Description: IMDb discussion forums

As you know you can discuss the movies over at IMDb`s forum and at the Terminator 4`s own discussion forum I started a thread about the potential composer.

So far there was three people who replied and two of them suggested James Newton Howard as their choice of composer to Terminator 4.

So therefore I ask what you think, could James be a suitable composer for Terminator 4?

and by the way when you read my initial post over at IMDb you may wonder why it says roger borjesson instead of my name tobias and that is because I was using my dad`s computer.

Fiedel is retired from film scoring, Beltrami -- let's not go there again, and McCreary? Can someone else get a shot -- McCreary's already gotten his fair share of attention these passed couple years.

Hum. How about unusual choices?

Mark Snow
Richard Marvin
or even Elliot Goldenthal.

I'm guessing it's going to be Ed Shearmur.

I hope not. JNH can do better than mindless action stuff that the Terminator films usually need.

Problem for me is that JNh is close enough to Hans Zimmer, that when the right film comes along, he can go down the rock/techno route. e.g. parts of Blood Diamond, a score I'm not a particularly big fan of. Maybe this reboot will focus more on the John Connor character and less on the action - who knows.

In my opinion, I actually don't see very well James Newton Howard in this movie. His musical style doesn't fit the ambiance of the movie which is dark and electro.

Marco Beltrami is definitely the man for this movie. He has done a good job for the 3rd movie.

Could Terminator 4 be a suitable movie first of all ? <_<
Terminator 3 was a piece of s*i* in my opinion.
But, as it has to have a composer, I would avoid any MV composer at all costs ! Brian Tyler would be a most welcome composer to the franchise.

Agree with you Anakin :) I thinks MV guys just don't belong to that kind of movie.

But Brian Tyler seems a good choice though as he is gently scoring quite a few franchise movies these past years...

This is on IMDB for the film:

QUOTE
Zachary Gibson Smith ....  musician: drums, percussion

I am guessing that as unlikely as it seems, someone is already working on the score and has chosen someone to play on it, rather quickly.

I searched, but could not find any contact info for Smith.
