Well I feel remiss, I should have posted a link to this ages ago--I think it would be a shame if people missed out on this blog. Metasin has obviously gone to a huge amount of trouble to review & write up the episodes she's covered, and I enjoy not only reading them but rereading them: the writing is really good--smart, very funny, with a distinctive voice. (It is fairly idiomatic/slangy, which might be hard for people whose first language is not English, but... worth it!)

I also *really* appreciate the fact that, though she makes a lot of comments about Helen & Nikki's appearances (and why not), for ex--there is very, very little editorializing around their storyline, & no over-interpreting. So if you haven't seen the show, even this late in the day, the blog might give a few spoilers for other characters--but respects the N/H storyline utterly. Have I mentioned how much, in turn, I respect this blog?

Caveat: it's a little tricky to get used to if you haven't encountered webpages like this before, at least I found it so. The entries are in reverse order, so you have to wait for the page to load (which takes awhile--very heavy on images: it is possible to view if you have dial-up but... a bit painful, timewise! :D) & then scroll to the bottom to read the oldest entry first.

(Don't even try to read it all at once!)

I've just dipped into this link and Metasin Girl really knows her Bad Girls and she draws her interpretation with clever, economic and very deft brush strokes. Definitely worth a good read.

Wow, thanks for the shout-out, EK! And you too, Richard :)

I’m a little embarrassed that I haven’t gotten back to the blog in awhile, but I’ve been really busy of late and just haven’t had the time. And yes, I feel guilty about it :(

But anyone who reads it should know several things (in addition to ekny’s caveat): I started the blog totally spur-of-the-moment, and in the midst of a really bad time in my life. I had just discovered Bad Girls, and since I had loads of free time back then, I threw a lot of my energy into the show and blog.

Both of them, Bad Girls and the blog, helped me through a really difficult time. They allowed me a healthy kind of escape, even obsession - and gave me something to concentrate and focus on when I had little concentration or focus for very much else.

Since I wrote most of it at a rather.... frenetic pace, often in the middle of the night and totally amped on coffee, I think it’s still pretty rough around the edges (but I’m rather freakish when it comes to editing my work anyway, so.....). Ideally, I’d edit the entire thing, but that’s just not possible.

While I’d still like at least finish the blog, or at least two S3 recaps, I don't know when I could. Whatever time I have now for writing needs to be for another project I’m working on. I might post about that on the blog, and link it to another site - we'll see.

In the meantime, I think this forum is great! Hands-down, the best place I’ve seen for serious BG discussion. And it’s one show that sure as hell is worthy of discussion, dissection, deconstruction, and overall obsessive rumination ;)

Oh! here’s a thought about the slow-loading of pgs on the blog: it might be easier to click on the ONE recap (or post) you want to read. For example, ekny’s link above takes you to most of April’s posts (which are, like 5 recaps on one page and take *forever* to load). Instead, try clicking on just the “Visiting Time” recap, for example – that will load just that one post on the page, which should make for quicker loading time. I hope that makes sense. Sorry I can’t figure out how else to fix it - I hope that helps!

Hi Metasin Girl. I can understand your point about editing stuff. If you are lucky enough to do writing in a stream of inspiration, it can feel as if you're going against the grain in going into that work and tampering with it and by extension, the inspiration. From looking at what I've seen so far, your writing is 'first take' work which gets it right on the mark and is both very funny and very expressive- for example, I just love your comment on Zandra busting her way through a solid iron gate and the heavy chain.

I understand the personal circumstances that got you to focus in so single mindedly but I'm sure that you have been reassured that you are definitely not alone in that dedication which is fitting for a series like Bad Girls and anything less than that is just plain wrong. While I'm a Brit, I have had my share of pushing up my caffeine tolerance way too high.

I wish you best of luck with the rest of your blog and I'm glad you're happy around here.
