Is there a city, or area in Great Britain similar to Hollywood/Los Angeles? A central location for television/motion picture studios? A place where the "stars" go to be seen?

Just curious, as I've never seen or heard of anyplace like it.

London, but there is also a short time when it becomes Edinburgh - they have a festival and it just goes completely nuts.

But London because its where most of the main TV and studios are based. But we just don't have a major film area now like we used to - but we're still considered one of the best when it comes to CGI and Special Effects work.
