After looking through the advice I got I think this one looks a bit better. I dropped a few units here and there (Forgot I would be putting characters in there, had to make room)
With the spare points I upgraded my Count into a Lord, also dropped the spears on the Skeleton units to upgrade the Lord to level four.
Any advice would be appreciated, of course :-)

Split the ghouls into 2 x 5 and 1 x 9.
The small units are excellent in a number of ways. Screens, distraction and can actually dish out some hurt against light armoured units.
The bigger unit are of course more durable and can overtake abit more challenging tasks.
Apart from that the list looks great.
Good luck.
edit : well spotted, yes you have too many characters.

hi jmyth
the first thing i've noticed is that u have little bit too much heroes :D lord is using two hero slots and in 2000 pts games u have only four slotsso lord plus wight L,necro and trall is five :D
the second thing is gouls, in my opinion is better to have two units of ten gouls then one with 20 of these guys other then this, it is a good list.

Hmm, ahh hell, small oversight there.
Tis what I get for making a list before breakfast eh?

Alrighty, with the extra 100 points I picked the spears back up. Still got a spare 70 points.
Which would be a better idea for the last 70 points, another group of three fell bats or another group of wolves?
Suva_kos - June 15, 2007 07:04 PM (GMT)
hmm with these 70 spare pts you could put in a necro bunker
JMyth - June 16, 2007 01:58 AM (GMT)
I could drop the Thrall to upgrade to a Lord, would make it a bit harder to kill my Vampire. I don't even have a unit for the Thrall to hide in, so I think it'd be a good idea.
Still puts me at 105 free points, maybe another unit of wolves? Maybe a Banshee, or grab Bardings for my Knights? Could drop the spears and fell bats for another group of Ghouls as well.
So many possibilities

Ditch the spears, and split the ghouls into 3 units of 7, no ghasts.
With the spare 108pts, get another pack of 8 ghouls, and add two bats to one of the units.
EDIT: However, I would consider going for a necro with book of arkhan and a scroll over the thrall, and a necro with scroll and periapt over the 2nd necro, as you only have 5 dispel dice and no scrolls. That would rule out boosting the bats, but you'd be able to increase the size of a 2nd ghoul unit.

But isn't it a better idea to make large units, to better take advantage of Fear?
Mortis - June 16, 2007 06:55 PM (GMT)
Yes, but ghouls' greatest strength is their maneuvrability. I find units of 20 lose out on this and tend to die.
Edmund has had success, but in general, units of 5-11 are best, generally odd-numbered units.

It's a personal cjoice, but myself, I don't tend to bother with light armour. at two points, it's just that bit too expensive. 40 points for a unit of 20 is better used elsewhere, I think.
