Title: Oh for the love of God...
Saku-Tatsuya - October 15, 2007 11:08 PM (GMT)
Alright, so I have read the manga over again (volumes 1-28) and watched the anime once more for the hell of it, but there was something about this series that I have like, never noticed before. Like for instance, in both anime and manga it appears as though most of the characters don't have any common sense whatsoever. I don't blame most of the characters (because of the time period they lived in), but I do, however, blame Kagome. I mean, come on, she seems to have the LEAST common sense (on anime, she seems to have more in the manga) out of pretty much everyone. So yeah, she went from a good old modern life style to the feudal life style... blah blah blah, but come on, wouldn't she at least have a little more common sense then everyone else in the damn series?
I mean, for example, all those times when something bad happens the Inu Gang automatically blame a demon for the cause (and sometimes, it's not even a demon's doing) or they blame Naraku (well, I admit to this point, who could blame them since Naraku causes pretty much 99.9% of the series' problems.) But I mean, they always seem to jump to conclusions about what may have happened.
Also, around the Shichinintai Arc. Okay, I admit that they've shown at least a little bit of common sense but what got me all "WTF??" was when Inuyasha left his friends with Renkotsu. I mean seriously, why the hell would Inuyasha leave his friends with someone he barely knows? I mean, sure, Renkotsu looks like amonk in Inuyasha's eyes but didn't it seem suspicious to him when there were no other monks around? And would he find it odd that most of the other monks who were there were... dead and Renkotsu was miracously the only one alive? Seriously, that just got me thinking whether or not the characters have any common sense whatsoever.
And then, all those times our Band of seven friends have led Inuyasha and friends into a "trap" for a battle to the death. >> For one, I think that by that time the Inu gang would've predicted a trap and doing the whole trap thing would be useless and two, I think the seven should've came up with some sort of back up plan if say they were about to be defeatet. I don't quite know what they could've came up with but whatever. I still think that those were the only flaws on that season.
Anyways, that's my rant that I've been holding for a pretty damn long time. :/ It really was beginning to bug me on how the characters were so stupid sometimes while I read the manga and watched the anime version again. Pretty much, that was how everything looked in my eyes. Things may look different in yours, but meh.
If this is a repeat topic, then I don't really care. It probably is a dead topic now.

wow...ur right
you say kagome has no common sense?
been noticing that right off.
the author probably puts stuff like that in there because she wants the plot to go along so she forces it in >___<

Yeah..
But you know, it is possible to have a good plot and have at least all the character have 50% of common sense.

*nods in agreement*
I have noticed that too tis getting worse s the manga goes on
kikyophobia - October 17, 2007 10:36 PM (GMT)
I see a flaw here. Why would Kagome have more sense in an era that isn't her own? Just because her era is more advanced doesn't mean she has all the knowledge she needs to get along well in the Feudal Era. I expect the others to have more common sense about the happenings in that era due to the fact that they've lived in it for so long, just like I expect Kagome to have more sense in her era because she grew up there.
like_light_to_the_flies - October 17, 2007 10:51 PM (GMT)
I never saw a problem with her common sense, but her lack of true human emotions at the beginning confounded me.
I mean, she get's dragged into a well by a giant deranged woman-centipede. She gets out the well and is, what, 500 years in the past? Then, she get's her side cut up and a giant pearl falls out of the wound. Then she meets Inuyasha, a half-dog demon pinned to a tree by a mystic arrow 50 years earlier.
Now what would your reaction be?
"HOLY SHIT! LET ME GO BACK HOME! I WANNA GO HOME! I WANNA GO HOME!!!"
But, nope. Not for her. She just acts all calm and mellow, like it's no big deal.
GET OUT! NOT WHAT WOULD HAPPEN!
TeresaN504 - October 17, 2007 10:59 PM (GMT)
I agree.
The only ones that seem to be smart are Naraku,Renkoutsu,Sesshoma
ru,and Miroku (at times).
The rest are like.........almost clueless!

Oh wow...out off ALL the animes you've watched where they wear the same clothes after they're torn to peices, Inuyasha stood out for you the most eh? I'm not defending...just found that weird...
And they weren't always 'magically rested' Inuyasha had wounds he had to wait to heal for more than a day. Duh...the time where Sesshoumaru had put his hand through his stomach and Inuyasha couldn't move around without opening the hole back up. That wasnt know filler either, he was like that in the manga too.
Talk what you know.

"HOLY ****! LET ME GO BACK HOME! I WANNA GO HOME! I WANNA GO HOME!!!"
But, nope. Not for her. She just acts all calm and mellow, like it's no big deal.

And you know that episode with Yura of the hair at the beginning? There were all of these corpses just sprawled about, all decapitated. At that point, a normal person would've vomited and cried or something!!

Though Inu's reaction was absolutely perfect. In the manga, all he did was walk up to a strand of hair coated in blood and tap it, letting little droplets of crimson goo just kinda fly off, all the while commenting about how the mound of headless cadavers just sorta "blundered into the hair." If InuYasha(anime) was anything like it was in the manga, I'm sure fans wouldn't have given up on it so quickly. Plus, Kagome's reaction in the manga, while not realistic, was much more convincing than it was in the anime.

Kikyou can be dum at times too... It takes her so damn long to shoot an arrow
In eps 124, Naraku was, like, 5 feet away from her and she wouldn't shoot the arrow at him...
And in eps 167, Nakago is right in front of her, and she stands there for, like, minutes or something...

What would've made the series at least worth watching in some way is having at least Kagome killed off in some tragic/gruesome matter.

Kohaku could have died, and it would have made it a lot more interesting, but instead he lived. It just...urks me. It could of had so much more potential if he would have died. Sango would be driven more to kill Naraku, along with Inuyasha and Kagome. Just like...right then and there or something..>__> I dunno, could just be me though |
*Nods in agreement*
I'm gonna have to agree with you. What would've made the series at least worth watching in some way is having at least Kagome killed off in some tragic/gruesome matter.

with the latest chapter and stuff, it would be interesting to see Kagome die.

I've heard people saying "What would be the point of Kagome's death when she's so close to finding her true powers?" but I think there might be the point; it may motivate Inuyasha to go into a bloody rampage and actually kill Naraku (or something like that).

And they say death doesn't solve anything. -__-
Stupid people. If the one you love dies, you'll get more strength to avenge their deaths.

No your right Amaya your not in love... YOUR HELPLESSLY IN LOVE!!! oh burn..
InuYasha got very boring, it was just the same plot show after show... Find demon, kill demon... oh and sometimes if we were lucky here's how the plot would go... kagome kidnapped, demon killed, kagome found. But if we were really lucky the plot would be... sesshoumaru fights inuyasha... you know the rest!

you forgot about the sword upgrades that Inuyasha doesn't even use anymore....

It seems to be too much of a hassle for Inu group to use Tesseiga updates. >.>
To me, Inuyasha is basically DBZ with good graphics and such.
