You Know You're Obsessed with Helen when...
1) you're afraid you may have already worn out the dvd player you
got last week.
2) you find yourself negotiating with yourself in order to put the remote
down: ie... if you dont watch yet another episode tonight, you'll have
more to watch tomorrow.
3) you find yourself seriously re-evalating the need for sleep.
4)even though you are from the eastern united states, you find yourself
slipping into a scottish accent throughout the day.
5)you're frightening all the perfectly nice straight women at work by plastering pictures of everyone's favorite wing governor all over your
cubicle.
6) you realize after eyeing helen bending down to explain to nikki just
why dominic was over that you could forgive the woman anything..
including mass murder. Basic

Brilliant, wordsmith!! So true!! But unlike the rest of you, it's Nikki that has me hooked. So the accent that comes out of my mouth is English (throw back from when I lived in England...& surprisingly easy to fall back into after a few episodes of BG!!)... and the photos displayed in my cube are of Nikki/Mandana. And Helen-Simone/Nikki-Mandana. I'm not sure if you're joking about having photos up, but I'm not!!! Mandana looks so stunning in one of them, everyone who actually acknowledges they see it comments on how beautiful she is.

That was great wordsmith! I have to agree with jillpotts too though... N/M is a big draw for me, too. She reminds me so much of someone very close to me. I often wonder if only 1 of their characters was in the show and there was not the whole H & N storyline if I'd be so taken by either character. Of course, both are beautiful. I know for me it is the interaction and relationship between two similar but very different persons. Basic

Sackville ~ Yay another N/M fan!! Good call on the whole relationship thing. That's what draws me in too. l'm certain I'd enjoy the show without it, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be so hooked if it wasn't for the interactions between them. And certain personality traits of both Nikki and Helen remind me of women I've known, as well. Lucky you that whoever reminds you of the divine Ms. M is "close"!

ah yes, jillpotts, the bit about the photos is dead on. i have helen/simone
pics on the walls, on my computer desk, push-pinned all over the
cubicle. and yes, all the straight women know i am totally enamored of
her. i even ask my boss to download color pics from her printer so i
can swoon at work! the obsesssion is relentless really. today while doing
some shopping i was taken care of by a lovely man from england who
had this wonderful accent and it took all i could do not to ask if he knew
simone lahbib. as if everyone in london knows one another.
meantime,it was probably her brother in law and i missed the chance of
a lifetime. Basic

I had a friend over who I got to watch an ep on BBCA, it happened to be "Shit Happens". It got enough of a hook in her that we had a 5 hour bg marathon of Series 1 on Sat. We ff'd to only the Helen scenes, Nikki scenes and of course the H/N scenes.

I found this confession of obsession in another thread and I think it should be posted here also. In the Bad Girls section in the thread In praise of Jim Fenner several board member have decided to start a new religion in honor of Helen/Simone. Here is the prayer of the new religion. They have already come up with a sign for it but they are still looking for a name.

I had a friend over who I got to watch an ep on BBCA, it happened to be "Shit Happens". It got enough of a hook in her that we had a 5 hour bg marathon of Series 1 on Sat. We ff'd to only the Helen scenes, Nikki scenes and of course the H/N scenes.
I wasn't ready to tell her about this message board yet.

OWH......can't let you look like the only pathetic oops obsessed Helen/Simone fan, I have a few confessions/obsessions of my own...
1.... spent 2 weeks in London pounding the pavement looking for a copy of the Bad Girls book... with no success
2.... cut out as many pictures as I could find of Simone and stuck them into my travel diary.
3.... driving around trying to locate the bay window flat where the external shots were filmed......total waste of time
4.... drove out to Oxford just to sight the prison
5.... having a framed picture of Helen displayed in my living room...... plus screen saver etc...
6.... learning to use a computer so I could be apart of the Board and read as much as I could about Simone............
7.... ok chicky babe am going to call you on the tattoo........
will soon be sporting the Official Bad Girls tattoo................mine will be real ......is yours ??????????????
8.... now surely this one has got to be the ultimate obsession...........
searched high and low for my own Helen...........FOUND HER.....
left a 30 plus year marriage and am now living with her..........

Here is how I know I am obsessed. First my girlfriend asked me if I had to choose between her and Nikki and Helen who would I choose.
Well if it was between Nikki and my girlfriend it would have to be my girlfriend but if it was between Helen and my girlfriend it would be a toss up. Now this really pissed off my girlfriend. Do you think she was over reacting ? Since Nikki and Helen are both fictional characters and Simone and Mandana are two very straight unavailable women. Ask a silly question, get a silly answer.
At least I was being honest. I am completely taken by Helen. She's gorgeous !

I think I may be obsessed!
There is this woman at work and I swear she is Helen Stewart, she walks like helen, she has the hair (S2 & 3 not the seies 1 thing!). And everytime I see her she looks slightly harassed and in a hurry.
If I didn't know for a fact that Simone Lahbib doesn't work at my local council offices i'd be seriously freaked out!

That's amazing. Did you ever speak to her ? Maybe she has the Scottish accent thing going as well. No Helen look alikes in my neck of the woods and if there were any, they would most likely speak french since I live in Quebec and the english population is decreasing.

So far I haven't managed to talk to her, I've smiled but so far nothing in return. Although i spose the fact that i keep staring at her as she walks past probably freaks her out. I've never heard her talk though because she doesn't work in mymy part of the building, I'm in a bit just off themain landing so I get to see everyone coming and going might have to do some digging to find out who she is!

Just an update I actually managed to speak to my Helen lookalike, but was very disppointed noting remotely scottish. Well I say spoke to she came into the meeting room I was working in and asked if she could borrow a chair and I said yeah fine.
Although I think she works on my floor so If I can work out in which section I can actually find out who she is!

Well that is a good start. Few words here and there and before you know it a conversation may arise. See if it is worth your while getting to know her. I guess at this point you are just in awe of her resemblance to Simone (Helen)

It's not really her resebeleance to Simone to be honest. It's more the mannerisms and stuff, they way she walks, the fact that she always looks slighty harassed I dunno I can't explain it but it's not all about her physical appearance and it's definitely Helen not Simone.
Ooh I worked out who she is today to I followed her in to work (not stalking followed, just that she arrived at the car park entrance just before I did.) she's called Lorraine.
