Title: Spider Man 3
Description: Danny Elfman?

CDUMAS - April 14, 2007 01:42 AM (GMT)
Where is Danny Elfman for Spider Man 3? Why is it Chris Young? He is a great composer but what about Elfman?

BigMacGyver - April 14, 2007 09:33 AM (GMT)
Elfman and raimi didn't get along very well during the scoring of spiderman 2, so chris young and debney were brought in to rescore sections of elfman's material. Raimi liked what young did and elfman was pissed, so young is back for part 3 and elfman is not. Ironically, history seems to repeat itself because now the studio stepped in and had Elfman's orchestrator steve bartek rescore sections of young's work.

WOW! Thanks so much for the info. Chris Young is great but i'm sorry for a comic book film such as this you simply can't beat elfman. I hope i don't hear a change in style.

So? It's new territory for him. Let him try. The third one seems darker than the second on the trailer. It's like Spiderman has to learn who he really is and what his dark side is. And Young is very good in writing dark music.

Hey I saw the film yesterday, Chris Young's music was very similar to Elfman's. It was a great film and all the loose ends seems to be tied now.

Where have you been? He's been attached to do the score for more than two years now (right?).

And I'm just guessing, but I don't think he'll be back for the 4th film. Probably go to crappy John Ottman, or lucky Deborah Lurie.

Nowhere. I knew he was going to do the film. I just said what I thought of it. ;)

Well, why not, if Raimi is happy about him?
However I think Raimi and Elfman should talk things over.
To my opinion I don't think there'll be a fourth one.
I've read something on allmovie about Parker's professor of the university becoming The Lizzard in the comics. Maybe they can do something with that to fill in the 4th. Actually everybody can still be in it: Peter, Mary Jane, Aunt May, Jonah and the rest of The Bugle, Bruce Campbell in another amazing cameo role, even those Russians from Peter flat, accept Harry.

What the composer is concerned, I think he should go with Joseph Lo Duca.

Even Chris himself hat a little appearance...

Elfman is the man! I don't care who you get to match his sound he can not be beat at this genre.
