Title: Best Unreleased Alan Silvestri Score

BigMacGyver - April 7, 2004 01:04 PM (GMT)
Here it is! The poll for the best unreleased Alan Silvestri score (i hope i didnt make a mistake, i am not shure if a poll can be edited later :/ ). I only listed scores, which don't have a official score release

I left out BTTF... please don't shot me for it! I left it out for two reasons:

1. It already won the poll for "best Alan Silvestri Score".

2. Everybody knows one of these movies and it would distort the whole poll.

We all love BTTF!! ;)

Very difficult. I voted Siegfried & Roy, but American Anthem, Holy Man, Fandango and Stuart Little are very close.

BTW, I included Fandango, Practical Magic and Stuart Little in the poll :P Fandango is a favorite of Alan, because he did the impossible on that project, writing his first orchestral score out of the blue! And I get a lot requests about the Practical Magic score. And Stuart Little needs no explanation!

The following scores are also worth mentioning: Serendipity, No Mercy, My Stepmother is an Alien, Dutch, Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot, Grumpy Old Men, Grumpier Old Men, Fools Rush In, Stuart Little 2 and Lilo & Stitch. But we can't include them all in the poll :D

That was my biggest problem! There are so much good, but unreleased scores.
I thought about adding The Perez Family because of the nice mambo like theme. His romantic comedy scores are very good indeed, but they all seem to have a similar structure, so i only added What Women Want (lots of people know the movie). That could be annother poll: Whats the best Alan Silvestri score for a romantic comedy :D .... It's hard to vote the ultimate Silvestri Score, but it is getting easier if you only have to vote the best of a specific genre.

My favorite unreleased score remains BTTF !!!

But I voted AMERICAN ANTHEM, coz this score is just

I've only heard Stuart Little of the options and I don't really care for the score. Except a few tracks.

Justin -Who needs to get more Silvestri.... :/

I vote for Judgment Night too.

Anakin McFly - September 19, 2004 12:56 PM (GMT)
Why is there only one vote for Judgment Night then ?

justin boggan - October 18, 2004 02:48 AM (GMT)
I voated The Long Kiss Goodnight, which I just listened to last night.

But a close second would have to be My Stepmother Is An Alien

I guess the Bodyguard gets my vote. It has some ingenious chord sequences.
Almost impossible to give a fair vote since there's so much to pick from.
Summer Rental, Fandango, Stuart Little, The Perez Family, Sgt. Bilko,
Outrageous Fortune, Fools Rush In, and the Reindeer Games "love theme"...
Some of his best work remains unreleased!
It might be that the less a score conforms to a set genre, the less likely that it will
be released. And I love genre bending scores! Alan is a master of combining styles.

Judgment Night is according at least to me his most intense and fiercest claustrophobic score. It's a shame it's not on cd because it's so good. It's like he is angry while making such a score.

justin boggan - September 9, 2005 02:14 AM (GMT)
Can the poll be edited to remove Judgement Night, seeing as how... ;-)

WDWGuy08 - November 24, 2005 06:15 PM (GMT)
my favorite unreleased alan silvestri score is : VAN HELSING (Recording Sessions)!!!!

Marty McFly - November 24, 2005 10:59 PM (GMT)
Serendipity!

Pogel - November 25, 2005 07:55 PM (GMT)
I actually voted Judgment Night right now, because from that list, it's the only score I really know (and not just excerpts)

Anakin McFly - November 25, 2005 08:23 PM (GMT)
But JUDGMENT NIGHT is not an unreleased score anymore ?

Pogel - November 25, 2005 09:08 PM (GMT)
That's the reason why I know it...

Hi Guys,

My absolutly favorite for the unreleased scores is the Reindeer Score from 2000. This music is very strange, always dark often scary and grizzly, but less action. The score is from the style similar to What lies beneath... I think. Over all a untypical sound, but very intersting

try to get it!!

I just got done listening to his Mission Imposible score , different but I really liked it.
