I love how Nikki totally understates things in this scene. Its like no probs, i'll just borrow Trish's passport, i got the Dusty Springfield's ugly sister wig so what can go wrong.

Oh and if you think of this night from another angle, you could say a night with Helen costs 3,000 pounds!!!!! She doesn't come cheap. Think of how many young up and coming lawyers Nikki could have got for that money

Haha you're right... so the DVDs were got out and I can say that it is according to S2 Ep2 (when Helen is wondering about her decision to ship Nikki out): 6/5/97.

No she actually says it before then...when Helen meets Nikki in the library and is looking for Monica to tell her about Spencer...the scene you mention is after Spencer's funeral.

In the library, Nikki says something like "You like a bit pasty, Helen" and then goes off on one soon after because Helen is off in another world and Nikki thinks it's because she called her Helen...

That's when I think it is anyway... :?

Isn't that when Helen is hung over? The morning after the funeral? Because the goodbye one was the night of the funeral, after Helen left Monica in her cell and told Nikki to leave her... correct me if I'm wrong. I can't check because my parents are watching Monarch of the Glen repeats (series 3) on UKTV. Laughing

I'm pretty sure Helen was hung over the same morning as the others were, from the "wake", putting the "pasty" comment the morning after the wake. I think she is looking for Monica to check on her, rather than to tell her. Wasn't Monica called to Helen's office where a nun was waiting? If this makes any sense... I know that's not very helpful and I should give you the episode, but that may be too easy. How about if it's not answered soon I'll give the episode? And in both scenes, it is not easy to spot.

I can only spot 2...there might be more, but they all look alike (except for the first one). I'm guessing there are more, but these 2 might help out...

1. Series 1, Episode 1: When Nikki announces the fashion show is back on. Helen wears a double necklace with beads or pearls, or whatever on it.

2. Series 3, Episode 2: The "one look from you" scene. Helen wears a gold one with a diamond (or similar) pendant. As well as loads of other episodes.

I counted 17...The ones you mentioned as well as one on the wall just outside the art room as Helen walks in, plus there are 3 on the floor behind Nikki while they talk.

It is four as far as I can tell, but I've never seen the Shell one. The very obsecure one I'm talking about is Maxi. If you watch the scene from Series 3 Episode 12 where Caroline is being shipped out and Maxi tells Nikki Caroline's a nounce, Nikki gets in Maxi's face a little too close. I know, this is kind of cheating, but questions are hard to come by these days. If I knew how to down load a picture here I would show you the exact scene.

Helen is right handed. Series 3 Episode 12, when she's telling bodybag that she's moving Caroline and others out of G wing. Helen has her pen in her right hand and the clip board in her left. She also drinks her coffee with her right hand, but I suppose that doesn't mean she's right handed just an observation.

I don't think we are ever told who was wing govener b4 Helen. Maybe it was stubberfield and when he was promoted to number 1, helen got the wing goveners job? Although having said that, maybe its the mind playing tricks on me, but im sure when stubberfield and helen are talking he says "your predisesor". I don't think we are ever given a name though I'm sure Helen is the first female wing govener, judging by Fenners attitude towards her. Just a theory!! :?

First of all, one has to wonder why you'd be looking at the reflection instead of these two beautiful women kissing Laughing , but with that said I'm going to say nice spot, but I don't think it's Helen's car. I think it was Series 3 Episode 8 where Helen is getting out of her car the first day of being Grade 1 Wing Govenor and they show the back of her car, there's no sticker in her back window like the one in the reflection and her plate is yellow where the one in the reflection looks white. I don't know how the license plates work in the UK, we have different plates for every state here.

Mind you this is only a guess and I have not reviewed my DVDs...this is only based on wracking my little brain but I think Helen has only said it twice. Not yet about Nikki. My brain as well as my heart can only seem to focus on one woman at a time :) I suspect though that Nikki also rarely used those exact words and at this point can only think of twice. Because she was much more verbally open about her feelings than Helen it is harder to go through the scenes in my mind. She said what amounted to I love you in several different ways. That, and lets face it, I was in rapt attention to every word and breath uttered out of Helen's mouth. While I found Nikki very attractive too, Helen just got to me. :D If I don't leave for work now, I will be late..damn work :? <grumble> but will try to figure it out on the way.

Actually, you gave me a good segway although this question may just be too cumbersome to answer...In how many scenes is Helen pissed at Nikki...expresses her anger or annoyance toward or about Nikki. Since in my mental review (by the way I don't know the answer) it seems to capture about 90% of Helen's scenes this may be too much of a question. Also some of the scenes may be open to interpretation. If this is too much let me know and I will go back to the drawing board.

And as far as your Helen/Nikki knowledge goes, I bow to the vastness of it. :)

OMG, you are great! I will have to read this more closely when I get home. Although you do mention the Monica episodes there is a scene when Nikki is bringing Monica flowers and baits Helen by asking if it is ok to do it after Helen already told her that it is a nice thing. Helen gets annoyed.
I think the scene where Helen actually catchs Nikki and Carolyn kissing, the reaction is more hurt. I think the annoyance comes in at a later scene where she thinks momenatrily that Nikki might be doing it to make her jealous.

If you're answering the quiz question, you could have found a potential flaw in my questioning because they're not the band playing in that scene on MY DVDs, but I suppose that could have been edited on your version to someone else. Didn't read this thread till a moment ago or I would have been well and truely on the case yesterday!! Sorry chaps! Anyway, don't worry HM1ST, I made the same mistake about Oasis too. I explained this story on another thread somewhere else on the board. Can't find it though. Anyway someone posted a question about that song thinking it was Oasis and I replied that I too thought it was them. I sang the song in Helen's car to a few friends of mine of were Oasis fans, but they had never heard of it. It was Loveday and Loveday that sang "back against the wall". MJN made a list and posted it on the board somewhere with all the songs that were used in series 1-3 with the artists. Can't believe how like Oasis they sound!
Right onto fashion! YES YES YES THANK YOU HM1ST!! That blouse was not the best idea our darling Simone ever had!! She's a very attractive woman, but the blouse, eh...NO!! Collar and cuffs in a different pattern to rest of blouse, then a red bra clearly showing under it!! :? Then there was the SA orange trousers. Not good either IMO. But because she's attractive she just and no more managed to get away with it. Simone and Mandana are both beautiful women and I find that Mandana does casual clothing very well and Simone does evening clothes very well. Oh, and I liked Helen's fashion and hairstyle in series 1! Good grief, when I joined this board I thought I would be discussing things, but Simone and Mandanas fashion wasn't one of them!! Aaah, roll on the fashion talk!! :D

Anyway, how was the new gay club OWH? :D

I think you sum up the blouse issue very nicely there... The cuffs in a different colour / pattern to the rest of the blouse, and what a pattern it was! Oh my!

I'm glad that song has caused others confusion too... It really does sound like Oasis. I think maybe they recorded it under a different name. Yeah, that'll be it! The gay club was a big disapointment (thanks for asking), way too smokey and the bar itself is really run down. I guess it's worth another 10-15 minutes to get to the downtown hot spots for the clubs.

Not part of the quiz, but a clarification: if S1 E9 is the first time Nikki and Helen touch platonically, then does that mean that the potting shed scene is the first time they touch at all?! That suprises me for some reason, although I certainly can't think of another time they touched before that....

Well Nikki wears her black shirt under her black jacket when she goes to court of course, but perhaps they don't count as 'tops'
She she a sleeveless black top often worn under her red or purple top I think. But she is seen in it on its own in her cell perhaps, just trying to think what scene?

The said black sleeveless top was auctioned to raise money for a charity that James Gaddas is involved with and it went for several hundred dollars to an American chum of mine so I got to have it in
my possession for a while ...lol

Nikki's white over shirt went for even more to an unknown buyer..now I do know what scenes that is in!!!

The reason I picked this as my quiz question is because I had noticed that (1) Mandana Jones looks absolutely spectacular in black and (2) they almost never let her wear it! But on the other hand, she wears white all the time, which isn't flattering on her, or against the prison walls. It started me thinking that the costume designers/creators had made a specific choice to NOT dress Nikki in black, because of its traditionally shorthand to point out the evil/villain characters.

That said, it might just be because the screws all wear black, so if the prisoners wore black too, the look would be too monoto
