- Images Painted Effect Tutorial
We are going to use
this Lindsay Lohan picture as our example for us to work on.
Right click on the image and save it to your My Pictures folder.
Open photoshop cs and click
File >> Open and locate the lindsay lohan picture where you saved it.
You can optionally create a 500px by 500px document and drag the picture over and resize it or choose part of the image.
Unlock the layer if you opened it up from the original lindsay lohan picture. Rename it to 'Lindsay Lohan Source'.
Duplicate the layer by pressing CTRL + J while you have the layer selected. Make sure the newly created layer is above the original source image.
To the newly created duplicate layer, apply a gaussian blur by going to:
Filter >> Blur >> Gaussian Blur. Use a radius of 12.0 pixels to give us a nice strong blur.
Add a layer mask to the gaussian blurred layer. Go to:
Layer >> Add Layer Mask >> Reveal AllClick the white box [layer mask] on the gaussian blurred layer and apply a cloud effect to it by going to:
Filter >> Render >> Clouds.
Now click on the gaussian blurred main image, not the cloud layer mask. Now go to:
Filter >> Artistic >> Cutout. With these following settings:
Number of levels: 4
Edge Simplicity: 4
Edge Fidelity: 2
Click on the main source image named 'Lindsay Lohan Source' and duplicate it once again by clicking CTRL + J.
Move this newly created layer above all the other layers so it will be positioned at the very top.
With this layer do the following:
Filter >> Artistic >> Colored Pencil. With these following settings:
Pencil Width: 4
Stroke Pressure: 8
Paper Brightness: 25
Now change the opacity of this layer to 80% and apply the layer blend mode to 'overlay'.
