Title: Intrada and Silvestri
Description: After Delta Force, what`s next?

Toby The Swede - June 17, 2008 07:14 AM (GMT)
Judgment Night was the first Silvestri score that Intrada released and now Delta Force is the second.

I know that everyone wants Back To The Future so except for that obvious one, which other Silvestri scores do you think they would go for next time?

I think that if they would release a score from his early days they would probably go for Fandango. But otherwise I think they would probably go for either The Long Kiss Goodnight or Reindeer Games.

Fandango is out of Intradas reach because of warner, but perfect for a FSM release because they are exclusive partners for warners and have released 80s warner scores before.

As far as Intrada is concerned, I don't think we will see any of the big orchestral stuff all that soon. More synth-heavy works may be in the works instead, such as Downtown or Outrageous Fortune, maybe even Sidekicks.

What really got my hopes up in the delta force announcement was this line:

supervised by composer

So silvestri supervised this release. Good news. That shows an interest on his part to get this stuff out, which is the first step to make wonders happen.

If another Silvestri should be released this year from Intrada, first it should be prior to 1987 (because of the cost of the music). So what about American Anthem ? The perfect choice of that area !

BigMacGyver - June 17, 2008 07:44 AM (GMT)
American anthem would be cool. If I am not mistaken, this belongs to columbia, so it would be perfect for either La-LaLand or Varese.

In fact, i dont care who will release it... as long as it will come out, in complete form and with the excellent stereo sound it deserves!

Of the 80s, this is probably my third most wanted previously unreleased silvestri score right after fandango (the one after american anthem would be critical condition ;) ).

Lorimar Productions produced it and Columbia distributed, according to imdb.

:yahoo:
I wasn't aware that FSM had special connexions with Warner.
An FSM release of Fandango would be awesome !

They released the superman box set which is basically a warner-only deal and contains material that was recorded largely during the 80s. Both would apply to fandango as well, of course only if they decide to release it, which i am sure they will one day.

FSM had some surprise hits recently with the box and heavy metal, so I'd say anything is possible as long as it belongs to warner.

Yes, I hope FSm will release some more early Silvestri and Poledouris stuff after CHiPs and Big Wednesday. Curious that the last one is still available, the score is truly a wonderful, first-class Poledouris!

Anakin McFly - June 17, 2008 04:10 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I agree, Big Wenesday is a big and rich score from Poledouris... Sometimes you just don't get it why it sells fast or why it's stuck in the stock.
