Title: Music When Riding?
joda - October 28, 2009 10:10 AM (GMT)
whats everyone's views on lisining to a walkman [keep it old school!] when riding both about town and long distance?
paul-ebsc - October 28, 2009 10:13 AM (GMT)

tatt-steve - October 28, 2009 10:52 AM (GMT)

elgarra - October 28, 2009 10:55 AM (GMT)
Anything at all..........As long as i can't hear the Missus telling me to, "lick here, suck here, higher, lower" etc. Bossy cow.
Oh wait, y'mean on a scooter?..................nothing.
tuts - October 28, 2009 11:10 AM (GMT)
I dont anymore.
Coming back from a a rally earlier this year I had the Prodigy on the ear phones, became a bit engrossed, rode to fast, got distracted and had a near miss !
dread - October 28, 2009 11:19 AM (GMT)
nope from me, mind you like the idea of sat nav. ;)
Racer_6ixx - October 28, 2009 11:49 AM (GMT)
dont do that anymore after running up the arse of a bus a few years back.
PX9 - October 28, 2009 11:56 AM (GMT)
Never do it, I will sometimes sing to myself, usually a Thomas the tank Engine song that is stuck in my mind cos of my little girl. :D
OzOAP - October 28, 2009 12:28 PM (GMT)
Always listen to me Ipod, apart from when on the Armandos, coz I cant hear it then. :music
Dont care how dangerous people think it is....life is dangerous
joda - October 28, 2009 02:16 PM (GMT)
cheers,
i have done it a few times and did notice a distraction just wondered what you all thought :music
MALICE - October 28, 2009 02:20 PM (GMT)
Used to listen to Ipod but now I listen to me lovely singing voice.....usually twinkle twinkle little star or 25 miles to go (edwin starr) but add my own milege then countdown as I get closer. Inbetween singing I shout abuse at idiots on the road cutting me up.
ric - October 28, 2009 02:24 PM (GMT)
listen to me i-pod every day riding to work. the wind noise is horrendous on me gts 250 (yes i know there gay) i didnt think they were illeagle to wear (i used to have a deaf student who rode a twist and go to college)
exsoulagent - October 28, 2009 02:25 PM (GMT)
Prefer the sound of a stroker screaming it's nuts off :music
apolly666 - October 28, 2009 06:47 PM (GMT)
i love music and i love riding so being able to enjoy both at once is tremend!
westwing - October 28, 2009 07:16 PM (GMT)
I like singing while riding. It's one of the few places I don't get told to shut up as I may be tone deaf. Endless loops of crap songs can while away the miles
skolar - October 28, 2009 08:34 PM (GMT)
i find my in head ipod the best and to change tracks you just think of a different song
Juan Kerr - October 28, 2009 08:41 PM (GMT)
Richard Cheese and Lounge against the Machine or Hayseed Dixie. On the odd occasion Paul Ankora, think that's how you spell it anyway.
Nik - October 28, 2009 09:03 PM (GMT)
Nothing illegal about it, but not for me. Done it a couple of times, but too distracting.
goodvibes - October 28, 2009 09:22 PM (GMT)
Wouldn't dream of it to be honest. It's bad enough keeping things in check as it is and I would personally get too distracted. Ninja was a bugger for it, but doesn't do it any more. :teach :D
t5bitza69 - October 28, 2009 09:51 PM (GMT)
no thanx .. id rather hear me scoot n the traffic around me... plus i have shit concentration id probably fall over trying to dance :D

justin - October 28, 2009 09:56 PM (GMT)
Cant ride n listen to music. Its too distracting. A one man wreckin pit on a scoot doesnt really work :D
In the car is different, cant drive without some tunes
dunf - October 29, 2009 02:34 AM (GMT)
i think on the scoot you need to hear the thing. Someone said you're better listening to the tone of the motor for anything untoward happening. Gotta say thats absolutely bang on. Plus, as much as I like my music, none are as good as a tuned motor with big carb n expansion all going full chat! bring on the noise!
Plus for anyone considering it - my mate Pete only had one 'off' in fifteen years or so, then about five in the space of 18 months after he started listening to his ipod on the move. Coincidence? hhmmm.
not for me m'afraid. dont even wear ear plugs.
tomdavid1988 - October 29, 2009 09:59 AM (GMT)
Gave up as the ear pieces always fall out .......

yeh , fuck it..
less distracting than letting my warped mind wonder off on its own into more disturbing territory
Cindy - October 29, 2009 10:17 AM (GMT)
On the dragster especially on long distance, absolutely. Get bored with the monoton noise of the scooter
On the TS1, short or long distance its a no, I want to be able to hear the engine/exhaust as when it changes, I know something is wrong :)
Disco Dave - October 29, 2009 10:35 AM (GMT)
i have when i have the gps as it also has an mp3 player on it but then if it's illegal why are they allowed to have motorcycle gps and mp3 ?
Nik - October 29, 2009 09:46 PM (GMT)
It's not illegal Dave, never has been either - another urban myth. You could get done for not being in full control of the vehicle, but thats only if you start dancing...
Personally I'd have them removed from cars and lorries too, they should be concentrating on the driving, not on Radio Two.
(I've an iPod broadcaster in my car though!)
rupert - October 29, 2009 09:56 PM (GMT)
I like to get my knee down. Can't imagine trying to do that with tunes on. :barking
jedi - October 29, 2009 10:17 PM (GMT)
the biggest problem is sitting at traffic lights singing (badly) at the top of your lungs and wondering why everyones looking at u like your simple. note 2 self crash helmet soundproof not
skolar - October 29, 2009 10:20 PM (GMT)
i get looked at like im simple coz i am simple
EURO - October 31, 2009 07:34 AM (GMT)
i listen to tunes all the time ....but only wear the ear piece in the left ear so i can still hear the exhaust on the right ;)
