QUOTE (Jagex)
This chapter of the quest takes our hero deep under the mountains of Arandar to put a stop to the evil plans of the mourners.
If our hero is to succeed, they must solve one of the most complicated puzzles in all of Gielinor.

Requirements: You must have completed Mourning's End Part I. High agility is an advantage. The ability to defend against lvl 73 Shadows.

Useful Skills: lvl 43 Prayer and lvl 51 magic

Items: Full Mourners Set, rope, chisel and the 50 items for Thorgel (see below).

Optional: Lletya Teleport Crystal, Ardougne Teleport runes and agility potions.

Starting Out

To start speak to Arianwyn in Lletya and tell her about what the mourners are up to. She will tell you to prevent the Mourners from reaching the Temple of Light. Go back to the Mourner HQ in West Ardougne and talk to the Head Mourner. Make sure you have your Mourner clothes on! He will tell you that a digging team has gone missing and give you a key to the cavern. You must now enter the cave and seach for them. Head west past the lvl 182 Dark Beasts and then follow the south passage. You need lvl 90 slayer to kill the Dark Beasts and they drop Death Talismans! To the north you will find a new rune rock by the way. Go on until you see a cutscene. There will be some dead mourners and slaves lying around a stone structure. You may be attacked by a lvl 73 shadow so quickly leave.
Now report back to Arianwyn in Lletya and tell her about what you have seen. She will tell you that you have to restore some kind of protection mechanism to prevent the mourners from reaching the temple and to remove the shadows. She also wants you to take her a piece of the protection crystal to her, she says it will be darkened. Go back to the dead Mourners and search the first dead Guard that is propped against the wall to get his journal and a colour wheel.(Posted Image) You can read the journal if you want some information on what's going on. Enter the Temple of Light. There seems to be a puzzle to solve, and it's full of the Shadows. There are also some agility obstacles in the wall.

Light Maze Tips and Tricks

The Shadows only have 15 hp, but they are rather strog and can easily hit 13s.

There are only two places where you are safe from the Shadows: The place where the leaver is directly above the entrance and the middle of the second floor (go there by descending one of the staircases in the center of the third floor).

To get to the second floor go up the stairs right at the entrance.

To get to the third floor go up the ladder at the south of the secod floor.

To got to the small north bit of the third floor climb up the ladder at the north of the second floor.

To get to the large north bit of the third floor go down the stairs in the middle of it and up the other side. The Darkened Crystal is also here.

Now find your way to the top floor and use your chisel on the crystal to get a piece of it.(Posted Image)
It is exactly two floors above the entrance.
(Posted Image)

Head back to Lletya by teleporting or just plain ol' walking and talk to Arianwyn. She will summon Eluned to enchant the crystal piece. Eluned will appear. Use the crystal piece on her for her to fix it. You will now get a Newly Made Crystal.(Posted Image)
Talk to Arianwyn again. She will tell you to put the crystal on an altar at the end of the temple.
Now return to the temple, bring your key, colour wheel, armour, rope, food and agility potions if you want. Once you are in the cavern you can put on your armour. Now go up the stairs right at the entrance of the temple and go to the east wall.

The First Door

You should see a red bit that looks like a door on your minimap. Now pull the lever and retrieve the yellow crystal and the four mirrors from that place. Now set one of the mirrors in the altar thing near you. Now right-click on it and search it, then select the option "rotate". Rotate the mirror until the beam of light points north. Go to the next altar, set a mirror in it and rotate it to make the beam look west. Follow the beam, set the mirror in it and rotate it to the south. Now at the next altar, instead of setting a mirror in it, insert your yellow crystal. Now the beam of light will turn yellow.

(Posted Image)

Go south to the next altar. Wait a moment and look east. You will see a blue light door. Now look at your colour wheel. As you see blue is the opposite to yellow, together they make white light, and the light doors have to be white! Now insert your mirror and rotate it to the east. Climb along the hand holds, you may fail and take damage. If you don't manage repeatedly it drink some agility potion and try again. Now enter the door and take the cyan crystal from the chest.

The Second Door

Head back to the leaver and pull it, to reset the light beams. Take the items and make the light go north and west, then put either the yellow or the cyan crystal in. Turn the next one to the north, then the next to the east and insert your remaining crystal to open the door.

The Third Door

Pull the leaver to reset the maze, and take the items. Now turn the beam to the north and then to the west, using the mirrors as usual. Leave the next one empty and turn the next ones to the north and the east. In the next one you must rotate the mirror until you beam goes upwards. Go upstairs and turn the beam to the west ( if you look past the wall you will see the beam turn magenta). Work your way to the north-west corner of this floor, and turn the beam to the south. At the next altar you must insert your yellow crystal, making the beam turn red. At the next one you must make the beam go down (this is when you can't see it). Now go downstairs and go to the south side of the floor. Climb over the low wall and use your rope on the rock to climb down, the rope will stay for future use. Once down do through the door and get a blue crystal from the chest.

The Fourth Door

Pull the leaver. Deflect the beam to the north, then to the west, and add the blue crystal to the pillar. Rotate the next ones to the north, east, downwards (go downstairs) and to the west. Now enter the room. There will already be a mirror fused into the pillar. Now be careful: You must rotate this one so that a beam coming from above will be deflected against the door you just came in!

The Fifth Door

Don't pull the leaver! Go back to it and make the mirrors look the folowing way (most of them will already). The first will be ok, to the north. Then to the west. Remove the blue crystal from the pillar and add your cyan one. The next directions must be: North, east, up, west (go to the north-east corner of this floor) and down. Now go back to door 4. If the door is closed it means that you have rotated the mirror in the end of step 4 in the wrong direction. Enter the room, rotate the beam to the south and leave the room by that way. Open the next chest to get a Fractured Crystal.

The Sixth Door

Pull the leaver to reset. Now direct the beam to north, west, south and add the yellow crystal. Now to the east and climb through the handholds (aren't they awful). Enter the room and insert the blue crystal into the pillar. Now remove everything except the blue crystal (don't use the leaver!) and make the light go this way: North, west, up (go upstairs), south and now insert the fractured crystal. The light will split now. Now go south and make the light go east and down. Go back to the fractured crystal and follow the west beam. Make it go down. Now go down to the ground floor and you will see that the beam has turned green. Make it go south and east, now enter the door. A beam of blue light should come from above, if not you must have done the bit with the south beam or the blue crystal wrong. Make the blue beam go through the other door, enter it and take the new fractured crystal from the chest.

The Seventh Door

Go back to the leaver and pull it. Take the items and mirror the light to the north and down. Go downstairs, make the light go to the west and add this fractured crystal: (Posted Image).
Now follow the north fraction. Make it go up. Now go upstairs and add the yellow crystal. Go up an other floor and make the beam go west. Now head to the north-west corner of this floor and deflect the light to the south. Follow it and mirror it to the east.
Go back to your fractioned crystal on the grownd floor. Go south and add your other fractioned crystal.(Posted Image) Follow the west beam and mirror it upwards. It will now go through the green crystal from earlier on. Now go up two floors and mirror the green light to the west.
Go back to the second fractured crystal. Follow the east beam and deflect it upwards. Go up two floors again and mirror it to the west, north and west. Follow the light and add the blue crystal to the next pillar. That's it! Now you can go down the stairs in the middle of the top floor, down again and pass through the ex-cyan door.

(Posted Image)

You see the pillar with the red light in the pic? Now rotate the mirror so that the beam
hits the black door. Now enter it and a dwarf will appear. Remember Klank and his brothers in the Underground Pass Quest? He knows them and will make you an offer..

(Posted Image)

That's the death altar in the pic by the way. He will give you a lovely shopping list of 50 items that he wants for his death talisman. Now you see the entrance behind him? Don't enter it unless you want to come through the underground pass the next time you want to go to him. It will come out at the dwarf camp down the Underground Pass. Now go back through the Black door and rotate the red light so that you can pass the cyan door again and leave the Temple of Light. Now it's time to get his items. Here's the list:

Archery ticket, crumbling tome, dusty key, rope, spade, iron pickaxe, iron axe, knife, plank, pie dish, potatoes (10), pot of flour, bucket of milk, ball of woll, oak logs, chisel, shears, needle, thread, cooked meat, iron nails, unicorn horn dust, bronze bar, whiteberries, hammer, potato cactus, skull, babydragon bones, facemask, rune essence, lobster pot, fishing rod, tinderbox, lockpick, bronze medium helm, white apron, jug of wine, kebab, leather boots, swamp paste, redberries, cheese, vial of water, flax, gold ring, egg, leather gloves, cake tin, necklace mould and a rotten tomato.

Some of you may not know how to get the following things:

Crumbling tome: Go to the barrows east of Mort'ton and get it from the ruined house just north of the barrows.

Potatoes (10): Fill a sack with 10 potatoes.

Dusty key: Go to the Black Knight place in Taverly Dungeon, kill the jailer and use his key to free the prisoner. He will give you the Dusty key. Can also be bought in the Legends Guild.

Whiteberries: Respawn on the Red Dragon isle in the wilderness or in some places is Isafdar. Can also be farmed and traded.

Skull: Found at the Bone Yard in the Wilderness.

Bringing the Items

Now get the items and bring them back to the dwarf, you will have to do it in two loads. The second time bring your newly mage crystal and your Lletya tele crystal. Bring the rest to him and he'll give you a lovely Death Talisman. (Posted Image)It is also possible to get a new list from him if you wan't an other talisman (they are untradable by the way).
Use the Talsiman with the ruins and enter..

(Posted Image)

Use your newly made crystal with the altar and it will start to glow. Now go to the Darkened Crystal and use the crystal with it..

(Posted Image)

Victory! The Protection Machanism is restored!
Now teleport to Lletya and tell Arianwyn about it. Congratulations, Quest complete!

I'll try to get more pics, but I didn't really think that a pic of every step is necesarry, as once you are in the temple you will get to understand the beam system.
