Title: 3k Necrach List What Do U Think?

Ben5 - April 8, 2007 06:02 PM (GMT)
I was writing an amry list for a big battle on Saturday with Von Carsteinsd then i decided to use Necrachs :w00t:, I found that even though i was unable to get many spells off because of so many level 4 and Lord Kroack and a 2nd Gen Slann that they are very good not only on the offensive but also on the defensive.
This is the army list that i used

Lords
Vampire Lord
Lv 3
Noble Blood
Crown of Damned
Unholy Cynosure

Vampire Count
Noble Blood
Lv 2
Ring of Night
Unholy Cynosure

Heroes
Necro
Lv 2
Book of Archan

Necro
Lv 2
Rod of Flaming death

Necro
Lv 2
Staff of damnation

Core
19 Skeletons
Light Ar
Full command

30 Zombies
Standard
Musician

30 Zombies
Standard
Muscican

10 Zombies
Standard
Muscican

5 Dire wolves

5 Dire Wolves

8 Ghouls
Ghast

Special
19 Grave Guard
Banner of Barrows
Full Command
Shields

6 Black Knights
Banner of Doom
Full Command
Barding

3 Fellbats

3 Fellbats

Rare
2 Banshees

This list worked well however when reading through the VC army book i though about including a zombie dragon from the back of the book list and it is basically the same but i had to drop the ghouls and a necrommancer the one with the rod of flaming death. Then i had to put the fell bats into one unit of 6 so that the dire wolves could go into the special choices. So i was wondering would it be wise to drop as stated above for the zombie dragon. I could afford a zombie dragon because i had a 100 points spare from the first one.

I wouldn't do the zombie dragon, just to big of a target. Also as a necharch I would consider droping a Necro and adding a wight lord possibly even as abattle standard bearer. Then again I look at things through Blood Dragon eyes. B)

Alright cheers for the reply. Also i know that thismay sound stupid but why should i have a wight lord in my army, what should i give him as the battle standard bearer and finnaly which unit should i put him in i was thinking grave guard.

WL BSB, heavy armour, SoK, gem of blood. That is a nasty model in a barrows unit.

Amen to Mortis. You need to know that you have some combat power available and combinding a WL with a banner of barrows um ya, slaughter.

Life good as a vampire

Alright cheers again for the replies. If i give my wight lord i give him the banner of the barrows what would i then give the unit i was thinking of just a warbanner for this unit coupled with a wight lord and necrach lord it would add extra protection for him in challenges because my friend has skaven and i might be playing aganist him soon coupled with his blood dragon army list as well so i think that this unit will be very hard to beat. So cheers for the quick replies

Also, On your lord I'd swap the crown for bloodlines and SoM/BB. He'll do better in CC, and he shouldn't be making too many saves anyway. Any shooting, he's got "look out, sir!" to protect him.

Ditto on the count.

I'd switch the rod of flaming death for 2 scrolls or a scroll and periapt.

Ditch the ghast. Worst champion in the game.

You need more GG. 24+character should be minimum. One casualty and your down to +2 rank bonus.

I'd ditch the barding on the BKs. They're too small to be a hammer, and the barding restricts their maneuvrability for flanking.

Don't put the necrarch lord in GG. Put him in zombies/skellies. Gives him a raisable bodyguard, means you're less likely to simply be avoided, and makes him less of a target.

Alright cheers again for the replies when Morits said "crown for bloodlines and SoM/BB". What do you mean because im not to great on the abreviasions and what blood line powers would you suggest?

Mortis - April 15, 2007 07:38 PM (GMT)
Switch the crown of the damned for a bloodline power(s) and sword of might or biting blade. It's often more useful.

Ben5 - April 16, 2007 06:31 AM (GMT)
Thanks, which blood line powers would you suggest for both my lord and my count? Cheers

Mortis - April 16, 2007 10:45 AM (GMT)
Lord I'd get dark acolyte and biting blade or sword of might and forbidden lore.

Count I'd give whatever combo you didn't give your lord, or leave as is.

Alright cheers Morits ill probably try it out in a last stand battle tonight or maybe next week!
