No, I am sorry :ohno:
I deleted the last post...
BTW - I didn't know that it's your taste...it's the movie collection sometimes you are still getitng some DVDs or Videos as presents...and may don't like them..But ok let's forget it - I am not going to do again...
TommyJohnson - June 1, 2005 03:26 PM (GMT)
That's OK, no problem...I know I'm boring because I always talk about Indy and Bad Boys and Die Hard, but what can I do, I love 'em!! :proud:
And remembere that The Simpsons are just the only good cartoon for not children only. And they're in the World Guinness Record too, as the longest cartoon series ever. 16+ years...I think Groening told once that they want to arrive at the 20th Season and then stop. (20 Seasons means 365 episodes so it's one episode per day ;))
Dimitri - June 1, 2005 03:27 PM (GMT)
No no it's ok I just said I don't like The Simpsons so much... <_< But hey you love' em and thats thepoint ;)

No it's not. Indiana Jones, Die Hard and Bad Boys, I have them too. Bad Boys is not listed because it's not mine, buying the first one hopefully within this and a few days. Been planning since I came back from snowboarding.
TommyJohnson - June 1, 2005 04:22 PM (GMT)
Just curious: what do you listen while snowboarding?
Snowboard and skateboard are two kind of punk sports, you know. Don't take this as an offence, I'm just asking... ;)

:omg: Punk sports? Skateboarding perhaps but absolutely not snowboarding, no no!!! We went to France with the youthclub. 40 peoples went along boys and girls all together. It was on a mountain and what did we listen to... well on the mountain nothing. Sometimes those silences and the sound of running water is so peacefully. I had of course a few cd's with me for in the room. Hard Rain, Back to the Future, The Rock and my friend also had brought some music along. But on the mountain you don't really need music. There's enough noise of the peoples around, but you could always bring along you're MP-3 player or whatever. But it was my first time, I didn't had any experience.

I will post my dvd collection later. It will take me awhile to type them all in. My wife and I have over 400 VHS movies and over 150 DVD's. We have been collecting for about 10 years now.

Eheheh I knew I was going to shock you! :D
Yeah, skate is mostly a punk sport (which doesn't mean you have to love punk or hate pop to do it) but keep in mind that skate and snowboard are pretty much the same sport, so a lot of skaters do snowboard and viceversa.
You're right about the mountain to be more relaxing, so I can bet there are less punks that snowboards. Again, I wasn't meant to be offensive, but I know for fact a lot of snowboarders are punks. Also, videogames like Supreme Snowboard has a punk-rock soundtrack, not that different from the music from the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series. ;)

Yesterday I bought the The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Complete First Season DVD Box-Set.
The fun level is extremely high! :D
Predatorfan - June 5, 2005 01:51 PM (GMT)
I bet. Will Smith is the best black actor around!!! Closely followed by Cuba Gooding Jr.
TommyJohnson - June 5, 2005 02:40 PM (GMT)
Well said, man! I like very much Martin Lawrence too, althought apart the two Bad Boys I saw only his Big Momma's House (looking forward for Big Momma's House 2!), Life (with Eddie Murphy) and another one I don't remember the title...the one in which he was a thief and he became a cop (or viceversa)...
Very funny actor, but Will is above all the others. I think his comedy is something you can't build. You born like that. Tatyana Ali (Ashley in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) said in the special documentary on the DVDs that Will was improvising the majority of his script, even if that show was basically his first acting experience. That's just a sign of a pure talent. :proud:
Predatorfan - June 5, 2005 03:58 PM (GMT)
Good to know. Will, Martin, Eddy, Cuba!! They're all great. Of course Morgan and Danny deserve some credit too. For me Will and Eddy are two the same. Will is tough and funny in most of his roles. Eddy Murphy needs to play more like Axel Foley or Scott Roper. Beverly Hills Cop and Metro are his two best projects. It would be great if Will Smith played a rogued cop but then in a dead serious action film just like in I Robot but then set at the present time.

| Don't you like old flicks ? |
Well, I think that depends on who made it. Well my 70's movies are: Rocky, Rocky II, Jaws and that's it actually. No, the reason I thought that was because your list of the 80's and 90's was way longer then the 70's. Old flicks? Maybe, I should explore that earlier stages of the movies someday. I can be very nostalgic, so I like movies that can really give you the feeling of a decade. Movies like Fatal Attraction, Die Hard can give you the feeling of 80's. Their clothing, their haircuts, dresses and The Last Boyscout really gave me the 90's feeling. Same thing, clothing, haircuts, people used to smoke a lot during in the movies during those years. David Cronenburg's movies can give you the real 80's feeling too, I guess. I saw a scene of Scanners and I saw The Fly and it's really 80's like. That's what I like.
Anakin McFly - June 5, 2005 09:59 PM (GMT)
I grew up in the 80's and 90's, so it's pretty normal for these decades that my list is longer... And I agree with the pleasure of a certain decade's feeling, and most of my 80's movies got the 80's feeling ! :yeah:
Predatorfan - June 6, 2005 02:55 PM (GMT)
You know there perhaps only one really old flick I wanna see and that's Casablanca.
Predatorfan - June 7, 2005 03:26 PM (GMT)
My newly boughts: Blown Away, Terminator 2 Judgment Day and MacGyver.
Just my opinion:
Blown Away (** stars according allmovie)
I agree on that motion. A slight disappointment. It seemed all promising but there are too many minors at the movie, which surprises me of Stephen Hopkins cause I like his other movies: Predator 2, Judgment Night & The Ghost and the Darkness. Tommy Lee Jones's escape at the beginning was very good and Silvestri's music was very fitting, militaristic just like The Abyss. I can see now why it has a lot of comparisons with Speed and why Speed beats this movie. The plot was nice and good but there could've been a lot of more action in it and I do mean A LOT MORE. Now the scene where two of Jeff Bridges men (Rita and Cortez) dies is very good. That's a good part in the movie. But there could've been much more to it. The scene with Tommy Lee Jones and Lloyd Bridges in the men's room could've been better too. But perhaps Lloyd Bridges was too old to make a decent fight scene. I really loved those Irish accents. What this movie really lacks are a couple or a few decent worked out action scenes. The suspense could've been worked out better. It lacks it too because the scene where the woman and her kid comes back home after Lee Jones left the house with a bike was good too. So my opinion is also two stars. If there was perhaps more action and decent suspense the movie worked out better, then it did.
Terminator 2 Judgment Day (***** stars according allmovie)
I don't fully agree on that. Can't remember my opinion of the first one, have to rewatch that one and buy T-3 someday. About T-2 again. T-2 is a good movie and I would give him ***1/2, certainly not more but if I didn't had any other choice I would give him perhaps 4 stars but 3 stars and 1/2 is it and it stays that way. I misled myself on this one. I thought this one was set way ahead in the future where a sort of final battle was to be fought. Boy was I ever wrong, but most action scenes I saw pleased my very well. It's what we're all used to from Cameron right? The truck driving of the bridge for instance and one scene in particular where Sarah Connor dreams of the nuclear explosion for the second time. I loved that simulation that was really wow. Flesh just flies of your bones. I just can't believe that we're capable of doing something like that. One minute a bunch of children are playing on the playground during a beautiful day the other minute an all destroying flame takes away all human life. Piles and piles of rubble and human bones are scattered around. Children... women!!! Something else about the movie... well it didn't bothered me that much... was it's length. 140 minutes. That's nothing new from Cameron but for once I thought... the movie was good and all and it well deserves a good 3 star and a half but 140 minutes was a bit too long for this one, if he just could've shortened it to 120 minutes it would've been perfect enough. True Lies was better with the 140 minutes then T-2. OK I admit I'm partial to movies that last nearly 2 and half hours. This one was a good one though. I wonder when Cameron starts making real movies again.

Newly bought:
Bad Boys 1 (way better then I saw before a second opinion of yourself is always very helpful)
Con Air SE
Copland
Die Hard With a Vengeance SE
The Quatermain Collection
That's right, Quatermain collection, King Solomons Mines and Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold. The ones with Richard Chamberlain and Sharon Stone. So sue me. I have a few things to say. He reminds me a lot of the other adventurer with that hat and whip. The movie seems like it was made twenty years or thirty maybe even forty years too late or maybe ten years too early for a remake. Sometimes pathetic effects like when he falls off the train and grabs the chain or how about the lava explosions? The sound of the punches aren't much either. But what I do like is the happy atmosphere they placed in the movie. Instead of a rip-off Indiana Jones I rather call it a parody, few jokes are good and Sharon Stone was so cute in her role. She really tried.
Die Hard With a Vengeance. Does somebody else have the SE? When I saw Die Hard with a Vengeance a few days ago, I actually for the first time noticed what a clever scenario Jonathan Hensleigh had written. He had me going but what else was cool were the extra's. Man, music from Predator, Aliens, Speed edited on it that was so cool. I understand both characters and mainly Simon Gruber better now. The alternate ending was cool too but it still has me thinking and I think the idea was to keep you thinking. I hope I explains it well enough for ya to understand. The alternate ending was going like this.
We're now a few months later in the story. John McClane meets Simon Gruber in some Eastern-European country like Hungaria or Romania, the writer doesn't remember. The thing is they meet each other in a café. Simon succeeded in his plan to transfer the gold to his belongings. He pulled the whole thing off. John McClane got fired of his police force, because they suspected him to be involved in the heist. Because of all the riddles and the game that Gruber played McClane slightly lost his mind. So McClane finds Gruber in this café and now they play the game again, only under McClane's rules. McClane got his hands on a small Chinese rocket launcher and placed in on the table, each time Simons answers correctly he gets to turn to the barrel on the table. McClane begins to give his own riddles and Simons answers them correctly but at the third he fails and pulls the trigger of the rocket launcher. I think the trick was who'd get killed first by the rocket launcher at the wrong answer. So at the failed answer either Gruber or McClane dies. So you might have guessed that Gruber dies. The fact is actually the way it happens. The producers didn't agree on the way McClane "killed" Gruber. They said McClane became too cruel for the audience to like. On this alternate ending I have to say it's cool how they did. In fact he didn't really killed Gruber. Gruber killed himself. McClane actually convinced Gruber to kill himself. He beated Gruber on his own territory with his own game. McClane walks off saying "Yippie Ka Yay *censored*" I liked the ending but it would've marked the ending of the franchise, if you know they fired him. Now what do you think of this ending? McClane talks Gruber into killing himself. If you didn't understand my explanation go and buy the SE and see the alternate ending.

The Breakfast Club
Judge Dredd
Lord of the Rings Trilogy Special Extended Edition Boxset. 12 DVD's. Two for each film and two full of extra's. Including a 12 minute part about the scoring with interviews of Howard Shore. Lots of information about how they made the differences with the Hobbits and normal human beings and costumes. It truly is one monstrouse set they dig out the whole thing. Massive!!! Peter Jackson is the best. Also things of the cast is magnificent. They all adored Liv Tyler as she was adored with them, also they were very positive about Galadriel. How Billy Boyd and Orlando Bloom met is an interesting story. Billy Boyd is great especially with that accent of his. Apparently Viggo Mortensen can cook after he caught a fish and prepared it for the stunt doubles of the hobbits. That was an interesting part as well. Billy Boyd screamed like a girl when they had to do the scene with the fireworks and blows out of the tent. Dominic Monaghan was down flat of laughing. Then on a night John Rhys-Davies treated everyone in a restaurant and he almost ordered everything that was on the menu. :D Great just great!!! It's five and half hours of extra's on The Fellowship of the Ring with two introductions one with Peter Jackson, the other one with Elijah Wood. It already took me two days for the second disk and I'm still not finished with it. This box is one word: Wow!!
Then also I bought Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Mullholland Drive & The Ring.
