I've always wanted to tell the Helen and Nikki love story in chronological order, but unless you can write and sing your own music, that is almost impossible, so the next best thing for me at least was to find several songs and put them together to try and come up with my vision of events.

This was not created in any one day, one week or one month, this has been haunting me for over 2 years and I don't even want to think about the hours of actual computer time. Let's just say that it was uploaded on October 2, 2007.

It's approx. 19 minutes long, so I had to split it in two on YouTube (since they have time limitations), but you can download the very large file from my website if you like.

This has and is a wonderful message board and so much more, it's been an amazing adventure.

I can imagine the work that went into this. Finding one song where lyrics fit the contents of our favorite couple's story is one thing....this is awesome. To find several and be able to use them chronologically.....I am speechless.
The vid editing was spot-on as usual with content and lyrics; the music editing was great....no jerky transitions.
Ah and you made us wait during " the scene" interrupting with Kelly. But the slo-mo at "a moment like this" ~ niiiiice!

Now don't missunderstand, it may be my last Helen and Nikki video (although my Helen doubts it, she believes I'm just a little burnt out right now), but I'm sure I'll have a few more "All Simone" videos.

As far as not knowing who Kelly Clarkson is different from not liking her music (HF, I'm still shaking my head). She was the first American Idol winner and every time I would listen to her music I'd say damn that song would fit H&N, and that song and that song, so then of course the medley came to mind and the rest is history, thank GOD, I can't believe I'm finally done with this one.

So does this mean you're coming to London next August??? I hear there's something going on there....

As far as Kally Clarkson...I tried to resist her music for a year or so, I am not usaually a "pop" fan, but she grew on me. And, now when my partner's 8 year old daughter listens to her, I don't mind turning it up!! :innocent

I, like you tried to resist anything that began with "Reality TV", but the combination of my gf (being a huge Idol fan) and Kelly growing on me, I had to give in.

No matter the music, there's nothing tortorus about watching Helen and Nikki, you could always turn the sound down..... :D

Oh, OWH, I forgot to tell you how I really liked the way you used black and white with this vid. It seved well to give the story a kind of "flashback" feel to it.

Thanks for noticing, that was my intent a little flash back in the final song of the medley. I feel there was a little more I could have done with this project, but I have to admit that I just couldn't take it anymore and I had to get it done.

I don´t really like Kelly Clarkson but...
I can´t imagine, how it was difficult... how much time... you´ve got a patience and it´s an incredible work....and yes..I admit...I cried in the end...

I'm glad you liked it, even if Kelly's not your favorite singer.

I really couldn't tell you how long this took me, but I did feel exhausted when it was finally done. Not sure if the editing of the video or the editing of the songs was more labor intensive?

I'm looking forward to doing another "All Simone" one, but haven't found the time.

Just watched your 2 part video and thought it was great! You captured all the meaningful moments in a deep love story and found the right music to tell the tale. I am sure that I am older than you because when I think of music to go along with a video of N&H I am thinking of Ella instead of Kelly!! (ha) You have inspired me to try my hand at making a video but beware, the music may freak you out.

I'm sure my age would surprise you (you'd think I'd be too old to have such a "teenage crush" on an actress). Let's just say my first crush was on Lyndsay Wagner (the first and only Bionic Woman, no offense to the Brits and their lovely Michelle Ryan) and I do believe I was a teenager at that time... oh like I care, I'm 44....

Glad you liked the video, as stated earlier in this thread I always wanted to try my best at telling their story in chronological order, but never had the right song and really can you tell their story in a 3-4 minute song? I found it hard enough in 19 minutes.

You'll have to let us all know when you've done your first video.

I am 59... but I can understand your feelings..what is it about Helen that makes us melt?
I have tried to figure this out for myself since I have only started watching BG's in the last year and can't get enough of H&N. anyway, I will let you know when I make the video-have just gotten all 3 series and am using MPEG Streamclip to make into DV then using Imovie to edit. I'm sure it will take me a while...Trying to come up with music that will appeal ...even if it is ancient. Again, good job--make more!

That... was... amazing. I can only imagine the hours of work that went into making it! I made one short video, as an experiment for a bit of fun, and it took me DAYS, and didn't come out nearly as good at this!

The timing was perfect, and you sequenced up the lyrics and mood of the music perfectly with the mood and dialogue of the scenes! You also seem to have ripped EVERY minute of BG!! The breaks between the songs were a little disjointed but I love KC anyway and it doesn't take long to get into it!

I'm with the Youtube poster though, Kelly in the middle is a bit odd... I guess she does deserve to be in there as it's all her music being used but it breaks it up a bit strangely. She doesn't fit into the story or the setting...

But definitely bravo...excellent effort!!
