Video demonstration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Myb-OOXgmA

>>>Download: http://www.4shared.com/rar/0nQtV0RD/boutiq..._acessible.html

- How to install:
1.put the ".exe" file into (...)\PC Games - Resident Evil 3\
2.put the ".rdt" files into (...)\PC Games - Resident Evil 3\DATA_E\RDT\
3.start the game by executing the new "ResidentEvil3-mod.exe" file. (or you can substitute the original exe with this one)

*in order to the mod to work correctly you have to choose Jill's normal clothing at the beginning of game.

Enjoy! =)

I obtained the avatar at a screenshot from gamefaqs, the image looked quite blurry and pale, I used photoshop to readjust the colors.

I am thinking to post this alternative avatar with new title screens too! ;)

What do you think?

Why didn't you just supply a game save? I advise against butchering the exe even a trainer would of been better imo.

Because if I supply a game save if somebody want to start a new game, to obtain the boutique key he need to hack savegame again to add that item - and it is not a very easy task..

I'm not "butchering" the exe, what I have done is just replaced the values of starting itens with another..(in this case, the manual with boutique key)

kevstah2004 - February 20, 2011 09:35 PM (GMT)
All you needed to do was make a trainer to change one of the inventory slots item number to boutique key on/off, the off option blanking it 00 so you can reuse the slot at anytime for somethiing else. The key can be disregarded after opening the room anyway.

I understand what do you mean, but I am completely noob in creating trainers.. X_X

Anyways the key will work as a normal item, it can be moved, and disappears after one use.

kevstah2004 - February 21, 2011 03:37 AM (GMT)
It's wrong imo to tamper with the exe "leave it alone guys" in this case you got rid of the manual which some people may still want.
If you need to edit the exe do it externally with a trainer whilst it's running in memory so your not effecting any files.
I'll glady make any trainer for guys if given the exe offsets and values :P

I have posted a new topic saying about how I modified the exe file: http://z4.invisionfree.com/Resident_Evil_1...p?showtopic=973

It will be awesome, if somebody can make a trainer.

You may post the trainer together with my mod for guys who don't want to use edited exe. ;)

I think the color goes stupid if the edited image has very different in comparison to original one.

You know that tim image has a color index, and it only supports 256 different colors, and if, the color from edited image isn't contained in the original one, the photoshop pick up the closest one contained in the index of the original image, corel paint should do the same.

If desired color is very different, you can add new colors to the index (if it is not full)..

kevstah2004 - February 21, 2011 02:01 PM (GMT)
Convert the bmp to 256 colours aka 8pp before converting them to tim with timviewer, timviewer screws up the quality of the images if converted from 24bpp or 16bpp.
I personally recommend ABitmapEditor by Lemke Innovations for your converting your images to 8bpp :) I wish it did 16bpp too.

I have to admit, I'm with residentevilartist on this one. If you do it carefully (no I won't promote my FAQ the third time this day or so) you can change some really neat stuff plus I find it easier to have one exe being kind of a standalone mod (for example one exe for starting with a different Jill inventory right from the beginning) and beside that there are other executables ready to get used for each seperate occasion. Another advantage is that you can easily edit your personal exe if the one provided doesn't work for some reason (other addresses most obviously), IF there's some kind of documentation what had been changed; if you have a trainer not campatible with your game it's much more difficult to change that.
Although I do realise that automated processes and gathering info right from the memory has its obvious advantages, too. I just think that hex-editing is suitable for everyone to fit each individual need, if some things won't work out with the delivered product (in that case ResidentEvil3.exe), whereas trainers are one or more steps higher regarding knowledge game structure wise.

Hm, sorry for having a hard time understanding what I mean, I'm a little under the weather these days. :unsure:

Also, thanks for offering to make trainers for the community!

kevstah2004 - February 22, 2011 12:34 PM (GMT)
Any paticular keyboard keys you want the
on / off mapped to? don't wanna use something already used by the game as default.
If you supply me we a md5 or crc32 sum of your unmodified exe's, i'll keep a list for all versions and make one for each version new stuff then can be constantly added to the trainer later on if wanted.

I was planning to upload it later with other mod together, so it wont be so hard task to install the mods separated one by one..

But if you dont want to wait more, here is:

http://www.4shared.com/file/Fjlgy8H-/incomplete_mod.html

The installation manual is contained in the archive. hope you enjoy! =)

I am planning relase a more complete version of this mod later - with new title screen and introduction screens.

Sorry Kevstah, I dont understand what do you mean.. What is md5 and crc32?

Do you want the original(unmodified) exe?

It's a checksum / hash number generated by scanning any file on your comp.

http://www.md5summer.org/download.html

Winrar will also give you the CRC32 if you zip a file to .rar, open the .rar archive and it'll tell you the crc32 number on the top right.

How i can extract and repack RE3 Rofs files??

if is impossible to repack, How i can config bio3.ini to make this mode work?
unfortunately don't work for me, I use Biohazard 3 Sourcenext version.

kevstah2004 - March 9, 2011 01:01 AM (GMT)
Biofat includes pmdata's extractor, under the extra's tab.
Then edit your bio3.ini as follows, placing the extracted data into those folders in the root

Movie=ZMOVIE
Rofs1=DATA\DOOR
Rofs2=DATA_AU\ETC2
Rofs3=DATA\ETC
Rofs4=DATA_U\ETC2
Rofs5=DATA\PLD
Rofs6=DATA_A\PLD

Rofs11=ROOM\RBJ
Rofs12=DATA_AJ\RDT

Has downloaded a mod, has made all that was required:
1.put the ".exe" file into (...)\PC Games - Resident Evil 3\
2.put the ".rdt" files into (...)\PC Games - Resident Evil 3\DATA_E\RDT\
3.start the game by executing the new "ResidentEvil3-mod.exe" file. (or you can substitute the original exe with this one)

I can't get to a boutique all the same.

I dont know, do you have to modify the rdt? But even if you entered on the room its not possible for you to change clothes(since the program need you to unlock them in ps - but in pc version is not possible to unlock them..)

But anyways, is good to know what idea you have! =]
