lamp Helen could make out Nikki’s face. She remembered thinking she has the most beautiful eyes so dark so deep that she‘d ever seen she wanted the night to go on forever.
Helen wrapped her arms around herself and closed her eyes remembering that night so long ago.
When she woke up the next morning the sun was softly flowing thought the windows. She was still laying on top of this beautiful woman with their legs intertwined. She watched her sleep for sometime imaging what it would be like to wake up like this everyday. She fantasized about their life together it felt so real. She didn’t understand why she wasn’t more upset she was naked laying on top of a gorgeous woman she had made love with over and over. She felt just the opposite for the first time in her life she was totally sexually satisfied. She heard the vibration of her cell phone in her pant pocket. She knew without looking it was Sean. The fairy tale was over. She slowly untangled herself and got dressed.
She gave Nikki one final look,~ thank you for giving me one night I will never ever forget. Goodbye my brown eyed beauty.~
It had taken her three years to get those eyes out of her dreams.
Instead of going home that morning she headed straight for her office. She was happy she always kept a change of clothes there just in case. She wasn’t ready to deal with Sean just yet.
Helen jumped as she felt an arm slide by her hand.
“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to disturb you I just needed a towel to dry my hands,” Nikki said giving Helen her most devilish smile.
“Really Nikki and the towels over the three empty sinks are to far away,” Helen said letting out a small laugh.
Nikki was so loss in those deep green eyes she didn’t hear a word she watched the movement of Helen‘s lips. She didn’t know what she was flirting so openly with someone else’s partner but she was totally enjoying herself.
“I’m sorry H e l e n did you say something?”
“You heard me N I k k I every word.” There they are again those eyes God please help me.
Again Helen felt her phone vibrate, she didn’t need to answer it to know who it was.
“Well I better go, it’s nice seeing you again Nikki it’s been a long time,” Helen said as the door closed behind her.
“Again.”
“Fuck she said again. The nagging feeling I have in the pit of my stomach was right we have meet before but where, when? Has she been to the club? Was it at one of the charity events?” Nikki ran her hands through her hair.
“Long time. Fuck she said long time could it have been university. No I don‘t think it was shit I just don‘t know.”
“Hey babe you ready I need that drink now.”
“Ah, yeah Trisha I’ll be right there.”
They found a nice little restaurant close by the doctor’s office. Nikki ordered a vodka double straight up as soon as they sat down.
Trisha stared at her partner, “Come on Nik it wasn’t that bad, you promised you would give it a try.”
“What, I went didn’t I?”
“Yes you did and I think you for it but you never drink like that. Are you regretting going that much?”
“Of course not you know how I feel about talking about me in front of people, that’s all.”
“Well this must be the place to come after the session,” Trisha said waving at Yvonne and Charlie at one table and Zandra and Crystal at another.
Nikki was afraid to look what if it’s Helen?
*****************************************
“Look Chris tonight proved what I have been telling you for months it’s time we go our
separate way.”
“It did no such thing Zandra it just shows you need to try harder.”
“What, Crystal what do you want from me? We were a couple a real couple we got on well, we didn’t fight or nothing and you come home out of the blue and tell me you found Jesus. You didn’t care about what I wanted then so why now? I really don’t want to lose you as a friend Chris you made your choice. It’s time I start looking for a place of my own. I can’t see how you think we can stay together in a one bedroom house anyway. Waking up with you in my arms every morning knowing I can’t have you is doing my head in.”
“Zandra you know I would never do anything to hurt you. I didn’t plan this it just happened. I love you Zan you know I do but I love God more. You and I can still be together as friends, we have shared so much don’t throw all of what we can still have away Zandra please. The only thing that has to change is we can no longer have sex, that‘s all.”
“Crystal I want a partner not another friend. Out of respect for the five years we have spent together I will stay for the six weeks and complete the program but when it’s over I’m gone. You made a choice for you that effected both of us without even talking to me. Now it’s time for me to do what’s best for me.”
“You mean you just want to find someone to screw that’s not love. What we have you won’t find out there Zandra. Don’t you remember how hard it was dating everyone playing games out there no body was real. Before we got together I had the worst luck. That first night we talked for hours do you remember Zan. We were both so happy we finally found the other sides of ourselves. Zandra if you just give this a chance I know this could work.”
“Crystal listen to yourself there is no way you believe what you’re saying. We made love everyday some days all day and now you want me to act like a nun. Believe me babe I’m happy you have found peace and you know that I love you but I can’t do this. Crystal, I don’t want this, I’m sorry you take it as I don’t want you but they are one in the same at this point in our lives. Babe I love you now as much as I always did and I probably always will.” Zandra took Crystal’s hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.
“Who is she Zan tell me? That’s what all this is about you’ve found someone else haven’t you?”
“I’m not even going to answer that, let’s just eat and head home alright?”

Thomas opened the door his session with Charlie and Yvonne coming to an end.
“I think we made some real break through here today. I’ll see you tomorrow night at group.”
Charlie and Yvonne walked out feeling a little better about their lives together.
“You wait here Von I’ll go get the car, be right back.”
Yvonne was smiling to herself she couldn’t remember the last time Charlie did something nice for her with her asking first. She didn’t notice the car stopping in front of her briefly and pulling off just as fast. The sound of the passage slamming the door made her look in her directions.
She stood frozen staring in the eyes of a woman she hadn’t seen in over twenty years. The one person she prayed every night to never see again.
Jim walked over taking his wife by the arm, “ready love we don’t want to be late.”
Karen didn’t say a word she allowed Jim to lead her away. She looked over her shoulder in time to see Yvonne enter a car and pull away still staring back at her.

This is really a fun story knowing that many are writing it. I must say that no matter how pissed Nikki was that I doubt she would have forgotten where and when she snogged Helen much less had sex with her. :rofl

:D Im so glad you are all enjoying our group story...it has been so much fun to write.
Chapter Five (Contributed by Elle13)
Karen turned briskly and followed Jim into the building. She had somehow remained to keep her surprise and abhorrence bottled, but her mind reeled at the information she was now desperately trying to process. I haven’t seen her in what? More than twenty years! What is she doing here?
Karen and Jim sat silently in the waiting room for Dr. Waugh and Karen took the time to go over the last time she had seen Yvonne.
The two had known each other in college. They had many classes together and shared many of the same friends. This, however, did not mean they were close. In fact, they despised each other. Both women were used to getting what they wanted, when they wanted, and from whomever they wanted. This, of course, inspired an intense rivalry between the two young women. The tension grew to include the whole group of friends causing a split of loyalties. The ultimate showdown took place the last week before graduation.
Karen, Yvonne, and the whole gang had made one last attempt to reunite the group. They met for drinks at their favorite pub and for a few hours everything was fine. The two enemies had somehow swallowed their differences and were able to once again enjoy the company surrounding them. However, the entrance of a rather striking gentleman set the course for the evening. Yvonne saw him first, but Karen followed her gaze and jumped up to make her move. Karen proceeded to the bar, ordered another drink, and tried to catch the eye of the stranger. After five minutes, she returned with a drink in hand and a new friend.
“Hey guys, this is Mark. Mark, this is everybody.”
Most of the group smiled and calmly said their hellos. Yvonne, however, stayed silent and just smiled. Her smile tended to get the boys; it was more of a smirk that oozed sex and told of the devilish things she was capable of in bed. Karen saw Mark linger a little too long on Yvonne and grabbed his arm to claim her territory. The two sat down and joined in the conversation. Yvonne kept quiet. She had found her way in and was going to use the knowledge to her advantage. Karen was doing just the opposite: laughing, talking, flirting relentlessly, and constantly touching Mark.
The rest of the group watched silently as the battle for Mark’s attention intensified. Karen became more aggressive after Mark had begun to show Yvonne a bit more attention. Soon, it became clear that Mark was no longer a part of the battle, he was merely a weapon that constantly changed hands. Karen finally launched directly at Yvonne, “Get off him you two faced tart!”
“What are you talking about? I don’t see your name written on him anywhere.” Yvonne remained cool, calm, and collected. It was one of her best traits.
Karen stood up and pointed a finger at Yvonne, “I’m warning you.”
“And just what are you warning me of, love?”
“Back off, or you’ll be sorry.”
By this time, both of the women were standing mere inches away from each other and were locked in a stare down. Neither of them saw Mark slink off.
“Hmmm…I think you’re jumping ahead of yourself. Why don’t we ask Mark.”
They turned, saw he was gone, and took in the transfixed group. All eyes were on them and the silence in the bar was deafening.
“Look what you did, you little bitch! You went and scared him off!”
“I was not the one pawing him to death.”
Karen slapped Yvonne hard across the face. Yvonne, though shocked, did not back down. Instead, she simply sneered at Karen and spat, “Remember you did that. You’ll live to regret it!”
******************************
As Nikki sat in the small restaurant, her mind wandered over where she may have seen Helen before. And then it hit her like a ton of bricks. No! Surely that wasn’t her…
She had recently found Trisha in bed with another woman and they were in one of their many breakups. This time, though, Nikki thought it was the last. She didn’t think she would ever be able to forgive her this time.
In need of a distraction, Nikki decided to drive up to her club and lose herself in the music. She wasn’t there 20 minutes before Trisha made an appearance. She sauntered up to the bar and instantly grabbed Nikki’s attention. Nikki was furious. How could she? Trisha gave Nikki her best puppy dog look. Nikki rolled her eyes and made her way around the bar and took Trisha aside. “What do you want?”
Trisha grimaced at the steel in Nikki’s words but knew she had every right to be angry. “Please come back to me. I’m sorry.”
Nikki sighed in frustration. “No. Now please leave before I get security to escort you out.”
Trisha was left flabbergasted as Nikki turned to the dance floor and watched in agony as she snuggled up with another woman.
Nikki had grabbed the closest single woman and began swaying to the music with her. She wasn’t expecting the jolt she felt as their bodies touched for the first time. Nor did she expect herself to pull her away and up to her office. And she definitely never expected to see her again, especially under the circumstances.

Part 6 (Contributed by Swall)
Trisha looked over at Nikki, they hadn’t spoken a single word since Nikki came back from the loo.
Nikki never looked in her direction she just continued staring at her drink running her finger around the edge of the glass. She was obviously in deep thought the look on her face painted it’s own picture.
Nikki wasn’t having happy thoughts. Trisha cleared her throat, for the first time Nikki looked up letting their eyes meet. Nikki’s first look was one of shock as if she wasn’t aware she wasn’t alone.
“Are you all right, Nik?”
“Of course, I’m bloody not alright, Trisha! You dragged me into this therapy crap I didn’t want to go to in the first place and now I’m stuck with a group of people I don’t know staring at me waiting for me to tell them what we did in bed last night. Yet for some silly reason you want me to spill my guts to them. Now we are stuck in front of them for the next five weeks and you ask me if I’m all right?” She knew she was being unreasonable but these feelings of anger kept rising inside her again and again.
If that was’t enough Nikki looked up to see Helen walk into the restaurant followed by Sean.
They didn’t seem quite happy either.
Helen was a bit shocked by the angry look on Nikki’s face. She really wasn’t in the mood to see Nikki let alone speak to her in a civilized way.
She was hurt how could Nikki not remember her? How could a night that meant so much to her mean nothing to Nikki? How could she open up and tell the truth in those therapy session if she had to look into the face of the woman who has haunted her dreams since their passionate night together. How could she tell them she was no longer able to enjoy her sex life with Sean any more because of the woman with the dark brown eyes sitting across from her. How could she tell them that one night changed her whole life? How could she explain it to them when she didn’t understand it herself.
On the other hand, why should it still bother her so much it had been so many years ago.
She obviously had been just a shag to Nikki. Helen had to admit to herself it probably hurt even more that she had set out to do just that as well.
It started out as just a night to get away from a bad relation. A way to get Sean out of her head for a few hours nothing more. Helen wanted to laugh, the joke was obviously on her five years later she could still feel Nikki’s lips on hers each time she closed her eyes. She knew it wasn’t fair to Sean but there was nothing she could do about it she still has feelings for a woman she had only seen once but once had been enough for her to take over her heart.
Helen walked to the table as far away from Nikki as she could get, but it still wasn’t far enough she could still see Nikki and Trisha.
With a brusque manner Nikki threw the chair back and stood up. Unfortunately the chair fell to the ground and now she had everyone’s attention. Quickly she placed the chair upright feeling uncomfortable with everyone’s eyes on her she turned walking toward the door.
“Nikki, where are you going?” a surprised looking Trish asked.
“I need to get some fresh air.” Nikki said when Trisha went to stand up, Nikki added “Alone!!” With that, Nikki walked away.
Once outside Nikki searched for her cigarettes and lit one. When she inhaled she started to relax. She didn’t know how tensed she was until then.
Going to this therapy session was a big mistake, was all Nikki could think.
Slowly she walked to the park across from the restaurant. It was a very nice day, the sun was shining and the air felt fresh. She decided to go and walk a bit. It would do her good. After walking for about fifteen minute she was feeling better. She took a deep breath and went to turn around to head back when she saw a familiar face sitting on the bench.
Slowly Nikki walked over to the woman, who was crying.
“Barbara?”, Nikki asked softly.
Barbara looked up at Nikki, wiping the tears from her face, a bit shocked that Nikki saw her in this vulnerable position.
“Hello Nikki, I’m sorry.”
“What for?”, Nikki asked surprised.
“For you seeing me in this state. Normally I’m a very strong woman and I don’t let my emotions run away like this.”
“Is it ok if I sit down Barbara?”
When she saw Barbara nod she sat down and gave the woman a reassuring squeeze on her arm.
“Under the circumstances I think it’s normal to cry sometimes.” Nikki said softly .
“You don’t understand Nikki, I have to be strong for Peter!” Barbara added with a bit more anger in her voice than she intended.
The angry tone wasn’t because of the way she felt about Nikki’s words but at herself for becoming emotional like this.
Nikki understood all to well what Barbra was saying and she also knew she had to let Peter know how she really felt.
“Where is Peter now?”
Barbara sighed, it really was a relieve to be away from him sometimes, even if it was only for an hour or two.
“He is still at the therapist’s office. They have a bed for him there so he can rest. He can’t have such a long day without some sleep. I use this time to think and get some fresh air it helps me keep my sanity.”
“Good for you Barbara.” Nikki said with an understanding smile on her face.
“But I think you are wrong, you know!”
Barbara gave Nikki a confused look.
“What do you mean, do you think it’s wrong for me to leave Peter alone for a few hours?”
Nikki smiled. “No, of course not, silly. That’s what you need from time to time to cope with everything. What I meant is that it isn’t right you feeling you have to be the strong one, because Peter is sick.”
Barbara started to say something, but Nikki held up her hand.
“Listen to me for a minute Barbara. I know I don’t know you and Peter and perhaps I’m stepping out of line here, but the fact that Peter has cancer is tough on you too. Perhaps it isn’t the fact you have to take care of him that’s bothering him. But the fact you don’t show him your true emotions that’s troubling him. Perhaps because of your lack of tears and sadness he might get the feeling it doesn’t bother you if he lives or dies.”
A bit stunned and shocked Barbara looked at Nikki. She had never looked at it like that. She always thought she should be brave and strong for Peter. She thought pretending she could cope with her losing him, would make it easier for him to let go of life when the time came. It never occurred to her it would hurt Peter emotionally if she didn’t show her fears and tears. Barbara looked up and gave Nikki a warm hug and a kiss on both her cheeks.
“I never looked at it that wayat all Nikki. How silly of me. All I eever think about is Peter and what I thought he wanted from me. I never once asked him Nikki. I just assumed I had to be a strong both outside and inside to take care of the man I love till the end. I never thought Peter would want to see the pain I’m having about losing him. He is my soul mate, you know Nikki? Part of me is dying right along with him. Peter and I have such a strong, special bond together the thought of losing him hurts more than I can bare.”
Nikki smiled and with a soft tone in her voice she said, “That is what you should tell Peter that's what you need to share with him Barbara I'm sure he would love to hear it.”
Softly Barbara looked at Nikki with sad eyes. “Thank you, Nikki, for telling me something I should have seen myself. Thank you for opening my eyes. You are a very amazing woman, do you know that? You can see right through people, can’t you? I think Trisha is one lucky woman to have you as her partner. I’m sorry you two are having difficulties.”
A bit shy Nikki looked away while a single tear left her eye.
“Life hasn’t been easy on you either has it Nikki?” Barbara asked.
With the palm of her hand Nikki wiped away the tear. “No, Barbara, it hasn‘t.” Was her simple reply.
“Well dear, if there is anything I can do to help you, know I will be there for you. I don’t make empty promises Nikki. I don’t want to pry or mingle in your life but I am a good listener. If you need a home, I live in a large place with plenty of rooms, if you are hungry I’ll make you a meal, you name it and I will be there, or if you ever need to talk I will always listen and I will never judge you Nikki I promise.”
Nikki looked into Barbara’s eyes she knew she meant every word. She looked grateful at Barbara and smiled.
“Thanks Barbara, that really means a lot to me. I have the feeling I’m all alone at the moment, so I’m glad I have a friend in you. So, I might take you up on one or two of those offers. Come on, shall we head back to the others?”
Barbara nodded and both women walked back to the restaurant arm in arm in silence. Just as they were walking inside they saw Helen walking out.
Helen looked at Nikki and decided to confront her about the night they had together.
“Nikki, can I have a word with you, please?” Helen asked shyly.
Nikki stood still and nodded. “Sure Helen, what can I do for you.”
“In private please?”
Barbara understood the hint. “I’ll see you at the next session Nikki bye Helen.” Barbara said and walked into the restaurant.
“What is it you want to talk to me about, Helen?”
Helen took a deep breath, if she didn’t speak to Nikki now, she knew she never would. She might not ever have the nerve again.
“I want to talk to you about the night we made love.”
A bit shocked Nikki looked at Helen, this confrontation came sooner then she expected.
She took a deep breath and thought it would be better to get it over with. Perhaps talking to this gorgeous woman would give her some peace of mind, but somehow she doubted it.
Nikki smiled, “I didn’t think you remembered me. What would you like to tell me Helen?”
“You do remember, I mean you knew it was me?”
“Helen how could I ever forget those eyes?”
Helen felt a lump in her throat. “But you didn’t say anything, the way you looked at me earlier was the way you look at a stranger Nikki.” Helen couldn’t hold her emotions back any longer.
“Do you know how that made me feel Nikki? Well do you?”
Nikki stepped closer to Helen, “Yes Helen I do the same way I felt when I woke up alone the morning after we made love. You could have at least left some money on the night stand that’s how cheap you made me feel.”
Helen was shocked, she never stopped to think how Nikki had felt about that night. Now she knew she had hurt her as well.
Nikki saw the tears rolling down Helen’s face she couldn’t help herself. She wiped the tears from her face and pulled her close.
“It’s ok Helen we can’t change what happen back then but I do think it would help us move on if we go somewhere and take about it. There is a beautiful park across the street if you’re ok with it we can go for a walk and clear the air.”
Helen’s mind was racing a mile a minute she was in Nikki’s arms again she took a deep breath breathing her in. Finally she had the strength to pull away.
“Yes Nikki I think that would be a good idea.” Nikki took her hand and headed across the street.
Neither woman saw Sean standing in the window watching them.
“Hi, Sean isn’t it?”
Sean turned to see Trisha standing behind him.

Part 7 (Contributed by MustSurvive)
They were silent for a few moments while walking over to the park. Helen wandered away from Nikki to stand in front of a park bench It had a bronze plate with an engraving on it. "Why did you leave Helen? Why did I wake up and not find you lying next to me?" Nikki asked with nothing but curiosity in her voice, she walked over to where Helen was standing.
"Look at this, these people spent their lives together, they loved each other through life, and they still love each other even though the other is no longer with them. Nikki that's what I want! I want a life that is full of love and joy. I want to be in love, like I have never felt before."
"Helen… I."
"It's okay, Nikki. I left because I was scared I could really have that with you. The moment I looked into your eyes, I lost myself. I felt things I have never felt before."
"But then why did you leave?" Nikki cut her off.
"Because, of this. God, you make me so… ugh …! When I am around you Nikki I just want to touch you. Just being in your presence makes me feel like my whole body is on fire."
"What is so wrong with that?"
"I am not gay Nikki."
"Does that really matter?"
"I have a fiancé. I love him, and it is safe."
"But you're not in love with him."
"I didn't say that."
"Yes you did, just not is so many words. Your body language shows it. The way you talk shows it."
"I should get back to Sean he might be wondering where I've gotten to."
"Sure Helen, run away again." Helen just looked at her Nikki with her mouth open ready to say something but decided against it and turns and walked back to the restaurant. Nikki just looked at the short Scot as she walked away and sighed as she sat down on the bench and lit another cigarette. "Who needs safe anyway?"
Helen marched back into the restaurant only to find Sean and a woman whom she knew to be Trish deep in conversation.
"Sean we are leaving."
"But Hels I am talking."
"Fine! I'll be in the car."
"Okay."
Helen just muttered under her breathe and walked out and across the road to the car. Slipping in and slamming the door, she had the chance to observe the magnificent woman sitting on the park bench smoking a cigarette while being unobserved her self. Helen looked at Nikki and saw the look in her eyes. She was lost, and she too was having a hard time with this. Helen just leaned back and wondered what she could possibly do to make this work. She did have Sean to think about as well, she couldn't hurt him, but she hated the idea of hurting Nikki even more.
"Helen, what are you doing?" Sean asked as he got into the passenger seat, Helen was in the drivers seat with her head on the steering wheel.
"Nothing, I just thought I would drive home."
"Are you sick or anything? You don't look all that well. You look pale."
"Yes I'm fine; I just didn't like that therapy thing."
"I'm sorry.”
"No your not Sean, you're the one who suggested this."
"I thought it would be for the best, before we get married, everyone does it."
"No Sean not everyone does it. If you’re in love, you don't go to therapy to make sure you want to marry that person."
"Are you accusing me of not loving you?"
"No that's not what I'm doing."
"Well then are you saying that you don't love me?"
"Can we just go home now Sean, I'm rather tired?"
"Okay… yeah."
****
Trish walked over to Nikki and sat down. "You ready to head home?"
"Sure, lets go, you can drive." Nikki said throwing Trish the keys.
****
"What the hell are you doing Helen? Are you trying to get me killed?”
"I'm sorry, I just didn't see that car."
"Okay, well we are home now." Helen looked around to realize that they were in their driveway.
"Could you please hop out of the car Sean? I am going out."
"Well I'll come with you then. We could use a time out together."
"No I want to go by myself."
"Okay. Whatever it is I have done… I'm sorry Helen."
"No, your not. I'll be home later tonight."
"Okay."
Helen reversed out of the driveway at maximum speed, screeching as she went forward. Sean just watched, while being left to wonder what the hell was going on with Helen. She drove to the bar where she’d met Nikki all those years ago. Helen sat in the car wondering whether to go in or to just drive back home to where Sean was waiting. She knew that Sean wouldn't want her to go in to the bar. Hell he didn't even want her to go out. He would have wanted her to stay home, so he could make love to her. If that was what making love was. I'll be damned Helen thought. Then impulsively she murmured to herself and got out of the car.
"Damn this! I can do what I want!" She hoped Nikki would be there. She hoped with all her heart. She paused at the door but willing herself forward, she pushed it open and walked through. She stopped dead at the image in the bar that awaited her.

Two great chapters! Thanks guys! :)
Touching Nikki & Helen dialogue ... tinged with sadness. And you have to wonder just what was going through Sean's mind when he saw them together. Though I was surprised he didn't ask how Helen knew Nikki.

Another chapter for you all to read...Im glad you are enjoying this little group story...all your comments are greatly appreciated.
Part Eight (Contributed by Idengine)
The banner hanging just inside the entrance to the club read "Over 60, Gay, and Loving It!"
Helen took a few tentative steps inside and was greeted by a
sea of mature faces staring back at her as if she were from another planet. She fondly recalled the days when one could simply slip into a bar unnoticed... And wryly applauded her sense of impeccable timing in choosing such a night to act uncharacteristically on impulse.
***
"Tonight, I'd like for us to discuss trust," Thomas declared from his customary position at the head of the semi-circle in which they sat.
Nikki didn't bother to conceal the roll of her eyes; his pompous tone grew grander with every session.
"That is, after all, the reason that most couples choose to participate in therapy, group or otherwise," Thomas affected a sympathetic smile. "So, I'll give everyone a moment to think of an issue within the relationship related to trust and then we'll begin."
Accordingly, the room fell silent. Furtive eyes glanced at walls, floor, hands, other strained faces; minds raced trying to grab onto any detail, any incident which would be germane to the session. For Nikki, the answer to the trust question was easy: Trisha's penchant for cheating on her. Why she felt compelled to take her back each time was beyond Nikki... or perhaps it was something she simply didn't wish to face. Either way, she didn't want to find answers in therapy sessions headed by a contender for the title of "World's Biggest Wanker."
Her "trust" subject established, Nikki allowed her eyes to wander the room. She wasn't too surprised when they ended up fixed upon Helen. She took a quick look around the room and, satisfied that the others were caught up in their thoughts, blatantly observed Helen. She watched as Helen stared at the floor and chewed her bottom lip in deep concentration; she watched as Helen alternated between sitting on her hands and clasping them in her lap; she watched as each subtle shift of Helen's legs revealed more skin beneath the skirt she was wearing --
"Right! Time's up, I think," the annoying doctor boomed. "Who'd like to start us off, then?"
Predictably, not a hand raised, not a voice cleared.
Thomas didn't bother to hide his disappointment. "Seeing as no one wants to volunteer, we'll start to my left and work our way clockwise. Nikki, if you would."
Thomas smiled sweetly into Nikki's narrowing eyes before she began. "I find it hard to trust Trisha completely because she has cheated on me -- more than once."
Across the circle, Helen let out a gasp, but quickly clamped her hand over her mouth and feigned a cough.
Under her breath Trisha muttered, "You just had to add that last bit, didn't you?"
Nikki turned and smirked, "Your turn, dear."
"Fine." Trisha turned and addressed the group, "I feel as if I can't trust Nikki because she's distant."
"Distant?" Thomas asked.
"Distant," Trisha affirmed.
Nikki fumed, "Has it ever occurred to you that I'm distant because you cheated on me?"
"Now, now," Thomas interjected, "Raised voices get us nowhere, Nikki..." She stared at him, incredulous, but he continued, "Perhaps we better move on. We'll come back to you both once you've settled down. Barbara, Peter, how about you?"
And so they went round the circle. Barbara and Peter discussing their inability to confide in one another due to the touchy subject of Peter's illness; Crystal revealing she couldn't trust Zandra due to her past, and possibly current, drug use, while Zandra simply flew off the handle at the accusation. Yvonne speaking of her suspicions because Charlie disappeared for "business" at all hours, to which Charlie could only shrug. Nikki only managed to pull herself out of her murderous thoughts once they had come to Helen and Sean. Wild horses couldn't drag her away from this moment...
Helen shifted uncomfortably, her chair suddenly as hard as a rock. She cleared her throat and spoke, "I... I think the only issue in terms of trust that I have with Sean is related to decision making. I often feel that he makes decisions without consulting me, doesn't take my thoughts or feelings into account and I don't know how I can trust or even marry someone who doesn't see me as essential to a discussion about things which affect us both."
Helen looked at Sean and for the second time in as many days was met with an alien stare.
"But, Hels, I would think you would trust me enough to make the right decision for both of us. Isn't that, in part, what marriage is about?"
"Sean, how can you be so archaic?" Helen asked exasperatedly.
Sean continued to stare at Helen as if seeing her for the first time in his life, his mouth opening and closing noiselessly, reminding Nikki of a goldfish... No, guppy.
Though in some small way he enjoyed watching Sean struggle, Thomas came to his aid. "Sean, it's perfectly natural for what Helen said to need a bit of time to sink in, so while we're waiting on that, why don't you tell us your trust issue?"
Sean nodded dumbly and tried to swallow, but found his mouth as dry as Death Valley, "Well, I... I guess I feel that I don't have any trust issues related to Helen."
"None at all?" the good doctor prodded.
Sean blinked and glanced at Helen. "Well, there is one, but it's more me thinking she doesn't trust me rather than me not trusting her."
"That'll do for now. Go with that, Sean."
"I guess I feel that Helen doesn't trust me because she isn't willing to be more experimental in bed."
The sound of a pin dropping would have been deafening.
Nikki bit the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing aloud at such a fool. It was with some pain that she watched Helen's mouth drop open and her face become an impossible shade of red. Helen sat stunned and speechless staring at the floor. Thomas took that as his cue to end the session and quickly ushered everybody out the door leaving Helen and Sean to themselves.
Once out the door, Nikki made as if she was heading to the bathroom, but doubled back to the room where she overheard Helen and Sean talking.
"I cannot believe you said that, Sean!" Helen railed. It was all she could do to refrain from hitting him.
"But -- "
"Forget it, Sean! Just leave me alone! I'll find my own way home."
"But -- "
"Go!"
Nikki tucked herself into a corner as best she could and breathed a relieved sigh when Sean walked by without noticing her. Once he was out of sight, she peeked back into the room and saw Helen standing with her back to the door, staring at the opposite wall.
Oblivious to any presence, Helen began to mutter aloud, "Of all the fucking things to say. The man's a complete idiot! As if these people would even be remotely interested in what goes on in our bedroom..."
Helen was jerked from her thoughts by a voice that came from behind her. A voice she would know anywhere, any day, at any given moment. A smooth, yet playful voice that said, "On the contrary, Helen, your sexual proclivities are of great interest to me."

'ok guys here is my first addition to this story - i was scared before i started but now i cant wait to do some more. I hope you all enjoy this as much as i enjoyed reading it.' (OWS)
Part Nine
Helen’s body froze. Nikki was stood so close to her now, all playfulness gone from her voice. Her breath whispered along the skin of Helen’s suddenly ridiculously sensitive neck. Nikki’s voice was low and each word she uttered Helen felt tingle down her body and set up camp on the most sensitive part of her womanhood.
“I’m very interested Helen. I’m interested in the way you look when you’re turned on, the way your breathing gets deeper and the sound of small moans coming from deep inside you. I’m interested in the way my fingers feel when they slide in and out of you, the way your hips thrust and you beg for more. But most of all I’m interested in the way you taste. Not experimenting would never be an issue for us”
Helen was stood completely speechless, she stared straight ahead but her eyes did not take in the drab colour of the wall in front of her that was adorned with all sorts of self help posters. All she could see were Nikki’s eyes the night they made love. Nikki’s whispers had taken her mind back to a moment in Nikki’s office where Helen knew she had never been at one in such a way with anyone in her life.
The two women lay facing each other, emerald eyes locked with chocolate, their fingers tickled and teased one another, but as their passion built and their fingers delved deeper and faster, as their breathing got louder transforming to screams, their eyes remained embraced as they crashed over the edge together.
Helen’s body felt cold, without even turning around she realised Nikki had walked away, she quickly turned around just in time to see the door close behind the dark haired beauty. With the back of her hand Helen wiped at the silent tears that had escaped against her will and she made her way home.
****
Nikki met Barbara on the bench, it had become quite a routine for them to meet and have a chat in the park and it was a few moments out of their day that both women cherished.
“Hi Barbara sorry to keep you waiting”
“No problem Nikki, it’s a beautiful day, I was watching those children play over there, that young boy seems very protective of his little sister it’s incredibly adorable”
Without taking her eyes off the children playing Barbara began to talk to Nikki. Although they shared in group therapy they felt that here and now, together being honest with one another, alone, away from their partners and the others in the group, in the beauty of the park, was their real therapy.
“Peter and I could never have children, it didn’t affect us much over the years, we enjoyed our time together, you know? But now I’m losing him I wish more than anything that I had his child to hold on to”
Nikki didn’t answer with words; to break the silence that had befallen them at that moment would be a betrayal to the lost hopes running in Barbara’s mind. Nikki simply reached her hand over and held Barbara’s in her own and they sat for several moments watching the world go by them and offering silent comfort.
Barbara felt it was time to turn her attention to Nikki, the woman she had come to love as her own daughter had looked very shaken when she had approached her. Although they had not known each other very long Barbara knew she could read Nikki and sense what she needed. She was not a woman who would talk about herself readily. But Barbara was perceptive enough to know when the right time to start asking was, resulting in this young woman opening up.
“Do you ever want children Nikki?”
“The club is my baby”
Barbara was silent for a few seconds as she debated whether or not to voice her thoughts and she decided for Nikki’s sake she would.
“Do you believe in soulmates Nikki?”
Nikki thought about this for a few seconds.
“I believe in soulmates yes but do believe everybody gets to spend their life with their soulmate? No.”
“You know Nikki I was lucky enough to have spent my life with my soulmate and I think you have been lucky enough to find yours”
“You think Trish is my soulmate?”
The question was delivered in such disbelieve it shocked Nikki to the core. She knew in that moment that she herself did not believe Trish to be her soulmate. “So why the hell have you stayed with her for ten years” she thought to herself. She recalled the conversation with Helen in this very park. Because it’s safe, so you don’t live your life being disappointed when everyone you date turns out not to be that great big love you dreamed of as a child, that all consuming love that may not be out there.
But since the night Nikki had spent with Helen she believed she could feel that love she always dreamed off, and since meeting her again so many years later she knew it was possible to feel it. However, feeling it and having it were two separate things and unfortunately for Nikki she was not one of the lucky ones that could have it all.
Nikki admired Barbara and shared in her passion and belief for true love, perhaps Barbara thinking Trish was the one for Nikki was a good thing, it made Nikki believe that possibly there was a deep love between them.
“Yeah perhaps she is” Nikki continued “maybe Trish is my soulmate Barbara”.
“No Nikki. I was talking about Helen”
****
Nikki was more nervous than she could ever remember being, not even on the opening night of her club did she feel this anxious. Nikki did not know how she was going to get through today; it threatened to be the hardest day of her therapy to date.
She had not seen Helen since voicing her truest desires to the woman she knew she loved. Nikki knew without a doubt that she loved Helen and there was nothing she could do about it. But one thing Nikki knew she had to do and that was to hide it better.
Her conversation with Barbara the week before had scared Nikki, after Barbara’s revelation Nikki had been momentarily shocked but after a few seconds she didn’t try to pretend she did not agree with the older woman. Helen was her soulmate, she knew it and her dear friend knew it too.
Nikki had opened up to Barbara that afternoon and told her everything, how they met all those years ago, leaving out the details of course, how they met again at group therapy and their conversation after their first group session. Barbara had sat and listened intently, her heart going out to her friend. And as was customary with the two of them they did not offer big speeches of advice and their thoughts on the matter, she simply squeezed the younger woman’s arm as she got up from the bench.
“You shouldn’t give up hope” and with that she left Nikki to her thoughts.
Although talking to Barbara had been a great help to Nikki for finally having someone to talk to about the way she was feeling, it left her with a sense of dread; if Barbara saw it perhaps others could too. She knew Barbara was more perspective than most and knew her so well, but it would only be a matter of time before others picked up on the fact that Nikki could not keep her eyes of the sultry Scot whenever she was in the room. What if Trish could tell or Sean.
****
Helen walked into the room, a few minutes late as usual which made Nikki smile. Their eyes caught as Nikki smiled but she soon dropped it and looked away from Helen. Helen was confused. There was no warmth in Nikki’s eyes; their dark depths did not search her out as they usually would.
Although Helen had arrived late Thomas had not yet turned up and seeing Sean deep in conversation with Trish again Helen took the opportunity to speak with Nikki. She was sat in the corner alone, they could speak freely. Helen wanted to tell Nikki how she had not stopped thinking about her all week. She wanted to say how she had not got the sound of her voice out her head or the vision of her eyes out her mind. She wanted to tell her she had seen her eyes in her dreams every night, felt Nikki’s hands on her body instead of Sean’s. She wanted to tell her she loved her and they should sack this therapy farce and ride of into the sunset together. But she knew she could never voice any of these things so she would have to settle for a friendly hello.
“Hi Nikki” her voice was soft and quiet, almost shy, Nikki found it so endearing, but determined to keep her promise to herself she swore not to show it.
“Hello Helen”
“How have you been?”
“Fine thank you”
“Have you had a good week?”
“Fine thank you”
“Been up too much?”
“Work as per usual”
Nikki would not look Helen in the eye she sounded so polite, as though talking to someone she hardly knew, Helen was finding it hard to keep the conversation going. Nikki was distant. She remembered Trish saying at the last session that Nikki was a distant person and Helen had not believed her. She wandered at the time how a woman could be with this dark haired beauty for ten years and not know her at all. Looking at Nikki now, reading her body language and getting a piss off vibe from her perhaps it was Helen that didn’t know her at all. Perhaps Helen only imagined her to be a warm and loving person. Perhaps she really was a cold and distant person.
“Nikki is everything ok” Helen was confused, this was not the woman that only last week had whispered in her ear and completely melted her heart.
“Fine thank you Helen. Look why I have the chance I want to apologise for last week, the things I said, I was just having a laugh.”
Helen reeled at the words coming from Nikki, she visibly flinched as the pain cut through her, just having a laugh! She felt like screaming at Nikki, how could she be so cold, Helen had told Nikki how she felt when she found herself around the taller women, how could it mean so little to her. Before Helen could really comprehend what Nikki was saying to her and formulate a reply Thomas entered the room apologising for his tardiness. Nikki quickly got up and made her way over to Trish dreading the next hour.
“Ok guys, seeing as we are starting a few minutes late today lets just crack straight on shall we. Today hopefully we are all going to have a little fun, but a lot of you will learn something along the way. Today we are going to do a little role play. Each of you received an envelope from me in your private sessions this week with instructions. Some of you will play yourself and some of you will play another person’s partner. Now who would like to go first? Nikki cringed inwardly, knowing no one would volunteer and the ever persistent words, “ok we will start from my left, Nikki” would come.
“Ok Nikki before you begin would you please tell the group who you will be role playing today”
“Sean” A few people in the group laughed, including Sean, he was looking forward to this.
Nikki against her better judgement took a look at Helen and saw her own nerves, and worse, horror, mirrored. They both knew what was coming.
“Ok group in each envelope is a particular situation, whether it is dinner out, a night in front of the tv, or in Helen and Nikki’s case, Helen coming home from work. I have outlined a brief scene I wish you to play and the benefit is for the partner being role played to observe what it is there partner wants, these scenes have been based on my observations from the private and group sessions.”
“This is some bullshit” Nikki was thinking to herself, when she had read the envelope she had seriously considered backing out of this whole therapy thing, she didn’t care if she didn’t get a refund. But she knew if it made that prawn realise a few things maybe it could help Helen to be happy. And no matter how much it hurt her, she wanted Helen to be happy.
Helen didn’t think she could move, Sean and her had quiet a laugh when they looked over the envelope, neither taking it too seriously, but the moment Helen discovered who her partner was to be played by it had suddenly become more than a bit of fun. After all, their little role playing game ended in a bloody kiss.

Part 10 (Contributed by USADOC36)
Nikki stood frozen holding the card as if it was a snake waiting to bite her. How in the hell did he expect her to kiss Helen in front of Trisha without giving the game away. Nikki looked over at Barbara who gave her a nod of encouragement. Nikki wasn’t ready for this she had worked everything out in her head she would stay, avoid contact with Helen at all cost and now she has to kiss her in front of everyone including Trisha. Shit Trisha. Nikki scanned the room looking for her she was standing talking with Sean and Helen.
~Trisha knows me to well she will take one look hell just a glance and know I meant the kiss. A huge smile crossed her face; ~a little payback can be a royal bitch I think I am going to enjoy this after all. ~
The sound of laughter made Nikki break her train of thought. She looked toward the sounds in time to see Sean doing his impression of her. Even Helen appeared to be laughing, although the look in her eyes was more of fear.
That was all Nikki needed to refocus how hard could it be to play a self absorbed prawn who looks down on everybody because there is no bloody way they are as smart as him. She would kiss Helen all right but it won’t be the peck on the cheek he is expecting. ~We'll see who's laughing in the end Sean, ~ the smile on Nikki’s face grew even bigger.
Nikki swung around to see a smug looking Thomas waiting for his handy work to begin.
"Ok Nikki and Helen if you are ready, we will have Sean, that's you Nikki sitting here on the living room couch watching a replay of Saturday's game and Helen you will enter your front door here. Yes that should do everyone looks ok if you are ready Helen."
“And start.” was the last thing Helen heard before her body took over leading her mind on a very familiar journey. She pretended to open and close her front door, drop her briefcase and look at the post sitting on the stand. She took off her shoes rubbed her tired feet and walked toward the living room where she heard Sean/Nikki shouting at the TV.
She walked behind the chair/couch, where Sean/Nikki, was sitting wanting to keep as much distance between them as possible. She kissed Sean/Nikki on the top of the head.
"Hiya sweetheart how was your day?"
Nikki/Sean didn't say a word to her she continued to shout at the TV.
"You bloody idiot can't you see him pass the damn ball?"
Helen looked at Sean/Nikki, then the TV then back at Sean/Nikki before heading in the kitchen to get a glass of wine. She came back in to the room and was about to sit down next to Nikki, when she suddenly looked up.
"Hel's you're home will you get me a beer while you’re up thanks babe.” Nikki/Sean asked pretending to drink the last from the can in front of her.
"Wait take these with you and throw them in the trash," Nikki/Sean finished passing Helen the six empty beer cans sitting on the table in front of her. She forgot about the three on the floor beside her until she was already in the Kitchen.
"On shit Helen there were a few more, no worries you can get them on the next trip."
Helen walked back with the beer and handed it to Sean/Nikki this time she sat on the opposite end of the love seat far away from Sean. She took a large gulp from her glass before trying again to start a conversation with him.
"So Sean what did you do today? I thought you said you had that large project across town to finish?"
"I do the guys are over there right now."
Helen tried to hold back her anger this all seemed to real for her how could Nikki know Sean so well.
She raised her voice slightly remembering the many times they had had similar fights.
"Sean we agreed it’s much less expensive if you help out plus you are able to supervise and make sure the project is staying on time and done correctly."
"What are you getting so upset for I've only been home a little while, I wanted to catch the end of the game." Nikki/Sean said never taking her eyes from the TV.
Helen stood and walked to the back door looked outside where Sean always put his dirty work boots. Just as she suspected there was nothing there.
"Sean where are your work boots? Damn it Sean look at me when I talk to you. It’s not as if you haven’t watched that bloody game twice already since it came on Saturday. I asked you where your work boots are Sean."
Nikki/Sean looked around waiting for an answer to drop out of the sky she never said a word.
Nikki was making a point not to have any eye contact with Helen. She had to stay strong and she knew she could never do that if she let Helen get to close. Nikki did not know how much of this she really believed Sean would do but for now, it was her saving grace. If she could make Helen mad enough, she knew she could make it out of there and away from the one person; she wanted the most without letting it get out of hand.
"Are you going to answer me, for the last time if you have been to work all day where are your work boots Sean?"
Nikki/Sean turned to Helen waving her off; “I don't care what we have for dinner what ever you want to fix is all right with me."
Nikki saw the look on Helen's and every other woman's face in the room. She knew she had scored big with that one.
Helen pretended to go over to the closet and take out a clean pair of boots.
She was yelling by this time, "Sean if you have been to work all day why are your boots in the closet where they were when I left this morning and don't tell me you cleaned them already or they would still be outside drying. You are a lazy liar Sean Parr and you don't even have the guts to admit it."
Helen threw the shoes at Nikki, "I am going upstairs to take a shower and calm down when I get back I would like something I haven't had from you today, the truth. Sean I am tired of you lying to me for no good reason at all."
Nikki looked up to find Helen staring directly in her eyes she was lost.
Helen turned to storm off heading upstairs when Nikki/Sean jumped up grabbed her by the hand.
"I'm sorry baby it's just," Helen cut her off before she could finish.
"Sorry for what Sean, for lying to me or for getting caught?”
"Both, truth is Helen we haven't been spending any time together. We haven't made love in weeks. So no I didn't go to work today because I wanted to spend time with you."
Nikki/Sean ran the back of her hand over Helen's face.
Helen quickly pulled away, "Sean let me see if I've got this right. You did not go to work today because you wanted to be with me I must be missing something here unless you were planning to come and spend the day with me at my job just how is this making sense. I don't remember seeing you at Larkhall today. I don't remember getting a call to meet you for lunch so when exactly were we supposed to spend this time together Sean? If you can't do any better than that Sean why even bother? You didn't go to work today because you didn't want to nothing more nothing less. It had fuck all to do with spending time with me."
Nikki/Sean stepped closer, "Babe if I had gone to work I would be to tired to spend any quality time with you tonight. By not going in today I am well rested and ready to spend the night doing what ever it is you want to do and end the night making love to you till all hours of the morning."
Nikki caught a glimpse of Sean over Helen's shoulder he had taken her seat next to Trisha. He was actually looking quite pleased with Nikki's portrayal of him.
~The bastard, time to wash that smug look off your face Sean ~ Nikki pulled Helen in so close they could feel each other's breathe, she wrapped her arms around her tightly and in her most baby like voice she asked, "Now am I forgiven?" Before Helen had a chance to object, she covered her mouth with her own.
Nikki had meant for the kiss to be a simple brush of the lips that she would hold a little longer than necessary, but Helen had other plans.
If this was going to be the last time, she kissed Nikki she didn't care if the whole world saw them she wanted to feel the way she felt that night all those years ago just once more.
Helen placed one hand behind Nikki's neck the other around her waist pulling her in even closer as their kiss deepened. Nikki felt Helen bring her hand from her waist placing them both around her neck pulling her down further into the kiss opening her mouth giving her permission to enter.
Nikki couldn't take it any more as she heard the first moan from deep in Helen's throat. She broke away from the kiss and Helen both breathing hard. She saw the look on Trisha's face but to her surprise, she didn't look angry but turned on. Nikki turned her attention back to Helen.
"I was thinking," Helen cut her off.
"That you and I could take a nice relaxing bath instead of a shower," Helen said stepping up running her hands down the center of her chest.
"That's good to, but what I was thinking was you could," Nikki gave Helen a kiss on the fore head, go in the kitchen and fix us one of your special dinners it should be ready by the time the game is over and we'll have a romantic dinner together."
Nikki made a point of turning her head as far as she could pretending to catch the score of the game before reaching for Helen's lips again.
This time Helen slapped her as hard as she could.
"Sean you are a right bastard,” Helen yelled and pulled out of Nikki's embrace.
"What Helen come on what did I do I said I would stop watching the game when dinner was done? We can even talk during the commercials that way I can keep you company while you make dinner."
Nikki/Sean walked behind Helen pulling her in from behind massaging her shoulders.
"Come on babe don't be like that here I am doing everything I can to make you happy and you won't even meet me half way. I took a whole day off just to spend some time with you and make you happy and here you are yelling at me."
Helen had taken all of this she was going to, she spun around facing Sean/Nikki.
"If you were trying to make me so happy Sean why didn't you cook or even clean up a bit? The breakfast dishes are still in the sink. You haven't done any think but sit on you ass and drink beer all day waiting on me to come home and wait on you hand and foot as usual. Well that's it Sean you can get your own dinner and pick up those beer cans off my floor I am not your bloody maid."
Helen hadn't realized how loud she was shouting until she saw the look in Nikki's eyes. They were so warm and full of concern they made her melt just standing there. Her body became less rigid she dropped her head to avoid any further eye contact. Her lips were still on fire from their kiss. If only they were anywhere but here.
Helen turned her attention to Thomas for the first time.
"That's how it normally goes most nights he stays down on the couch watching football until he falls asleep that’s why I was so angry when he said I wasn't adventurous in the bedroom. How would he know he's never there?"
Thomas stepped to the middle of the room, "That was great let's thank Nikki and Helen for starting us off tonight. All right everyone this is normally where we grab a break but since we are already running late and we still have so much left to do perhaps we can keep things moving unless some one needs to break now."
Everyone turned to look at Peter and Barbara. Peter nodded politely to everyone he was ok and Barbara simply smiled.
"Before we hear what Sean has to say about Nikki's betrayal of him and get Helen’s comments as well. I would like to introduce Karen and Jim Fenner," Thomas gestured for them to come join him he had motioned for them to stop at the door when they came in not wanting to disturb Helen and Nikki.
"They are usually in Dr. Lindsey's session but she is on holiday for the rest of the month so they will be joining us for the rest of our sessions. If everyone could make them feel welcome."
Everyone clapped as Jim and Karen waved, everybody but one that is.
Yvonne had not been able to concentrate on anything Nikki or Helen said since Karen entered the room. Their eyes meet on more than one occasion.
"Ok, Jim and Karen if you will pick an envelope and tell me the number on it please. You will go next after our discussion with Helen, Sean and Nikki.
Jim turned the envelope over and read off the number three.
Thomas looked at his clipboard, "all right let's see who else has number three ok you will be partnered with Yvonne and Charlie over there. Both couples are out shopping when Jim and Charlie spot each other. They are old Navy buddies who haven't seen each other in twenty years. Don't open your cards just yet not until after we finished with Nikki and Helen.
Yvonne had a bad feeling in the bottom of her stomach. She didn't know what the good doctor had in mind but she was nervous as hell. She looked up to find Karen and Jim standing directly in front of her. Charlie stood and shook Jim's hand and went with him to find chairs for them to sit together. Karen watches them walk away before she looked back at Yvonne.
"Hello Von you have no words for an old friend?" Karen asked still holding Yvonne's hand.
Yvonne wanted to pull her hand away but too many eyes were watching them.
"Friend don't you mean two faced bitch?" Von said leaning in so no one but Karen could hear her.
"Here you go love, Charlie and I are going to step out and grab a smoke we will be back before it's our turn."
Jim saw the look on Karen's face, "its ok love I promise we will be right back. You ladies get acquainted and we'll be back before you even have time to miss us."
Karen watched Jim walk away but her mind had not been on anything he had said she was trying to remember why she and Yvonne never got along she knew they had been friends once but for the life of her she couldn't remember why they hated each other so much in the end. Back then it had to be over a man it always was, but who and how it started she couldn't remember.
Karen and Yvonne turned to sit down as they heard Sean and Thomas talking.
*************************************************
"Well Sean how did Nikki do what did you think?"
"To be honest Dr. Waugh if I hadn't picked the envelope from you myself I would have to swear Helen wrote the question herself. She hates when I watch football. I've tried to teach her the game but she just hates it there is nothing I can do about it I'm afraid."
Even Peter looked away at Sean's answer.
"So what you are saying Sean the problem you took from the exercise was Helen needs to learn the game of football so she could watch the game with you and she wouldn't be so mad when you watch the same game three times in four days."
"You got it in one Dr that would fix everything."
Every woman in the place gave Helen a sympathetic look even Trisha. Up to this point, she had not understood Nikki’s dislike of the man. He had seemed quite charming to her, but now she more than agreed with Nikki and everyone else in the room by the looks of it. Even Jim and Charlie, who had stepped back in the room, could not believe Sean had said something so stupid out loud. It didn't matter whether they agreed with him there was no way they would ever admit it.
"Sean if you and Helen are both watching football who would cook dinner and clean the house then?" Barbara couldn't help it she wouldn't let Sean get off so lightly.
Sean looked directly at Barbara and said, "It’s like I said before I will fill her in during commercials."
"But man in the example you was home all day why didn't you clean up the dishes in the sink and at least start dinner. Why would you think Helen who has worked all day having to deal with God knows what at the prison should come home and have to do them things and you have been sitting on your bum all day watching TV?"
"Cause Helen loves to do those kind of things and besides it's not like she is outside in the burning sun working in a garden all day she's in a huge office with people waiting on her hand and foot it's hardly the same Crystal now is it?"
Sean wasn’t making things any better on himself every time he opened his mouth his foot went deeper and deeper in.
"Sean if you didn't work that day then you didn't do anything either since you seem to think the prison runs itself," Shaz added. "So answer Crystal's question why didn't you do anything all day it would have taken you a few minutes to clean the kitchen and start dinner."
"Helen hates my cooking and the kitchen wasn't that bad it was only a few cups and plates. Helen never let's the house get dirty," Sean added as if he was giving Helen a compliment.
"Sean I just want to make sure I understand what you are saying to us."
"Ok Trisha asks away," Sean did not see what was so bloody hard for these women to understand Helen needed to learn to enjoy football that was that.
"This gorgeous lady goes to work every day, makes decisions that affect thousands of women and the officers who work there and you still think she doesn't work because she is inside in an air conditioned building. So she shouldn't be tired when she comes home and although you have been home all day doing nothing she should just run in the kitchen and start dinner for you, after she cleans up your breakfast mess."
It was Helen's turn to speak up, "got it in one Trisha." The room broke out in laughter.
"Well Trisha you don't hear men going around singing that bloody song about bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan and never, never let him forget he's a man now do you? Helen choose to keep working I never asked her to she could have stopped anytime she wanted. If Helen wants to keep working until we start a family I'll allow it if it makes her happy."
Every woman in the place broke out in laughter as the men hung there heads in shame.
Nikki, who had been sitting quietly until this point couldn't take it anymore she shouted "admit it Sean the reason you treat Helen like your maid is because she makes more money than you and this is your way of showing authority over her. She still has to clean your house, make your meals, and make love to you when you want because you are the man of the house and what you say goes. Did I get it in one too Sean?"
Sean did not answer.
"The only thing we fight more about than his total refusal to help with the house is me coming home to find him packing getting ready to leave on a trip for three to four weeks for work and it is my first time hearing about it. He swears he told me but we both know he's lying. If he could pack without me helping him he would leave before I get home."
All right Sean and Helen your assignment for the next session is to decide how to rectify the situation. Sean still didn’t understand why he had to do something he had just done all over again in writing. Why they could not understand what he had said made no sense to him. He looked for the other men in the room to back him up but saw no help coming.
"Does no one here agree with me? If Helen enjoyed football she could watch and understand the games with me and we would not fight so much."
Peter spoke for the first time, "Son your problems have nothing to do with football and all to do with your attitude toward women. Were you an only child or the only boy in the family? It's obvious you have never had to take care of yourself before. Instead of getting married maybe you should just hirer a maid."
"Don't be foolish that would be a waste of money and what would Helen do with all her free time. She would be bored and that could lead to even more problems."
Helen had never been more embarrassed to be with Sean than at that moment.
"My boy you have so much to learn about women and about life. Helen I wish you luck you will need all you can get. I don't know why you would want to start a family when you already have one child." Peter took Barbara's hand in his kissing the back of it.
Even Thomas was embarrassed my Sean's answers. For such a young man he spoke like a complete fool. His ideas were from generations long past.
"All right lets move on shall we Jim and Charlie if you will pass the envelope to your wives I only want them to read what's inside and I will explain to you and the group what you will be doing. As I said before Charlie and Jim are old navy buddies who run into each other while they are out for a bit of shopping with their wives. The four of you spend the day together the guys are having such a good time getting pissed and catching up the woman leave them to it and go home together to wait on them. They are a bit drunk as well having been drinking for most of the day."
Thomas stands and motions for Jim and Charlie to move their chairs. "Ok you are in the bar still having a good time and the ladies have gone home."
Karen and Yvonne read the cards inside the envelope in slow motion.
~The women go home and find they have a lot in common enjoying many of the same things. They continue to talk over a bottle of wine and Karen began asking Yvonne all kind of questions. The drunker they become the wilder the questions. Before long, they are playing truth or dare. One dare lead to another and pretty soon, the dares become physical. Before long they are in the middle of a heavy, make out session and don't hear their drunken husband coming through the door. ~
Karen looks at Yvonne who has her eyes closed tight.
Yvonne's feeling of dread was back with full force.
Karen has a flash back of another game of truth or dare she and Yvonne played a very long time ago. She now had the answer to her question why she had stopped being friends with Yvonne and started hating her all those years ago. How could she have forgotten that night? The memories came flooding back, too much to drink a game of truth or dare and a kiss that changed their friendship forever. One kiss that lead to another and than another as she locked eyes with Yvonne again. At that moment, she knew she was remembering that night as well. After that night, it was easier for her to hate Yvonne than to face the feeling she caused so deep inside her.

Chapter 11 (Contibuted by tudy)
Reality…and the group, receded. So many years had passed. But as Karen caught the faintest whiff of Yvonne’s unique fragrance, suddenly she was 19 again. And recalled how it had all gone so irrevocably wrong. And the slap, that was the final shot in the war, against her own, most basic needs.
That night had been warm and humid... June perhaps. A typical college weekend…boys and booze…Yvonne…Maggie…probably Joan…and the endless parade of nameless, faceless boys they drew like bees to honey.
She and Yvonne had been the last two standing. No surprise there! They’d often matched each other dram for dram, in some unacknowledged struggle for supremacy. Though it was an oddity that neither of them had staggered off… a loser…to seek redemption in the arms of the lucky shag of the night.
The short walk from the pub became a drunken marathon. They reveled in the euphoria that lowered their inhibitions…playing a flirty game of Truth or Dare. Speaking frankly for the first time about their hopes and desires.
“Just once…!” Yvonne averred… “Just one fucking time…I’d like…no I’d worship…a lover who spent just one sodding minute, tending to my needs, before galloping over the bleedin’ finish line!!”
“It’s your own fault Vonne.” Karen declared. “You give them that fucking look!”
“What look?…You daft cow!…I don’t have a ‘look’!”
“Don’t come on the innocent with me…You must practice it in front of the bloody mirror! That scorcher…that pins the poor sods to their chairs…The one that says… ‘I’m way too much woman for you…but stick around and just maybe, I’ll take you on the ride of your life!!’….Shit.. no wonder the wankers can’t last. You’ve got them halfway there, before the first kiss!”
“Really?” Yvonne asked archly….. “Only halfway there? I must be losing my touch.” As she flashed a feral grin that said….. ‘I’m gonna’ eat you alive and save some for breakfast!’
Karen felt a shock wave that fluttered at the top of her spine then picked up speed ‘til it slammed right into her groin…Christ! She all but groaned aloud.
The air was soft…stars blazed above…a full moon lit the Common. Yvonne couldn’t miss the stark hunger that flashed in Karen’s eyes and the fear that fought to control it.
“You’re not afraid of me are you Karen?” She asked as she invaded Karen’s personal space.
“Don’t be silly Vonne.” Karen fought to keep her tone even and her feet from stepping back…..Never run …show no fear… animal instinct…murmured in her ear. While every hair on her body rose in protest.
“I know that underneath that hard shell you flaunt…there’s a marshmallow heart …But don’t worry.” She added with false bravado “I’ll keep your little secret.”
“So kind of you mate”…Yvonne whispered her lips only centimeters away…I’ll give you one more of my little secrets to hold then shall I?” Her right hand cupped Karen’s cheek…Eyes fluttered as she leaned into that tender touch. “I think you’re very beautiful…” Yvonne intoned gravely as she drew her thumb ever so slowly across Karen’s lower lip. She leant in …giving Karen every chance to avoid her kiss. But she was already lost…eyes locked on Yvonne’s moist lips…as her pink tongue crept out to wet her own in welcome.
They had spent hours just kissing… Until hands…victims of need …sought out warmth and wet… Conduits of pleasure that connected neural pathways never before explored. Giving was pleasure… virgin territory to be sure. Hunger was vast, but wrapped in a soft cloak of tenderness. Wild at times… so knowing…then soothing… ‘til strength surged again towards an even higher peak.
The robins’ serenade roused them at dawn, from a satiated stupor. Yvonne lurched to her feet and spent a groggy moment fumbling with her zipper and buttoning her blouse. She offered a hand to Karen who needed a robust tug to haul her to a wobbly vertical. Her mouth sought Yvonne’s neck…fastened…then suckled… “ God you taste fantastic…” Her eyes raked down Yvonne’s body. “ Look at that. You need a keeper.”
Yvonne looked down bemused.
“Don’t move.” Karen ordered as she methodically re-buttoned Yvonne’s blouse still hanging askew…
“How am I ever to keep your secret, if you insist on looking so well and truly fucked?”
Yvonne glanced around, taking in their surroundings for the first time…Somehow they’d wandered off the beaten path and found a comfortable bed on the lovingly tended sward of the cricket ground.
Yvonne chuckled ruefully…with not a little wonder…….“Batted for a century last night.”
“Yeah…you did…” Karen responded with awe.
“No love…I was talking about you….” Yvonne was honestly shaken.
That look warmed Karen. A heated flush rose to her cheeks. The added blood flow sped directly north and south…Her brain, functional again, flashed….. Danger! Danger!!
Her mouth opened and their future spilled out.
“That’s what friends are for eh Vonne?…Keeping secrets…and you don’t even have to worship me mate. I was more than happy to lend a hand.”
Karen fought for the right combination of nonchalance and tolerant amusement. She must have got it right.
Yvonne jerked as if slapped…a painful tearing of the bonds they’d woven through the night.
“ Right you are mate…No big fucking deal…Just a bit of fun…An away game….Come on...I’ll walk you home.”
And that had been the end of that… The strange courtship… had ended badly. The unnamed war had begun.
They found fault with ea
