Part 1

Helen could not believe just how tired she was; there was still so much to do before the big move. The more she looked at her to do list the longer it seemed to get. Helen had been promoted and transferred so fast that she did not have a chance to get organized something she was definitely not use to. She had exactly ten days to move that included finding a new place to live and sorting out a school for her son Nicholas. Not a small task not even for Superwoman, as her work colleges affectingly called her. Thank God for the Internet Helen was able to look for a flat and check out the surrounding school districts simply by touching a few buttons.

Helen knew it was going to be hard saying goodbye to her friends and family again, the last five years had gone by so quickly, but it was time. She had to put all the skeletons of her past behind her and start living again. It had been several years since Helen lived in London it surprised her just how much she remembered about the place. Helen was so happy that her best friend Claire had moved to London just a year earlier so she would not be alone to start. Claire was there with the movers when she arrived instructing them as her flight had been delay several hours. Helen had so many appointments set up for the day including doctors to get the necessary shots her son would need to attend school on Monday.

Arriving at the doctor’s office with just minutes to spare, Helen signed in and took the paper work she needed to fill out from the nurse. As she looked around at all the people in the waiting room she could not help but think there were a lot of parents who waited for the last minutes to get their kids shots updated as school was scheduled to start in just a few days. Helen instructed her son to an empty seat beside her as she began to write on the forms. Helen looked up to see just where Nicolas had wondered off to when she spotted him in the corner playing with a little girl, she smiled and continued to finish the paperwork. Each time she looked over to Nicolas and the little girl she could not help but feel there was something very familiar about the little girl. Helen finally realized she had been staring at the little girl for some time still not able to shake the feeling that she had seen her before. She has the most beautiful hazel eyes Helen had ever seen along with a smile that brought tears to her eyes. Helen watched as Nicolas placed a loose strain of hair behind the little girls left ear as they continued to play.

Helen thought it strange that of all the children playing together with so many toys Nicolas had chosen this little girl playing in the corner all by herself. She remembered watching him hold out his little five-year-old hand for his playmate to shake introducing himself. Very impressed, he is definitely a charmer just like his; Helen quickly erased the thought from her mind. As she continued watching the kids her mind wondered back eight years earlier when she and her ex-lover Nikki were sitting on a run way just out side of London after the plane they were on had to make a very freighting emergency landing. Nikki I would not know how to live if I lost you, Nikki had only nodded in agreement not able to speak yet. That night neither woman slept peacefully. Helen are you awake, Nikki did not wait for Helen to answer. Today when I was not sure if we were going to make it the only thing I could think of was our children. Hearing this Helen sat up with a confused look, what children Nikki? The ones we have always talked about but never had. Helen I want so much to have a family with you, I want a little girl that looks just like you. Nikki I can’t wait to have a son as stubborn as you to fight with every morning as I get him ready for school. They both laughed at that statement. It was Helen who came out of the daydream first, Nikki we both agreed we wanted to get our careers off the ground before we settled down and started a family. I know Helen but days like today make you re-think decisions like those.


Part 2

The next day Nikki was sunning herself on the balcony when Helen came running out talking about the program she had just seen on TV. All about a wife who was so happy she and her husband had decided to freeze his sperm when they found out he had cancer in case the treatment did not work. Just what are you going on about Nikki asked Helen. Don’t you see sweetheart Helen said, this is the perfect answer for us. We will each freeze our eggs and give the other joint control of them. Each of us has permission to implant the others eggs giving us the family we dreamed about. Nikki still did not understand, Helen continued incase anything every happened to one of us we could still have a small piece of the other. Strangely enough Nikki thought it was a fine idea and agreed to do it. Not wanting Nikki to have a chance to change her mind Helen quickly found a clinic and the deed was done.

Helen was brought back to reality when she heard her name being called; at least she thought she did. Helena Stewart-Wade the nurse called again. Helen watched as an attractive blonde stood and took the little girls hand that was playing with her son and followed the nurse through the doors Moments later she heard nother nurse call for Nichols Wade-Stewart we are ready for you. The blonde stopped in her tracks and turned to look but saw no one following them. Helen could not move at first as she watched the doors slowly close behind the little girl. She was still in shock as she took her son’s hand and followed the nurse. After placing the little girl in the room the blonde excused herself stating she had left something in the waiting room and would be right back. Although she could no longer see him she knew she was looking for the little boy with the dark brown eyes. That night as Trisha waited for Nikki to get home she could not help but replay the seen from earlier over and over in her mind. She remembered watching the lady with the dark blonde hair staring at the children playing. She could not understand why the lady seemed to stare at Helena so, she was becoming uneasy until she saw the little boy wave over to her. Trisha had thought it was because she was playing with her little boy now she was not so sure.

Just then Trisha looked up and saw Nikki coming through the door. Nikki walked toward Trisha with Helena in tow, swinging her as she walked. Trisha saw the little boy’s eyes looking down at her. Later as Trisha and Nikki sat on the couch having a glass of wine after dinner Trisha turned to Nikki and asked who is Helen tewart? Nikki chocked, wine went flying everywhere all over the sitting room floor. What did you say, where on earth did you hear that name? Answer me was all Trisha could say. Nikki was very confused it had been almost six years since she had heard anyone mention Helen. Trisha had never known Helen and she knew she had never mention Helen to her so how could she know about Helen. Trisha are you going to answer me? I believe I asked the question first Trisha said as she stared at the tears falling from Nikki eyes. At that moment Trisha knew Nikki and Helena’s lives would never be the same. Trisha took a deep breath and began to recap her visit to the doctor that morning. Trisha finished by saying Nikki I think I met your son today. Nikki made Trisha recant the story again and again right down to the part where the nurse called for Nicholas Wade-Steward. The hairs on the back of Nikki neck stood up as Trisha described the blonde to Nikki she knew it was Helen.

With tears still falling Nikki told Trisha the whole story of how she and Helen had meet at University and fallen madly in love at first glance. How they like every other couple had their lives all planed out right down to the type of house they would live in and the 2.4 kids. Nikki smiled as the memories came flooding back Nikki told Trisha how they had both found jobs right after graduation and started about making their dreams come true. And then came the day of the almost plane crash. Nikki explained how she and Helen had gone to the sperm bank together deposited their eggs for later use. Each had placed a certified letter on file giving the other 100% permission to use the other eggs. Nikki also recalled for Trisha the last time she had seen Helen six years ago. Both she and Helen had put so much time into their careers they had simply grown apart. The only thing they seem to do well was argue. Nikki went on to explain that it was a month before Helen’s birthday and slightly over two months before their tenth year anniversary when she had decided to use Helen’s eggs as a surprise hoping it would help to put their relationship back on track. A couple of weeks after the procedure I went to surprise Helen for lunch and walked in on her kissing her ex Sean. I was so shocked I just closed the door, dropped the flowers I had in my hand and left. I guess she found the flowers and her PA must have told her I had been around when Sean had been in her office because she came home straight away. I was already packed she tried to explain to tell me how sorry she was for letting Sean kiss her that seeing him all of a sudden caught her off guard. I was to upset to listen I could not hear her. I felt so betrayed I couldn’t stand to look at her she tried to touch me I walked out. Nikki looked at Trisha I had let you cheat and walk all over me I was determine not to let it happen again. I knew I had to get away so I asked for a transfer and took a job back here. It was about four months later before I realized the producer had work, the rest you know. Trisha sat with her mouth wide open Helen does not know about Helena. No I never told her once around her third birthday I had decided to send a letter with a picture to her fathers address but then I got to thinking about all the legalities and realized I could lose her after all in the eyes of the law she is Helens daughter I was just a surrogate so I decided to just leave thing as they were.

Part 3

Just seven miles away Helen was drinking vodka straight out of the bottle as Claire tried to calm her friend not having a clue to what happened to upset her so. Helen, talk to me what happened, what could have happened at the bloody doctors to make you act this way? Did the doctor say something is wrong with Nic. Is Nic all right? Claire turned and called Nicholas to come down. Did something happen at the doctors, are you aright Claire asked the little boy? I had to take two shots in my arm, I meet a new friend, and I got a lollypop for being good. Claire listened to Nicholas but she could find nothing in what the boy said to be upsetting. Oh, Nicholas turned to Claire and said my new friend has the same name as mommy and me, and she looks just like mum. With that said Nic was gone. Claire turned slowly to Helen all she could say was Nikki. I think Nikki had my child Claire what am I going to do. First tell me exactly what happen. Claire walked over to her friend still setting at the kitchen table. Go ahead tell me, but first give me that taking the vodka bottle away. Helen gave Claire the quick version of what had happened earlier that day. Helen what was the little girls name Nicholas said it was the same as yours? It was Helena Stewart-Wade Helen answered. Helen are you sure? Yes, Claire I checked the sign in book again as I was paying before I left. To bad it did not have some information we could use. Helen took a piece of paper out of her pocket like address and phone number you mean. Helen how did you? Piece of cake was all Helen managed to say.

So what was the woman’s name that was with the little girl? Here name is Patricia Harris. Does that ring a bell is she related to Nikki? No I don’t think so Helen had this far off look as if she was trying to remember something in her eyes wait a minute I think that was the name of Nikki’s ex before me. I always blamed her for our break up. Why did Nikki go back to her? No she cheated on Nikki and hurt her really badly so when Nikki saw me with Sean she just believed the worst. Plus we were not getting on well at the time but the whole cheating thing was what pushed her over the edge. I didn’t know you never told me what happened to split you and Nikki up. Because I don’t know for sure Nikki vanished in the matter of a couple of weeks she changed jobs turned off her mobile and did not tell any of our friends she was leaving. Or so they told me. I could only believe that she thought I had cheated on her because she saw Sean kissing me. She would not listen to reason so I decided to let her calm down and I would try to talk to her then, but I never got the chance. I never saw her again. The day Sean showed up in my office I had just found out I was pregnant with Nicholas. I called Nikki she did not answer so I left this mysteries message telling her there was something extremely important we needed to talk about and it could and would not wait. A few minutes later Sean show up I was so happy when he went to kiss me I just went with it. About twenty minutes later I found flowers on the floor outside my door and my PA said Nikki had left very upset so I said a quick good bye to Sean and high tailed it home. Nikki was almost through packing when I got there I tried my best to reason with her but she never spoke a word she just cried and left she did not even look back as she drove away. That was almost six years ago. That night I found a letter she had written to me on our first Valentines together where she told me she had been in love once and had her heart ripped from her chest she begged me if I ever wanted out to just tell her and although it would hurt like hell she would respect my decision, just promise to never cheat. After reading the letter I knew she would never believe me so I put all the love I have for her into our child. For the last five and a half years every times I look at Nicholas I see Nikki looking back at me.

Just as Helen walked to the bathroom to wash her face the door bell rang, would
you get that Claire I’ll be right out just need to freshen up a bit? The voice Helen heard make her stop dead in her tracks. Hello Nikki it’s good to see you again, you to Claire the two friends hugged. Claire I would like to see Helen is she here. Yes, she just went to freshen up a bit she will be right out. And you must be Trisha nice to meet you. As Nikki turned to ask Claire how she knew Trisha all she heard was hiya Nikki. Not knowing what to say or do they just stared at each other for what seemed like hours. The silence was broken as Nicholas ran into the room asking for a drink. Hey Little Man I would like you to meet someone, with that said Trisha handed Helena hand over to Nikki until now Helen was not aware she was there, she had been hiding behind Trisha’s leg. This is Nikki you remember I told you about her and you have a picture of us next to your bed. Yes, you are my other mum and Nicholas gave Nikki a big bear hug. Nikki was crying so hard she could hardly breathe. And who do we have here that’s my new friend Helena don’t you remember we met her today, Nicholas broke his hug from Nikki and ran to bring Helena over to meet his mum. See I told you she looks like you mum. The little girl just shook her head and smiled up at Helen. Baby, Nikki took her hand this is Helen do you remember what mama told you about her she is where you come from. On hearing those words Helen could no longer hold back her tears. Helena turned to Nicholas and asked why are they crying I don’t know you want to see my room ok and off they went leaving Nikki and Helen to sort things out. Claire and Trisha, both being hopeless romantics, decided they had better stay close or nothing would ever get sorted.

How have you been Nikki but before she could answer Helen pulled her into her arms with the strength of ten men. Nikki could only hold on for near life. I don’t know where to begin Helen what do we do now. It was several minutes before Helen seem to loosen her grip on Nikki. I’ve missed you Nikki so much was all Helen could say. I promise I never cheated on you before or after you left you are the only person I have ever loved. Nikki could see the sincerity in Helen eyes she knew she was telling the truth. I was such an idiot Helen when I saw you kissing Sean it hurt so bad I saw my whole world crumbling around me. I could not believe it was happening to me again. Helen you were my soul mate the one person I trusted with my life if you could betray me like that I no longer believed in love. I just wanted to die I had to get as far away from you as I possible could. But Nikki I tried to tell you it was Sean who kissed me and that was the first time I had seen him in years. He was in town for business and had looked me up. You must have walked in just as he pulled me into a hello kiss. Nikki’s mind began to race had she really through ten years away so easily was what Helen saying true. She began to cry uncontrollable again. As Helen watched Nikki cry the anger began to rise in her all over again she blamed Nikki for all the years of loneliness she had endured because of her jealousy and lack of trust. Without even thinking Helen picked up the first thing she saw and sent it hurling across the room you broke up our family without a second thought how could you profess to love me and leave me like that? The sound of broken glass brought everyone’s attention to Helen. Claire could you and Trisha take the kids out for a while Nikki and I need to talk. Neither Trisha nor Claire thought that was such a good idea each knowing what kind of temper their friends have. Are you sure Helen we could take the kids upstairs and keep them out of your way? No, I ‘m sure Helen replied Nikki gave Trisha a reassuring smile as they went upstairs to get the kids.

Part 4

Helen what do you want me to say I can’t make the last six year go away. Believe me I would if I could. Do you know what it’s like to lay awake at night missing you so much that my body physically ached, to wonder where you were are how you were doing every minute of every day. Yes, Nikki I do, but unlike you I had no idea where you were or how to find you. I tried everything in my power to find you I thought once you calmed down you would realize that I could never cheat on you, that our love was much too strong for that. But you didn’t Nikki you left me crushed and alone for no reason you walked out on our life and you never looked back. We never moved I stayed put for six years waiting on you to walk through the door waiting on you to come back but you never did. Why did you leave me like that, how could you turn your back on everything we had been through without so much as a second thought? Helen you have no idea what my life was like after I saw you with Sean I felt like such a fool, I could see you with him behind my back living the live you always wanted the easy life, one that did not include me. Helen think back we went days without seeing each other we were barely speaking to each other and when we did it was only to argue. So when I saw you kissing Sean it was an easy conclusion. I loved you so much I did not want to stand in your way I only wanted you to be happy even if it did not include me. Helen I knew that you were my soul mate but that did not mean you felt I was your so I did what I thought was best for you I let you go. Helen stood and stared at Nikki for a long time and without another word she slapped Nikki as hard as she could. Nikki was so shocked she could not move, she finally pulled Helen to her and kissed her as gently as she could. I’ve missed you to was all Nikki said as the kiss became more passionate.

Helen tried with all the willpower she could muster to pull her body away from Nikki, but it would not listen. She was in Nikki's arms again the place she had wanted to be for so long. Desperately needing air Nikki finally broke the kiss. Helen could feel herself falling under Nikki's spell. She could not think she needed to put some space between her and Nikki. Helen decided to go sit down, she had to clear her head, but Nikki's long arms were too quick. Nikki pulled Helen back into her body kissing up and down her neck. Nikki please stop, we can't do this. You can't just walk back into my life and jump straight back into my bed; don't you realize how much you hurt me? When you left me I did not think I could live. The day you left was suppose to be the happiest day of our lives I had just found out I was pregnant. I called you but you didn't answer. I couldn't tell you over the phone that's why I asked you to come to my office. Do you really think I would have asked you to come to my office if my lover was there? Helen was trying to maintain her anger as Nikki moved to kiss the other side of her neck. Wade are you listening to me? Nikki took a deep breath, turned Helen around to face her and said tell me you love me. Helen stared into Nikki eyes until she could no longer hold back the tears. Nikki I can't do this. Helen tell me you love me. If you can tell me you don't love me I will not pursue it any further you have my word.

Nikki what do you want me to say? Do you want me to tell you that I never stopped loving you, that every time I even tried to date some one else I felt like I was cheating, that I have not let another person touch me since you. Is that what you want to hear Nikki? Why Nikki my love was not enough for you to trust me then why should it matter now? Love without trust equals what Nikki, look at us we have nothing. Helen how can you say we have nothing, we have shared more together than most people do in a life time. I made a mistake Helen a big mistake I am not trying to minimize it but I can't take it back. I can spend the rest of my live showing you that you did not make a mistake giving us another chance. So Helen I will ask you one more time tell me that you love me and you are willing to give us a chance to be a family the way we always planned. Mom Mom I'm going to Helena house we are going to have a sleepover. What, Helen had never been so happy to hear her son's voice. Aunt Claire and Aunt Trisha are going to take us for ice cream and then I am going to spend the night at Mom Nikki's house. Claire saw the look of distress on Helen's face. Helen don't worry I am going to stay with Trisha and help her with the kids. I'm not sure that is a good idea we have only got here today. I think we need to settle in a bit tonight? Nicholas don't you want to spend the night in your new room? No mom I want to go with them please can I. Helen couldn't take it, both Nikki and Nicholas giving her the sad puppy dog eyes. Claire, I think it will be ok to take them for ice cream that will give Nikki and I time to talk, but bring him back home after that please. Claire took Helen's hand and led her into the kitchen are you alright what's going on? Why don't you want me to keep Nicholas away tonight? Claire, I can't spend the night with Nikki I'm not strong enough if we spend the night together there won't be a lot of talking. Helen, and that's a bad thing because? I know you still love her and from what Trisha has told me she still loves and wants to be with you. Not to mention you have two children together. Helen still could not believe she had a daughter. Helen fell apart in her friends arms. Claire tell me what to do, please tell me what to do. Claire I'm scared what if I take her back and she leaves us again? Can't you see I can't take that chance I have to protect Nicholas? If you are afraid of being alone with Nikki why don't you go out and Trisha and I will stay here with the kids. That's a good idea but where could we go, we need somewhere we can hear without shouting. And you still have to take the kids out for ice cream you promised them. Nikki and I will stay here until you get back if things go alright then we can go out or you can take Nik to Nikki's.

Nikki I need you to listen to me, this has been both an amazing and confusing day for me. Nikki you had my child. And you had mine Helen; he is a beautiful little boy. Not to mention he looks just like me Nikki said with a big smile on her face. Yes, he does he especially has your eyes. Tell me about Helena, what is she like? Helen she is the sweetest little girl, but I'm afraid she inherited your stubbornness it's really quit funny to watch. She can pout with the best of them, but once she makes up her mind I am in a lot of trouble. She actually gives me a good fight, she reminds me so much of you sometimes. Wow, we have two children, Nikki we have a family. Don't you understand Nikki this is why we must be carefully, we have to put the children's need before our. If we rush into a relationship and it doesn't work the kids would be hurt, we can't let that happen. Helen I am going to put my family back together, I want a life with both my children and my wife. Nikki why does it feel like I am having this conversation by myself? Helen you want to do what you have always done, make a plan, be careful, and take things slowly. Me Helen I want you and our family and I want you now. That said Nikki walked over to Helen and sat down to look into her eyes Helen tell me you want the same thing, tell me you love me.

I know different countries have different words that mean the same thing I have managed to work most of them out but I am having trouble with two. I know what they mean but I don't know what the initials stand for CV and PMT. In America a CV is called a resume' and PMT is PMS, or post or pre menstrual syndrome. Thanks for your help in advance

Helen knew Nikki was right she always played it safe; playing by the rules was the only way she knew. Nikki had always been her exception. There was nothing safe about Nikki Wade. She felt more alive in Nikki presents tonight then she had in the last six years. Helen felt her reserve falling, being so close to Nikki after all this time. Time spent dreaming about this very day, the day she would finally be with Nikki again and introduce her to their son. Helen turned to tell Nikki how she was feeling and was meet with the deepest brown eyes full of pure desire she had ever seen. Helen could not fight any more game, set, and match Nikki. Helen I know we have a lot to talk about. Helen placed her finger to Nikki's lips if I recall correctly Wade talking is what you do afterwards. Helen stood and held out her hand I love you Nikki, I am trusting you not only with my heart this time but that of our children please don't break them. Nikki stood and pull Helen to her I promise to guard them with my life. Tonight is a new beginning for us the past is just that it will have no bearing on our future. Helen I am not asking you to forget but to forgive me and help me put our family back together. Nikki I am so scared, but I want this family more than I have ever wanted anything in my life. I am willing to work as hard as it takes. Helen every ounce of me wants to make love to you until we have made up for all the time we spent apart, but I think you are right we should work on rebuilding our relationship first. Helen smiled pushed Nikki down on the couch and straddled her in one motion. Helen touched her lips to Nikki's softly at first with each touch becoming more passionate. Nikki you own me six years of orgasms and I plan to collect on every one so shut up and get to work. Nikki looked at Helen for a minute and just how many would you say that might me. Oh, Trisha I am sorry, I know this must be hard on you I did not mean to be insensitive. Thanks Claire but I have not idea what you are talking about. You and Nikki, you are Nikki's partner right? No, no Nikki and I are friends she is my closest friend, but what about you and Helen? Same here Helen and I have been friends since University never anything more. Good I would not want you to be hurt Claire. Trisha noticed a small tear roll down Claire's face without thinking she took her in her arms to comfort her. Trisha I'm sorry but that was the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me. Nic helped Helena out of her chair and they both went to hug Claire. What's the matter why are you crying Trisha and Claire were both surprised as they noticed two small sets of arms around them. They could not help picking them up showering them with kisses and assuring them they were just happy to meet the two of them. Well you two we had better go we have a sleep over to get to. The kids began to cheer. Trisha I just have to stop by mine and pick up a few things and we can pick up a movie for us if you wish. Sounds like a plan thanks for staying and giving me a hand tonight. Thank you for letting me I want to get to know Helena, she seems like a really sweet little girl. She is and Nichols looks so much like Nikki it's scary. He even walks like her. Yea, I know and Helena has Helen's smile and her eyes. Ready kids it's time to go, Trisha took Nic's hand and Claire took Helen's and they left the restaurant looking like a very happy family.

Helen's whole body was trembling; she could not believe Nikki was here with her in her bed in her arms after all these years. "Helen what's wrong are you alright?" "I'm fine Nikki I am just scared, I don't want to mess this up again. I've miss you so much Nikki, I have dreamed of this moment for so long now that you are here I am scared." "Helen I understand, we are going to take thing slowly I don't want to rush you in any way. If you are not sure about this we can wait. Why don't we go back down stairs and watch a movie or just talk some more would that be ok with you." Helen gave Nikki a look of total shock "let me get this straight Nikki you are laying in my bed naked for the first time in six years and you want us to get dressed and watch a video, please tell me you are joking." "Helen I love you we have waited this long I would wait forever to be with you again I hope you know that. This morning when I woke up, I had no idea that you were in London, that I had a son or that you still loved me so waiting to make love again is not a problem. Helen don't you know I would wait for you forever I love you so much." Nikki took Helen in her arms wiping away the tears that were falling down her cheeks.

Nikki blinked hard to fight back the tears that stung her eyes. Helen took a deep breath she could not believe the events of the last couple of hours. Her heart was so full, not only were Nikki's arms around her she had a daughter, a beautiful little girl to love. Without giving it, another thought Helen took Nikki face in her hands and stared into her eyes until Nikki understood without her saying another word. Nikki pulled Helen into a very passionate kiss. Their passion grew so quickly Helen body was out of control she was with Nikki her Nikki nothing else in the world mattered. Helen and Nikki made love slowly, tenderly yet very passionately remembering all the love they shared. Helen was completely lost in Nikki's body she belonged to Nikki Heart, body and soul. This night was better than any dream she had in the last six years and there had been plenty. Nikki kept repeating Helen's name over and over she could not put into words the love she felt for her lover. Nikki had not felt this complete in such a long time her body screamed from every surface. Trisha could not have asked for a better date if she had looked for one. But this was not a date. They were thrown together because of their best friends past. Claire's hands were sweating she had only been away from Trisha for a couple of minutes but she missed her she had never felt this way about anyone in her life. Trisha was lost in a daydream and did not hear Claire come down stairs. Claire could not help the smile crossing her face as she stood watching Trisha, she wonder what she was thinking. The sound of the microwave finally brought Trisha back to reality. "Hey you, a penny for them." "What, oh it was nothing."

“What are you smiling at Claire?" “If you could have seen the look on your face, you would not have to ask me that. Where were you just then you looked a million miles away." “No, only about five feet, I can't believe how well we get on. I feel like I have known you forever." Claire was smiling and blushing at the same time she could not control either. “I was thinking the same thing being with you tonight feels warm, familiar, and right I don't understand how I could feel so strongly for someone I just met." Trisha blinked hard to hold back the tears that threaten to fall down her face. She was so overwhelmed by Claire's words she did not notice her move across the room until she felt her hands in hers.

“Nikki are you awake, what are you thinking?" “You, us, our children, how good I feel right now holding you in my arms again. Helen I love you so much my heart is so full right now; I think it just might break." “Nikki I feel the same way, I'm afraid to go to sleep I am scared I'm dreaming again and you won't be here when I wait up." Nikki smiled at Helen and pinched her on the arm “does that help, do I feel real now." “Very funny Wade that hurts you knows." “Yea, I know but you should be able to fall asleep now knowing that we are really here together." “I can think of a lot less painful ways for you to help me fall asleep Nikki." “I bet you can Helen why don't you show me.

Claire could not believe how good Trisha's lips felt as they kissed for the first time. “Trisha I have never done anything like this before not even with a man. I normally don't kiss or anything else on the first date but I want to be close to you, I want to make love with you." Trisha took a step back so that she could get a good look at Claire she had to make sure she understood what she was saying. Without a word, Trisha took Claire's hand and led her upstairs to the guest bedroom.

Helen woke the next morning with the biggest smile on her face; she had the most exciting dream. She went to move but couldn't there was someone's arm wrapped around her. Helen was about to scream when she heard “good morning sweetheart how did you sleep." Helen's mind was racing, was she still dreaming that sounds like Nikki she felt soft lips on her neck this was some dream. Helen decided to go with it and turned around to meet her bedmate head on. After all what did she have to lose she knew it had to be Nikki she was the only person she dreamed about. Helen wanted to have some fun she was feeling free this morning. She was going to do everything to Nikki in her dream she had always been to afraid to do in real life. For once, she was going to let her guard down and not worry about what was right and proper. It is her dream after all who would know. Helen had always wanted to dominate Nikki to take the lead and make Nikki her slave. Helen wanted to be the strong one she wanted to hear Nikki scream her name and that was exactly what she was going to get. Helen began to feel really turned on the thought of possessing Nikki Wade was almost too much for her. Helen straddle Nikki with a wicked smile on her face, Nikki smiled back “what's gotten into you this morning." “Did I tell you it was ok to talk you don't say anything until I tell you to speak do you understand me. Nikki did not know how to take Helen but what the hell the look in Helen's eyes was taking her places she had never been before. Helen grabbed Nikki's hands penning them behind her head “just what are you laughing at” Helen said as she took hold of Nikki's bottom lip biting down much harder then necessary. “Hey, that hurt why did you do that?" “Did I tell you to talk well did I” Nikki took a long look at Helen and without a second thought began to tickle her. Helen fell over laughing, “say Uncle Helen say uncle or I will not stop." “Nikki you are the worst love slave I have ever had” Helen yelled between laughs. “And what do you mean I am the only love slave you have every had at least I better be.” “Nikki this is the best dream I have every had I hope I never wait up I love you so much." Nikki pulled away and took a very hard look at Helen. “Helen I need you to sit up for me," “why", " just do it“. Helen sat up facing Nikki. “Baby you know I love you right?" “Yes Nikki why do you ask?" Nikki took the pillow and swung it at Helen's head Helen felt backward screaming, “I am going to kill you Nikki." Helen jumped up and grabbed her own weapon one hell of a pillow fight was on the way. Out of nowhere, Helen yielded “wait that hurt dreams don't hurt." “Really, Helen where does it hurt” Nikki said with a wicked smile on her face. “All over really," “you mean like here” Nikki said as she kissed Helen's neck “or here” as she kissed her shoulder “or what about here” Nikki pulled Helen into a very long passionate kiss. “Still think you're dreaming” Nikki asked Helen as she tried to regain her breath. Helen was not sure which emotion she felt most embarrassment or happiness. Nikki gave Helen a big hug “I love you so much do you know how happy I was to wake up with you in my arms." “Helen you made all of my dreams of the last six years come true, no this is better then any dream I have every had. Helen you are here, we are here together do you hear what I am saying we woke up in each other's arms this morning." Both Nikki and Helen had tears falling down their faces. “I love you Nikki Wade” and “I love you Helen Stewart."

Claire felt small hands rubbing her face we are hungry “may we have breakfast please." “Trisha, Trisha the children are asking for their breakfast." Trisha woke to two small sets of eyes staring down at her. “All right, you two go wash your hands and I will meet you down stairs in a couple of minutes." As soon as the kids were out the door, Trisha placed her arms around Claire “is there a reason you woke me Auntie Claire doesn't breakfast fall under Auntie 101." “Yes, this one” Claire said as she placed a kiss on Trisha's lips. “I was scared to death I am so glad we put our tee shirts back on this morning." “I'm glad you woke me up I'm especially glad for the way you woke me up early this morning." “I can't believe I am acting like this, Trisha I promise you I have never been like this with anyone. I am never the aggressor I never had the nerve. If anyone had told me, I would ever feel this way about anyone especially a woman I would never believed them." “Wait a minute Claire are you telling me you had never been with a woman before? I am the first woman you have every slept with. “Trisha you are the first and only woman I will ever be with I have never been attracted to a woman in my life. Wow, Trisha you couldn't tell I was so nervous I don't think I have ever been that scared in my life. I knew I was making a complete fool of myself but you made me feel so hot and so wanted I did not think about it. I only thought of you and how happy you make me. Trisha, I have never been able to let myself go like that with anyone. I have always been guarded with people until I get to know them but with you from the moment we first spoke I have felt more comfortable with you than anyone I have ever met even Helen. “I don't know how to explain it Claire I feel exactly the same way it feels like I have known you all my life." “Auntie Claire, Auntie Trisha we're ready can we get some juice please?" “No honey wait we will be right there. "We need to call Claire and Trisha and check on the kids we should have heard from them by now. I hope the kids did not cause a problem." Let's see a little over four years now I went out for drinks one night and I heard someone calling my name. That was the first time I had seen her in twelve years. We slipped back into a comfortable friendship, nothing more. She fell in love with Helena and took over the role of god mother and Auntie Claire. I was there for her when she went through a very bad breakup last year that’s about it. And you Helen there is no one special in your life should I brace myself to fight for you.” “Only against the jerk that left me six years ago she is the only one who has my heart. Nikki I will tell you for the last time there has been no on in my life other than Nicholas and my dreams of you, ok.” “Ok, I had to ask Helen you are so beautiful I know people have thrown themselves at you.” Sure they have Nikki but I never tried to catch any of them.”

“Let’s grab some breakfast and we can go and collect the kids.” “What, why they are in good hands Nikki I’m sure it’s like you said they are just trying to give us some time together we still have a lot to talk about. We have a lot of decisions to make.” “All right lets have breakfast, take a shower and then we can talk.” “Helen why don’t we take a shower first? Two hours later, “Helen as much as I love you I am starving you have got to feed me. A train with no energy doesn’t move and some how I don’t think you want a dead train for later do you?” “Ok, ok spoil sport there are so menu’s in the kitchen cabinet or do you want to go out?” “Helen, I think we really should call the kids we can all have lunch together.” “I know you’re right I am being selfish I just want you all to myself as long as I can.” “I know babe, but we have to think about Claire and Trisha they did us a big favor last night I don’t want to impose on them to long.” “Why don’t we get dress and go over to your place we can order food from there.” Good idea but first I was thinking we should probably get one in for the road.” Nikki wade you are incorrigible.” A couple of hours and two showers late Nikki and Helen pulled into Nikki garage. Nikki open the door as Helen shouted Kids we’re home.

Trisha and Claire had put the kids down for a nap and were wrapped in each others arms on the couch watching the other video when Nikki and Helen came in. Well the video was on but Claire and Trisha were defiantly not concentrating on the movie, they did not hear the garage closing or Nikki turning the key until it was too late. When Helen yielded for the kids Claire jumped up out of Trisha arms trying to button her shirt. “Well what do we have here Helen at least we know why we have not heard from them?” Helen was laughing so hard tears were rolling down her face, she knew how embarrassed Claire must feel right now although Trisha was laughing right along with them. “Nikki where are our children, do you think they gave them to much cold medicine to make sure they stayed asleep.” “I’m not sure Helen knowing Trisha she probably bribed them to watch TV in their room or told them they were playing a game and they should not come out until they came for them or they would lose.” Helen was enjoying the look of total horror on Claire’s face as Nikki continued to tease them. “Is it ok for us to come any further are you two decent I mean are you dressed.” Trisha finally notice Claire was froze in the same spot and decided to try and rescue her “ok guys you have had your laugh leave the poor woman alone I think you have dramatized her for life.” “Nikki did we every get an answer to were our children are or if we can safely enter the room?” “No Helen I don’t think we did, why don’t we go this way and see for ourselves if our children and safe with their god mothers or if we should call child protective services?” “I’m not sure we should make that call Nikki, I mean won’t they ask us why we left our children with such people as these and we will be force to tell them so we could make love all night that might not go over well in our favor.” “I see you point then our only other option is to go into the room with caution and hope for the best keep on eye closed just incase.” “Ok, you win come on you have had your fun stop taking the piss and come on over here.” Nikki and Helen were still laughing as they walked over to where Claire stood still unable to speak. Helen did not know what to say to Claire, “I guess a lot has happened in a year since you moved to London a few things you forget to tell me about Claire.” “No Helen a lot of things have changed over night from the looks of it you two did not kill each other.” “Nice try solicitor but no dice start explaining.” “What can I say Trisha is a really good baby sitter” she said smiling over at Trisha. Claire could no longer hold back the laughter she had to admit they must have looked a site to be caught out like that by Nikki and Helen was funny. She went over and sat on the couch next to Trisha “so how was your night did you managed to sort thing out?” “Well obliviously not as good as the two of you but we gave it our best shot” Helen said getting one more dig in. “We came over to have lunch, have the two of you eaten, on second thought don’t answer that?” Helen fell over on the chair holding her stomach she could not take it anymore.

Helen enough “don’t you see you are beginning to really make Claire uncomfortable.” “No Nikki you don’t know what this woman put me though we I first told her about you revenge is much too sweet right now.” “Helen as they are our only two known babysitter I think we have laughed enough for one day.” “Oh, ok but you are no fun Nikki Wade.” “That’s not what you said last night or this morning for that fact.” Nikki walked over to Helen and placed a kiss on her lips. “So I will take that kiss as a yes you two managed to work some thing out?” “Yes, Claire Nikki helped me work out as many things as I’m sure Trisha helped you with” Helen said struggling not to laugh. “Nikki get Helen make her stop please” “Your turn mate I tried you saw me try. But I am really hungry let order a take away how long have the kids been asleep.” “Only about thirty minutes they should be down for a while. “Ok, I could run out and get something and a couple of bottles of wine. Come on Trisha grab your coat you’re coming with me.” “Great” Trisha went to the other room to get her coat gave Claire a quick kiss on the lips and went to meet Nikki in the car. Claire looked over to Helen and dropped her head this was going to be a long night.

"Ok, Helen go ahead I know Nikki left you here with me so that you could have a go at me, so lets have it shall we." "I don't know what you want me to do Claire I had no idea you were bi-sexual." "I'm not, when I left you last night my only reason for coming here with Trisha was because I thought it would be easier on Nicholas because he knew me. Plus I was hoping you wouldn't worry about him as much if he was with me. Helen I have never ever believed in fairy tales or love at first sight or being swept off ones feet but sweetie I do now. In less then four hours I could not imagine life without her. Trisha makes me feel like I am the only woman in the world. Helen when she kisses me I feel like I'm floating and God when we made love she took me places I have never ever been before." Helen watch the tears roll down Claire's face but she could tell, by the look on her face, they were tears of happiness. She had to admit she had never in their twenty year friendship heard Trisha talk about anyone this way. "Helen if anyone knows how I feel right now it's you. I don't know how I will feel tomorrow or once we leave this oases. I woke up yesterday thrill with the knowledge that my best friend and my godson were moving here. Today I woke in the arms of a woman that I want to spend the rest of my life with it does not make any sense. I don't think I have ever been so scared and yet so happy at the same time. Helen what am I going to do. I remember when our friends found out about you and Nikki all of the jokes and god your family Helen I don't know how you lived through that I don't know if I can." "Claire you don't have to make any decision right now take time to get to know Trisha. You don't need to run and proclaim to the world that you are in love with a woman. Helen took Claire into her arms "honey it's going to be ok, just take things slow if Trisha is the one it will work out, you don't have to get marry tomorrow." 'I'm not sure I could make it through this without you Helen, thanks for being here for me." "Hey where else would I be, if it had not been for you sticking by me all those years ago when I first thought I was losing my mind I don't know where I would have ended up. I can still remember the day you walked in on me crying my eyes out the day I saw Nikki kissing Sara. Until that day I did not allow myself to admit I had feeling for Nikki, but seeing her with someone else broke me. You talked me into telling Nikki the truth to forget about all my fears and just let myself be with the woman I loved. Because of you we spent ten beautiful years together, we have two lovely children and now thanks to you insistence that I talk to Nikki last night we now have a chance for a long and happy future." When Nikki and Claire got home Helen and Claire were playing a game of hide and seek with the kids. "Hey where is everybody we're back. Who's hungry?" Helen shot up from behind the couch, Claire was hiding behind the grandfather clock and Nicholas jumped out of the bath tub, it was Helena turn to find everybody. Nicholas was the first to reach Nikki "hi mom and Auntie Trisha where you been? We are playing hide and go seek mommy and Auntie Claire cheated." "We did not, we played fair and square." "No they didn't mom Nikki she picked me up and threw me on the couch to keep me from winning." "Helen" "what, that's in the rule book" "and just what rule book would that be." "Nikki you know Helen hates to lose she always cheats" Claire said entering the room. "Hey Babe, I miss you." "I missed you to these are for you I hope you like them I wasn't sure which flowers to get." "Thank you Trisha they are beautiful." "No you are beautiful I am so glad you are here with me." "And where else would she be then here with her woman" Helen said with a huge smile. Both Claire and Trisha blushed at Helen's words "let's eat before the food gets cold." "Where is Helena", "I'll go get her she's still upstairs it was her turn to find us" Helen said as she started up the stairs. Helen came downstairs caring Helena while Nikki and Claire sit the table and Trisha poured them all some wine. "Hey Nic where is the Camera I want to take some pictures of our first family meal." "It's in the hall closet on the top shelf I'll get it." They spent the rest of day playing with the kids and talking. Helen was really surprised she did not feel any resentment toward Trisha even though she had blamed Trisha for Nikki's insecurities. They actually got alone well she could see what both Nikki and Claire saw in her. Nikki raised her class "I want to make a toast here's to dreams coming true, new friendships and love cheers."

It had been a fantastic day for everyone, most of all for Nikki and Helen. They spent all afternoon holding their children and staring at each other lovingly. They took so many pictures of them with the children; it was as if they were trying to fill a whole photo album in one day. Nikki’s eyes swelled with tears every time she watched Nicholas do something nice for his little sister, she could not believe how protective he was of her. Helen took Nikki’s hand “I don’t know who is going to be hardest on her first boyfriend you or him.” “I think he has me beat Helen just watching him with her it’s so amazing. Nic is taking to being a big brother so well just look at how he is trying to protect her from everything. Did you see him run to her side when she fell? Helen you did a marvelous job with our son. Thank you for helping me put our family back together.” “You are very welcome darling, but do you have to call him Nic.” Helen said as she turned to let the kids know they could play for another hour and they would be back to tuck them in. “I should thank you as well Helena is perfect she does act a lot like me. The way she holds her mouth when she is thinking about something or the way she smiles when she’s excited she sounds so much like me, it’s amazing. We should thank Claire and Trisha they have both been very supportive. Nikki you never did tell me how you knew about Nicholas.” “Probably the same way you did, Trisha heard the nurse call Nicholas’ name and she had been watching the way you stared at Helena. Once the doctor was finished with Helena Trisha wrote down your name and address. She told me she thought she saw my son at the doctors and once she described the woman with Nicholas I knew it was you. I put two and two together from there after all I had done the same thing so it was not so far fetched.” “I had planned to ask you about that last night Trisha” Claire said. “And I wanted to know how you knew my name Claire? Nikki had never told me about Helen so I did not know either of you existed until yesterday so how did you know who I was?” “It’s exactly like Nikki said Helen got your name and address from the sign in book at the doctors.” Helen touched her finger to her nose, “just a bit of detective work.” They all laughed, “So Auntie Claire and Trisha why didn’t you get to ask each other these questions last night?” “Just like you said Helen, we were doing a bit of detective work” Trisha said pulling Claire in for a quick kiss on the lips.

The four settled in to a comfortable conversation finishing off another bottle of wine. Out of nowhere Claire’s mobile began to ring it was her PA calling to remind her of the dinner reservation she and Helen had at the new restaurant and club Chix downtown. “Thanks Maria I completely forgot I know how hard you worked to get those reservations for us” Claire said as she closed the lid on her phone. “Who was that Babe?” Trisha asked. “That was my PA Maria I had her do some research on some of the hot gay spots in town, I wanted to take Helen out somewhere she would feel comfortable.” “Oh, Claire that is so sweet,” “where are we going” Helen said with a very wicket grin. “Maria was able to get reservations at a club called Chix downtown it one of the hottest gay clubs in London according to Marias research.” At the mention of the club’s name Nikki looked over at Claire and smiled, “Claire I think it will be ok I happen to know one of the owners of the restaurant very well I think I can get the reservations upgraded to 4.” “That’s funny you say that Nikki because I know one of the owners of the club as well I am sure I can get us a table.” “So Helen what do you think? you up for a night out with the ladies?” “Claire I would love to but has everyone forgotten something or should I say two some things?” “Don’t worry babe Helena has a permanent babysitter I’ll call her and have her come home a little early. Trisha and I will get sorted and then we will take you ladies to get changed.” “Babysitter good, us getting dressed last bad, I think Claire and I will take your car stop by her house grab her clothes and go back to mine and get changed there. You guys can meet us there and we can all go together.” “Claire what time is the reservations?” “They are for 10:00, its 7:15 now we really need to go if we are going to make it in time.” “Trisha will you need to go home do you have something here you can wear?” “Claire the spare bed room is full of my stuff, I stay here a lot, but if I need to go home I live next door.” “Next door,” “as in the next drive way is mine Nikki and I brought these places a little over two years ago.” Both Helen and Claire smiled the thought of living next to each other appealed to them. “Alright Babe we had better go if we don’t want to be late.” “I really wanted you to stay and see the babysitter.” “Why if you approve of her I’m sure I will. But I would like to know how long she has been Helena’s babysitter?” “Since day one actually she was with me when I brought her home from the hospital.” “Oh, I see” Helen said as she looked over to Claire for some form of help she did not want to seem insecure. “Nikki,” “yes Claire” “just what type of sitter is this woman?” “Well, lets see the sixty-three year old kind.” Helen released the breath she had been holding and Claire smiled over to her. “We can come back here after the club and I can meet her then would that be ok?” “You could meet her in the morning she does not leave she has her own room she is out visiting a friend now. 10:00 is great that is the time I normally report to work anyway she will be back in plenty of time. “Nikki how big is this place how many bedrooms do you have?” “We have five Helen, and Trisha has four next door there is always enough room for everybody.” “You guys had better get a move on we will be by around 9:15 ok I love you.” “Back at you baby.” Helen and Claire went upstairs to kiss the kids’ goodnight and left to get dressed. “Nikki you don’t think we could tell them?” “Claire and what fun would that be, come on we need to get ready Barbara should be here soon. She is going to flip to find out she has a new grandson to spoil.”

Part 12

Helen and Claire were acting like teenagers getting ready for a Friday night date. They opened a bottle of wine and each tried on outfit after outfit while the other made comments. They were having so much fun they completely forgot about the time. Both Helen and Claire's mobile phones went off at the same time, it was Nikki and Trisha letting them know they were on their way. Helen saw Nikki’s number and let it go to voice mail.

"Hi sweetheart, are you almost ready? Trisha and I are on the way we should be there in about fifteen minutes I love you see you then." Was the message that Nikki left her.

Claire grabbed her phone without looking "oh hi babe, you are on your way but you said 9:15, what it's 9:30. Oh Helen ah she's in the shower yea we're almost ready. Babe I got to go see you soon." Snapping her phone shut she turned to Helen. "Helen it's 9:30, how come the only time I'm late is when I'm with you" Claire said throwing a pillow at her friend. "That was Trisha they will be here in about twenty minutes we have got to hurry. I'll jump in the other shower hurry up Helen we can't miss our reservations."

"Did you get though to Claire are they even close to being ready? I know Helen isn't she wouldn't even answer her mobile. I'm going to go and check on Barbara and then we can head over alright." Nikki asked Trish after leaving her message for Helen on her voice mail.

"Hi Barbara, how was Monica did you have a good day away?" Nikki asked her as she walked into the house.

"Yes, it was a very nice day I promised to visit more often and to bring Helena with me next time. Nikki are you and Trisha both going into work tonight?" She asked as she set her coat on the hook and turned to face the two women.

"Yes and no we are both going to the club but we are not going to work, we're going on dates." Nikki replied with a big grin on her face.

"You and Trisha are dating now; when on earth did that happen? I only went away for a day?"

"No, no we both have dates we are not dating each other" Nikki said quickly trying to relieve the shock on Barbara's face. Barbara's breathing returned to normal after hearing Nikki's last statement.

"Nikki are you ready" Trisha asked coming down stairs "we don't want to be late. Hi Barbara, good day off was it?" Trisha and Barbara were civil but not really friends.

"Yes Trisha my day away was relaxing, but as always I am happy to come back home to my family" Barbara said and walked away. "I had better go look in on the princess before I turn in good night ladies"

"See you in the morning Barbara,"

"Yes, good night Barbara."

"Well come on you I thing we have given them enough time it's after 10:00 now, though I know Helen is still not ready. I would always tell her to be ready and hour earlier then need be so that we would only be a little late. That woman is never on time for any thing" Nikki said remembering their ten years together with a huge smile.

Helen was determined to be almost on time. She dashed in to the bath room to grab a quick shower and put on her make up. She knew that Claire was going to make her look bad if she did not hurry she was always complaining about having to wait on her. But not this time, Claire was in total shock when she walked back into Helen's bedroom to find her buttoning up her shirt. "Am I seeing things or are you almost ready? Helen I am impressed."

"Very funny Claire, is that the door I hear would you get that I just have to put on my lipstick."

"Don't you think you should wait to do that, that way you won't get it all over Nikki?"

"Why Ms. Walker I think you have a very good point, I will wait until later. Let's go down and get the door then shall we. By the way you look great."

"And so do you Helen and that gigantic glow that you are wearing tonight is setting off your outfit marvelously."

"Well we most have got them at a two for one sale because you have a matching one."

"I know but I can't seem to stop smiling Helen trust me I have tried."

Helen opened the door to find Nikki and Trisha standing there both with beautiful flowers in there hands. "They are beautiful and you look gorgeous both of you" Helen said as she stepped aside to let them in. Trisha walked toward Claire "babe you look" Claire kissed her before she could finish. "I missed you too, we have really got to hurry we are already late."

"Don't worry Claire I called ahead and told them we were running a little bit late, we will be ok."

"Nikki are you sure, I don't want them to give our table to someone else?"

"I promise Claire it will be fine I spoke with the manage our table will be waiting for us when we get there." Nikki gave Claire a reassuring look "are you ladies ready to go then?"

The drive was very comfortable they chatted about anything and everything, nothing heavy Claire and Trisha held hands in the back seat excited about there first real date. Nikki pulled up in front of the restaurant and waited on the valet to give her a ticket before going to open the door for Helen. Trisha was the first to notice and remember as she looked straight ahead at the over sized picture of her and Nikki in the entrance of the restaurant. She knew she was going to have to listen to Nikki rant and rave all night she always hated having their picture up. Trisha knew Nikki wanted to string the girls along a lot longer. They both had forgotten about picture. Helen was the first to notice the massive likeness of her lover and Trisha hanging on the wall.

"Nikki, baby why is there a picture of you and Trisha hanging there?" Claire followed Helen's stare and turned to wait for an answer.

Nikki gave Trisha the stare of death, "I know you hate the picture and it's a really stupid idea, I know how you feel about the picture Nikki, you have told me enough times." Just as Nikki was about to blast Trisha for spoiling her fun David, the maitre d', came around the corner "hey boss we have your table ready for you, right this way ladies."

"Trisha do you have something to tell me?"

"Like what babe?"

"Like why did he just call you boss and why is yours and Nikki's picture hanging there?" Helen and Claire liked back and forward between Nikki and Trisha waiting for an answer.

"Look would one of you say something" Helen was getting a little angry.

"We own the place ok, I run the restaurant, and Trisha runs the club."

"But why all the secrecy why didn't you just tell us Nikki?"

"Come on Helen and ruin all the fun, we wanted to wine and dine you a little first, that's all. You know it's a bit funny of all the places in London you chose ours."

Claire was first to speak, "you know Nikki's right it is pretty funny when you think about it and they could have got away with it if it had not been for that god awful photo of the two of you.

Nikki shook her head at Trisha again, "if you think that one is bad wait until we get to the club.” Trisha quietly added.

Part 13

Claire could not believe the decor of the restaurant, it was more beautiful then all the rumors. Helen was not surprised at all, she could see Nikki all through the place. She had always loved Nikki's decorating taste. They were seated at Nikki's favorite table. It was in a corner, with a gorgeous floor to ceiling window. The view was perfect you could watch the sun set or have a perfect moonlit dinner.

"Nikki this is beautiful, you and Trisha have done a fantastic job, and everything is so elegant. I am so happy to see you finally made your dreams come true, and much sooner than we ever dreamed."

Nikki simply smiled, "when I ran into Trisha that night at the club she invited me to dinner the next night where she told me of her dream of opening up her own club. I told her I had always wanted a restaurant, the rest as they said is history. A few months later we had found this place, it was perfect, we found a good contractor and the results are what you see here."

"Hello ladies my name is Samuel and I will be your waiter for this evening, what may I get you to drink?"

The night had a total magical feel about it to anyone watching it looked like four very close friends out enjoying a meal.

Trisha raised her glass "I would like to make a toast to Nikki and Helen may tonight be the first of many beautiful nights, may your family grow and prosper, and may only happiness follow you for the rest of your lives."

Helen was trying to hold her emotions in check "thank you Trisha that was so nice of you. I had given up hope of ever feeling this kind of happiness again. I had set my resolve to life without Nikki, so I knew I would never have real love again. When I stepped off that plane yesterday, I was content to start a new life with my son, and spend time with my best friend, this morning I woke up in the arms of the woman who owns my heart completely and the knowledge that I have a beautiful daughter. My heart could not be fuller if I were writing a fairy tale."

Helen smiled over at Claire before turning back to Nikki, "you took this off six years ago and left it on our bed, I was wondering if you would consider wearing it again'"

Helen said handing Nikki a gold band.

"I don't want to rush you if you are not ready to wear it maybe you could just hold on to it until you are."

Tears were streaming down Nikki's face.

"Helen I thought you would never ask, but where's yours?"

"Its right here baby would you like to do the honors?" Helen's asked giving her ring to Nikki.

"It would be my pleasure, Helen Elizabeth Stewart-Wade do me the honor of wearing this ring as a symbol of our undying love for one another?"

"I will and will you Nicola Gabriella Stewart-Wade do me the honor of accepting this ring as a symbol of our everlasting trust and comment to one another from this day on?"

"I will Helen I will never do anything to cause harm to you or our family again I promise. You have my permission to stop me from making foolish decision from now on."

"Nikki are you sure I have witnesses here?"

Nikki was not sure what Helen meant at first you was just amount to worry when she saw the smile on her face.

"Oh I see I just gave you permission to keep me in line I guess that is funny coming from me. But yes Helen I am absolutely sure, I love you with all of my heart."

There wasn't a dry eye at the table.

"A truly happy sight we must be, would you guys stop this before they throw us out for depressing the place," Claire asked.

"I think there is very little chance of that happening Claire" Trisha said as she clicked her glass to Nikki's.

"Yea, I forgot you guys are good friends of the owners'"

finally the table erupted in laughter.

Dinner was marvelous everything was perfect.

"Nikki I think that was the best meal I have ever eaten here."

"Really Trisha was it the meal or the company I don't think you stopped staring at Claire long enough to know what you were eating?"

Nikki's comments caused both Trisha and Claire to blush completely embarrassed.

"Well I for one loved both the meal and the company" Helen said "now I can't wait to get on the dance floor and work some of this lovely food off."

That said Nikki called the waiter over for one final drink before they left for the club. Since the club was less than a block from the restaurant they decided to walk over. To Nikki's and Trisha's delight the queue was already wrapped around the building.

"Looks like it's going to be a busy one tonight, Trisha do you think we have enough bar staff?"

"We should be fine plus both of the mangers Paul and Rod are here tonight it shouldn't be a problem."

Claire took Trisha's hand as she notice the number of women staring at her, "as long as the two of you don't have to pitch in I will be very happy."

As Trisha and Nikki made their way into their club towards the bar, all heads were on them this was the first time any of their customers had ever seen them with dates, and now here they were walking hand in hand with two gorgeous women, headed toward the bar. Most people had always thought Nikki and Trisha were a couple that's why they never hit on them.

Truth be told they let people think that to keep down confusion.

"Hey Nik I guess our gig is up I can't claim you anymore."

"Yea mate you could have at least sent me flowers first," Nikki said looking at all of the socked looks they were receiving.

Nikki showed the ladies to VIP while Trisha went to the bar.

"Hey Boss what can I get you,"

"hey Pat send a bottle of champagne and four glasses up to VIP would you, thanks hun.”

Trisha looked around seeing how busy they were asked "where are Rod and Paul why aren't they down here with you?"

"Paul went to the office about an hour ago he said he had to take care of something for you and I haven't seen Rod all night."

"Let me have the champagne I'll take it up then I will go and sort out Paul thanks."

Trisha took the champagne up and told Nikki what Pat had said, they excused themselves to go and find Paul. Nikki and Trisha heard voices coming from their office.

"Did you give Paul and key to our office?"

"No and I locked it before I left"

Nikki was getting a very bad feeling about this. Nikki held up her hand to stop Trisha from entering the office and took out her mobile to call Carl he was the head of security.

"Carl I need you to bring up two other guys and meet me in my office right away," Nikki said and hung up the phone.

Trisha was very impressed two days ago Nikki would have insisted on storming in there and handling the situation herself she knew without asking Nikki it was all because of Helen and the kids that she was not putting herself in danger. Moments later Carl, Trisha, Nikki, and two other bouncers were waiting for the police to arrive and arrest Paul and Rod.

When Nikki opened the door they found Rod trying to open the safe and Paul was copying bank records from their computer. To Nikki's surprise it was Trisha who hauled off and hit Paul. The police came and escorted them off through the back door of the club, leaving the customers none the wiser. Nikki had gone to get a bucket of ice for Trisha's hand when she came face to face with a very upset Helen and Claire, with everything happening so fast she had forgot to go and attend to them.

Nikki looked from Helen to Claire back to Helen again, "Ah hell come with me."

They entered the office and found Trish holding her hand up in pain.

"What in the world happened here,"

"Claire I'm sorry we had a bit of a problem and it took a little longer then we expected to get it sorted," Trisha looked toward Nikki for help.

"Nikki what is Trisha talking about, just what did she whisper to you when she came to get you?"

"Helen, we came to look for the mangers we hired they should have been downstairs helping at the bar but we found them in our office attempting to rob us instead."

"What happened to Trisha's hand, you did not try and stop them your selves did you?"

"No, no Helen we didn't we called security and they came in with us you just missed the police taking them away."

"If that's true Trisha what happened to your hand," Claire asked but already knowing the answer. "Please don't tell me that the Wade temper is matched by her business partner?"

Trisha could only lower her head.

"Ok, ok I hit him but the bastard deserved it he was stealing from us."

"Let me get this straight you called for help and you hit him" Helen asked as she could no longer hold back.

"Will wonders never cease I never thought I would see the day when Nikki Wade would back down from a fight and do the sensible thing and call for help instead."

"Well my dear you never saw a very married with children Nikki Wade, I have a family who depends on me I can't be a cowboy any more."

Helen pulled Nikki into a very slow and passionate kiss, "Why Nikki Wade I think that is the most romantic thing you have ever said to me."

"Trisha why don't you let Claire take you home I will call in a few more people to help downstairs before we head out. Helen and I will stay until they get her."

"That sounds like a plan Nikki, but call over to the restaurant and see if any of the guys want to work over here that would be much faster, Claire and I will wait, and leave with you guys, I am fine."

"If you are sure Trisha I'll make the call now."

"I'm so sure Claire and I are going to go and have a dance while we wait."

"Ok Helen and I will join you as soon as I make the call, but at least take some pain killers and wrap your hand before you go down. Claire you will find the first aid kit in the bathroom over there."

The girls ended up dancing the night away the sun was coming up when they walked back to the car.
