Title: New Simone Interview

Simone is in this week's "Woman's own" magazine. I've transcribed the interview for non-Brits to read. :D

Interviewer: You've replaced Hermione Norris as detective in Wire In The Blood. What's your character like?

Simone: DI Alex Fielding is very good at her job, but the polar opposite of profiler Tony Hill (Robson Green). She needs hard evidence . His theories sound like psychbabble - they drive her nuts. When they meet there's a real clash. She wants to get rid of him, at first politely, then not! But she begins to realise his worth, and they get to know one another. There's a spark there...

Interviewer: It's quite a grisly show...

Simone: Hmm, it really take you to the dark side of what a human being can be capable of, but we counterbalance that by having so much fun on set - there's lots of laughing! If he wasn't acting, Robson should be doing stand-up. I found himvery funny. of course, it helped i'd had so many sleepless nights being a new mum. I was on the point of hysteria anyway!

Interviewer: Was it hard going back to work 12 weeks after having Skye?

Simone: Yeah, i was really worried. I was desperate to find a nanny. Two phoned me and i didnt like their voices - i could leave them alone with my child! Eventually my mum agreed to look after her, and i knew Skye would be fine. They were on set with me - my trailer was baby heaven: baby bouncers attached to the door, high chair, toys...Skye made the women on set broody. I worked on my scripts with my mum, too. Being a new mum, well, something happens to your brain. It goes soft around the eges. I had to work hard to learn my lines.

Interviewer: Did your mum play Robsons part?

Simone: Yes, but without a Geordie accent! She'd joke afterwards, "How'd he play the scene? Like me?"

Interviewer: You recently stared in the film Red Mercury with Stockard Channing. What was it like working with such a movie icon?

Simone: I didnt get to know her very well - she kept herself to herself - but it was exciting. "Grease" is just fantastic film, isnt it? It's probably the best musical ever. Everyone on the set joked they had Grease Tourette's - every time we saw Stockard, one of the songs would come into our head and we would start singing or humming, and then think "For God's sake, stop that!" Bursting out into You're the one that i want...

lol - a brilliant interview. Thanks for letting us know babes im off to buy the mag tomorrow. Simone is so funny in her interviews loves it. And i love hearing her talk of baby skye.

In refrence to the child minding issues, it must be hard being an actress and looking for a minder you trust. Simone is really lucky to have her mum. I mean any one of the people that phoned Simone could be a fan. That dont have to be a bad thing, i mean i would love to look after skye, as im sure we all would lol. But there is a risk of actresses getting crazy fans working for them, i think it was written about in a fic Rock Star if i remember right.
