There was a trailer for the polar express and it had this epic music in it. I've had this music stuck in my head forever. It almost sounds like it was written exculsively for the trailer, but I hope its not so I can get it somewhere. Here is the link to this trailer, where is this from???

Well, the use of music in that particular trailer you have posted is of special interest for silvestri fans because the entire first section comes from Alan's own score for the relatively unknown imax documentary Siegfried & Roy: The Magic Box. This one is actually one of my alltime favourite silvestri scores.
You can hear portions of Siegfried & Roy in this entire passage:
0:24 - 0:54
Unfortunately, the score for this imax film remains officially unreleased. Only two bootlegs exists. However, if you know the bootleg (as i do, i could hum the whole thing in my sleep) you will notice that the music in the trailer differs slightly, partly due to clever editing repeating certain bars of music, but partly because there is music that does not appear on any bootleg of Siegfried & Roy score! Of special interest is the moment from 0:40 to 0:54! This is definitely an alternate version of a siegfried & roy score track, which implies there is much more material from this score beyond what was included on the bootleg.
The music used from 0:55 to 1:23 is from david arnolds score for stargate, which is also highly recommended and a officially released expanded edition can be ordered from varesesarabande.com oder amazon.com (just search these sites for the score and you will find it easily).
The music that follows until the end of the trailer is a mystery though. It's definitely not from stargate or at least it does not seem so even though it sounds damn close. Someone either spent a lot of time to create an original arrangement that matches the stargate score perfectly or these are indeed outtakes from the stargate score that neither appear on CD nor in the movie.
Thanks so much. Thats crazy that the stargate section doesnt match the music near the end of the trailer cause it fits so well. Either way I'm gonna buy that score. Where might you have bootlegged S & R from, if you dont mind.

siegfried & royHowever, keep in mind that this release is not official and also terribly overpriced!
