Not quite ended yet, but I just wanted to say ........ bloody hell!
I actually think this has to be close to one of the best performances I've seen from Simone......... and this has to be one of the best episodes of WitB ever! *and I there have been some exceptionally good ones since the first series*
And just good to see some more of Alex and her private life as well. Great balance so far.

i totally agree about the performance from Simone. she just keeps getting better and better. I was quite freaked out by the whole witchcraft thing though

I agree too, Simone's performance was great. I didnt like the whole subject of the episode, it was scary, it literally gave me nightmares. Aside from the scaryness, the popcorn scene was funny.

I agree about the popcorn, and subsequent scenes where Tony was in the office and he mentioned the Maple Syrup! Great reply back, and just laughed when he went to walk away and found the paper stuck to his sleeve and the way he reacted to it.
As I said, great balance in the episode, although personally I didn't have a problem with the subject matter of the episode (I tend not to with this kind of thing anyway). But still thought it was well worked and put together.

Its such a well written programme, like u said Rune Tune the balance is great. Tony's like a big kid in some ways, does anyone else think that too?
lovesimone - July 19, 2007 11:22 AM (GMT)
I totally agree with you on the comment Alex made when Tony mentioned the Maple syrup. I think it's amazing how even though it's a serious programme the writers seem to manage to include just sharp, funny comments, which always seem to be delieverd by Simone. There was one in "the colour of amber" where Tony mentioned that the child needed to trust Alex n Alex replied with "what do you recommend? A trip to Alton Towers?"

WOW! WOW! WOW! :jaw
I just finishing watching the episode after having my computer all night long down loading it. What a scary episode, I think it is the scariest one so far since the first one from series 4, I didn't watch this series before. I confess it was dificult for me to watch it but it worthed , because it is a great story and to see the dramatic acting of Simone.
I thought it was poignant when she went to sleep with her boy, it looks like she was giving protection but she was needing it too, a very fragile and touching scene.
After this episode I think Simone is screamming for a comedy right now :D

I thought that scene was very sweet too Lootcha, you can see how the case Alex was investigating was really getting to her whether she wanted to admit it or not. Simone says so much with her facial expressions and body language without having to say a word.

I agree with all comments about this episode. Definitely the best one I've seen. Simone amazed me with her performance this episode. So dramatic. I loved the insight into Alex's home life and we had a bit more about her past as well (the phone call from Ben's father).
I was quite scared with the overall subject matters in the episode, but I was also nearly in tears, thanks in big part to Simone's acting! I was so frightened for Ben near the end, as well as for Alex.
I also loved how the writers slipped in little comedy moments. Like with the popcorn. "Yeah, it's still stuck to my ceiling"!! This show is gifted with brilliant writers. And awesome actors to go with it of course :)

I actually can't remember the last time when I enjoyed watching something like this as much as I did. It was certainly a while ago now!
Most definitely one of the best episodes of WitB (of any series) - and most certainly one of Simone's best performances...... in anything.
She thoroughly deserves to be nominated for best actress on that performance alone.
Rune Tune - July 23, 2007 11:06 AM (GMT)
Oh and while I think about it - I will be trying to get something scanned and uploaded for you with a WitB connection! A word search spotted by my other half in one of those TV mags that get given away with papers - but don't ask me which one (I tend to generally only read the Guardian and I know it wasn't that lol).

I was frightened for Simone as well, I think it was even more scaried for her to delivered all that anguish since now that she is a mother and already said how she felt about children getting hurt and so on.
She made a great job. she deserves a award for sure.
Me too, long time don't get hooked up on a series, I am enjoying this one very much what is incredible because usually I run from that kind of film

Simone managed to make me cry too, i really felt for Alex. Simone so deserves that National Television Award for sure.
SexySimoneForever - July 23, 2007 05:41 PM (GMT)
I totally agree Lizi. Simone is an amazing actress :hug2
Lisa289 - July 23, 2007 06:06 PM (GMT)
I agree with all who have said that Simone deserves that NTA. On that performance alone, I think she deserves it!
