Hi there,

Unfortunately there were a couple of interviews where Simone has made comments that do suggest she wasn't happy with Shed and some aspects of her role.

Off the top of my head I can't find them without the site being about - but the most recent was when people picked it up again. It might even be mentioned which interviews in the thread on the other board. Can't remember. Late night...... kinda tired...... no excuse I know...... but......

*walks off to make a coffee*

lol no worries rune tune - thanks anyway. I did read something on the other site about Shed asking Simone if she was pregnant because they thought she was putting on weight and was too big..... the bloody cheek of that, Simone is gorgeous, always has been. What i have always liked about SImone and im sure others have is she is not stick thin verging on anerexia like a lot of actresses. Simone has a really gorgeous womanly figure.

i only read a couple of the posts over there because i was getting rather angry. one possibility that everyone seemed to overlook was that she was misquoted or that the quotes were out of context. someone referenced an article in which simone said that she liked bad girls because of the money. don't they remember the interview on the series 3 dvd where she jokes about money - she's so sarcastic sometimes and often that doesn't translate to print. also, i don't think she shyed away from the sexuality thing - in the south africa trailer outtakes she kept trying to snog mandana! as for saying that she wasn't fond of the scripts she first read - i work in the film industry and i read a lot of scripts that aren't all that impressive when they're first sent. actors often get sent first or second drafts because the casting process takes place during the development period - which means that the script is also often being reworked during that time. however, i do believe that simone might have been a bit overwhelmed by the response that the show (her and mandana in particular) received. "To her amazement she began to get sacks of fan mail from lesbians and even obsessive phone calls from one stranger who got hold of her mobile number."

i probably should have posted this over there, but i didn't want to take the time and register.

o.k! we're all fans of simone here but lets get real.!just read the 'helen and nikki' site.she's an ACTRESS.a gorgeous one, clever and realistic but come on.....it's her job.yes, some jobs in this industry are about the 'steady income'.helen is in all our our hearts as a great character but thats all she was.why disect simone's portrayal so intensley?she did a great job(enough to 'still' have us all talking about something that is probably a lifetime ago for her) so what about now?mum, wire, married etc...

Unfortunately there is always going to be an arguement that you have a responsibility at times if you are in the public eye. However, I doubt anyone will ever know the truth or how much Simone did or didn't say that has been accurately reported.

Thats why I've always tended to stay away from those kind of discussions, because having known quite a few journalists over the years, I know how they will deliberately change one word or omit a word simply to get a better story. I also know that many actors never bother to change a story unless it is directly causing a problem because it costs money to do that!

So like I say.... I tend to stay out of the discussion!

I didnt read all of what was said. I think some people go totally over the top, interpretting meaning that arent even there to suit their own purpose.

I think it is a shame that a few comments that we dont even know were actually said, get ripped apart and criticised so much.

Lahbibster - December 14, 2006 10:42 AM (GMT)
Didn't the interview say, "When I FIRST read the script" etc etc....

Anyway does it really matter, as everyone moves on.

kiss_hester - January 11, 2007 01:01 PM (GMT)
Well, I just don't think it is very smart of her to say things like this. I hope she realizes that because of Bad Girls she's got a lot of fans...
Bit disappointed, but it's been a long time ago of course, so I guess it's normal for her to move on. I just wish she would appreciate Bad Girls a little more, since that's the role that made her career. But that's just my opinion. I love her anyways.
And btw: I totally agree on the fact that this might be a mis-quote! And even if it wasn't, she's entitled to have her own opinion. Can't really care...

ormster - January 15, 2007 03:40 PM (GMT)
I totally understand why this has upset some and how disappointed people feel. But im sure she does appreciate the show and all the positives she got out of it, ie its populatrity and the fantastic cast. Im sure that if the interview had been entirely on the subject of bad girls that this would have come across. It is terrible though how some things get twisted, and how she could have been mis-quoted, magazines and television are very good at doing that.
slightly off topic and just out of curiosity i was wondering if any of you knew if simone and Mandana were still good friends? One thing i always loved about them was the chemistry they had off scren as well as on, and the trust they had for one another. i know their lives are different now but just wondered, any ideas??

slfan4ever - January 15, 2007 03:58 PM (GMT)
Hey there ormster - i dont know for sure but im sure they remain friends but dont get to see much of each other i would imagine. Yes they did have brilliant chemistry on screen and they were good friends when filming and have worked together before.

Actually i remember reading somewhere once that Simone was good friends with Lara Cazet (i think thats her name) the actress that played Zandra

ormster - January 15, 2007 06:16 PM (GMT)
Cool, thanks for that, hope you're right cos its not often that you find friends that compleatly understand one another. I say hold on to them xxx
