Title: The Dark Knight
ESB - December 13, 2007 10:46 AM (GMT)
The IMAX version of "I Am Legend" features a 7 minute preview of "The Dark Knight" and it seems to be promising. Also about the music. This is what the reviewer had to say about the music:
"Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard's awesome Batman theme was playing and this sweeping camera shot of Batman standing on the edge of a building came up and I almost screamed out loud with excitement."

Previews are always attractive in all perspectives. Will The Dark Knight break Hollywood's tradition of developing weak and crappy sequels? Well, that's what I'm eager to see. I'm sure James and Hans will deliver. It's the picture that I'm talking about.

A theme like that can only be J.N.H. at work.

Ah, it's just a cue from Batman Begins. Still, very effective. The rest of the music was different than Begins. It didn't sound like it was from the same sonic palette as Begins, but it was very fitting for the scene! I thought the whole thing was amazing. It was shot with IMAX cameras, and looks absolutely brilliant! My heart was beating like a race horse for all 6 minutes! Go out to an IMAX theater if you can and check it out. Especially if you were a fan of Batman Begins!

I can wait for the score to come out. It is already in pre-order at online cd-shops.
However, I don't know which one to choose.
Does anybody has any news as to what will be in the limited edition score that will be released 2 days before the regular release ?
So far I have heard that the score content will be the same but the packaging will be different. But it's still a rumour....
Also I've heard on the interview that Warner Bros. wanted to release a 5.1 surround sound Blue-Ray Disc of the score when the movie will come out. :omg:
If anybody has a piece of update on this, I will greatly appreciate :D :yahoo:
Thanks in advance!

Not to dampen this, but I've heard most of the score now, and while the JNH material (all 3 cues of it as I can hear) is reasonably good, and the mournful string theme from Batman Begins makes a reappearance, Zimmer's input for me is 90% forgettable. I never had very high expectations for this score though, as I didn't much like BB.

I love the score, though I'm not quite sure who did which parts, to be honest, and I apologize for that.
I'm curious though about a cue/motive that I noticed cleaning showings of this at a theater that I work at. Whenever something is about to happen regarding the Joker or he's mentioned in some way, there's a single unwavering "D" note that starts to bend in pitch slightly against the held "D." It then crescendos to the next part of the movie/music. At the very end of the credits, this cue comes back (again, a "D"), and it wavers and crescendos and then finally resolves on a bass "C". The final 2 pitches of the credits are D-C.
Is this coincidence or is it a purposeful DC Comics tribute or something?
