The norway newspaper aftenposten reported on June 9th the impact of a meteroid which hit an unoccupied terrain with a force comparable to the hiroshima bomb.

Really disturbing but on the other hand nothing new. It is common knowledge that astronomers can't locate such small objects of only 6 meters as this meteorite, let alone intercepting them. Imagine what would have happened had this thing hit a town or city. What I don't understand is this: why the hell wasn't this covered by big news channels worldwide? I mean this almost makes it look like some local newspaper hoax. I am beginning to doubt if this is real.

Maybe they want to keep it a secret.

I watched a PBS special on asteroids once, a few years ago, and they claimed only 3% of the sky is being watched. Even if something were coming that we could stop, we'd never see it coming if it's in the other 97% of the unwatched sky.

That is scary.
