barded nightmare
Neh dark blood

necro
d scroll, book of arkhan

necro
flaming rod

3x10 skellies shield, la standard
12 zombies
2x5 dire wolves

3 fell bats
6 black knights, full command, barding banner of barrows
6 black knights, full command, barding, warbanner

2 banshees

dis dice 7
power dice 11

what do you think? i am thinking of combining the 3 skellies into 2 units of 15. i like the idea of a vampire thrall that can still cast basic spells. normally just use him to raise dudes anyway.

any thoughts?

I would add the magic levels to the necros, now it is a bit confusing.
If you mostly use the thrall to jsut raise stuff it might be better to replace him with another lv 2 necro, both cheaper and more magic.

Your list will suffer against any army with a real magic defence. You just have to raise many more skellies/zombies to be able to send decent regiments into combat. The ones which now are in your list are a bit too small for that. To that end you might want to increase the unit sizes and of coarse give them musicians, I can't count the amount of times they have won combat for me.

And where do your characters go?

sorry should have put that it...

the necros are level 2. each charcter has his own skellie or zobmbie block. i like the idea of a thrall with str 5 helping to defend the skellies whilst also raising dudes. also has +1 to cast so is quite good too. basically do i want to give up 1 PD, magic item slot and 1 spell roll for +1 to cast, move 6, str 5, tough 4, ws 4 with 3 attacks? would help stiffen the line( a little).

i would be surprised if this list did struggle vs a mod to heavy magic defence as 10 pow dice plus 2 bound items is pretty strong. the 2 units of black knights with 2 banshees are also quite handy.

You would get something through, but it could easily not be enough. Magic is quite luck-based, with a small amount of dice deciding eveything, which can mean that you will not succeed. There is the chance of failing to cast and some armies do have a load of dispelling, only a few dispellings can do after all.
