I was inspired by stories of how many board members found love through the MB.
I couldn't NOT write about it.
thanks SIAA for uploading it for me

"And Then I Got This Chance"

And here I thought I was happy, comin' home to what I thought was true
Till I found you out wanderin', where my night is your morning dew, yeah

(Chorus)
And then I got this chance
To feel whole again
Not half of what I was
You captured my heart
Cross this great expanse
From half a world away

Can you see through this window, along the wires so distant the sky
I need to know where we're going, I've been torn it's not cut-and-dry

(Chorus)

Love is friendship on fire, do you whisper my name late at night
I so long to touch you, babe my heart is bleeding black and white
Hold on to my words

(bridge)
Finally a voice whispers in my ear
My breath comes to a stop, it makes me feel so near

I can't wait any longer for your hands, your breath on my face
I need the miles to crumble, share the same air, share the same space, yeah

(Chorus)

Sue

You know how I feel about this song as well. I have the lyrics printed out and keep them with me (you know my reasons).

Sorry for not responding earlier in this forum but I just wanted to say what an excellent job you did with this.

Thanks Sue

Sue, you are truly the "Songstress", and I am so very happy that you decided to post & share this most beautiful song. Quite a bit different from anything I've heard from you, but maybe that's what makes it so moving ~~~~~

Please keep up the hard, but much appreciated work!!!!!!!!

Forgive me for my tardy post, but I still have this one playing on "the loop". But I need to say it publicly.....this indeed is a masterpiece. I also have a personal thank you for letting me in on how this whole process works, and how an idea can start out one way, and morph into something you might never expect.

Please keep those creative fires burning!!!!!

Okay ladies. I know there are more musicians, writers and singers out there. it doesn't have to be original. Would love to hear some music from you.

Some great tunes song_stress.

I don’t have any original compositions, but I have a recording of a saxophone quartet from a summer music program I attended a few years ago.

It’s a contemporary classical piece, not everyone’s cup of tea, but it was sure fun to learn. I ended up with 1st alto, so I played the high line. I think we did all right considering we were all a bunch of nervous wrecks before we performed.

Like I said...doesn't have to be original ....Just DL'd it. Coooool Loon. I LOVE Sax!! You sounded awesome. :clap I do like classical and the comtemporary classical. Favorite composers would be Handel and Chopin.
if you have anymore, I would love to hear them! Thanks again for sharing.

As it just so happens our sax quartet made two recordings, the second is of Handel’s Sarabande. The acoustics in the room were not great though, so the sound is pretty dead.

Loon,

These are fantastic. Music to my ears being as I am a true Mandolin lover. Please feel free to sit on the floor and record anytime.

:hug2

Loon - August 10, 2006 02:07 AM (GMT)
Thanks for the encouragement Toni! I apologize for the poor sound quality.

Greensleeves is one of my favourites from when I was a kid and watched Lassie. It sounds so much nicer on the mandolin than on the guitar (at least mine anyways!) I really like the sound of it on the harpsichord too.

Nice work!

IF YOU’RE GOIN’ THROUGH HELL ~ Rodney Atkins

Written by Dave Berg, Annie Tate and Sam Tate

http://countrymusic.about.com/od/audiovideo/a/ra_iygth.htm

WELL YOU KNOW THOSE TIMES WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE
THERE’S A SIGN THERE ON YOUR BACK
THAT SAYS I DON’T MIND IF YOU KICK ME, SEEMS LIKE EVERYBODY HAS
THINGS GO FROM BAD TO WORSE
YOU THINK IT CAN’T GET WORSE THAN THAT
AND THEN THEY DO

YOU STEP OFF THE STRAIGHT AND NARROW
AND YOU DON’T KNOW WHERE YOU ARE
USED THE NEEDLE OF YOUR COMPASS, TO SEW UP YOUR BROKEN HEART
ASK DIRECTIONS FROM A GENIE IN A BOTTLE OF JIM BEAM
AND SHE LIES TO YOU
THAT’S WHEN YOU LEARN THE TRUTH

IF YOU’RE GOIN’ THROUGH HELL KEEP ON GOING
DON’T SLOW DOWN IF YOU’RE SCARED DON’T SHOW IT
YOU MIGHT GET OUT BEFORE THE DEVIL EVEN KNOWS YOU’RE THERE

I’VE BEEN DEEP DOWN IN THAT DARKNESS
I’VE BEEN DOWN TO MY LAST MATCH
FELT A HUNDRED DIFFERENT DEAMONS BREATHIN’ FIRE DOWN MY BACK
AND I KNEW THAT IF I STUMBLED I’D FALL RIGHT INTO THE TRAP
THAT THEY WERE LAYIN’

BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS THERE’S ANGELS EVERYWHERE OUT ON THE STREET
HOLDIN’ OUT A HAND TO PULL YOU BACK UP ON YOUR FEET
THE ONE’S THAT YOU’VE BEEN DRAGGIN’ FOR SO LONG
YOU’RE ON YOUR KNEES MIGHT AS WELL BE PRAYIN’
GUESS WHAT I’M SAYIN’

IF YOU’RE GOIN’ THROUGH HELL KEEP ON GOING
DON’T SLOW DOWN IF YOU’RE SCARED DON’T SHOW IT
YOU MIGHT GET OUT BEFORE THE DEVIL EVEN KNOWS YOU’RE THERE
WHEN YOU’RE GOIN’ THROUGH HEAVEN KEEP ON MOVIN’
FACE THAT FIRE WALK RIGHT THROUGH IT
YOU MIGHT GET OUT BEFORE THE DEVIL EVEN KNOWS YOU’RE THERE

IF YOU’RE GOIN’ THROUGH HELL KEEP ON GOING
DON’T SLOW DOWN IF YOU’RE SCARED DON’T SHOW IT
YOU MIGHT GET OUT BEFORE THE DEVIL EVEN KNOWS YOU’RE THERE
WHEN YOU’RE GOIN’ THROUGH HEAVEN KEEP ON MOVIN’
FACE THAT FIRE WALK RIGHT THROUGH IT
YOU MIGHT GET OUT BEFORE THE DEVIL EVEN KNOWS YOU’RE THERE
YOU MIGHT GET OUT BEFORE THE DEVIL EVEN KNOWS YOU’RE THERE

Here's a song that I wrote for an "Old School N & H" Website before it crashed.

As you may remember, Bodybag used to get upset when she heard Crystal Singing, so I made up a song called "The Larkhall Prison Blues"

I've got the Larkhall Prison Blues;
And I just don't know what to do;
Because my life is controlled by some screws;
I've got the Larkhall Prison Blues;
When I entered, I was doing time;
Because I commited a very bad crime;
In this Prison you can never shine;
And you can never say;
"Hey, that's mine";
The food here I wouldn't feed a bear;
Yet the inmates, they don't care;
To look at someone funny, I don't dare;
Because I may need to be in their care;
The Wing Govenor she is cool;
And in no way is she anybody's fool;
She's got these amazing beautiful green eyes;
Whose compassion takes me by surprise;
We have a problem with a lady who lags;
Who is known to all as Bodybags;
A Lady who thinks we're all tarts;
And she doesn't even have a heart;
Her main man's first name is Jim;
And he tries to hard to be so slim;
I feel out of water like a fish;
But I only have just one wish;
To leve here and one day be free;
Because that's our reality;
So for now, I'll just pay my dues;
Cause I got the Larkhall Prison Blues;
