Body Type;; slender, boyish

Scars;; several on her legs and arms from playing soccer
Most Notable Feature;; her large, lovely eyes
Appearance;;
    Though her looks wouldn’t qualify Julia as a ‘classic’ beauty, she would definitely be considered a ‘natural’ beauty, as all of her features are quite attractive. This blessing is wasted on her, however, as she isn’t too concerned with her appearance. The only make-up she wears is a bit of mascara (water- and sweat-proof, of course), which does accentuate her most notable feature; her wide, chocolate-brown eyes. Anyone, you see, could have pretty eyes, but it’s her strong, arched brows that really make hers stand out. These dramatic features are balanced out by a rather simple, straight nose. Her lips are of average size: not horribly thin, but not so large that she looks like a duck. While her face is quite lovely, she has a slightly odd jawline, which is the product of taking a soccer ball to the face at a young age.

    As she spends a great deal of time outside, the sun has played a big part in Julia’s appearance. Wavy brown locks have been highlighted quite nicely, the sun bringing out their natural blonde tones. She did have professionally-done streaks added in once, but it would have been too much of a pain for her to keep up with the highlighting, so she let them grow out. They had looked far too fake anyway. Also, her arms and legs are quite tan, though she does have some unsightly lines from wearing socks, shorts, and tank tops. This is one of the reasons why she rarely wears swimsuits, the other being the fact that her body really doesn’t look good in swimsuits.

    Julia, you see, isn’t nearly as curvy as most girls her age. In fact, her bust and hips are nearly nonexistant. When this fact is paired with her toned limbs (training works wonders for the body), it would be easy to classify her body as ‘boyish’. This lack of curves doesn’t phase Julia, however. Instead, she uses it to her advantage; it’s easier for her to remain active when she doesn’t have to worry about her girlish parts getting in the way. While she doesn’t mind not having them, she’s sometimes quite self-conscious and fears that maybe guys really aren’t attracted to her because she’s so incredibly flat.

    “You know, mom, I’m really just not like most of the other girls.”

    This statement, said by a seven-year-old Julia upon her mom’s asking why she hadn’t made any friends at school, pretty much sums up Julia’s personality. Instead of shopping or getting her hair done, she’d rather engage in any sort of a competition, whether it’s a hand of poker or the occasional game of beer pong. She’s a driven girl, and she knows that some day she’s going to really be something, and that motivates her even more to do her best. She doesn’t let obstacles get in the way. Hell, she’ll plow right through them. Like the fact that her elementary school didn’t have a girls’ soccer team. Julia evaded that minor set-back by joining the boys’ team, and she kicked some major ass while doing it. While she thrives on competition, it’s really winning that Julia loves the most. She’ll do anything to achieve that win, too. Sometimes she plays dirty, but you really can’t blame her, as dirty is always more fun.

    Though many girls are extremely preoccupied with how guys perceive them, Jules does want guys to like her, but this doesn’t lead her to run out and purchase those new designer jeans or a skimpy dress. Instead, she becomes their buddy through typical guy things like dirty jokes and the occasional burp-off, and then she finds her way into their heart.

    Another thing that helps her bond with guys is her addiction to danger. Yes, she’s basically an adrenaline junkie. Skydiving, rock climbing, white water rafting. Been there, done that. She’s always looking for the next thing to get her blood pumping. Since she lives in the moment, she doesn’t usually think about the consequences of her actions beforehand. In fact, you could say she tends to be a little careless. Occasionally looking before she leaped would be a good idea. She’s stubborn as a mule, though, and probably won’t change her ways any time soon.

    Her life has only thrown her minor difficulties so far, but Julia has handled them flawlessly. Instead of falling to pieces, she pulls herself up and takes everything on her shoulders. Weakness, in her eyes, is the worst possible sin to commit. That’s why she keeps everything bottled up inside of her, sometimes coming across as a bit distant and aloof.

    A not-so-pleasant side of her rough nature is the fact that Julia loves to push her siblings, step and blood, around, testing them in an odd way. Even when she was younger and it was just her and Landon, she would constantly dare him to do the craziest things, like going down their huge staircase inside a laundry basket. It’s this lovely little quirk that has led her to be known as the ‘Evil Stepsister’, though in all fairness, she could be a lot more evil.

    All in all, Julia is fairly easy to get along with. She’s not too moody, though when PMS strikes, you should probably watch out, as she’s likely to drop-kick you for simply talking too loudly. She’s also a great listener and extremely loyal to those she cares about.[/b]
RECKLESS. DEDICATED. ROUGH. STRONG.

History;;
    Julia’s mom would tell you that birthing her first child was comparable to going through hell.
    It was June 1st when her water broke, and she and her current husband immediately went to the hospital. Well, almost seventy-two hours later, Julia still hadn’t come out naturally and her mom wasn’t anywhere near fully dilated, so the docs opted to perform a c-section. While this would leave her with a rather unsightly scar, Jules’ mom was ready to do whatever she had to do to get this baby out of her. When she was finally out, and her mom was nearly knocked out from the painkillers they’d given her, Julia slept in her dad’s arms. Perhaps because she’d caused her mom such discomfort, or perhaps because of those extra few hours spent breathing in her dad’s cologne, Julia grew up to be a total tomboy. Instead of painting her nails with her mom, she’d spend time kicking around a ball with her dad. And then Landon came along and together they made the perfect trio.

    Together they would play kickball in the yard (while one of them kicked, the other played the ‘outfield’, while their dad acted as the pitcher), go for hikes in the mountains, and go fishing. Then, her dad got sick. There wasn’t a particular time when Julia first realized something was wrong. Instead, it was more of a gradual decline. He’d occasionally pass on playing a game outside, and instead suggest that they watch the world cup on TV. Then the cancer began progressing, and, though they did what they could to combat it, he was eventually forced to spend his days in a bed, hooked up to countless machines. When the doctors were sure everything was almost done, he asked to speak to each of them- Julia, her mom, and Landon- privately. Jules, who was only ten at the time, put on her brave face and nodded, waiting for the other two to leave. As he looked at his daughter, he grinned, “You know I love you, right?” and that was when she lost it. At the finality of his words, tears fell from her eyes, and she shook her head, “Dad... dad, no. You can’t.” He ignored her words, however, and said, “Buck up, darling. Don’t cry. Crying only makes things worse.” So she stopped and listened as her father told her to always watch out for Landon, to make sure she always did her best, and to make him proud. Of course, she’d answered. She wouldn’t let him down.

    The next few years all blurred together in a great mass of soccer, silent battles against the emotions she didn’t want to deal with, soccer, and putting up with the men her mom dated. Apparently, she wasn’t having as hard a time getting over her husband as her daughter was. A mere three years after his death, she was engaged, and Julia was incredibly upset- how could she simply move on? Jules still fought back the tears at night (don’t cry, she would tell herself), and here her mom was, acting as if things were fine.
    So Julia, not knowing what else to do, put her brave face on and did her best to act as if the possibility of a whole new family excited her. In fact, it made her quite sick to her stomach. So, once they’d moved in and the marriage was just beginning, she entirely threw herself into soccer. She was going to become a star; she was going to make her dad proud. And then, when she was a freshman, she knew her practicing had paid off when she snagged a spot on the varsity team. From there, her life sort of fell into place. She began getting along well with her step-siblings, and she was making friends. She’d always sort of kept to herself, but now she was really blossoming. With a boyfriend (and his kick-ass brothers...), she was actually starting to feel truly happy for the first time since her dad had passed away.

QUOTE
“And every fair from fair sometime declines. By chance, or nature’s changing course, untrimmed. But thy eternal summer shall not fade, nor lose possession of that fair thou owest.”

Shakespeare’s sonnet eighteen. It was, in Lavender Brown’s opinion, the loveliest he had written. She would kill for a guy to recite something as beautiful as that to her. Most, however, didn’t seem to be all that fond of poetry, especially the lovey sort. So, she’d resigned herself to memorizing it herself. Then, perhaps, she could imagine a guy reciting it when he was instead talking about something boring like the newest broom models.

Sighing, Lav kicked her feet back and forth, letting her toes lightly skim the surface of the lake. She was perched on the bank, her dark-washed jeans rolled up to her knees to keep them from getting wet. A pair of trainers and socks sat beside her, along with her bag and a recent letter from Parvati. Lavender still found it impossible to believe that her best friend, the girl who had practically been her sister was now half way across the world. Lav wasn’t sure of Vati’s exact whereabouts, as she couldn’t really say in her letters, but she knew her friend was incredibly far away.

Pulling her feet out of the water, she wrapped her arms around her knees, wishing she’d worn something warmer than simply a tank top with a zip-up sweatshirt over it. In an effort to combat the evening breeze, she pulled the hood up over her head, waves of blonde just barely contained. For now, she was warm again, so she unfolded her legs and let her feet fall to the lake’s surface once more.

Retrieving a muggle notebook and pencil from her bag, she began writing a letter back to Parvati, detailing everything that had happened over the past few days, which was a whole lot of nothing. She, however, elaborated on everything from Hermione and Ron’s split to how completely horrible Pansy’s hair was looking.

She was so into her letter-writing that someone could have sat down right next to her and she wouldn’t have noticed.

TEMPORARILY ACCEPTED.

AKA. It's good, but Peter just needs to look over the history and make sure there's no bugs, because even I make them. You can post and whatnot, but make sure to come back here and see what he has to say!

PS. The third paragraph in history is a little short, but I'll let it slide. =).

PETER - ACCEPTED --> love it.
