Okay it has literally only just started, but thats a pretty explosive beginning already and it sounds like this is going to be another exceptionally emotive episode!

Another amazing episode!!! Wasn't as brilliant as last week's, but did we really expect it to be? Last week was beyond fantastic description.

Anyway, this was still a great one. I can't believe the killer got out the country again! :eek

Did anyone else have tears in their eyes when Jack was found? Or was that just me?

Rune Tune - July 25, 2007 10:12 PM (GMT)
The sub plot of Jack was very well done, and yes, I did feel immensely sorry for the lad! It just goes to show sometimes it is never as black and white as people might like to make it out to be.

And no, it wasn't as powerful as last weeks episode, mainly because it wasn't as personal to any main character, but it was still another very good one. And again, they didn't baulk at showing the guy got away and is now abroad again! I wonder if they might just pull it together for another episode in the future.
It certainly would leave it open for another if they wanted, or even a sub plot to a main episode.

Next weeks looks good again.

I really did feel sorry for Jack, i didnt want him 2 kill himself :( I was nearly cryin too Lisa.

I really enjoyed this episode, although i didnt really get the ending, slightly confused, but whats new lol.

I can't believe next weeks is the last one! feels like its only been on 2 minutes.

Rune Tune - July 26, 2007 09:40 AM (GMT)
That is the only downside isn't it! Knowing its nearly over.

Mind you I do think one reason WitB works so well is that it is given 1 and a half hours (although slightly less allowing for ad's on actual showing time).
Which when you think about it, can almost be the same length as a film might be - so there is plenty of time to really explore a storyline that otherwise you might have to rush.

I guess though we pay for that by only having 4 episodes, but again, I think too many and it would end up diluting the characters and stories.

Went over it again in my mind yesterday and still think it was an good episode. I think the problem is that really episode 2 was so powerful, that unless the others are at least as good, I do think it's the sort of storyline that might have been better putting as the last to be shown, rather than so early in the series? *hope that makes sense*

Aye that makes sense :) i know what you mean. I agree that it probably would have been better to show Nocebo as the last episode because of the plot being close to the central characters

I love how the episodes are 1 and half hours long beccause you can put more into the story and get more out of it. if you know what i mean?

I agree that Nocebo would have been a great ending episode to the series. And it was so powerful because it focused on the characters more than other episodes. It made me think back to last year's series and my favourite episode of that one. I can't remember what it was called, but it was the one where Paula posed as a prostitute and got into real danger. But I loved that episode for the same reason: it revolved around the main characters more.

Anyway, back to Names Of Angels.
Although Jack's story was more of a sub-plot to the murder storyline, I found myself more interested in what Jack was doing.
And I also agree with what's been said about the absconding of the killer; it does leave it open for the storyline to return. Will be interesting to see if they do continue it next week. (Or maybe even next series?)

Can't believe next week is the last episode! :jaw

Lisa, funny you should mention that episode in series 4 (Torment, ep 2). Because it was the one I really enjoyed the most out of last series as well, and for the same reasons - it was really character driven, as was the last episode last year, The Wounded Soldier, which I thought was a close second best.

Next weeks could be interesting, looking at the trailer and also reading the synopsis - Which I have placed in next weeks episode thread I've started already. It might well be another exceptionally high driven character one.

I just finished watching it, and I need to watch it again to understand better but from what I already get I think it is a great episode, I was scared for that girl at the end, really worried for her and praying for the police to arrive in time to save her.
About Jack I was worried about him mostly because at first he looks to be very dangerous for Tony to have him around, at the end he end up to be the victm not the criminal, poor boy, very sad ending for him.

I agree that Nocibo should be the last episode, plus it is always more interesting to have an episode where the main characters are in the center of the plot. I guess the next episode would be like it and I am already anxious to see it.

There are only 4 episodes but they are absulutely great! My nerves wouldn't endure more than that I think :)

Oh yes, I loved last year's finale too :) All very character-driven.

I agree. Can't wait for next week's. But also don't want it to come too quickly because it's the last one :(

Very true. I think it's mostly because they are feature length episodes, not just 30minute or 60minute. They're fantastically spread out too. :)
