welcome

Welcome to Cross Plains, Georgia! Come on in, y'all, and set with us a spell.

For a long time there's been strange things happening at the orphanage in Cross Plains. On the inside, a secret government experiment gives parentless children strange and wonderful abilities - on the outside, the superstitious townspeople think witches are working black magic and are on a hunt for those who've signed the Devil's book.

Only time will tell the fate of Cross Plains. Will you help us weave it?

Breckinridge Road
The first street of three in Downtown Cross Plains. It can be loosely considered a medical district because it's home to the doctor's office and the pharmacy. It also holds the only grocery store in town, as well as a tiny book store. The stores face the back of the old theater, and there are only stores on one side of the street.

Maddox Drive
Maddox Drive runs down the center of Downtown, and is the second of the three streets. At the head of it is the Courthouse, in which is also housed the Police Department, and the public library. Along the right side, you can find the bank, Cross Plains' only lawyer, and the historic Wink Theater. Along the left, there are a couple of restaurants, a dry cleaner, and a small, privately-owned clothing store. This is the most busy street in town, and parking is heinous, so you might want to ride a bike.

- Smith and Johnson, Attorneys At Law
- First Bank of Cross Plains
- The Historic Wink Theater
- Madge's Diner
- Vickie Lynn's Hair Salon
- Pizza Villa

Aiken Hill Road
Any decent, civilized person tries to avoid Aiken Hill Road as much as possible. It's home to Cross Plains' only bar and liquor store, a pawn shop, and a dirty arcade where juvenile delinquents have been known to frequent. There's an abandoned K-Mart at the end of it, and it's also the home of the old, broken down site of Cross Plains Home for Children. Mulligan's Garage is on Aiken Hill, though, and it's the only place to get an oil change in Cross Plains, so everyone has to go there sometime.

Maddox Gardens
Maddox Gardens is a small neighborhood that faces Downtown. It's crowning centerpiece is the Maddox House, an old Southern plantation house that existed on the grounds before Cross Plains was founded. Now, Maddox Gardens is the "nice" place to live in town: the home of Cross Plains' upper class.

Education Alley
All three schools - Elementary, Middle, and High - are on Education Alley. Cross Plains High School is the center of activity on Friday nights in the fall, when all the good citizens put on their maroon and gold and cheer on the Cross Plains Pheonixes at football.

Longview Drive
Moderately nice, affordable housing. Mostly young families live here. It's safe and clean, and close to the schools, so most children can just walk or ride their bikes to school. There's also a public playground at the end of the street.

Day Gap Road
There are smaller houses on Day Gap, some appropriate for newly-married couples or single people living alone. There are the fair share of young families living here, though, too. These houses are a good deal cheaper than the ones on Longview, and still fairly close to the schools.

Belle Court Avenue
There's some incredibly cheap housing on Belle Court, but unfortunately, it's not the -best- housing in town. The local government tries it's best to keep the neighborhood clean, though. The local Baptist church is at the end of Belle Court.

Hackney Road
Hackney Road is the long stretch of road that runs perpendicular to and intersects with Longview, Day Gap, and Belle Court. It runs by the Fairgrounds, Edwards' Park, and the old General Store, which sells farm supplies.

Stonehearth
This is the new orphanage in town. Across the street from the local Baptist church, it was built to replace Cross Plains Home for Children, which was becoming overcrowded in the tightly-cramped downtown. Out here, the children will have more space.

And the scientists will have more privacy.

Statham Drive
A left turn at the end of Longview will bring you to Statham Drive. Everything along Statham is behind the Fairgrounds, and includes the Flea Market, Cross Plains' only motel, an abandoned drive-in theater, and the junkyard.

Crider County
This is the rest of Crider County, which is mostly widespread farmland. Cotton and tobacco are grown in the sprawling farmland of Crider County, tended by farming families who only come into Cross Plains for supplies. Out towards the county limits there's cool Ogeechee Creek, which is a place where town and country children alike go to cool off in the baking summers of South Georgia.
