I used to write bits about Helen&Nikki, but they never really made it very far.
This time, I've decided to write a short piece - Just some odd musings from Helen now Nikki is free.
Rated PG
Disclaimer: I don't own Nikki or Helen (Damnit!), they're both Shed's characters.
Life Means Life
Freedom.
Something you never thought you’d see, did you?
Your life was those grubby green walls, those small, seemingly ecological flower beds.
The four walls of your cell.
And of course, the sheltered, intimate space of the Potting Shed.
You now have your own space. Soft, comforting, pastel shades of a living room. Smooth work tops of a kitchen. A garden that expands further than you would imagine for a residence of the this diminutive size; a jungle, you commented.
A project you couldn’t wait to delve into.
After you’d settled in the house, of course.
This is a big change for you? Isn’t it?
I hope to think that none of the walls are grubby. That food won’t taste as bad as it looked back ‘there’. That when sorted, you’ll have a lack of restrictions in the garden.
Plenty of lee-way in whatever you do. No lock up, no hassle when association is over…
Unless you’re wanted, in the sheltered, intimate space of the bedroom.
A favourite of yours, isn’t it?
Whether it be first thing in the morning, or last thing at night. Or even midday.
When you just want to hold me. Feel close to me.
When I just want to be alone with you. Look into your eyes.
No distractions for a change.
For me, the bedroom reminds me of so many other places.
Maybe it’s wrong for me to think of our most cherished place in the household as relating to parts of Larkhall.
But up until now, times there were the best moments in my life.
Inside, your favourite place was for certain the garden. That, and the library.
And in both you were so creative.
Flowers, that always bloomed magnificently. Writing that always penetrated your soul.
And now, really, it is no different.
Light kisses and actions, that always bloom magnificently.
Words and looks, guaranteed to penetrate my very soul.
Really, Nikki, this isn’t such a big change after all.
Except now you’re free. Your sentence was cut short.
Here though, life means life.
And I intend to enjoy every moment of your freedom with you.
