Title: Favorite dub?
Description: If you took the time to look at others.

Saku-Tatsuya - July 4, 2007 11:24 PM (GMT)
I thought that I'd start an original topic that seems to have never been made before.

Anyways, my favorite dub just has to be the Arabic dub. I mean, sure, some characters sound soft but other then that it was just... beautiful. I esspecially loved Bankotsu's voice. Unlike most other dubs, Bankotsu's voice in this one was very suiting for him. It didn't sound too old nor too young, it was perfect.

Well, that's my basic reason for liking Arabic dub. ^^;

I've only ever head in in English and Japanese. I honestly think--and I rarely say this-- that the English dub is better than the Japanese. InuYasha sounds, erm... awkward when he screams in Japanese, not to mention he sounds much older than he should.

Sango in Eng and in Jap sound similar, Kikyo sounds to happy in Japanese, Miroku sounds WAY too old in Japanese, Sesshomaru voice is WAY too low... No, wait, you wanna talk about low voices? Her's a few that just... they;re not right, man.

Myoga's voice is too low, Hatchiemon's voice is way to low (Miroku's raccon-dog), and Totosai's voice is way too low in Japanese, but maybe old people have low voices in Japan...

Though, Hatchi isn't old...

The only Japanese voice I like more than its English counterpart is Kagome. Kagome sounds too whiney and high-pitched in English. Kagome sounds braver in Japanese than she does in English, too, and her anger is more convincing.

Arabian kind of... irritates me, cuz I have lived in Dubai/Arabia for 6 years, and I had to LEARN the language all that time, plus the teachers were nasty cuz they wouldn't stop screaming. All I remember now is how to say bear, hurry, and 5...

I offically HATE the English dub now, esspecially Bankotsu's voice. Okay, if he were in some hentai, then sure he's got the right voice but he sounds like he's having sex in my opinion. Seriously, does he have to honestly have heavy breathing all the time? I mean, just listen carefully to the dub and you'll see my point.

Then what was I watching? O__o Must've been a fandub then... Oh well, whoever did that fandub was pretty mice to do it for people like me. I used to have it like last year from limewire which then was gone after my hard-drive died.
I guess I fell in love with some fan-dub someone decided to do.

Ah well, the fan dubbers did a job so good that it made me convinced that it was real. >> Then again, I am pretty naive.

Have there ever been Russian dubs?

If so, I shall immediatly like them :]

TeresaN504 - October 2, 2007 08:41 PM (GMT)
I've watched the Latin dub before and I closed it after like, half a minute......>>
It was strange........

kagome122885 - October 31, 2007 06:02 AM (GMT)
I prefer the English dub, as it is a language I understand. Inuyasha's voice really fits his attitude, Kagome's voice really fits her personality, and makes her sound enthusiastic. Miroku's voice really gives that comical feel, and Sango's voice gives her that "demon slayer" type personality.

Rin_Sama - October 31, 2007 08:04 PM (GMT)
I'd say the english and Japanese cuz Richard Ian Cox Kicks ass as Inuyasha and Kappai Yamaguchi does too but if I had to choos between the tow of them I would have to say the Japanese version is best just cuz tis original and Kappai does a a better growl than Richard

Blah - November 19, 2007 09:21 AM (GMT)
German dub. It's my new anti-drug. Though it's near impossible to find clips of it that are a decent length. I've only been able to hear Inu and Kags speak in actual sentences in German. Though, if you listen to it, they actually use Japanese words in the German dub. Like, InuYasha used the word hanyou, and Sango called Kagome "Kagome-chan." The comical thing about using an honorific, though, is that I'm pretty sure they don't even do that in it's original Japanese dub. The only time they use chan and kun and things like that are in the manga. The German dub pronounces the names the best, too (next to the original, of course).

Oh, and Richard Ian Cox totally pwns Kappei Yamaguchi's growl. But I loves them both! Especially Kappei because he does L's voice in DeathNote (seriously, he does!!)

anime dragon - November 19, 2007 10:43 PM (GMT)
I've only heard the English and Japanese versions, and they're pretty much tied. Kikyo's voice in English souds really nice, like she's depressed, and Sango's was good too. I thought that InuYasha's voice was pretty low... which made him sound much older...

I'm looking for the French dub right now
