Title: Billy's Legal Analysis (merged)

tamla - April 4, 2008 11:21 PM (GMT)
In this story, Billy gives Helen the full story about the upcoming murder trial of Di Barker and he explains how Di's chances of being free are next to impossible.

It all started one evening when Helen & Nikki were in bed together in their flat in London, watching the evening news and a shocking report came on.

James Graham Fenner, a near twenty two veteran of the Prison Service was brutally murdered after being victim to a vicious stabbing. The number one suspect is his estranged wife Di Fenner, who has worked at Larkhall for the past five years as a Guard. Unfortunately the two who were estranged and in the midst of a bitter divorce upon his death, especially after it was discovered that he was having an affair with a convicted inmate.

Mrs. Fenner is currently being held at Larkhall on suspicion of murder. More details will follow upon receiving them.

"Jesus, I can't beleive he's gone!" murmured Helen.

"Neither can I." replied Nikki. Yet neither one of them had sympathy for the man. During the time that both Nikki & Helen were at Larkhall, Nikki as an inmate, Helen in various work capacities from Wing Govenor, Lifer's Liason not to mention the top position of Governing Govenor, Jim Fenner did everything to make their lives a living hell.

From framing Nikki for drugs, to assaulting Helen to forcing Helen to resign when he found out about her and Nikki's relationship, he did it all, and although Helen knew he had hurt other people, from the late Rachel Hicks, who killed herself to Shell Dockley, a lifer he always got away with everything but not this time.

A couple of minutes later, the phone rang and Helen picked it up.

"Hello." asked Helen.

"Hey, Helen it's me Billy, sorry to call you so late girlfriend, but I was watching the news, did you know this fella who got killed." he asked.

"Yes, he was under my supervision during my time there." replied Helen.

"Jeez, what a SOB, and his wife is in some big bad trouble her being a Prison Guard too." replied Billy.

"Yeah, but this is going to be another scandal at Larkhall." admitted Helen. "So much has happened in there, suicides, murder, bombing, etc." "I am so glad that Nikki & I got out when we did."

"I know what you mean." sighed Helen. "Can you imagine what a commotion it's going to be in the courtroom during her preliminary hearing."

"Yeah, I'm going you know, I'm going to take the day off from work and I'll give you the details when I find them out." replied Billy.

"Whatever news you can give me I'd really appreciate." replied Helen gratefully.

"Sure, anything for an old friend, say hello to Nikki for me." replied Billy.

"Okay, and thanks for calling." replied Helen.

As Helen hung up the phone, she snuggled against Nikki more for comfort and security rather than sex.

"Hey, don't worry sweetheart, he can never hurt as anymore, he hasn't been able to for the past five years." murmured Nikki.

"I know but when I think about how lucky we were and so many people weren't, it just makes me so grateful." replied Helen as she started to cry.

"Shh, here's a tissue, blow your nose." replied Nikki softly. "Listen, Fenner had one of the worst reps at Larkhall, he hurt alot of people, and he's paying for it as is his children and he has nobody to blame but himself." replied Nikki.

"God, can you imagine the women who must be cheering that he's dead." replied Helen. "I can't think of one inmate who can honestly say that they liked him."

"Yeah, but if Di did do this, she's in so much trouble, a screw being an inmate, her life is going to be hell." replied Nikki.

So the two slept in each other's arms and the week was a hectic one.

They got calls from alot of people who knew Fenner from back in the day. Amongst them were Crystal Gordon & Josh Mitchell, who although never had anything bad done to them by Fenner, still had their issues, especially since Fenner did help Daniella Blood aka Denny & Michelle Dockley aka Shell escape.

They took refuge in the house that Crystal & Josh lived in, and Shell backstabbed poor Crystal by getting her sent back to Larkhall for Probation Violation and Sheltering Criminals.

There was also Barbara Hunt who now lived with her husband Rev Henry Mills whose Diary played a major part in Helen being blackmailed into leaving Larkhall, as well as Dominic McCallister who worked under Jim's direction at Larkhall who always defended Shell Dockley even when he knew that Shell was guilty as sin.

As for Monday, it was totally hectic for Di. She got transferred to another Prison, and her life was unbearable and when they found out that she gave her closeted ex husband Neil Grayling a hard time, that was enough to make them detest her.

Upon entering the courtroom, she had photographers and reporters asking all kinds of questions. The room was packed with all kinds of people from "members" of the Atkins Family who still ran the empire although Lauren Atkins, the only surviving member of the family was doing time at Clapton Marsh.

As Billy watched, he saw the jurors and they were an eclectic bunch. There were twelve folks, Six Men & Women but their ethnic backgrounds Billy studied.

There was an older Indian Man with a turban, as well as a younger Black Man, Four White Men, in their fifties, fourties, thirties, and twenties.

As for the Ladies, their was three black women, one in her sixties, one in her thirties, and one in her twenties. The other three where White Women was a lady in her fourties, and two in their thirties.

As for the premilinaries, Di said "Not Guilty" and was sent back to the Prison.

As Billy took notes, he knew that the analysis was not going to bode well especially when the truth came out during the trial. He called Helen & Nikki and asked them to Dinner for Saturday Night for which he would cook and give them the full information.

They agreed and a couple of days later they arrived.

He cooked them Spaghetti with meatless sauce since he knew that Nikki was a Semi Vegetarian, Garlic Bread, and Salad.

They ate ravenously and enjoyed the meal and the Red Wine that Nikki & Helen provided.

Afterwards, they went to Billy's sofa where he bought them Orange Pekoe Tea & Strawberry Shortcake which they enjoyed eating. So after dabbing their mouths, Billy took the plates to the kitchen that he would wash later but kept the tea going that they enjoyed.

"So ladies, this Trial is going to be a mutha, and the only thing that this woman Di has is that everybody hates her." replied Billy softly.

"God, you mean that her chances are nil?" asked Helen.

"Yeah, but you know what happened, a friend of mine whose a clerk at her Lawyer's Office gave me a copy of her testimony and she said that someone else did it, named Julie Johnston." Billy replied.

The minute they heard that, their jaws dropped. Julie Johnston or Julie J as she was known was one of Larkhall's most popular inmates, who along with her best mate Julie Saunders aka Julie S were known as the Two Julies, kind of a comedic double act.

"Why would she say that Julie J. did it, I find that hard to believe?" asked Nikki.

"Because she confessed to the Governing Govenor Joy Masterton & the Wing Govenor Neil Grayling, but when she did it seems that all of the women stood up and said that they killed Fenner, kind of like in Spartacus." explained Billy.

"How did she do it?" asked Helen.

"She took some Water, made it into a dagger made sure it was frozen and stabbed him in the neck, the evidence melted away that's why nobody found anything, the strangest thing was that alot of people wanted to do something to him, including blowing a thorn that was found in his neck, as well as fumes." explained Billy.

"Jeez, that's bizarre but I can't believe that Julie J would do it, she was meek as a lamb." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, but when the trial goes on, some major testimony is going to come to light, in fact they have already given a Writ Of Summons to some people, including his colleagues, past & present, his ex-girlfriends who may talk about the type of guy he was, even his ex-wife who is the mother of his kids."

"Dear God, this woman doesn't have a cat's chance in hell of surviving does she?" asked Helen.

"Nope, it's going to take a miracle or some major testimony to help her and no matter what happens, her life won't be the same." sighed Billy.

"Listen Billy, could you give us any more info as it comes along." asked Helen softly. "We'd really appreciate it."

"It would be my pleasure." smiled Billy.

So the two just hung out, watched some TV and later on Nikki & Helen called it a night. Billy walked them to the door, kissed them both goodbye and asked them to call him to inform him that they got home safely.

TBC.

Wonderful start, waiting for more. :dazzler :dazzler

The weeks went on and Di Barker's trial was the talk of London, England which made headlines from legal to tabloid. She insisted that she didn't do it but after her lawyer discovered some of the things she did in the past, he felt that her chances weren't good at all.

In fact, as the lawyer analyzed her case, she projected the image of being a lonely, desperate lady who couldn't stand others being happy because she was so unhappy.

On this occasion, Billy was invited to Brunch at Helen & Nikki's where they served Eggs, Toast, Jam, Sausages, Fruit Salad, not to mention Coffee, Tea, & Orange Juice.

As he ate, he thanked them over and over for the meal which he enjoyed immensely. He explained that because of his schedule in the daytime, he didn't always have a chance to eat Breakfast. For him it was usually a Coffee and a Muffin.

So after the dishes were cleared and washed since all three of them did it together, they went into the living room where Nikki prepared some more tea.

"So Helen, I have to tell you this trial is really bothering me, in terms of how they handled Julie J's. testimony." admitted Billy with a sigh.

"What do you mean?" asked Helen.

"As far as I'm concerned, the case was botched from day one when Julie J. confessed, think about it she told them what happened, and if I were Wing Governor, I would have done the following steps." he explained.

He explained to them that only Julie J and the Lawyer should have been in a room together, not Neil Grayling and certainly not Di. Since they were married, it would be hard for Neil to be "objective" since the two of them had such a acrimonious past with one another.

"Here's what I would have done." explained Billy.

Step 1: Put Julie in a Private Room and ask her if she wanted a Lawyer and to tell her not to say a damn thing until she has proper legal representation.

Step 2: Once the lawyer came in, remind her that if she said what she said was true, she would be looking at Life without the possibility of parole.

Step 3: Once she admitted what she did, get formally charged, arrested and sent to the Police Station. Stay at the City Jail until a lawyer or public defender could present a good case.

Step 4: Don't send her back to Larkhall, send her to another Prison where she had no ties to anyone and under no circumstance was she to have any contact with anyone especially Julie S. who may try to convince her to change her mind.

"God, you think all of that should have been done?" asked Nikki.

"Yes, and it would have made a world of difference, and also keep in mind that alot of people aren't going to feel sorry for Julie J., as far as they're concerned, she's an over the hill tart and thief, who decided to play God with someone else's life." explained Billy.

"Yeah, but he did so many bad things to people, to some that's his payback." replied Helen.

"Maybe so, but think about it, alot of people had bad things being done to them, yet people don't kill them now do they." "Also, think of all of the other people he hurt, none of them tried to kill him and if they did, it was a well kept secret." explained Billy.

"She's just had such a hard life." replied Nikki softly.

"I understand that, but she's full of self-sabotage, can you honestly say that when you were in Larkhall, she kept ruining things for herself?" asked Billy.

The minute Billy said that, she remembered how upset Julie J. got when Julie S. got to stay at former fellow inmate Monica Lindsay's to serve out the rest of her sentence in a Halfway House. She also remembered how Julie S. begged to be let back in Larkhall which was strange but the most important thing Nikki remembered was that a Knife that was missing was found.

"You know what she did apparently, she stabbed herself in front of Julie S. that scared the hell out of her." Billy admitted.

"Jesus Christ, are you serious!" asked Helen shocked.

"Yes, I'm afraid so but she wasn't exactly Rebecca Of Sunnybrook Farm, she had alot of anger issues and believe it or not, it was directed at you." Billy explained.

"Me?" asked Helen. "What the hell for?"

"She knew that Dominic McCallister liked you, and she liked him alot." "If that weren't creepy enough, she had a shrine to Dominic in her house where she had all kinds of things that belonged to him like his Passport, his Driving Gloves etc." Billy explained.

"God, this woman is insane!" replied Nikki.

"Yeah, so in her mind, you stole her man, so when Jim tried to get you out of Larkhall, she agreed but Jim blackmailed her." explained Billy.

"How." asked Helen.

"It seems that Jim found out that she was beating up on her mother, and used it to his advantage because he told her if she didn't help him, he'd tell everyone what she did and she didn't want anyone to know." explained Billy.

"She beat up on her mother, how cruel is that?" demanded Helen. Then she had what was known as a "lightbulb moment".

It seemed that Crystal Gordon & another Inmate Posh It Girl Charlotte Middleton were both tested for drugs. Charlotte explaiend to Di that she knew her test would be positive but the tests were done anyhow. Di deliberately switched the tests to make it look like Crystal was a druggie but she had an ulterior motive.

"What was that?" asked Nikki.

"After Dominic left Larkhall to live in Greece, she had her sights on Josh Mitchell, who first came to Larkhall as a Handyman, she encouraged him to train to be a PO, he agreed, passed the test with flying colors and started working there, but Di deluded herself into thinking Josh owed her." explained Billy.

"Oh, God, I have a feeling this story is going to get worse." replied Nikki.

"It does, it seemed that after Josh finished his training, Di kept bugging him to go out and have a drink with her. Josh politely said no but Di persisted." "Then one night Di followed Josh home in her car, saw Crystal at the front door, and added two and two together."

"When Crystal got sent back to Larkhall, Di sweet talked Crystal into admitting that they were a couple, Gina Rossi, another guard told Josh that Di told her that the two of them were a couple, it wasn't true but Josh added two and two together and realized that Di was lying the whole time about Crystal."

"She went to his flat, he told her off saying she was a liar and that he never had any interest in her." "He even called her on what she did with the piss tests and she pleaded with Josh not to be angry with her saying that she would lose her job if anyone found out and that she had to take care of her mother, she needed the money, etc."

"Damn, what a pathetic excuse." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, when I heard about that, it reminded me of the scene in "School Ties" that Matt Damon did in the early days of his career. "He played Dilllon whose character tried to frame David Greene a scholarship student on a cheating charge, David confronted Dillon and Dillon pleaded his case saying how hard it was to live up to the family name, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't do it." answered Billy.

"That explains why she was so self-defensive when I questioned her, whining saying her whole life was a Piss Test." sighed Helen. "I should have brought Crystal in and made Di apologize to her and myself, I didn't give Crystal a good character reference although I knew she was anti-drug from day one."

"Why didn't you?" replied Billy.

"She was an inmate who although I liked, got on my nerves with her religious jargon, my father's a minister and I heard enough of that growing up." sighed Helen.

"So what happened afterwards." asked Nikki.

"She and Josh made up, they got married thanks to another inmate named Barbara Hunt who is a lay preacher, and had their wedding night in a Linen Closet." laughed Billy.

"Hmm, very interesting, so what else happened after leaving Larkhall." asked Nikki.

"Well, Shell Dockley & Denny Blood finally got caputured." "Denny first, and Di started dating a fella named Barry Pearce, he abused her emotionally and physically, not to mention attack Barbara Hunt & Shazz Wiley." explained Billy.

"Dear God, that's horrible." sighed Helen.

"I know, but she didn't see it that way." explained Billy. "She was so desperate for love, she thought that the problems in their relationship was "her" fault and not his, fortunately she did see the light and broke up with him."

"Well, some good came out of that." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, but it only gets worse, she married a man that was in many ways just as bad for her." explained Billy.

"Who was it?" asked Helen.

"Neil Grayling." replied Billy.

"You mean the man who became Governing Govenor." asked Nikki.

"Yeah, and he only got the job because he got caught doing the nasty with the Vicar at the men's." explained Billy. "Dirty assed little fucker, and I'm not saying this because he's gay, from what I've heard, he's very sneaky and his sneakiness caught up to him."

"What do you mean?" asked Helen.

"He always had an agenda that suited his purposes instead of the Prison's purposes, he demoted Karen Betts and made Fenner Wing Governor, and if that weren't enough to beat the band, he asked Jim to live with him as a Boarder but he wanted to take the relationship further to the point, that he tried to get all up in that." explained Billy.

"Oh, god are you serious?" asked Nikki.

"Yeah, and although Fenner wanted to sue him for sexual harassment, Neil thrwarted his plans by reminding Jim about a "Sexual Assault" charge he did on you, is that true? asked Billy.

"Yes." replied Helen softly.

"Well Jesus Helen, why didn't you tell someone, not saying anything made him and every man think it's okay to treat a lady with disrespect." asked Billy.

"At that time, I was working overtime to get Nikki out, and remember he had a history of abusing the women and he always got away with it, I felt that at that time that nobody would believe me, even when I told Karen Betts about how evil Jim was, she didn't believe me." explained Helen.

"That dirty assed little bitch, I'm glad she got hers eventually." replied Billy.

"What do you mean?" asked Nikki.

"She got raped, and Fenner later framed her for a hit and run." Billy explained. "Now don't get me wrong, I felt bad that she got violated but when she got arrested in Larkhall in front of everyone, she at least had an idea of what it's like not to be believed."

"Oh, God, we had our differences but I didn't want this to happen to her, what did she do?" asked Helen.

"Well, she went to a cop and explained but since she did have a "personal" relationship with the man, Fenner may have looked at her tenderness for something sexual." sighed Billy.

"Damn him." sighed Nikki. "Did Karen get convicted?"

"Almost but through the grace of god and a Videotape, she got cleared, Fenner started dating Di and they got married and at their reception, Neil and Karen told everyone what Jim did, and since the date was there in black and white, he was scewed." "Di even tried to say that it wasn't true but Sylvia Hollamby attested that Di and she were together on the first year anniversary of her husband's death."

"God, how humiliating is that." asked Helen softly.

"Uh huh, and he got a major can of ass-whipping in the showers, he didn't get raped but a group of fellas beat the mess out of him using a mop." explained Billy.

"Well somebody actually gave him a taste of his own medicine." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, but he got out when Di helped him." explained Billy. "The man is a nutcase, to the point that in a storage room he had rented out, there was a pictorial shrine to Karen, when Di saw that, she should have left him in jail to rot, but she felt that Jim was her last chance at love." replied Billy.

"Because things went bad with Neil?" asked Helen.

"Yeah, that marriage was a sham from day one, he's gay, she "knew" he was gay and they decided to have "others" on the side, the point is that Neil bought his boy-toy Tony in the house to live with them, and then Di tried using Tony to get pregnant to hold on to Neil by saying the child was his, but instead she got a STD." replied Billy.

"So they got divorced." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, but there were other problems, most notably Sylvia Hollamby." explained Billy.

"Why her?" asked Helen.

"Well, after her husband lost his business, they were in deep debt, he tried to get a job as a Guard at Larkhall, but because he had been out of the service for such a long time, Neil felt that his qualifications didn't measure up to a job there, it's like not being in the Workforce for Ten Years, and trying to find a job not knowing any Computer Programs, E-Mails, etc." replied Billy.

"Hmm, that must have been hard." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, but when he explained that he didn't pass the interview, Sylvia hollered at him, and he felt so awful he killed himself by turning on the gas in his car." replied Billy. "As you know Insurance Companies never pay when there's a suicide and since they were in deep debt, she lost the house."

"God, so did she end up homeless?" asked Helen.

"Nope, she became the houseguest from hell, but she managed to find herself a place where alot of the guards have a residence." he explained. "Sadly enough she too became a victim of Fenner."

"How?" asked Nikki.

"She was left alot of money by her late aunt and there was a stipulation that she couldn't remarry because she didn't want a spouse to enjoy the money, but she didn't listen, got married and although her husband was only marrying her for the money and Fenner knew, he didn't say anything, and neither did Di." replied Billy.

"What poor bloke would want to marry her?" asked Helen.

"Dr. Malcolm Nicholson." replied Billy.

"Ugh, at Larkhall he was known as Dr. No-No, because he wouldn't give drugs to the ladies even when they were desperate." laughed Nikki.

"Yeah, but while they were on their honeymoon, Sylvia told the truth, Malcom tried to kill her but fortunately she was saved by two escaped inmates, named Phyl & Bev, they were both sent back to Larkhall, but the whole thing traumatized Sylvia for a long time."

"I can imagine, so what kind of support did she give Di throughout this ordeal." asked Helen.

"Not much, especially since Di and Jim didn't tell her about Malcolm and then she did two other things that would seal her fate, one involving a car and the other involving a baby." explained Billy.

"What did she do." asked Nikki.

"Her and Fenner had a hard time of it and she wrote Bastard on his car, after she found out he had a vasectomy and that they couldn't have a child together even though he told her he didn't want to be a parent." explained Billy. "It got worse, she tried to take an inmate's baby and pass it off as her own to the point that she framed the child's mother for drugs by pouring drugs in her tea."

"Christ is this woman crazy or what?" asked Nikki.

"The woman's name was Sheena and when she added two and two together, she didn't say anything, she just wanted out of Larkhall and although it was hard, she got out, and is now living with her son Dylan." replied Billy.

"So how are the two Julies doing, I mean will they ever get out." asked Helen.

"They almost did, but once again it was self-sabotage." On the day they got released, Julie J found out that Julie S was going to re-unite with her ex-husband Trevor and her son David and that they were going to try to make it as a family, however they got re-arrested for working as The Two Trudys under Virginia O'Kane."

"Oh, God, that's why they came back, they never said why because they were too embarassed and ashamed." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, but it got worse, her daughter Rhiannon came in and got sentenced to 16 Days for Shoplifiting, they found out that she was a Teen Prostitute and that her boyfriend Damien was making her work the stroll, so they created a bogus VO for him, and took a pot of water and scaled his balls." explained Billy.

"My God, when it rains it pours for some people." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, and get this, Rihannon testified against her mother as did Sylvia, and that was enough so they got eight years for GBH, you what the saddest part was that if they hadn't done what they did to Damien, they would have gotten free because all of the evidence pertaining to Virginia O'Kane was destroyed." sighed Billy.

"Listen, is there anything we can do for those two." asked Nikki.

"Just pray and hope that everything turns out all right, but it won't since Julie J is now Bipolar and they might think that she "lied" about killing Fenner." explained Billy.

"May God help those two women, personally thinking I feel as though Julie S. would be better off without Julie J., she's too destructive and too co-dependent on one another." sighed Helen.

"Yeah, but nobody can help Julie S, except Julie S.,." replied Nikki. "Let's just hope that everything works out all right."

"Yeah." agreed Billy.

So after he left, Nikki & Helen spent the day just watching TV. They didn't eat a heavy dinner but they did both hope and pray that Justice would be served for all concered.

Hi guys.

I found some time to write some more.

Now like before although I didn't say. I don't own the rights to BG, Shed Productions for the characters.

As Di Barker's trial continued, it would rivet the city of London England. It was used by everyone to teach young women as well as men about how dangerous love can be and how you must never scheme to get what you want in life because it always comes back to you.

As for Billy Tyler, a lawyer who specialized in adoption and fostering, the case was something that fascinated him, especially since it played a major part in the life of Helen Stewart.

They first met nearly twenty years ago as students at Uni and were buddies, hanging out and studying law hoping to make a difference. Helen was a former Wing Govenor at Larkhall, a notorious women's prison but after being blackmailed by Jim Fenner to leave after he found out about her relationship with her Life Partner Nikki Wade who at the time was serving Life for murdering a police officer, she had no choice.

Fortunately, Helen found employment as a Wing Governor at Crow's Hall, the Open Prison where Posh It Girl Charlotte Middleton was sent as well as other former inmates like Daniella Blood & Cassie Tyler & Roisin Connor.

Yet as a friend and confidante, Billy was able to supply the ladies with updates from the trial that was quite mesmerizing. He was able to contact them with new information and offered to buy some pizza and bring it over in his Daewoo Lanos.

They agreed, and they provided a Salad and various drinks from Wine, Cola Drinks as well as Tea.

Since Billy knew that Nikki was a semi-vegan, one part just had cheese, while the other parts had vegetables, and pepperoni.

They ate on Paper Plates to save any dishwashing and just talked about how their week went. Nikki told them about the progress on her latest book, Helen told them about how her latest inmate was making outstanding progress and Billy told them about the business he was getting from various clients.

After eating, Billy sat them down and told them about how Sylvia Hollamby came to take the stand.

"I'll tell you one thing, she certainly sabotaged Di's defense." replied Billy with a sigh.

"How do you mean?" asked Nikki.

"A part of her never forgave Di nor Fenner for all the private hell they put her through, it seems that Daniella Blood admitted that Fenner helped her and Shell Dockley get out of Larkhall a couple of years ago." he explained.

"Yeah, but how was that Di's fault?" asked Helen.

"Well, it wasn't but anyone who associated with Fenner had to be bad news, and remember when Sylvia wanted to confront Daniella aka Denny about it, Fenner told her not to worry, he'd take care of it, in reality, he was scared at what would happen to him." replied Billy.

"That's Fenner for you, covering his tracks." sighed Nikki.

"Yeah, but not telling Sylvia about Dr. Nicholson wasn't exactly being a good friend either, and remember how Fenner backstabbed Sylvia in the past especially when it came to Karen Betts?" Billy explained.

"What are you talking about?" asked Helen.

"It seemed that one time Sylvia got very careless, and Sharon Wiley & Denny took her keys, ran around Larkhall and joked around, Sylvia admitted her carelessness, Karen went ballistic and screamed at her." replied Billy.

"Oh God, she must have been shitting bricks." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, and considering how she was getting on Karen's last nerve, this was the one thing that bit the straw that broke the camel's back." "Remember, her work performance wasn't exactly up to par." explained Billy.

"How do you mean?" asked Nikki.

"She messed up big time, mistaking a Lawyer for an Escort, The Key situation, and then complaining about her health, so Karen took away her Pips and told her she had to take a paycut in salary, and even lose her pension, and this time Fenner didn't have her back because he had his own problems, and he didn't have time to worry about Sylvia." replied Billy.

"Jeez, she's lucky she didn't get sacked for it." replied Helen. "I'm sure if it had been anyone else she would have gotten kicked out, no second or third chances."

"Yeah, but this lady could "lie" bragging on about how to do Computer Programs and she couldn't so she got Barbara Hunt to do all of the work for her which I don't think was a smart thing to do." explained Billy.

"What work was that specifically?" asked Nikki.

"Creating a program using Excel to determine who spent the most in their account, but Cassie Tyler & Yvonne Atkins fudged the program to add money instead of subtracting." giggled Billy.

"Is it that easy to do?" asked Helen shocked.

"Oh yeah, even little kiddies could do what Barbara did, I have to admit something to you, when I bought my IPOD, I had to get my cousin Sam to help me program it, just a couple of clicks with the mouse, and you're home free." replied Billy.

"Oh boy, what a laugh." giggled Nikki.

"So what else happened?" asked Helen.

"The defense reminded her of how nice Di & Neil Grayling were to let her stay with them after she ended up homeless but as the saying goes "Houseguests are like Fish, after a couple of days, they start to smell." giggled Billy.

"That's funny, I never heard that before." laughed Helen.

"Yeah, but when you stay with someone, don't look at that time as "permanent", I'll give you an example, my cousin & his wife and their two kids went to live with his mother for awhile and my aunt reminded him that he had at least three to six months to find another place, he was upset with her but in the end she did him a favor." laughed Billy.

"Yeah, I remember on The Cosby Show how discouraged Cliff & Clair were when "all" of the children and their spouses lived in the house at the same time." replied Nikki.

"Exactly, I've also been in that situation in which another one of my cousins tried to get too comfortable in my home, but I didn't allow it, instead I took the paper, circled some places and said "Start Looking", I'll even go with you to check them out." replied Billy.

"Yeah, that was a smart thing to do, good for you." smiled Helen.

"So what else happened?" asked Nikki.

"Just a couple of other questions, how well she was as a co-worker, was she professional at all times, and how did she react when she got demoted from Wing Govenor back to PO." explained Billy.

"Wait a minute, she was doing my old job?" asked Helen.

"Yeah, and she didn't do a very good job unfortunately, half the time she had the cons locked up because it was the only way she could keep track of them, and when a new lady named Frances Myers came in, she rocked the house." explained Billy.

"In what way?" asked Helen.

"She came in undercover, as a hooker saw the work behavior of Sylvia and Di, and then surprised the staff when she revealed her true identity, she was formerly employed as a Detective, and boy where her staff surprised especially when she sacked them." explained Billy.

"Wait, they ended up jobless." asked Helen.

"No, she threw a scare into them but she was tough but fair, I actually know her from the club scene and she's really cool, in fact she even made Sylvia take a Race Relations Course." replied Billy.

"Wow, a small world." smiled Nikki.

"Yeah, but Di's temper is going to be her downfall, it seems that she carved queer on Neil's desk which was a very bad thing to do." replied Billy.

"She did that?" asked Helen.

"Yeah, and the worst part was that The Gay Community are going to hate her for saying something so degrading, it's like someone carving the "N" word on my desk." explained Billy.

"Also, let's not forget what she did to Fenner's Car." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, as much as I hate to say this ladies, guys are very childish and macho when it comes to their cocks and cars, remember when that US Woman Lorena Bobbit cut her husband's dick off during an argument, my father said to my mother, if you ever did that just kill me, because I could never recover from that." Laughed Billy.

"Yeah, I also remember seeing scenes in which men's cars are destroyed because of some woman, remember what happened in Fatal Attraction?" replied Helen.

"Yeah, you're right as well as the UK Version of Queer As Folk, not to mention a movie that I saw called Barber Shop." answered Billy.

"I never heard of that movie, what's it about really?" asked Nikki.

"It's about a guy who owns a Barber Shop in Chicago, IL. and the goings on in there, and there was one scene in which a guy was getting his hair cut and a lady was smashing his brand new car, he ran out nearly cried when he saw the damage and found out that the woman who did it smashed the "wrong" car." replied Billy.

"Oh, Jesus he must have went ballistic." replied Helen with a laugh.

"He did, but he calmed down and they worked everything out." replied Billy.

"However, Di's defense is going to have to do some major damage control, and right now only a handful of people are going to testify who are Denny Blood, Cassie Tyler, Roisin Conor and Julie S."

"Hmm, this should be interesting." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, but she's not out of the woods yet by a long shot and if those ladies can help her in anyway, all the power to her." Helen replied.

"I think that what gets me is how foolish women are when it comes to men after all of these years, there are self-help books, seminars, lecutures and the like but they still don't listen." sighed Billy. "It's just as bad on US Soil.

"What do you mean?" asked Nikki.

"My cousin Cheryl is a Lawyer in Los Angeles, and we've managed to stay in touch for the past twenty five years, we've written to each other, and given each other clips on news stories, I even sent her one about Deidre on Coronation St. being arrested that she had a good laugh at." giggled Billy.

"Hey, that's cool I think it's great that you have relationships with your US Family." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, but as the years went on she sent me some amazing stories case in point."

Jean Harris: Got sentenced to 15 Years to Life for murdering her boyfriend Diet Doctor Herman Hy Tarnower in 1981, was sent to Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in Upstate New York (aka The Female Equivalent of Alcatraz) got pardoned in 1993 on December 29, by then govenor Mario Cuomo, during her time in prison, she appealed, pleaded for clemency (aka mercy) and lost and suffered two heart attacks. The first time she had one they sent her to the hospital in chains and handcuffs.

Second time, she refused treatment and even when her mother died, she didn't go to the funeral because it would mean wearing a jumpsuit saying Dept of NY Corrections.

Susan Smith: Got two consecutive life sentences for murdering her two young sons. Wanted to divorce her husband to run off with her lover. Posted her picture on the Internet using an alternative name, and got all kinds of letters from would be suitors.

Jean Smart: Former High School English Teacher who plotted with her teenaged student and lover to kill her husband so they could collect the insurance money and run off together ala (Body Heat). Serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole who was sent to the same prison that Jean Harris was sent to.

Got a Law Degree and now suffers from chronic pain due to a fight she got into with two other inmates.

Amy Fisher, the Long Island Lolita, had an affair with a married man Joey Buttafuco, shot his wife who is partially paralyzed in the face for the rest of her life. Also, ended up at Bedford Hills. Got released but admitted on Oprah she was raped by guards but fellow inmates were kind and compassionate to her.

"Christ, these women are crazy." declared Helen.

"Yeah, I was even reading on the Internet about these US Rap Stars who get in trouble because of some fella." replied Billy. "You know who said the same thing, Margie Clarke who played Jackie Dobbs, Tyrone's mother on Corrie in the 1990's."

"She was so spot on." sighed Nikki. "Which Rap Star are you talking about?"

"Kimberly Jones, aka L'il Kim." replied Billy. "You may remember she was in the Video for Jay Z's "Give It To Me", and she was in a movie called Juwanna Man about a guy who pretends to be a girl to play professionally."

"Oh, now I remember her, what did she do?" asked Helen.

"She lied to the Grand Jury of NY about a shooting, she was protecting a guy who was only using her to try to get into the Rap Music Scene, and because of her lying, she got sentenced to 365 Plus A Day in Prison." explained Billy.

"God, that's awful." replied Nikki.

It all started ss they left the building, a shootout broke out between members of her entourage and rival group Capone-N-Noreaga.

The group had challenged their rivals about an insult aimed at Jones by another female rapper, Foxy Brown, in a song called Bang Bang.

"You mean that she got in trouble because of hearsay?" asked Helen.

"Yep, that's what makes me so angry about the Rap Community, someone always starts trouble and then it gets so out of hand, that you never know what really happened, kind of like Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G."

"That's a shame." sighed Nikki. "She had so much to live for and she damn near threw it all away. "So what did she do?"

"Yeah, and she did a reality show on BET (aka Black Entertainment Television) produced by Tracey Edmonds (former Wife of Record Producer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and Eddie Murphy for a hot minute), called "Days Until Lockdown".

"So what happened on the show." asked Helen.

"They just showed her life "before" going to Prison, and all of the drama she has, with her assistants, friends, co-workers, hanging out with her friend Fashion Designer Marc Jacobs etc, and if that weren't bad enough another co-worker had to go to Prison too for lying to protect Kim." explained Billy.

"Why would her friend lie for her?" asked Nikki.

"Loyalty, I guess and remember at that time, Kim was hotter than hell, and in the Black Rap Community, you never backstab no matter what." explained Billy. "Also, when she was caught lying, she apologized saying how sorry she was, but the jury felt it was too late, she lied and she had to pay."

"You know not to compare apples to oranges but it kind of reminds me of The Two Julies, in terms of not grassing on each other." sighed Nikki.

"Where did she go, did she go to Bedford Hills?" asked Helen.

"No, she went to a Prison in Philadlephia, PA but I remember my cousin sending me the DVD's that she burned for me, and it was so sad, she drove in a Jeep from NY to Philly which was about three hours away, she was wearing Jeans, a T-Shirt, No Makeup, no Hair Extensions, if anything she looked meek, lost and very humble." replied Billy.

"So what happened to her, is she still in Prison?" asked Nikki.

"Nope, she got out around July 4th the following year in 2006, she's alot more quieter and humble and now she's a judge on a US Reality Show called "Girlicious" in which Robin Antin, who created The Pussycat Dolls, is trying to create a new Girl Group and Kim is one of the judges."

"When I think of Kim, I also remember what happened with Lisa "Left Eye Lopes" from TLC when she burned her boyfriend's house down." sighed Helen.

"Yeah, but Lisa had alot of "emotional" problems before TLC, her father abandoned her, her mother couldn't raise her for awhile, her grandmother abused her, and her former manager Perri "Pebbles" Reid screwed her and the other two girls in a contract." explained Billy.

"Was she related to that guy LA Reid?" asked Helen.

"Yes, they were once husband and wife but she had legal battles with him as well as TLC, she's now a Born Again Christian, and a minister who even tried to help Bobby Brown & Whitney Houston with their marital woes." answered Billy.

"Yeah, but look at what happened to Lisa, I don't think Di would be in that same situation." sighed Nikki.

"Maybe not but they were in the same boat in the sense that they went with Bad Boys and paid the price, Di's in Prison and Lisa almost ended up in Prison." replied Billy.

"Yeah, so all we have to do is wait." sighed Nikki.

"Jeez, the time has gone on so much, I gotta split, I have some stuff to take care of tomorrow." replied Billy.

"Well, thanks alot for the Pizza and giving us a progress report." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, don't worry about it." "When I hear some new info, I'll let you know." replied Billy.

So after driving off, Nikki locked the door and smiled at Helen.

"Billy's one in a million isn't he." she replied.

"Yeah, so we just have to wait for the new chapter." Helen replied.

As they walked upstairs arm in arm, they knew that the worst was far from over.

tamla - April 13, 2008 07:46 PM (GMT)
Hi guys,

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I would like to state that I made a little "typographical" error on my last story.

Instead of saying "Pam Smart" I accidentally said "Jean Smart" whom as you know was on "Designing Women" in the 1980's. Please forgive this mistake that I made. Sometimes the hand is quicker than the eye.

The weeks went on in terms of Di Barker Fenner's Trial and the testimony was to put it mildly damaging to her trial. Even her lawyer knew that getting her acquitted was like finding a Needle in a sky high Haystack.

However, thanks to his contacts, Billy Tyler a Lawyer was able to get info that helped him analyze the case that he shared with Helen Stewart and her life partner Nikki Wade.

Billy and Helen went back nearly twenty five years as students at Uni in the 1980's and lost contact with each other after graduation. Helen worked in the Prison System for several years most notably at Larkhall where she met Nikki who at the time was doing life for killing a cop named Gossard who tried to rape her then girlfriend and business partner Trisha.

Thanks to Helen's best friend Claire and her associate Marion, Nikki was released and together they started a brand new life. Nikki was now a successful novelist who was the hottest British Import next to JK Rowling, Helen Fielding & Sophie Kinsella.

Helen on the other hand worked at Crow's Hall, and "Open" Prison which would have been called "Camp Croissant" because it was much more easier and relaxed and the women who did time there were inmates for lesser offenses such as forging signatures for prescription drugs, sales fraud and the like.

Billy on the other hand was a Lawyer who specialized in finding good homes for children who needed to be adopted or fostered and many of the women whom he worked with were former inmates of various prisons.

So as he studied the files of Di's case, he invited Helen & Nikki over to his place where he waited for them and asked what they would like to eat. On this particular night, they ordered Lebanese Food which consisted of Shish Taouk Sandwiches, Chips, & Cola Drinks.

After ravenously eating, Billy brewed some Tea and they sat down and reviewed the latest from the trial.

"You know the more testimony I read, the more of a villianess Di seems to be." replied Billy.

"How do you mean?" asked Nikki.

"Because she was indirectly responsible for a death a couple of years ago." explained Billy.

"What are you talking about?" asked Helen.

"Do you guys remember Gina Rossi?" asked Billy.

As they heard Gina's name, they giggled. Gina was a bit of a loudmouth who was transferred from another Prison. Her boyfriend Mark Waddle was also employed at Larkhall but theirs was not a happily ever after.

It seemed that Di had a history of going after other women's men and after Josh told her to get lost, she went after Mark, shagged him in The Men's at the Officer's Hall, and when Gina found out she was furious.

She and Di went at it, Gina lost her balance, fell and suffered a miscarriage. This surprisingly ended the relationship and Gina transferred to Men's to stay away from Mark.

Di felt horrible, but since she wasn't put in Jail and since nobody found out, she was comparitively safe.

"Christ, doesn't this woman know not to go after another woman's boyfriend?" asked Helen.

"Yeah, but you know the saying, Desperate Times Mean Desperate Measures." Billy explained. "Yet, the one thing that she has going is that the was some positive testimony from Denny Blood & Buki Lester."

"You've got to be kidding, those two are absolutely horrible!" replied Nikki.

"Well, maybe when you knew them, but they both cleaned up their act for the better." explained Billy.

"As you know Denny & Shell Dockley were still on the run when you left Larkhall Nikki, but they were eventually caught." "Denny was brought back from Spain while Shell managed to escape, Hollamby was still very furious with Denny and she let her know how much trouble she was in."

"God, I can imagine after scaring her and her husband Bobby." sighed Helen.

"Yeah, but Yvonne Atkins became more of a mentor to her, and through Yvonne's influence, Denny softened and tried to be nicer to everyone although it was very hard at times, especially with her mother Jessie." Billy replied.

"Yeah, I almost forgot about Jessie, how's she doing?" asked Nikki.

"She died a couple of years ago, drank herself to death." replied Billy sadly.

The minute she heard that, Nikki almost cried. She remembered how depressed and sad Jessie was after all of G Wing discovered how she gave Denny up for adoption, and even encouraged Jessie to write down why she really left.

Although the two made peace with each other, and Yvonne gave Jessie money through her daughter Lauren, Jessie's love for the bottle made her a bad woman to be around and when Denny was on a outside visit, saw her mother making a drunken spectacle of herself, for Denny that was the final straw.

"Damn, what a shame." sighed Helen. "I remember when we put her on the block to dry out, but it didn't seem to do any good, she was only there for a couple of weeks so it didn't seem to matter."

"Yeah, but nobody could stop Jessie from drinking except Jessie, and Denny couldn't be her co-dependant." reminded Billy.

"So what's Denny doing now?" asked Nikki.

"She found her calling as an Artist and is doing quite well for herself." replied Billy. "She also managed to get her GED through alot of hard work and studying, and does lectures to teach young people about the dangers of Prison and not being literate."

"Well, that's great, but how did Di fix into that?" asked Helen.

"She comforted her when she saw her mother making a fool out of herself, and even told Denny to never return to Larkhall when she went to open, and she even took Buki & Crystal out for outside visits with their babies." explained Billy.

"Wait a minute, Crystal wasn't pregnant when I was there?" replied Nikki.

"No, she found out on the day you left Larkhall." explained Billy. "She tried to say that it was some miracle, because she didn't want Josh to get into trouble but when he found out, he resigned rather than have Karen fire him."

"Hmm, that was quite honorable." smiled Helen.

"As for Buki, she found her calling as a Baby Care Helper, working with a little boy named Baxter who along with his mother Spike had AIDS, and she was really good to him, playing with him, feeding him, changing him, she couldn't love the child any more than it was her own." replied Billy softly.

"Oh, I didn't know she had it in her." replied Nikki. "I'm very impressed."

"Yeah, but poor Baxter died and although I don't know what happened to his mother, she's probably dead too." replied Billy sadly.

"So basically they helped with Di's testimony showing that she wasn't all bad right?" asked Helen.

"Yeah, but no matter how good you try to be, one slip up and a person pays a high price." replied Billy. "Remember The Peckham Boot Gang?"

The minute their names were said, a chill went down Nikki's spine. This was because Maxi Purvis, the leader who along with her sister Tina and a friend Al McKenzie, found out that a new inmate Caroline was a Nonce aka child predator and pornographer and told everyone.

To make matters worse was that Nikki almost had a relationship with her but Helen intercepted it by transferring Caroline to another prison before any major damage was done.

"Yeah, what happened to them?" asked Helen.

"They pretty much dug their own graves." replied Billy. "There was a kickboxing match, it got violent, and Barbara Hunter told the new Vicar Henry Mills about it, and Shazz got transferred and guess who authorized that."

"Who?" they chorused.

"Hollamby." Billy replied. "It seems that she was Wing Govenor for a hot minute and since she never forgave Shell or Denny for hurting her and her husband Bobby, she felt she was justified in doing what she did."

"Poor Denny, she must have been crushed." sighed Nikki.

"Yeah, and to make things worse, she almost attacked Hollamby, got sent to the block and celebrated her 21st Birthday on Segregation." explained Billy.

"That's really sad." replied Helen. "She had such a history of violence & bullying, in fact I had to discipline her twice and I don't think it did much good."

"Yeah, and when she and Shazz tried to escape, Buki found out about it, wanted in on the plan and almost died when she hid in the tunnels of the Potting Shed, those two were so angry at Buki, they sent her a bogus Love Letter from some guy who didn't even exist and when she realized what happened, she was so upset she tried to kill herself." replied Billy.

"Damn, so what happened?" asked Nikki.

"She went to the doctor, got some help and although they did apologize, I feel that Shazz going to another Prison was a blessing in disguise, let's face facts, if she wasn't going to grow up, there's no way Denny would have tried either." explained Billy.

"You've got a point there but they were so inseperable together, Denny was really happy with her." sighed Nikki. "Is she at the other Prison?"

"No, Shazz died thanks to an insider." replied Billy softly.

"No, please tell me that's not true?" pleaded Helen.

"I thought you knew?" replied Billy.

"No, I made it a very strict rule not to associate with anyone from Larkhall, too many memories, too many ghosts." sighed Helen.

"Well, it was under devastating circumstances, she was visiting Denny during an "Visitors Day" and they were in a room with Mushrooms, a fire took place, and in her stoned state of mind, she thought she was floating, by the time she realized what was happening to her, it was too late." sighed Billy.

"Who was this insider?" asked Nikki.

"Her real name was Tracy Pilkington, but everyone called her Snowball Merriman, she was a Porn Star in the USA who killed a fella and came here to England instead, in fact she lead everyone to believe that she "was" an American because of her accent." explained Billy.

"Hmm, that's sick." replied Helen.

"Yeah, but if that weren't bad enough, her boyfriend was Yvonne Atkins son named Ritchie." sighed Billy. "They were in cahoots to get Snowball out of Larkhall and try to scam Yvonne out of $50,000.00 in the process, and Ritchie was a real SOB, he had an affair with Karen Betts too."

"No she didn't!!!" howled Helen.

"Yes, and by the time she realized he was using her, it was too late." sighed Billy. "She was a prime suspect since a gun went missing."

"You know we had our share of differences and I now realize why she had a soft spot for Fenner, after rescuing her from Mad Tessa Spall, she probably felt that he wasn't that bad after all." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, that's a good point." sighed Billy.

"Say, did Julie J. ever try to help Di?" asked Nikki.

"Nope, and she probably won't because they won't believe her." sighed Billy. "You know the more I think about The Two Julies, I think that they need to be separated too, they just bring each other down."

Billy then explained about what went on after Nikki left Larkhall. Besides getting eight extra years, they also went through their own problems.

Neil Grayling put them on Basic where they lost all of their privileges as though they were starting from Square One, Julie S started taking College Courses but almost stopped because Julie J. thought it was a waste of time, and she also got Breast Cancer but it was caught earlier.

"Dear God, when it rains it pours." sighed Helen.

"Yeah, in fact Breast Cancer is next to AIDS, the top disease that kills women of this generation." replied Billy. "My mother's girlfriend got it back in the 1980's, and died."

"God, I'm sorry to hear that." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, but the most important thing I've learned about those two is that sometimes it's too easy to be too loyal to a friend." explained Billy. "I'll tell you a story that reminds me alot of those two."

So he told them the "untold story" of the legendary Motown Group The Temptations.

"Out of all of the fellas, Eddie Kendricks & Paul Williams knew each other the longest." explained Billy. "They grew up in Birmingham, Alabama which was a county away from Montgomery that started the Bus Boycott after Rosa Parks was arrested for not giving up her seat to a White Man.

"I remember reading about that in History Class." replied Helen.

"Yeah, so in their early twenties, Paul convinced Eddie to leave Birmingham in which they moved to Detroit, Michigan with their friend Kell Osborne and became "The Primes" who were managed by a guy named Milton Jenkins.

"Hmm, I didnt' know all about that." replied Nikki.

"So after Kell leaves the group, Eddie & Paul meet Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin, & Eldridge Bryant of a group called The Distants, they change their name to The Elgins (after the wristwatch) and audition for Motown Records and change their name to The Temptations."

"Eldridge gets fired in 1963 at a New Year's Eve Party, David Ruffin takes Al's place as he is known and in 1964, they finally have their first hit record "The Way You Do The Things You Do" written by Smokey Robinson and later covered by UB40."

"Yeah, I remember watching the video." laughed Nikki. "Poor fellas, not getting a home cooked meal."

"Yeah, so for the next four years, everything is going great, Hit records, Tours, TV Appearances, and of course coming to Europe as part of the UK Motortown Revue." explained Billy. "Yet in 1968, ugliness and egos start making themselves felt, David Ruffin gets fired for being a egotist."

"Then the fellas have trouble with Paul's drinking and he got Cirrhosis which is the Liver Disease, they did everything to help him, holler, threaten, plead whatever but because he was an "Old Friend" and since Rehab or AA wasn't really available it was a hopeless case."

"Damn, that's hard seeing a Bandmate screwing up like that, I remember hearing The Backstreet Boys having the same problems with AJ McLean." replied Helen.

"Yeah, so Paul leaves for awhile and Richard Street comes in and Eddie is very angry because he thinks that Otis and the other guys aren't being real friends to Paul." explained Billy.

"That wasn't the other guys fault, Paul did it to himself." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, but Eddie didn't see it that way." "He came back briefly in the 1970's on the song "Just My Imagination" but his illness, not remembering the songs, and the dance steps made him a liability instead of an asset, so he had to go for good." replied Billy.

"Eddie must have been really devastated." sighed Helen.

"Yeah, he even tried to convince Otis to give Paul a second chance but Otis said no, now mind you Otis wasn't a control freak, he was just the person who was close with the fellas but he knew how to be objective." explained Billy.

"So what happened next?" asked Nikki.

"Eddie was sulky, difficult and nasty but the guys ignored his tantrum like behavior, he went to of all people David Ruffin for advice but David wasn't objective, he told Eddie, quit the group before they fire you, after all they fired me and they can do the same thing to Paul and he's your boy, so Eddie did." replied Billy.

"Hmm, that doesn't sound like a very good business move to me." replied Helen.

"No it wasn't, he had one hit record as a Solo Artist "Keep On Trucking" but he allowed to many people to do his thinking for him, and when the fellas did a reunion tour in 1982, Eddie hoped to be asked back but he never was, to add insult to the injury, neither he nor David were invited to be part of Motown 25." replied Billy.

"You know, I remember seeing that Video from a long time ago, alot of people weren't on that special, Gladys Knight & The Pips, The Isley Brothers, The Marvelettes, they didn't even salute the stars who died like Florence Ballard." replied Helen.

"Yeah, but there was alot of backstage drama that the world only found out about years later." replied Billy.

"So what happened afterwards?" asked Nikki.

"He and David sang on the "Ain't Gonna Play Sun City" with other acts like Steven Van Zandt from his Pre-Soprano Days, as well as Hall & Oates, Bruce Springsteen, and Lisa former keyboardist for Prince." "They also did a concert show with Hall & Oates at The Apollo in Harlem, returned to Motown under the name Ruffin & Kendricks, did one album, that tanked and then things slowly went downhill."

"Jeez, the music business can be pretty cruel if you don't handle it properly isn't it?" asked Helen.

"Yeah, but it seemed that whatever problem David had, he dragged Eddie down with him, in fact when he died in June 1991, he didn't have a penny to his name so his family had to ask Michael Jackson for support which he gave." replied Billy.

"You mean to tell me David's family was penniless." replied Nikki.

"Not necessarily but they didn't have insurance to cover a funeral." explained Billy. "If that weren't humiliating enough, Eddie got arrested at David's funeral for non payment of child support." sighed Billy.

"Jeez, that's humiliating, but Billy what do two former musicians have to do with the Two Julies?" asked Helen.

"The fact that one is always dragging themselves down with the other." explained Billy. "That's why they need to be separated, I feel that so long as Julie S. stays at Larkhall, she won't move forward because she'll always have Julie J. to drag her down."

"As much as I hate to say it, you've got a point there." sighed Helen. "I almost wish that someone could help those two out."

"Yeah, in fact, a friend of mine is coming in to work on the case, her name is Alice Fletcher, she's a counselor and she's great." smiled Billy.

"Oh, that's good." replied Helen.

"Yeah, I hope so because right now Di Barker has a zero chance in Hell of surviving in Prison, she's a former screw, she knows too much, and she pays every night she's in lockup." sighed Billy.

"Let's just hope and pray for the best." sighed Nikki.

So a little while later, the ladies leave, thank Billy for the info and drive home.

They each take a shower to clear their mind and relax and watch some TV and fall asleep, knowing that the case was far from over.

tamla - April 20, 2008 01:24 AM (GMT)
Hi guys.

Sorry I wasn't able to write sooner, it's just that I wanted to piece together some more before I continued to write.

Like before, I don't own the rights to BG, Shed, or the characters.

Di Barker's trial continued to rivet the city of London, England due to the killing of her husband Jim Fenner who had worked his way through the ranks of Larkhall, a notorious Women's Prison on the outskirts of London.

He started out as a Screw and through blackmail, threats, and the like he managed to get the coveted job of Wing Govenor which he relished and made the life of many of his colleagues including his former supervisor Helen Stewart.

His resentment started nearly ten years ago when she got the job he so desperately wanted and he did whatever he could to make her look unprofessional.

From drugs to suicide to his covering his affairs with two inmates including the late Rachel Hicks as well as Shell Dockely, he did it all but the ultimate was when he married Di Barker.

She was a lonely, co-dependant individual who deluded herself into believing that she was all right and the world around her was crazy when in reality it was the other way around.

After a horrible divorce and knowing that he had so many enemies, it was no wonder he was finally murdered in Larkhall, but because Di had done so many bad things including scratching his car and causing trouble for her other colleagues she was suspect number one although she pleaded her case and denied that she did it.

What was so sad was that she "was" innocent but due to her past schemes of lying, deceit, and even violence, nobody believed her. To add fuel to the fire was that everyone who testified so far, were more for the prosecution than the defense.

As for Billy Tyler, a Lawyer who specialized in adoption & fostering, the case held an indirect link to him. His longtime friend Helen Stewart who he met in Uni back in the day knew what Di Barker was like as did Helen's life partner Nikki Wade who from 1997 to 2002 served a Five Year Sentence for murdering a police officer who tried to rape her then girlfriend Trisha.

Yet for Di, there was a light that came in the most unexpected source from two people who were called to the defense. Karen Betts & Marilyn Fenner.

Karen came to Larkhall around eight years previously to work as a Head Female Guard who was also a Nurse. She eventually replaced Helen as Wing Govenor and was romantically involved with Jim Fenner way before they each worked at Larkhall.

She also knew how devious the "Old Boys Club" was especially after she got demoted and Jim got her job. However, the biggest problem with Karen was that she lived by that old phrase:

"There are none so blind as those who refuse to see."

When Helen left six years earlier, she left a memo to acknowledge that Jim sexually assaulted her by placing his hand between her legs. Karen was in denial about it and even after she believed him, she still acknowledged him as a good colleague.

However, she sang a different tune when she stopped off at his place, a grungy B & B where he had only enough room for a Sofa Bed, his clothes and a table full of liquor.

What started as comfort eventually resulted in sex and although Karen begged Jim not to do it, she didn't want it, he didn't listen and she became the victim of rape.

She filed charges but due to her past with him, he got away with it.

As Billy heard about this part of the case, he shook his head and decided to give Helen & Nikki an update.

He came by their house around 2:00 PM after they had eaten a late breakfast, and after brewing some tea, he bought over some CD's that he knew that Helen would want to burn into her IPOD.

Amongst them were Leona Lewis, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Mariah Carey and the latest Blue Eyed Soul Sensation Duffy.

So as they sat down Helen asked about the progress of the case and his point of view.

"Well, I'll give Karen credit for her to do what she did because most women would say Di got what she deserved, but maybe she knows what it's like to not be believed, it's the worst feeling in the world." Billy explained.

"Yeah, she must still have a weak spot for the man." replied Nikki with a sneer.

"Maybe so, but she was alot smarter than Di but she also knows how Fenner nearly ruined her life when he used her car to run that innocent man down." sighed Billy.

"God, she had a horseshoe up her ass with that detective helping her out." sighed Helen. "Wouldn't it have been awful if she ended up at Larkhall."

"I know she would have caught hell, that's for sure." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, but the worst thing was that she had all the evidence to "convict" him and she did the two worst things, she told him and she didn't hide the evidence properly." explained Billy.

"How do you mean." asked Helen.

"Well, Karen had "inside" help and it backfired big time." explained Billy.

He went on to explain that from the moment Yvonne Atkins came in, her and Fenner pretty much played a game of Cat & Mouse, one always holding one over the other, but Fenner always won especially when Yvonne tried to escape twice.

The first time was when she and her husband Charlie set Jim up taking a bribe during a Golf Game which was a joke considering that it was on a cold day and who really played golf when the weather was cold.

Yvonne sweet talked Jim into getting her out of Larkhall on a Compassionate Leave and when they were in the Women's Loo of a local bar, Jim discovered that Charlie had been arrested but Yvonne already knew from before.

The second time was when Virginia O'Kane was murdered and Yvonne was the Number One Suspect especially since she too knew that Fenner was collecting the funds from the Massage Parlors and he used it to buy Karen an engagement ring.

It wasn't until Al MacKenzie of the Peckham Boot Gang confessed to all on a hidden tape that she got the charges dropped. As the years went on, Yvonne became Top Dog and gained the admiration of her fellow inmates.

Yet, her personal life wasn't all moonlight and roses. Her husband Charlie died after being shot outside the courtroom after beqing acquitted of fraud, her son Ritchie killed himself in a suicide pact, and daughter Lauren was serving the fourth of an eight year prison sentence for posessing firearms.

Then there was one time when everything was just ruined. Yvonne sweet talked Tina Purvis who changed her name to O'Kane to have sex with Fenner while she took the pictures. Tina admitted what happened and Karen got a signed signature.

She told Jim what she had on him, and threatened to ruin him once and for all and to get back at him for what he did to every woman at Larkhall from Helen, Nikki, Rachel Hicks, Shell Dockley and God knows who else.

He panicked, broke into her house and stole the evidence, destroyed it and stole Karen's car. Killed a man and ran off and left her hanging. Yet the worst was when he found out that Yvonne was seeing Colin Hedges, a PO on the sly who was also addicted to Heroin.

Fenner threatened Colin by saying he was going to tell the authorities about his Drug Problem not to mention canoodling with an inmate and Colin got so scared, he told Yvonne who understandably knew that her days in Larkhall were numbered.

She couldn't go to Karen since she got arrested and since Lauren had her own problems she didn't want to burden her daughter either. But help came in the form of a new lifer named Kristen Frances Yates who discovered a way to escape, Jim followed Yvonne locked her in a Cell, where she rotted and died and was found six weeks later.

"Dear God, Fenner was sicker than even I imagined, no wonder why he and Di were together." sighed Nikki.

"Yeah, but it was a relationship like The Two Julies, very co-dependant, and very lonely." explained Billy.

"Yeah, but how much do you think Karen's testimony helped?" asked Helen.

"Well, she knew all too well how easy it is to be taken in by the Fenner Charm, because she did it too." replied Billy.

"Yeah, she acted like the sun shone out of his ass." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, but in reality he was an asshole and there were other factors that made me realize just how much he didn't have." replied Billy.

So he named off certain facts.

Fact #1: Karen was there when Marilyn & the kids left him and he was in the house by himself.

Fact # 2: Karen always defended Jim to Helen.

Fact # 3: He never lived alone for a long period of time. He lived with his Mum, Marilyn, Karen, Neil and Di.

Fact # 4: His B & B was really grungy, even though it was a small space but he could have made it more presentable, or found somewhere else to live.

Fact # 5: He apologized to Karen way before he raped her, as if to say "You're the only real woman that I loved, and as much as I hate to say this, if he married Karen instead of Marilyn back in the day, I think he would have been a nicer person.

"Fenner, nice that's a good one." sneered Nikki.

"Yeah, so what about Marilyn, what did she say." asked Helen.

"She was surprsingly very compassionate." replied Billy. "She admitted that Fenner wasn't an easy man to live with, always complaining about work, and for her the straw that pretty much bit the camel's back was when she heard her husband shagging an inmate who kept calling her."

"Jeez, that must have been heartbreaking." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, it was and even after he got stabbed she still had compassion for him, after all he is the father of her kids and also remember, he was very manipulative, after he got suspended for shagging Shell, he sweet talked Marilyn into writing a letter to Shell pouring it on thick, Shell fell for it, hook, line and sinker and got his job back and he told her he used her to get his job back." Billy answered.

"Christ, what a bastard!" seethed Helen.

"Yeah, but remember since he was a Government Employee, if he lost his job, he'd be up the creek without a paddle, he'd never get another one with a good paycheck, not to mention he'd lose his pension, benefits, not to mention Insurance for the children." explained Billy.

"Yeah, you're right at that." explained Helen.

"I have to give her credit though, she moved on after her divorce, she took seminars on assertiveness, even changed her wardrobe and met a real terrific guy who treats her ten times better than Fenner ever did, so for every grey cloud, there's a silver lining." replied Billy.

"Yeah, but Di is still up the creek without a paddle." explained Helen.

"I know but the two people who allegedly can help her won't or are too scared to." replied Billy.

"You mean The Two Julies." replied Helen.

"Yeah, and for some reason, those two are in cahoots, I know that they can help Di, but they don't want to." replied Billy.

"How can you be so sure?" asked Nikki.

"Well, think about it, since she's started at Larkhall, The Two Julies have had the longest professional relationship with Di, and while so many others have left, including you Nikki, they are the only ones that are a true constant." explained Billy.

"Yeah, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything." replied Nikki.

"That's where you're wrong, especially since those two were friends with so many other people that were in Larkhall and left, and as much as I hate to say it, their relationship has had some very strange moments." replied Billy.

"What do you mean?" asked Helen.

Billy told them about how The Two Julies jumped Di when she found out about Josh & Crystal's Wedding.

They made Di a Wedding Dress when she was going to marry Barry Pearce, an abusive SOB.

Di helped Julie J's daughter Rihannon come and visit when she apologized for getting them sent back to Larkhall for an eight year stretch.

Di was a source of comfort and support when Julie S discovered she had Breast Cancer.

"God, quite a bizarre relationship those three had together didn't they?" sighed Helen.

"Yeah, but I think that helping those two made Di feel good about her self since she really didn't have much of a life on the outside, I think that if she had more positive people around her, she'd would have been in a much better place." replied Billy.

"Yeah, but her life is much worse behind bars and her being a former screw, god knows what they are doing to her as we speak." sighed Helen.

"I know but we'll just have to wait and see." replied Nikki.

As the three sat in silence, they each wondered what other testimony could be given to help or hurt Di.

Hey guys!!

Sorry I haven't written for awhile. I had taken a Yoga Class last week and I discovered that I had muscles that I didn't even know existed. (Ha! Ha!).

I hurt my leg by stretching it too far but I'm okay now.

Like before, I don't own the rights to Bad Girls, Shed, or any of it's affiliates.

The weeks had passed and the Trial of Di Fenner nee Barker still continued to have a large and loyal following in London.

She was on trial for allegedly murdering her husband James Graham Fenner who was the most hated, feared and violet Head Male Screw of Larkhall who ruined the lives of many people.

Many of the people who testified did more harm than good by telling the courts about Di's past. From her dirty deeds to her lies, to her history of sabotaging personal property.

Yet, the two people who were following the case quite closely were Helen Stewart and her life partner Nikki Wade, whose history with Fenner went back nearly a decade.

Helen was employed as a Wing Govenor at Larkhall, a notorious Women's Prison on the outskirts of London and it was there that she met Nikki who at the time was serving a 15 Year to Life Prison Sentence for stabbing a Police Officer named Gossard who tried to rape her then girlfriend and former Business Partner Trisha.

Thanks to Helen, Nikki was able to get a second trail with the help of Helen's friend from Uni named Claire, and along with her associate Marion, Nikki got a successful appeal.

Yet, it did come at a price. Fenner who found out about Helen's relationship with Nikki blackmailed her into leaving even though she didn't want to and although she was now Wing Govenor of Crow's Hall, she always regretted not getting Fenner out especially since he hurt so many women.

From Rachel Hicks, a 19 Year Old Inmate who killed herself, Shell Dockley a sociopath who was sent to a Prison for the Criminally Insane after he made it look like she was trying to kill her baby, not to mention Yvonne Atkins, the Top Dog who had a Cat & Mouse Relationship with Fenner.

Yet when Yvonne tried to escape, Fenner locked in her in a part of the Prison that nobody knew existed and it was there that she rotted for six weeks before dying.

However, another person who was interested in the Case was Billy Tyler, Helen's old friend from Uni from the 1980's who was now a successful Lawyer who specialized in helping kids get fostered and adopted.

He asked them over for Dinner on Saturday, which they agreed to and prepared a delicious meal of Spinach Stuffed Ravioli, Angel Hair Pasta, Bread, and for Dessert he provided Strawberry shortcake as well as delicious Coffee & Tea.

After eating, he went and put on some Old School Vintage Soul music that he got from the latest issue of Mojo Magazine that featured some of the best but unknown Soul Singers of all time who recorded for obsucre record labels and never got the recognition that they so rightfully deserved.

As they listened to a song called "Nothing But Tears", they caught up on their lives not to mention the case.

Billy managed to get info from his friend Ted who worked as a Screw at Brighton where Di Barker was currently incarcerated. When asked why she didn't go to another prison Billy explained the stats.

"Crow's Hall is Open, Clapton Marsh is where Lauren Atkins is, Larkhall is where Julie J. is and she'd pester Julie J. about telling the truth so Brighton is more practical." he replied.

"Hmm, maybe it's best that she's away from Larkhall, somebody may have done something to her by now." sighed Helen.

"Somebody already did, and it wasn't very pretty." answered Billy.

"What do you mean?" asked Nikki.

"Some of the Home Girls played "Double Dutch" on her and I'm not talking about the old school jump rope game." replied Billy.

To make his point across, he put in a DVD called "Madea Goes To Jail" in which Madea takes in the daughter of a fellow inmate after her release. When the child is rude, Madea goes into her shopping bag, takes out a belt and whips her while using her wrist as though she was playing "Double Dutch".

"Uggh, this scene is so funny but kind of sad, can you imagine someone doing that to Bodybag, or even Shell." laughed Nikki.

"Yeah, but these girls did it to teach her a lesson after what she did to Crystal Gordon." explained Billy.

"You mean the Urine Tests?" asked Helen.

"Yeah, but that's just part of it, they were angry that Di tried to come between a woman and her man, they think that Josh is a Diamond In The Rough since he loved Crystal, married her in Prison, and gave up his job when he got her pregnant, alot of guys wouldn't do what he did." explained Billy.

"Oh, they've got a point there, but I didn't know she liked him that much." replied Helen.

"Yeah, she was crazy about him, and when he didn't return her affections that really upset her, in fact one night she actually followed him home in her car, saw that Crystal was living there, and added two and two together." replied Billy.

"God, that's sick." replied Nikki. "She was obsessed, wasn't she?"

"Yeah, and that's why she was always messing up when it came to men, she wanted someone to like her that she pushed them into "disliking her". sighed Billy.

"So what else happened?" asked Helen.

"Well, they've gotten witnesses two of which were ordered back to London from Toronto, Ontario where they are now living." explained Billy.

"Who are they?" asked Nikki.

"Kristen Frances Yates & Selena Geeson." replied Billy.

He then told them about the two of them whose story was in many ways had as many twists and turns as even Nikki & Helen did.

"Kris was a Taxi Driver who had a very abusive father, Selena was Kris's Partner who worked as a Fitness Instructor in Rehab, Kris went on trial for murdering her father, got sentenced to Life at Larkhall and she thought she lost Selena when she disappeared."

"God, this is a heartbreaker." sighed Nikki.

"Yeah, but it gets more complicated, what Kris didn't know was that Selena went away to be a PO and got a job at Larkhall where her supervisors were Frances Myers who replaced Karen Betts & Neil Grayling." explained Billy.

"Anyhow, Selena was determined to get Kris out of Larkhall, and after doing her own investigating, she discovered that Kris didn't do it, but her younger sister Milly did it." replied Billy sadly.

"Are you serious Billy!" asked Helen shocked.

"Yeah, and this sort of thing happens more than you realize, in 1959, Screen Legend Lana Turner's daughter Cheryl went on trial for killing her mother's boyfriend Johnny Stompanto, a minor mobster but it wasn't until many years later did the truth come out, Lana did but Cheryl protected her." explained Billy.

"So what happened?" asked Nikki.

"Milly went to Toronto, Ont. to live with some relatives, Selena brought her back, and tried to convince Milly that everything would be okay, except that when she visited Kris, she got scared and rightfully so." explained Billy.

"Dear God, that's horrible." replied Helen.

"Yeah, but while Selena got along with everyone, the two people who were always up in her face were Fenner & Di, they weren't a couple at least officially but one day when Selena was invited to have a Beer in the Officers Mess, Di gave Selena a nasty look." he replied.

"Oh God, getting jealous over Fenner, give me a break." retorted Nikki.

"Don't be so hard on her Nikki, we've all at one time or another gotten jealous of someone haven't we?" asked Billy.

The minute Nikki heard that, she knew that Billy did have a point, especially when she got upset over Dominic McCallister spending time at Helen's Flat before she got out of Larkhall, and thought that they were having a "thing".

That jealousy almost cost Nikki the love of Helen forever but they got through it.

"Anyhow, the problem of maintaining a professional relationship with Fenner without arousing suspicion got harder, especially after what he did to Kris." he replied.

"Oh, God, tell me he didn't assault her." pleaded Helen.

"He did, but not sexually, he physically assaulted her, telling her that she needed a good man, and this was the worse, he actually pissed on her and I mean pissed on her, and he chalked it to a nervous breakdown." replied Billy.

"That shitting bastard, why didn't anyone say anything?" asked Nikki.

"Fenner was always covering his tracks and he felt he was invincible, yet the guilt of what he did to Yvonne, got to him and one day, he stripped off all of his clothes, and with blood from his arm, he started screaming that he was innocent!"

"Jesus, and he was still able to hold on to his job." asked Nikki.

"Yeah, they said it was a nervous breakdown, and with Dr. Nicholson in his corner, he took a leave of absence, and upon coming back, he was going to hurt Selena big time."

"How, did he do that?" asked Helen.

"He found out that she and Kris was a couple, and to add fuel to the fire, was that when Milly killed herself, Selena had to tell Kris what happened and poor Kris went ballistic, Myers transferred Kris to another Prison, and although Myers found out before anyone else, she didn't hold it against Selena." replied Billy.

"That was nice of her." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, she really had a high opinion of Selena, encouraging her to take courses and to advance herself in the service, if she still stayed at Larkhall, she could have made a major difference." replied Billy.

"So what else happened." asked Helen.

"Kris discovered just how sick Fenner could be, it seemed that she had found out about a part of the prison nobody knew about, she told Yvonne and Yvonne tried to escape, she didn't and everyone thought she had gotten out successfully." answered Billy.

"God that's awful." replied Helen.

"Yeah, but on the day that Kris tried to escape, with Selena's help, but Kris lost the keys, discovered a nasty odor, used the keys to open up the door, and there was Yvonne, her body all rotted up." replied Billy.

"God, it's just like something out of a Stephen King Novel." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, so Kris had to run back to G Wing, when Di & Hollamby found her, they were furious but Kris said that she had gotten sick, and they fell for it, she told Selena, who was the next to find the body, and then the Cell Block found out, and were devastated most notably the Two Julies." sighed Billy.

"So do you think that their testimony is going to hurt Di." asked Helen.

"Oh yeah, especially with Fenner's history of violence towards women, and that she defended him, also let's not forget how upset she was when she thought that Fenner liked Selena." explained Billy.

"So what are they doing now?" asked Nikki.

"Well, after Kris's escape that Selena helped orchestrate, they spent the night in a Hotel, and Kris climbed up a statue and screamed that she was innocent and a victim of the Justice System as so many women were, Selena backed her up and they both got arrested." explained Billy.

"Oh, that's so sad." replied Helen.

"Well, for them it was worth it, Kris got sent to another Women's Prison and was eventually released when the truth came out so to speak, Selena got a suspended sentence, probation, and community service but after it was completed, they decided to move to Canada and start a new life." explained Billy

"Well good for them, at least they got some sort of a happy ending." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, they live in Toronto, Ont., aka The T-Dot which is next to Vancouver, BC and Montreal, PQ as one of the top places for Gay Folks in Canada." "Thanks to a generous monetary donation from Lauren Atkins, they were able to start a brand new life, Selena works as a Screw for a Women's Prison while Kris went back to School and now works as a counselor helping battered women." replied Billy.

"Well, good for them, way to go." replied Helen.

"Who else are they going to call." asked Nikki.

"Cassie Tyler & Roisin Connor." replied Billy.

Their story was ten times more complicated.

"They were both bigshots in Banking and Cassie stole funds and Roisin who was her PA discovered what she did and covered for her, they both got caught, got arrested at work, and sent to Larkhall." replied Billy.

"God, poor them, even though what they did was wrong." sighed Nikki.

"Yeah, but while Cassie managed to adjust, poor Roisin didn't, she became addicted to Heroin, sold her stuff to get it, and when Neil Grayling allowed his personal feelings for Fenner affect him, he took his anger out on Roisin." explained Billy.

"I don't understand, why her?" asked Helen.

"As I said before, Neil had "feelings" for Fenner and when Fenner didn't return Neil's affections, he got very upset so he took his anger out on Roisin by denying her a visit with her kids because of the drugs." replied Billy.

"Oh God, poor her." replied Nikki. "How is she now, is she doing okay?"

"Yeah, they had to put her in detox, but she's clean and happier and she and Cassie became heroes when they saved Neil from the fire a couple of years ago, they got transferred to Open, and got a full pardon in the process, the only drawback is that they can't work in the Banking Industry or and Government Jobs." sighed Billy.

"So are they still together?" asked Nikki.

"Oh yeah, in fact Roisin's son Michael plays on a Soccer Team that I sometimes go and watch and play, and he's really good, and his sister Naimh babysits my neighbor's son to earn pocket money, and Cassie & Roisin got "blessed" a couple of years ago, and the kids adore her." smiled Billy.

"Well, that's good to know." smiled Helen.

"Yeah, but Di's not out of the woods, especially after two other ladies testify." replied Billy.

"Who are they, another couple." giggled Helen.

"Yes they are, one is named Sheena Williams and the other is Pat Kerrigan who met in Larkhall too, Sheena got five years for drugs and Pat got life for killing her boyfriend." sighed Billy.

"So what happened with them?" asked Nikki.

"Once again, Fenner played the upper hand by threatening Pat, and when Di offered to take Sheena's son Dylan, she agreed but Di was "obsessed" to the point that she deluded herself into thinking that this was hers and Fenner's baby." sighed Billy.

"Oh God, what a nightmare that was!" replied Helen.

"Yeah, but for once Fenner was right, he didn't want to be a father all over again, Thomas & Rebecca his children were pretty much grown and he didn't want to do it all over again, but Di didn't listen and when she bought the baby home, he went ballistic." sighed Billy.

"Poor baby." replied Nikki.

"Yeah, but Sheena's life was almost ruined by Di when Di put drugs in her tea, she lost her release date and got sent to the block, devastated and crushed, she eventually got out and although she came back due to a probation violation she eventualy got out for good." replied Billy.

"Yeah, but at least she escaped Fenner's evil clutches relatively unscathed." sighed Helen.

"What about this Pat?" asked Nikki. "I mean what happened to her?"

"Well, through miracles of miracles, she got out when she revealed that a Nun & a Minister who were at the prison, one as an Inmate, the other as a Chaplain after Reverend Mills left once ran a group home where she was abused, they used that as well as other testimony from other victims and she got released." Billy replied.

"Great, good for her!" replied Helen.

"Yeah, and Pat's doing well, she's believe or not a Plumber who does repair work around town, and Sheena works at the Insurance Co that my Law Firm uses so I sometimes run into her since her Office Building is right around the block from mine."

"So right now, Di's chances still are very slim aren't they?" asked Nikki.

"Yeah, now it's going to take a wing and a prayer and divine intervention to help her and any help would be possible." answered Billy

"Well, we'll just have to wait and see won't we." replied Helen.

The weeks went on and then a call came in the middle of the night. It seemed that a Nurse Mary Jenkins managed to get in touch with Helen and asked her to come to the Hospital tomorrow evening, it was very important.

The next day Helen meets Miss Jenkins who explained that a Julie Saunders wanted to see her.

As she entered the room, she was in the presence of a young man, and a young black lady. The young man stood up.

"Excuse me Miss, are you Helen Stewart?" he asked.

"Yes, I am, and you would be?" asked Helen.

"My name is David Saunders, Miss Saunders son, and this is my wife Felicity." he explained.

"Oh, nice to meet you both." replied Helen.

"Thanks so much for coming, could we speak to you in private please?" asked David.

"Sure." replied Helen.

As they left the room and went to the end of the hall, David started to talk.

"First of all, I'd like to thank you for everything you did for my mother while you were Wing Govenor, she spoke very highly of you." replied David.

"Oh, it was my pleasure, she never gave me any trouble and neither did Julie J." replied Helen.

"My mother got breast cancer a couple of years ago and it was in remission but unfortunately, it came back, she doesn't have much time to live and she wanted to tell you something, saying you'd understand." explained David.

"Oh, okay is it serious?" asked Helen.

"Oh more than you realize." replied Felicity with a tone of anger in her voice.

So the two went back into the room, and Helen sat on a chair and Julie S. woke up.

"Oh, Miss Stewart, it's so nice to see you again, I just wish it was under better circumstances." she replied with a sadness to her voice.

"So what did you want to tell me?" asked Helen.

"Well, you know that Di Barker is on trial for Jim Fenner's murder don't you?" asked Julie S.

"Sure, that's all of what London's been talking about." replied Helen.

"I should have done this a long time ago, but I was scared of what would happen, Di Barker didn't kill Fenner, Julie J. did it."

The minute that Helen heard that, the blood drained from her face.

"Julie, you're talking nonsense, it's the drugs making you say those horrible things." she replied.

"No, no Miss, it's the truth, I've known for a long time but I didn't say anything because I didn't want to hurt Julie J, but now I realize that I hurt Miss Barker more by not telling." replied Julie S. sadly.

"Dear God, do you realize what's going to happen if this comes out, Julie J. will spend the rest of her life locked up behind bars!" replied Helen sternly.

"Yes, but I have nothing to live for, the cancer has spread to my body, and I know I'm going to die, I want to go to heaven with a clean slate Miss and I can assure you that what I said was the truth." explained Julie S.

"What do you mean?" asked Helen.

So Julie S. told the whole story about how Julie J. made a dagger out of an Ice Pick, let it freeze overnight and during Yvonne's Memorial Service she snuck out, stabbed Fenner and the rest is history.

"Dear God, did Julie J. say anything?" asked Helen.

"Yeah, she admitted it to Mr. Grayling but the way she said it was like she was a little girl admitting that she broke a vase, or stole money from a wallet, etc, I stood up for her saying that she didn't do it "I" did it, and then everyone in the Servery said that they did it which got very complicated." explained Julie S.

Although Helen knew the story from before, hearing it from Julie S. made her realize that Di was indeed innocent.

"Did you tell anyone else about this other than your son?" asked Helen.

"No Miss, only you, I always admired how you looked out for us, alot of the others didn't after you, and during my time in here, I realized how much I've messed up these past ten years." replied Julie S. sadly.

"Come on, you didn't do no such thing?" replied Helen gently.

"Want to bet Miss." replied Julie S.

So she told her everything, about how she broke back into Larkhall because she was too scared to be on the outside, how she and Julie J. got re-arrested for working for Virginia O'Kane, spilling Hot Water on the boyfriend of Julie J's daughter Rihannon named Damien, and how they were always sabotaging their lives.

"I was too loyal to Julie J., and if I weren't I could have had a much better life with David & his father Trevor, even when my granddaughter Ashanti comes to visit me, she has to get checked all because her Gran is a tart and a thief." replied Julie S.

"No, you were being a good friend, and trust me, loyalty can be a very strong emotion." replied Helen.

"I need you to help me Miss." pleaded Julie S.

"Sure anything." she replied.

"I need a lawyer to tell this too, someone who can help Miss Barker get off the charges, and I need one before I get worse." she replied.

So Helen called Billy at his Office and although it wasn't his area of expertise, he called his friend Pat O'Bannon to help.

Upon arrival, he took notes, got the confession on Video, and took it to the Law Office of Di's Lawyer.

Needless to say, this testimony made a world of difference in the trial, and when it was discovered that there was no evidence of a murder weapon because the weapon "melted", it was quite a shock to everyone from the jury, the press, and even the Judge himself who thought that Di was going to get a life sentence.

As for the two detectives, they shamefacedly admitted that they looked at it more as a "Crime Of Passion" than anything else, especially since Di did do some bad things from the scratches on the Car, amongst other factors.

They even tried to say that for a minute they had their doubts when two other inmates wrote a book in which they described how they were going to kill a man using a thorn.

Needless to say, they knew that their credibility was going to be damaged big time and may even result in some severe action by their supervisor.

The jury delivered the verdict of "Not Guilty" which made Di very happy. Unfortunately she wasn't out of the woods. It seemed that a couple of years ago after Fenner got arrested for a hit and run that he tried to pin on Karen Betts after using her car, Di went to visit him in Prison.

She was very upset that her Wedding Day was ruined by her ex-husband and her former supervisor, not to mention that her matron of honor pretty much lowered the boom on Fenner. She even threatened Sylvia as well.

Yet the worst thing she did was finding out that not only was Fenner indeed guilty but he had a shrine dedicated to Karen. She got rid of all of the evidence, hid some of it like her trump card and she got caught and found out.

It was also during that time that while he was in Prison Fenner framed a guy named Stuart Jones, who went under the name of Ben while working in Larkhall as a repairman. Fenner gave him $1000.00 to make it look like Neil Grayling was trying to seduce him but it wasn't true.

As a result, Stuart/Ben got released and thanked God for giving him a second chance. It was also during that time that the did some thinking and realizing that he couldn't go through life scheming and scamming people, Fenner taught him that.

Di had to answer charges for covering a crime, and although the Magistrate wanted to sentence her to 10 Years for Fraud, she instead got a suspended sentence, probation, community service, and therapy.

Although she was relieved, she knew that things were far from over. The police from Larkhall formally arrested and charged Julie J. for Fenner's murder and she was sent to a Prison for the criminally insane.

Julie S., unfortunately died of Breast Cancer and a service was held both at Larkhall as well as a family service where many of her friends were able to say their goodbye.

As the casket was lowered into the Coffin, both Helen and Nikki had tears running down their cheeks. They were both so sad that such a wonderful friend had to die the way she did but at least she died knowing that she did one good thing.
