Me and Ninja are going to London for a couple of days on Sunday. We are staying in Belgravia. Does anyone know of anywhere or anything we really ought to do/see, apart from the usual sightseeing?

Oh yes, is anyone local enough to meet for a beer or two? :D

Camden is pretty good if ya like strollin around the market stalls on the look out for clothing/music stuff. Got some pretty good eating places there too, in and around the shops n market areas.
Covent Garden is ok.The London Transport Museum is there.
My wife likes looking around the Boutiques n stuff. Wasnt too keen on it myself, especially when i went in the Fred Perry shop for a wanda and was covertly followed around the shop by a store detective. Perhaps they thought i wasnt their usual kind of clientel for some reason :dunno:

If going too any of the tourist attractions then my advice is get there fecking very early or you will spend a few hrs standing in a queue :(

gs69 - October 23, 2009 12:44 PM (GMT)
me and chelski went doen the thames in a boat, and that was nice, we caught it at the london eye it took us to london bridge.
go to china town, the restaraunts are fab, and not to expensive.
go on a rickshaw, now that was fun :P
dont go on the tourist buses, there is a bus that takes you round to see the sites, and i think you can get off anytime, i will ask chelski what number it is :dunno:
there is a duck ride, which it goes into the thames, we didnt have time to do that one tho, make sure you have a raincoat on :whistle
i dont think we be meeting you hun, as lots going on here just now, but you will want to go back soon there as there is lots to do.
may speak to you b4 then, but if not have a fab time

:D :D :D

Camden Market & Lock is or used to be pretty good , used to spend many a weekend down there, you never know what you'll find and some pretty decent pubs & places to eat.
Comedy club around there too which is worth a visit depending who's on.

Also Portobello Road although it can get busy is worth a wander around, loads of stalls and interesting shops ranging from cheap & cheerful, crafts, antiques, and bizarre stuff too.

Also Covent Garden and surrounding area are good if weather is ok , as again lots to look at and watch, used to always pop into the Punch & Judy pub for a pint or two !
From here its not too far to walk to Trafalgar Square, I think the podium thingy is still on where theres a different person on the podium on the hour every hour, so if you like weirdo watching it could be an entertaining diversion.

Soho is worth a scoot round, Carnaby Street used to be a right dive when I lived down there full of shit & tat, with only decent things being Shelly's shoes and Sherry's , but I think they've improved it in recent years.

Harrods is over rated, much prefer Selfridges, especially their food hall...Yum!

Regents Park & London Zoo is also a good way to spend a few hours and then a shortish walk to Camden from there.

Just get yourself an all day ticket that covers zone 1 & 2 and then just hop on & off the tubes & buses wherever you feel like.

Boat trips are good idea as Sharon mentioned too.

Natural History & Science Museum is a cracking place to go as already mentioned, I could spend hours around there ....

Depends just what exactly you feel like doing as theres something for every one ......

Have a cracking weekend whatever you do , just go with the flow and enjoy yourselves xx

Cheers all, there's come good un's in there.

Shazza, definitely not the "Duck" - I've seen them :o :D

Shelly, cheap and cheerful it may well be hun - Ninja wants us to take a flask! He refuses to pay "them fuckin prices" for a coffee. We can stay in a top notch gaff, but have to starve for three days

I think he even muttered something about taking the satnav :whistle :D
