Title: Neighbours
Description: lesbian couple

BGEp1,2&3 - December 27, 2006 05:58 AM (GMT)
According to all the magazines that run sneek peeks of shows for the next season. There is to be a relationship between the characters of Rosie (Natalie Seleeba) and Pepper (Nicky Whelan).

And if you go by what I have read it is to be a relationship.

Only time will tell how long it last. As every other show on Australian television that has aired a lesbian relationship ends up being aired after midnight or they stop airing it all together. eg BG only aired for one season on channel 7.

I cant stand this show. But I will be interested to see if it accepted and it has any influence on the tv executives. Seeing neighbours is such a popular show.

interesting, i hadn't heard that but i do watch the show, when i'm home.

i thought rosie and frasier would end up together, which would be incredibly predictable, but then again it is a soap opera!
although now i think about it, pepper's mum has just come out to her family so maybe that will cause pepper think long and hard about her own sexuality and it progresses from there.
who knows what will happen, i'm just glad lesbian storylines are getting more prime-time airtime.

Lis - February 28, 2007 08:18 AM (GMT)
this actually might be happening. well, they've kissed, but that's all it could be knowing the track record of lesbian storylines in this show.

it happened in last night's episode, which i missed, damn.

i got this from the official neighbours site...

i'll be watching with interest but i'll be mighty pissed if this goes the same way the other stories went.....being NOWHERE!

There is a really small interview with different neighbours cast members in this weeks tv week.

They asked Pepper (Nicky Whelan), who she wants her character to have a relationship with this season and she answered 'Rosie'.

But like you said lis 'time will tell'.

Lis - February 28, 2007 11:47 AM (GMT)
well i'm glad she said 'rosie', clearly she's got the right view that these sort of storylines should be airing more often and with more credibility. it would be a nice change for the actress as well, especially in that non-challenging acting environment.

there might be hope for this afterall.......but yes time will tell :)

I'm guessing we're behind you guys with Neighbours? I do watch it occasionally.

gotta love youtube......the clip of the kiss can be found here:

after the first kiss i felt ripped off, but thankfully it gets better. i really hope this story doesn't die before it's even left the ground.

hi there. i know i'm a bit off topic, but it looks like at least two of you are aussies. i don't know if you guys ever go to ralst.com, but she has a lot of fanfic and shows clips, etc.
anyway, i saw a lovely clip from what i think was an aussie short film called something like two girls and a baby. it was about a lesbian couple who were having a baby and the one who was pregnant was worried about what would happen and her partner was reassuring her. i found the scene very touching. i was wondering if any of you had seen it.
by the way girls, thanks for the welcome!

BGEp1,2&3 - March 3, 2007 01:01 AM (GMT)
Yeh Lis and myself are both Aussies.

That movie is Australian. And it is call 'two girls and a baby'. It stars Claudia Karvan.

She also stars in a TV show called 'The secret life of us'. Which I know is shown in several other countries.

I don't have this movie, but I can ask around and see if I can get a hold of it.

BGEp1,2&3 - March 3, 2007 01:45 AM (GMT)
I rang around some friends. It will be near impossible to get this movie. Its actually a short film, 24min long. But if I come across it I will let you know.

aj57 - March 3, 2007 03:06 AM (GMT)
thanks for looking into it for me. i don't know if you've seen it yourself, but it was just the way the two actresses related to each other in that scene that i found so realistic and heartwarming. by the way, what time is it in oz?

BGEp1,2&3 - March 3, 2007 05:26 AM (GMT)
It is currently 3.27PM on Saturday the 3rd

Thats in Brisbane Queensland. Sydney is one hour ahead of us.

Lis - March 3, 2007 10:36 AM (GMT)
9.35pm here in Sydney now.....we're currently on daylight savings time, queensland doesn't observe it, hence the time difference in the same longtitude

bloody hot here today, tomorrow will probably be the same but a cool change on the way come tuesday. can't wait! i'm well over this heat and humidity, bring on winter! liza what's it been like up there?

never heard of that short movie, i tried looking for it on the web but had no luck. claudia karvan is a brilliant actress though.

BGEp1,2&3 - March 3, 2007 11:31 AM (GMT)
Try here Lis.

I went to the site they claim has a copy of this short film that can be downloaded but I couldn't find it.

She also made another lesbian short film called 'Touch me'.

Found this screen cap.

It was hot here today Lis 30C. I agree hurry up winter.

Lis - March 3, 2007 11:56 AM (GMT)
i tried that site......couldn't find it either. this is proving to be tough.

aj57 - March 3, 2007 06:01 PM (GMT)
hi guys. i went to the website that you mentioned and there were quite a few screen caps from film. like you, i went to atomfilms site and couldn't find it there either. thanks for your efforts. i can't believe you guys are complaining about your weather and can't wait til winter. as you know, it's winter here. we had a fairly large snowstorm a couple of days ago, with freezing rain in some parts. current temperature at 12:58 p.m. on sat is 1 degree, which isn't actually too bad. we do get fairly decent summers though, so can't complain. do you guys ever get snow where you live?

BGEp1,2&3 - March 3, 2007 11:31 PM (GMT)
I dont' get snow where I live in Queensland, but about 3 hrs away in a place called Stanthorpe it sometimes snows, maybe once every 2 yrs.

And my winters rarely get below 10C. An average winters day for me is usually about 17C. That's why I want it to hurry up.

Lis - March 4, 2007 01:20 AM (GMT)
yeah winter in sydney is really nice, not cold at all by your standards aj. after a very hot and humid february a lot of aussies are ready for cooler weather. the mountainous regions in australia (NSW/VIC) get a bit of snow. i've been down once to snowboard and would love to go again. that was the one and only time i've seen snow, i grew up going on beach holidays, not snow holidays :)

ok neighbours update.....

tonight pepper asks rosie to rub some tanning lotion on her back, all in complete innocence and seems to have forgotten all about their kiss. rosie makes up some lame excuse about being allergic to coconut oil but pepper doesn't buy it. she rubs the oil on pepper's back. fraser sees this happen and thinks it just another sign of their blossoming relationship. rosie and pepper soon find out that a lot of people in ramsey street think they're a couple after ringo (ok what's with the names on this show?!) saw them kiss the other night. pepper wants to set everyone straight (so to speak), but rosie continues to battle with her feelings, and let's pepper know this, not in so many words but rather through her hesitation.

i can't see this relationship going anywhere. there's no chemistry there and won't ever be if pepper continues to dismiss the kiss. oo that rhymes. lol ;) i'd put money on this thing never leaving the ground.....i'd still like to be pleasantly surprised though.

aj57 - March 6, 2007 11:29 PM (GMT)
just thought i'd let you know it's -13 degrees at 6:29 p.m. brrrrr cold even for us!

BGEp1,2&3 - March 29, 2007 01:24 PM (GMT)
I found two girls and a baby clips on youtube.

at least i can say i have seen it now.

susie4uk2007 - June 23, 2007 01:42 PM (GMT)

Susie

Lis - June 24, 2007 03:23 AM (GMT)
whoops i forgot to update this thread.

yeah nothing happened beyond that kiss. typical neighbours style, start something then wimp out. pathetic.

Lesli - July 14, 2007 03:48 PM (GMT)
A friend and I got all excited that Rosie and Pepper could get together, but alas.. T'was not to be! Rosie and Frazer are dead cute together.. When they finally do anyway!

I have to admit I did like Rosie and Pep's little scene in the hopital after Pepper had passed out "I taste strawberries..." "That would be my lipbalm/gloss"

I just loved Pepper's "Rosie!" They're dead cute
