All right. Here's one of my favorite fics. I wrote this a few years back and have yet to finish it, but I'm very close to the end. So I can post this chapters very soon. Here's the summary. Let me know if you're interested or not an then I'll post the first chapter.

Summary:

Princess Serenity Linara and her friends are sent on a mission to protect the people of Hyrule from an impending danger. Serenity, excited and impatient, leaves without her mother’s consent and meets a boy who she is instantly infatuated with. When she returns to the land sooner than she planned, she must conceal her identity to impede her new friends from discovering her. A web of white lies avalanches and in the end and hurts Linara’s friendship with everyone.

Meanwhile, she has just discovered that there are a few new Sailor Senshi wandering around this world, and it is up to her to find them and help them awaken their powers. Also, Serenity must deal with the insanity that is her sister, her judgmental cousin, and her mother’s strict idea of honor. With so many things, a girl could burst! But with the help of her guardian angel and her friends, Serenity learns that she must stop being so selfish and immature, and try a bit harder to be responsible. Will she save the day, fix tarnished relationships, enlightened obsurd ideals, and win love all at once? Read to find out!

So if you can guess, it's a LinkxOC type story. Let me know if you're interested or not, please. ^^

Lady ZeiKumi - November 15, 2007 12:12 AM (GMT)
Thanks. I wrote this a fews years back so I'll have to do a little editing. I've already finished fixing up the first chapter as much as I can so here you go! Enjoy. ^^

BTW, I guess I should put a disclaim. As you might have guess, I don't own Sailor Moon nor The Legend of Zelda series...sadly. I do, however, own Serenity/Linara, her sister and friends, her mother, the enemies, and the plot. That's about it. =D Also, sorry if it's a little long. ^^;

The Legend of Zelda: The Girl from Another World

Chapter 1: The Princess and Company

Peace befell over the universe, and harmony shone over the many different worlds. Perhaps the happiest place in the entire galaxy, however, could be found on a civilization known as the Moon Kingdom. There, the current queen, Destiny, reigned with a pure heart.

For this Queen, honor was her top priority, one in which every descendant should leave their mark. Princess Serenity Linara was the 14 year-old great granddaughter of the Eternal Sailor Moon, also known as Usagi.

Serenity could hardly understand why her mother seemed to care about reputation more than anything else. Serenity has trained since she was young in the style of the honorable Sailor Senshi. Along the way, she has had help from those closest to her and the Moon Kingdom Royal Family.

Serenity’s cousin older cousin, 15-year-old Aya Alisian, was a mature young girl, who could seem cold and distant at times. Her sister, 11-year-old Sazumi, was her opposite. She was playful and innocent, beholding her strong power. Then there was Yamyra, Serenity’s best friend, who was her same age. Yamyra was sweet care free, much like her Princess.

Lastly, there was Diamond, Serenity’s 10-year-old sister, who was still in the process of becoming a full fledged Senshi. She was mysteriously born with a diamond on her forehead, which shone from within the coverage of her bangs. Much like her friend, Patience, she was high maintenance and was known to be easily distracted from her job. However, with the help of her sister, she was finding her way.

There were many things these talented girls were trained for. Nevertheless, the hugest adventure of courage and strength was just about to befall them.

-----------

…Meanwhile…

“I will destroy your pathetic little world!”

A malevolent voice echoed through a dark and barren wasteland. It was once a beautiful world, green and flourishing. Queen Destiny knew this wasn’t her home…but instead a world completely unaware of what this evil force could do.

Her eyes shot open. She had been meditating in the Celestial Moon Shrine. She could hardly sleep, for the reason that she was besieged with nightmares of sheer destruction and anguish. She gazed up into the blue sky above her, which could be seen through a window in the ceiling of the shrine. She closed her eyes and prayed…for answers…for knowledge and the power to help.

She held her hands to her heart, whispering a soft prayer, until a voice echoed in her head. Her eyes opened once more, with a gasp. "Hyrule!!"

...Elsewhere…

Serenity sat at her beau, brushing her long blonde hair. It was nearly floor length, about a foot away from it.

“How do you think I should style my hair today, Fluff?” she asked her gray cat, who sat atop her dresser.

Fluff jumped off the dresser and onto Serenity’s lap. “I love your hair either way you wear it, Princess.” She purred and amused herself with the shiny strands.

“It looks more like straw, if you asked me, Serenity.” Serenity and Fluff looked toward the door and saw Diamond there, rolling with laughter.

“And who asked you?” Serenity pronounced loudly. She grabbed the cushion from underneath her and hurled it at Diamond. She ran over to Serenity’s large bed and took cover on its safe side. The cushion fell harmlessly to the carpet on the floor. She stood up and stuck her tongue out.

“Missed me!”

Serenity rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, turning back around to face the mirror. “Yeah. Well you just stay over there!” she sighed. “In fact, get the heck out!”

"Make me!!" Diamond retored.

"Gladly..."

Diamond and Serenity stomped over to each other. They stopped when they were only a few inches away from each other. Without another word, they began to grab onto each other, grunting and pulling hair and scratching.

“Serenity! You scratched my cheek!”

“You poked me in the eye, Diamond! It’s revenge!”

“You’re going down!”

“No! You are!”

Just then, Destiny was on her way to her daughter’s room. From the opposite side of the door, she could hear loud thumping noises.

“Princesses!” called Fluff, with her eyes larger than usual. “You need to stop! Someone is going to get hurt…! …Oh, forget it!” She growled with exasperation and lay on a pillow that had been flung from across the room.

“What’s going on?” yelled Destiny as she burst into the room. She searched the room with her eyes and found Diamond and Serenity on the floor, each latched on to the other’s hair.

“Hi, Ma!” they both said sweetly smiling, not even moving.

The Queen sighed. “Serenity, you and I have to talk…”

“I DIDN”T DO IT!”

----------------

…Minutes later…

“Really?” Serenity asked slowly with soft eyes.

Destiny told her daughter everything about her vision in the shrine. “You have all trained very well,” she explained, as they walked through the palace garden. “I’m proud of you all…But I fear even that won’t be enough…You’ll need to fight harder, no matter what.”

Destiny leaned against a shady tree. “We have to ensure the survival of all those innocent people. I don’t think I could live with the guilt if anything happened to them and knowing there was something I could have done.”

Serenity nodded and looked up toward the sky. “That’s true.”

Serenity and her mother walked over to the shrine. “I’ve been preparing you and your friends every since you were young in the case that this scenario would ever occur,” clarified Destiny as the stepped into the humble temple. “I am confident and can state with certainty that you won’t disappoint or dishonor anyone.”

Destiny led her daughter to a room in the back. There, she shut the door and walked over to a dresser and pulled out a heart shaped compact from a drawer. Holding it before Serenity, she opened it, revealing a glowing pink stone in the shape of a heart.

“This is the compact I use for training,” said Serenity, grabbing it. “…To transform into Sailor Moon.”

The Queen nodded. “It is…however there are more powers to this stone than those you’ve seen and experienced.”

“Honestly?”

“You haven’t learned them yet,” whispered her mother, gently taking it into her hands.

She held it up and pointed the glowing light of the crystal toward an empty space on wall. Serenity blinked twice when she witnessed the light transform into a portal. She went to it and slowly looked inside. There she saw it. Hyrule and its lake, the portal behind a tree, perfectly secluded. Serenity smiled at her mother.

“It’s so beautiful,” she beamed, gently. “I’d love to help in anyway I can.”

Destiny nodded and slowly closed the portal and the compact. “I expected nothing less, Serenity,” she smiled.

“I want to go there again, Mother,” she inquired. “Can I go?”

“Now?”

“Yes, please?”

“Patience, my Princess,” Destiny assured her daughter with a gentle pat on the shoulder. “You’ll go there when the time is right.”

“And when is that?”

“When I say it is!” the Queen replied with a scalding and surprising tone.

Serenity flinched, and her mother proceeded to put the compact back to its place and departed.

Serenity stared at the drawer with hungry, yearning eyes. This was too tempting. Serenity had never been anywhere outside of the castle…and now she was venturing out into a new world. Her curiosity was unbearable. Serenity was determined to go for herself…sooner than later.

---------------

Well, that's all for now. Let me know what you think and if you're still interested. I will warn you though, most of my chapters get pretty long so I might have to divide a few. Anyway, I hope you liked the story so far. ^^ Thanks for reading!!

:victory: :kittylove: :cheer: Excellent! Perfect!

FLAWLESS VICTORY! ^__^

Shippo: I agree with Queen Destiny. Serenity should wait before she goes to Hyrule to see my friend Link. ^^ *See Patriot's FanFic "A Green Clothed Warrior")

Sonic: *sighs and shskes his head* She's not going to heed her mother's warnings to wait until the proper time to leave.

Sylt: *sighs* -_- Taking something that you are still learning to use just to get someplace is wrong not to mention dangerous.. :hehe: Good thing I haven't done anything so reckless.

Shippo and Sonic: *glares at Sylt* Oh really?

Shippo: -_- What about the jewel shard?

Sylt: :chidorisd: Jewel Shard?

Sonic: -_- Or using a Magic Mirror portal to get to Wonderland to meet Alice.

Sylt: :hehe: Yeah... About that...

Any way....

Please continue when you may, Lady ZeiKumi. *bows*

I'm not so much of a Salior Moon fan, but I actually like this. The Legend of Zelda stuff is going to be wicked.

Lady ZeiKumi - April 2, 2008 06:47 PM (GMT)
Finally, here's chapter 2! I had to revise it a bit, since the plot is going to be different from what I originally had planned. And as I read through my chapters, I realized some characters might be a bit OOC so I've been trying to fix that up a bit. Please read and review and don't be afraid to give me criticism. That's what I'm looking for!

Chapter 2: To the New World

“You’re going now?” Diamond questioned her sister for about the third time.
Serenity quickly shushed her. “You have to be quiet!”

Diamond nodded and covered her mouth. They had just finished today’s training and were sitting in the Courtyard, eating lunch on a marble bench. With them sat Yamyra, Aya, and Sazumi.

“Are you sure you want to go?” asked Yamyra. “If the Queen finds out, she’ll hang you out to dry.”

“That’s why none of you can say a word!” Serenity quickly responded. “If you don’t say anything…and cover me well…then we’ll all be fine!”

“You say that like it’s a good thing,” said Aya, rolling her eyes. “This is irresponsible. If you go, it’ll be my liability to tell Aunt Destiny.”

“Aww, come on, Aya,” Sazumi begged her big sister. “I don’t see anything wrong. She’s not going to do anything that could endanger our mission.”

“You’re only a child, Sazumi,” pronounced Aya, “You don’t understand what she could do.”

“You’re a child, too!”

“I’ll cover for you, Princess…” smiled Yamyra.

“What?” Aya shouted and whipped around to face her. “Yamyra, think clearly. You seriously can’t.”

“Come on,” she said with a confident smirk. “Yeah, we might get in trouble, but only if we get caught. What harm could Princess possibly do? And besides, maybe she can find out more about Hyrule so that we’ll be better prepared on how to blend in.”

Sazumi nodded her head. “I may be a ‘child’ but even I can see that you have a point. I wouldn’t like to stand out.” She nodded. “I’ll hold my tongue, too.”

The girls all looked toward Aya. “What?”

“You have to promise you won’t say a word,” said Diamond, leaning over to table and toward her cousin. “We’ve all sworn into secrecy and you should, too!”

“I don’t have to do anything!” Aya snapped, but took a deep breath and then shrugged. “But I’ll stay shut for as much as I can…but you have to come back that same day or else.”

Serenity nodded and smiled. “I can do that!” She giggled. “Thanks a ton, girls! I owe you one!”

Diamond clapped and turned toward her. “Can I have your room while you’re gone?”

“No…”

---------

…Later on…

Serenity dressed in her training outfit and tossed on a white cloak over it. She had her hair tied back in a tight ponytail and off of her face. She quickly snuck out of her bedroom and ran over to the Celestial Moon Shrine. She took extra care to remove the compact from its location in the drawer.

“I’ve got it!” she said excitedly. With a deep breath, she opened it and held it up. Much to her dismay, nothing even happened. Serenity looked at it with a raised eyebrow. She sighed and scratched her head.

“How do I get it to glow?”

She shook it but all remained the same, tapped it but was unsuccessful, then finally threw it across the room in extreme annoyance. All of a sudden, the compact began bouncing off of the walls, here and there like a pinball. It knocked papers off of the wall and a plastic bottle off a desk.

Serenity ducked for cover and braced herself, narrowly missing getting clunked on the head by the rock hard compact. Finally, it came to a stop next to here. With a shaky sigh of relief, she picked it up. “Please…turn on?” she cried.

With that, it glowed onto an empty space on the wall. Serenity’s eyes grew wide as a drop of sweat hung from the back of her head. She shook it off and moved on.

Just then she heard birds chirping. She looked toward the open portal. “Wow…”
She walked up to it and slowly put her arm into it. She stuck it out and looked at it. Positive that it was safe and secluded, she took a deep breath.

“I can do this…”she whispered to herself. “Come on, Serenity…now’s the time…”
Serenity closed her eyes and quickly stepped through it. She felt a cool breeze blow by and the warmth of the sunshine on her face. The portal behind her swiftly closed.

“I made it!” she told herself. “I’m here!” She ran over the bridges above Lake Hylia and stopped on sturdy land. “This place is so beautiful.”

She gaped into her reflection within the lake’s calm waters. Her hair was a bit messy from her struggle with the compact. She cupped water in her hands and ran her hands over the top of her head, flattening the stands of hair. When she finished, she stood up above the water. She sighed calmly. “I think I’m going to explore now. This’ll be fun!”

Serenity walked into a small ranch in the center of a large field. “I’m so tired…” she heaved as she trailed. “Princesses like me don’t believe in walking like this…”
Just as she entered she heard a soft voice humming a tune. She walked up to a barn and leaned against it to watch. Serenity saw a girl brushing a red horse’s mane. It was a uniquely colored horse, and one that caught Serenity’s attention immediately. Most of the horses back on the moon were white.

The girl noticed the new girl standing beside the barn and smiled warmly. “Hello,” she greeted with a wave.

Serenity felt welcomed and slowly walked over to her and took a better look at the horse. “This is a beautiful horse that you have. I’ve never seen anything like her. What’s her name?”

“Thank you. Her name is Epona,” the red headed girl answered grinning at the blonde girl. “She’s one of my favorites. I’m glad you like her, too.”

“This is a nice place,” Serenity spoke as she placed her arms behind her back and looked around with her eyes. “Is this place yours?”

“Yes. Well, actually it’s my father’s ranch. But we both do our share of work, so I suppose it’s also mine.”

“That’s great.” The Princess turned toward the girl again. “My name is Serenity,” she said and bowed in courtesy. She may be of royalty, but her mother taught her to always show respect to others, no matter who they were. “It’s nice to meet you!”

“My name is Malon,” she introduced herself and bowed as well. “Thank you for coming. I love having visitors here. ”

“It’s no problem at all,” Serenity said sweetly and then looked toward Epona again. She truly was an amazing horse in Serenity’s eyes. “She’s so beautiful. Is it alright if I pet her??”

“Of course it is,” nodded Malon, smiling welcomingly. “She’s very friendly.” Malon watched as Serenity hesitated before slowly running her fingers through the mare’s soft, white mane. “You love horses, don’t you, Serenity?”

“Yes, I do,” she said nodding, jumping slightly when the horse suddenly sneezed. “I have a lot back home…” At the end of that statement, Serenity quickly caught herself. Oops…she mentally told herself. Mentioning her home could risk the revelation of her secret. Fortunately, Malon didn’t question her about this.

“Would you like to ride her?” Malon asked, grabbing on to the horse’s saddle. “She’s very gentle…”

“Oh no,” Serenity gasped shook her head. She cackled nervously and scratched the back of her head, backing up a she spoke. “I really shouldn’t. I mean…I pretty exhausted. Maybe some other time…” Her powder white skin began to glow bright red.

Malon shrugged but smiled. “I see. Well, if you’d like to freshen up a bit, then I’ll take you inside…Come this way, please.” She led Serenity to her home by the hand.

“Forgive me if I sound rude,” the red headed girl said as they stepped into the house. “But you don’t look like you’re from around here, Serenity.” It was an obvious fact. Serenity lacked the pointed ears and the powerful facial structure that the Hylians and the other inhabitants of this planet had.

“I’m not…”she stuttered, trying to come up with a good explanation. “I’m…a traveler. I’ve been to many places and I’ve seen many people. I’m a bit of a wanderer.”

“How lucky... I wish I could travel myself,” said Malon, taking a seat at a small table, while gesturing for Serenity to do the same. “There’s a beautiful world out there and there are still so many things I don’t know about it…”

Serenity shook her head with a smile. “Maybe some day you’ll be able to. When you get a bit older, perhaps you’ll be able to go anywhere you’d like.”

Serenity stood up and pulled out a sparkling, dark pink rose. For some reason, she felt compelled to help this girl. From deep in her heart, she could feel a tint of loneliness wafting out of Malon’s marine eyes. “Here…” she held it up to the girl.
Malon’s eyes glittered the reflection of the rose. “Wow, it’s wonderful!”

“It’s called a moonlit rose,” Serenity explained, scratching the back of her head, “I…um…found it along a path on my way here. I want you to take it. That way, if you ever get to travel you can pick one and think of me…or better yet, give me one in return.”

Malon’s face beamed with happiness and she took the flower and smelled it’s dreamy fragrance. “Thank you. You’re very nice, Serenity.”

“For the people of its country, the moonlit rose represents a variety of things. Amongst them are: love, faith, luck…but in our case…friendship.”

The girls giggled happily with each other. It was nice to have made a new friend out of the blue. Just then there was a knock on the door. Malon stood up off her seat and headed toward the door. “Oh, hi!” she said to the new guest. “You came for a visit?”

“Yeah,” he said. “I wasn’t particularly busy today so I decided to come by.”

“You’re timing couldn’t be any better…”

“Why is that?”

“I’ve got someone really interesting I’d like you to meet.”

Link’s eyebrows furrowed. “And who’s that?”

“Serenity,” Malon called brightly, entering the room. “I’ve got another friend for you.”

“Great! Bring ‘em in!” Serenity replied cheerfully. “Who is it?”

“This is my friend, Link…” she gestured toward the door, motioning him to enter.

Serenity gasped under her breath. She was not allowed to converse to non-royalty, particularly males. Verbalizing to girls wasn’t so wrong, but talking to any single man was taboo. This was perhaps the first she could ever speak to who wasn’t a servant or a Prince.

“Hi…” she said very quietly, suddenly feeling shy.

“Hey,” he smiled politely and nodded in courtesy.

“Serenity is such a nice girl,” Malon elucidated. “We just met but we’re already great friends. Right, Serenity?”

Serenity nodded with a smile. She took the opportunity to look out the window. It’s still early, she thought. I can stay here for a while longer. I don’t even want to leave, either. I love it here already.

“Well, if you don’t mind, Malon,” Serenity began, as she stood up, “I’m going to explore more of this fantastic country. Would you like to come with me? I need someone to explain this place for me…”

Malon shook her head sadly. “I’m sorry, but I can’t. I wish I could go, but I’m loaded with chores.”

“Oh…” Serenity said slowly, feeling disappointed. “I’m sorry. Maybe some other time?”

“Sure,” Malon nodded. “But hey…why don’t you go with Serenity, Link? I’m positive she wouldn’t mind.”

Link and Serenity simultaneously looked at each other and then looked away.
Serenity turned her head before he could see her blush.

“I’ll go…” Link said. “If it’s all right with her.”

Serenity looked up at him, with the color still streaked across her face. “I have no problem with that. I’d love to get to know you.”

---------

…Hyrule Field…

“So, you’re a traveler?”

“Yes I am.”

Link was riding on Epona, with Serenity trailing beside them, on foot. “Are you sure you don’t want a ride?” Link asked her for the 5th time.

Serenity shook her head. “Oh, I’m sure. I’m too tired to ride on horse.”

“I‘m surprised.”

“About what?”

“You say you’re a traveler…but you’ve never been on a horse?”

“Yes I have,” she retorted and crossed her arms. “Once…on a black horse named Diablo. And that was it.”

“You’re afraid, aren’t you?”

Serenity turned red and shook her head furiously. “No! Don’t be silly.”

“What happened to you and Diablo?”

Serenity shivered as she remembered. Just that year, one of her assistants had gotten a new horse, Diablo. Serenity, being so cheerful and naïve, wanted to try riding on him. She hopped on and all seemed good…until someone or something threw a rock that startled the dark stallion. Without warning, he dashed across the yard, with Serenity holding on for dear life and bumping and down violently. He wandered around in circles, kicking while the flailing Princess barely kept her grip. Finally, he came to stop, catapulting Serenity like a cannon ball, right into a giant stack of hay, used for feeding the other horses.

Serenity shook her head and looked to the ground with shame. “Nothing too serious…”

“So,” Link inquired. “You’re afraid of horses.”

“I said I’m not!”

Serenity sped up, leaving Link and his horse behind. He slowed down and hopped off of Epona. He went up to Serenity. “Fine…I’ll walk with you instead.”
Serenity looked over to him and grinned. “You don’t have to.”

“No, but I want to,” he clarified. “I don’t mind. I’m interested in learning more about you, Serenity. We’re both interested in getting to know each other, am I right?”

Serenity was about to respond but nearly screamed when she saw the sun coming down. She realized she spent too much time away from home. “Uh oh!” she shrieked. “It’s late! I have to go!” She turned around and ran toward the lake.

“Wait!” Link called. “I’ll give you a ride!”

Serenity looked back. “I’m good! You don’t have to!”

“Oh, come on!”

Serenity stopped and looked back at Link, who was now approaching her. She giggled nervously. “Seriously, Link. It’s not about that. It’s just…uh! …I can’t explain! I have no time.”

She tried to run, but Link called for her again. “Serenity! Are you going to come back?”

Serenity stopped, looked back at him and smiled. “I’m sorry. But under certain circumstances, we probably won’t be able to.”

Within his mind, Link sighed disappointedly.

“But I’ll try to find you next time I come around…I promise.”

Link smiled up at her. “I’ll be waiting for you…for when you return.”

Serenity nodded with a bold grin. “And I’ll find you.” With that, Serenity smiled and ran off. Within a few minutes, she returned to the Celestial Moon Shrine.
Serenity snuck back into her room through her balcony. The lights were off and she grinned victoriously. “Mission accomplished.” Just then, the lights flashed on, and Serenity nearly jumped out of her skin.

“What took you so long?” asked Diamond.

“You scared me, you freak!”

Diamond went up to her and crossed her arms, encircling her elder sister. “So, what happened?”

“I made new friends,” Serenity explained happily. She glided toward her bed, spun around, and then threw herself onto her soft, pink sheets. “And I meet him…”

“Him?” Diamond repeated with a hint of excitement. “You met a boy?”

Serenity sat up and folded her hands on her lap. “What are you talking about?”

Diamond cackled and slapped her knee. “You’re weird but funny. Anyway, we all did a swell job in covering you. Mama didn’t suspect a thing!”

Serenity clapped and grabbed her sister in a tight bear hug. She sighed and continued. “It was wonderful. I can’t wait to go back…I have somebody waiting for me…”

New chapter! The girls are finally ready to head off to Hyrule and get the mission started. Read on to find out a bit more about the main enemy. Enjoy and don't forget to give me feedback. ^___^

Chapter 3:
Preparations

“Serenity…Serenity, wake up!”

Serenity slowly opened her heavy eyes and sat up. Beside her bed she found her mother standing above her with an anxious look on her face. “Mother!” Serenity gasped, quite startled. “What’s wrong?”

“Something terrible has happened,” her mother responded slowly. “Hyrule was attacked early this morning, Serenity.”

The Princess’s eyes grew wide. “What?!”

“I know who did it. Dysis is behind this all…”

“Dysis?”

“Yes…”

“Who’s that?”

The Queen slowly walked out onto her daughter’s balcony. Serenity followed behind, not sure about what her mother was going to tell her.

“Dysis is my stepsister,” she explained. “Shortly after my father passed away, mother wanted to remarry. She was still quite young and wanted to have at least one more child, though that was and still is strictly forbidden. Regardless…my mother moved forward and did just that…and accepted Dysis as her own.

After my mother and my stepfather deceased, Dysis demanded that she be queen. Though she is older than me, she was considered only royalty by marriage and not by bloodline. That’s why I became Queen instead of her…and she has always envied me for that. Her jealousy eventually grew into hatred and now look what’s happened… ”

“And now what…?” sighed Serenity.

“Dysis will use her powers for retribution, and I’d expect nothing less…”

“But she won’t be able to, Mother!” Serenity said with assurance. “The girls and I can stop her.” Destiny looked at her daughter wide eyed.

“This is what we’ve been preparing for all our lives, and it would be a shame if we couldn’t do anything about her!”

Destiny nodded with agreement. “While I know that is true, you should still be honest, and I should be, too. Dysis has powers unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Are you convinced you can handle this?”

Serenity sighed and lowered her head before looking up at her mother. “Yes I can. You’ll need to ask the girls themselves if they’re ready…”

“Of course we are!” Diamond shouted entering the room with her friends.
Yamyra nodded. “We’re very ready. We can do this!”

Serenity turned to her mother. “I told you, Ma.”

Destiny smiled at the girls. “Do you all agree?”

Sazumi shrugged. “I guess.”

“What do you mean you ‘guess’?” asked Diamond. “We can do it with no doubt. Right, Aya?”

Aya nodded. “We can…”

Destiny heaved a happy sigh. “Thank you girls. It’s settled then. You’ll have to go as soon as possible though. We can’t take any chances in waiting.”

“I agree…”nodded Aya.

“You’ll have to go tomorrow,” said the Queen. The girls’ eyes burst out.

“Tomorrow?” repeated Sazumi. “That soon, Aunt Destiny?”

“It’ll have to be, Sazumi,” said the Queen. “Didn’t you say you were ready...?”
Serenity nodded excitedly. “We did and we are.”

“It’s early,” Destiny said looking out of the window. “We’ll use the rest of the day to train for a bit more and then we’ll meet again at the end of the day to prepare. We have to be certain that you’re as ready as you possibly can be.”

…Later that Day…
“What a work out!” shouted Diamond as she dragged herself into her sister’s bedroom, with Serenity following behind.

“I’m so tired…” she collapsed onto her bed.

Diamond took as seat with a deep breath. She looked over to Serenity. “Sister…can you tell me how it was over there?”

“Over where?”

“You know!” Diamond said chuckling. “In Hyrule! What’s it like?”

“It’s almost like Earth,” Serenity explained, sitting up. “It was beautiful. The people are very nice and it’s so peaceful. It reminded me of home and Grandpa’s kingdom, Elision. Remember that place?”

“Oh yes!” Diamond confirmed. “Elision is like heaven on Earth…” She swooned as she remembered how relaxing it was to visit her grandfather’s old Kingdom, now ruled by their uncle.

“It didn’t get the chance to explore the cities, but the lake was wonderful and the view of the mountain in the sunset was marvelous!” Serenity sighed. “The only thing that surpassed the magnificent place itself was…him…”

Diamond smiled and cocked an eyebrow. “Him? Who’s him? You’ve got some explaining to do!”

“There’s no ‘him,’” she calmly answered.

“Oh, you’re lying and you know it,” Diamond said, desperately trying to pry into her sister’s business. “Your eyes are sparkling so much its blinding. It’s the same expressed you wore the day that prince from the Kingdom of Callista came to visit!”

Redness streaked across Serenity’s face, like the colors in the sky during sunset. “Diamond!” she growled with a warning tone.

“What’s his name?” she chirped triumphantly. “Elizer was it?”

BOP!

“Eat pillow, fur ball!”

Diamond levered the soft pillow that Serenity threw off of her face. “The truth hurts, doesn’t it?”

Serenity folded her arms across her chest and scoffed with her nose in the air. “My fist…that’s what gonna hurt you, pipsqueak…”

“Come on!” Diamond pleaded, on her knees as Serenity approached.

“No!” shouted Serenity, wiping hair from her face. “It’s none of your concern!”

“Tell me!”

“No! Because knowing you, you’ll use it at my expense when ever you need it!”

“No I won’t! Not this time! Please, Serenity! Please, please, please? Don’t you trust me? …Don’t answer that please…but please tell me!”

Serenity rolled her eyes but finally submitted. “Fine, Diamond…”

“HOORAY!”

------
…Minutes later…

“That’s so cool!” Diamond giggled, clutching onto a pink pillow.

Serenity shook her head. She explained everything that had happened.

“But you do recall what mother told us, right?” asked Diamond with concern.

Serenity knew very well. “Yeah. We need to be very vigilant about revealing our secret.”

“Exactly!” said Diamond, tossing the pillow to the ground. “But that would mean you’d need to disguise yourself again, wouldn’t it? Maybe with a cool, new name.”

Diamond was actually making sense. Were pigs flying? Serenity knew that Link and Malon would be interested in learning more about her. The look in their eyes revealed it all. She’d definitely need a new identity, and that didn’t require a second thought.

“So,” Diamond said suddenly, pulling Serenity away from her thoughts, “what will your assumed name be?”

Serenity thought for a while. She needed a good name. One that was different from “Serenity’ in every way, yet one that wasn’t so different that Serenity couldn’t associate with it.

“I know exactly what my name should be!”

“Huh?”

“I was thinking about Juliet but I might have a hard time getting used to it,” Serenity explained. “So, the name I’m going to use my middle name, Linara, as my first name there!”

“Linara?” Diamond repeated, eyebrow up.

“Yeah!”

“Who on Luna middle named you?”

“Hey!” Serenity busted, almost offended. “Grandma did! It happens to be a very
pretty name, for your information!”

“I didn’t know that!”

“My dear, dear, ignorant Diamond…”

“Ignorant…”

“There is so much about me that you don’t know.”

“How much? What?”

“Like, Grandma used to call me Linara when I was younger.”

“Uh…didn’t know that…”

“Didn’t think so.”

Diamond sighed, sounding quite disappointed.

“What’s wrong with my name?” Serenity demanded, hands on her hips. “What? Did you really think I’d be dense enough to let you name me?”

Diamond nodded weakly. “Why don’t you want me to name you?”

“Because,” Serenity cleared with an annoyed look on her face, “knowing you and how you float on in your crazy little world, you’d give me an idiotic name!”

“No I wouldn’t,” she calmly protested.

“Then what?”

“Just the name of a flower…”

Serenity pursed her lips in wonder. “You mean along the lines of Rosemary, Lily, or Jasmine?”

Diamond huffed. “Oh, heck no! Far past those dumb old lines! I was thinking more along the border of names like Petunia and Forget-Me-Not!”

Bop!

Another pillow was flung across the chamber and collided with someone’s cranium. “Joking!”

--------
…The Next Morning…

“Good luck, my girls…” The Queen stood with the girls in the rose garden, beside a medium sized pedestal.

“How long will this take?” asked Sazumi.

“For as long it takes,” the Queen answered. “We can never be sure about when the time will come. We’d best be on our toes.”

Diamond embraced her mother. “I’ll miss you, Mama.”

“You’ll be just fine, Diamond,” Queen Destiny reassured her daughter. “I’ll be sure to call as often as I can…just to be sure that you’re all safe. The Crystal Heart compact will also enable me to speak to you every now and then. But you must be sure that no Hylian can hear you.” Destiny handed the compact to Serenity.

“I will use my power to disable you capability of returning here for the time being,” she announced. “We need to accomplish this mission as discreetly as possible. If it is discovered what is happening and the truths of my mother’s foolish actions are brought into unrestricted light, that would eternally scar our Royal Family with dishonor, and in the worst case, might even cause a quarrel between our civilizations.”

Serenity nodded, sighing nervously. “Agreed.”

The gateway behind them opened, revealing the lake from behind the thick tree.

“Don’t disappoint me, daughter,” her mother warned.

“I won’t, Mother,” Serenity, promised, with the girls nodding from around her.

The girls slowly stepped into the portal and it shut from behind them.

“It’s up to you now,” the Queen whispered to herself as her gaze flew to the dark sky above. “Don’t let us down…”

Chapter 4 (Part 1):
Meet Linara

“This is a dazzling lake!” chirped Sazumi, as she merrily skipped along the water’s edge. She loved water and enjoyed swimming very much. “Can we go in, Serenity?”

“Wait a second,” she answered. “Before we do anything I have to ask you girls a huge favor.”

“What is it?” all but Diamond asked. Diamond knew exactly what her sister had in mind.

“Don’t call me Serenity.”

The girls winced, bewildered. “Why?”

“You all remember when I first came here, am I right?” The girls nodded their heads. “If I run into the people I saw back then, they’d subsequently ask to know more about me,” Serenity elucidated. “I’m dresses differently and all I need is to eliminate my old name.”

She looked down at her pink sleeveless tank top, her black skirt, and black knee-high boots. She was clearly de-princessed.

“True,” agreed Aya. “But maybe you’d have no problem if you changed your name when you came here in the first place!”

Serenity sweat dropped. “Well…the thought didn’t occur to me.”

“Then what will your name be?” questioned Patience.

“Linara. My middle name.”

“Linara, huh?” repeated Sazumi. “That’s a bit atypical, but I guess I like that!”

“It’s ok, I guess,” Yamyra said, rubbing her chin slowly.

“Right!” exclaimed Diamond, with a perky grin. “It’s her choice to make…unless you girls much more prefer my names!” The girls all stared at Diamond with blank slates for faces. “What?”

Yamyra giggled nervously and looked at the rest off the girls, who continued to gape. “On second thought, I think I love the name. We’ll spare poor old…’Linara’ from the misery…”

Diamond bowed her head low, defeated from all sides. All the girls giggled, and then Sazumi finally spoke up. “I’m going swimming! Who’s coming?”

“ME!” Diamond squealed, raising her hands up in the air, waving them wildly.

“Okay!” laughed Sazumi, running off. “Last one is a rotten fish egg!” Diamond screamed out as she fell behind.

“First one in is the rotten fish egg!”

After a while, everyone was within the water, splashing around in the brisk liquid. Everyone except for Aya that is, who stood at the shore watching as the others merrily amused themselves.

“Woo-hoo!” Sazumi screamed at the top of her lungs, splashing a wave of water on Aya. Aya was drenched from head to toe and glared at her sister.

“Sazumi!” she yelled, a vein pumping and visible on her pallid forehead. “You’ve got some nerve!!” She wrung the water out of her long, dark purple hair. “You children are immature!” she barked, and then turned with a snarl. She almost died when she found Diamond standing there. Before she could even think, Diamond roughly pushed her into the lake, causing Aya to shriek.

She angrily stood up in the water and brushed the wet stands of hair away from her face. Her face burned red with a mix of annoyance and humiliation as she could hear the girls’ squeakily snickers relentlessly. “You girls need to grow up! Do me the favor!” She stood up out of the run and stomped out to dry in the sun.

“Come on, Aya,” sighed Sazumi, as she stopped paddling. “Lighten up. You take everything to the heart.”

“Silence!” she snapped, turning her back on them.

Sazumi rolled her eyes and continued swimming. “Like I care…” She went over to Linara, who was floating on her back. “She deserved it…”

They both chuckled together and Aya glared back at them. “Infants…”

Diamond giggled and continued swimming around, heading to the shore to play with the sand there. The door to the lakeside building opened and caught the girl’s attention. She looked up to see a young woman walking down to the shallow shore and kneeling by it. With a small beaker, she gathered water into the container and realized the little girl sitting a few feet away from here.

“Hey, there,” she greeted politely, standing up.

“Hi!” Diamond replied cheerfully, standing up as well and heading over to her.

“Are you here all by yourself?” the lady asked.

“Oh no, not at all,” Diamond shook her head and pointed toward the deeper end of the lake. “I’m here with my sister and my friends.” The woman looked up at saw the gang there. They noticed her, too, and began swimming over. Aya stood a few feet away, watching everything, and headed over to keep an eye on the younger girls and make sure that they didn’t reveal anything.

‘Linara’ climbed out of the water and stood in front of the young lady. “Good morning,” she greeted.

“Good morning,” the woman smiled at Linara and her friends. “It’s a beautiful day today, isn’t it?”

“Oh yes,” agreed Linara. “We were just enjoying the waters for a bit. It’s a beautiful lake.”

“It really is, isn’t it?” The dark blonde haired woman bowed to the group in respect. “My name is Nanami. It’s nice to meet you all.”

“Uh, I’m…Linara,” the disguised princess said. “These are my friends.”

“I’m Diamond!” the short, purple haired girl replied. “Linara is my sister.”

“I’m Yamyra,” greeted the dark green haired girl. “Nice to meet you!”

“My name is Aya,” said the tallest girl of the group. “And this is my sister…”

“Sazumi!” the blue haired girl ended the sentence.

“I haven’t seen you girls around here at all,” Nanami went on as she and the others headed toward drier land.

“We’re travelers,” Linara said calmly. She was used to her initial and solid excuse. “Hyrule is such a beautiful place and we wanted to be here.”

“That’s true,” agreed Nanami. “I’ve lived here all my life. It’s a really peaceful place. Just recently, however, I felt a powerful evil presence here."

Linara gasped and tightened her fists. With the small distraction of the lake, she had almost forgotten why she was here. "Something just happened, didn't it? Where exactly?"

Nanami was a bit surprised by Linara's outburst but answered softly. "It took place around the castle grounds, but everything is under control now. Don't worry about it, Linara. I know that things can get a bit hectic and a bit dangerous at times. Every civilization has its golden moments and its troubled times. But I’m certain that Hyrule will always prevail.”

“That’s great!” Linara commented, feeling a bit bad. Afterall, she knew what was going to happen here if she didn’t fulfill her mission, but this would surely keep her motivated. “What makes you say that, anyway? Is the Hylian Royal Family really powerful?”

“Yes. They are very strong and very loyal to their people. And aside from them, there’s one young man here that never lets us down. The one and only Hero of Time.”

“Hero of Time?” repeated Aya, crossing her arms. “Just how strong is he?”

“Oh, he’s amazing,” Nanami explained. “He’s saved this country countless times. He’s an amazing swordsman and skilled at magic. Really, if I wasn’t so busy, I wouldn’t hesitate to meet up with him…Oh my…” Nanami immediately turned red and giggly shyly. “I’m so sorry! I can’t help it!”

The other girls giggled as well. “He’s that cool, is he?” asked Yamyra and turned to her friends. “I’d like to meet him!”

“Me too!” Sazumi chirped happily, hopping up and down.

“Don’t get any ideas,” Aya growled at her sister.

“I’m so glad,” Linara said and stared up at the sun. “Oh my, is it midday already?”

Nanami gasped and shook her head. “I have to get going. Grandpa is probably still waiting for me…”

“Huh?”

“I came out right now to get a small sample of water from the lake. I work at that laboratory with my grandfather. We work endlessly every day to create new potions and medicines to help people.”

“That’s wonderful,” Diamond said happily. “I wish you guys the best of luck.”

“Thank you, Diamond,” Nanami smiled.

“Nami, have you gotten that water yet?!”

The girls simultaneously turned to see an elderly man standing by the door of the building. “Yes, Grandpa!” Nanami called out to him. She turned to the girls and bowed. “It was nice meeting you all. Enjoy Hyrule. Oh, and feel free to pay me a visit when ever you’d like. I could probably use some help around. See you later.”

“Bye, Nanami!” Sazumi and Diamond shouted, while waving with the others. Nanami disappeared into the building with her grandfather.

“That was interesting,” said Yamyra turning to her friends.

“Yeah,” Linara agreed and felt her clothes. “I think I’m dry enough to start moving around. Would you girls like to go explore Hyrule a bit more? I didn’t get to see much of it last time I was here.”

“Sounds like a plan!” chuckled Diamond.

The other girls agreed and slowly stood up. Linara twisted her pink top dry and began to walk on, with her friends following directly behind her, almost in a single file. They went on this way until they reached almost the center of the field. They were happily chattering about what they thought about Hyrule so far. With a sudden unexpected intake of breath, Linara stomped her breaks to a halt, causing all the girls to crash into the person in front of them. They groaned and each scolded Linara.

“Oh no…” the princess silently spoke out, eyes wide open, as if she had seen a poltergeist. She ran back to the lake so quickly, she nearly knocked her associates down.

“What is it now, Linara?” demanded Aya, grabbing onto the girl’s pink top as she ran past.

“Can’t get enough water?” suggested Sazumi. She smirked intelligently and walked toward the lake. “Neither can I!”

Yamyra grappled onto the back of Sazumi’s blue shirt. She came to an immediate impede.

Diamond approached her sister and stared up at her with a baffled gaze. “What is it, Linara?”

“It’s that boy…” she said in a shivery low tone.

“What boy?”

“…Some boy that I meet last time I was here…”

Diamond looked up into the sky dazed, until a look of remembrance danced across her visage. “I KNEW IT!! You did meet a boy here! And you’re all gaga for him! That glazed look in your eyes during dinner time was a dead give away, sis!” She joined the girls who had all turned to watch him as he rode in with his horse. Luckily for Diamond, Linara was in a slight trance and didn’t hear her say that.

“I’m lost here,” Sazumi said, shielding her eyes from the sun as she stared at the boy. “Who is he, exactly?”

“That’s the boy who Linara’s secretly admiring!” Diamond blurted in a know-it-all tone. It slipped out so casually it took Linara a second before it struck her.

“DIAMOND!” she screeched, holding up a wobbly fist. “SHUT UP!”

Diamond looked at her with a confused expression and then gasped when she remembered. “Oops…My bad…”

“Yeah,” Linara screamed. “You’re going to get hurt ‘bad.’ That’s gonna be ‘bad’! At least for you!”

Linara was ready to clobber her little sister with her bare fists, but quickly spun around when she caught a glimpse of Link looking her way. She let her long hair cover up any detail of her expressions.

“Did something happen between you two?” Aya asked, hands on her hips and eyes narrowed to tiny slits.

“NO!” Linara turned about and lifted up her hands defensively. “Nothing of the like!”

“Who is he, exactly?” inquired Yamyra.

Linara shrugged and turned away from them. “Not completely sure, ladies. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find out a thing. No time…Speaking of no time, we have to run and make sure he doesn’t see me! He examined my face enough to perhaps find Serenity in here!” She gestured at herself.

“But you’re different now!” Diamond brought up. “You look a lot neater this time. Last time, you’re hair was out of whack and you looked like a dull coffin keeper in that ugly dull cloak…”

“Enough!” Linara shouted in annoyance. Her cheeks were burning bright red and steam was sprouting out of her ears. “Just…get me out of here!”

“Who would have though you’d make a boyfriend on the first day here!” hooted Yamyra with sly eyes.

Linara nearly blew her top. “He’s not my boyfriend! Nothing happened between us, okay?!”

Within a few moments, the girls sat underneath a tree in Hyrule field. Linara told them the entire story about Link and Malon.

“He may not be you boyfriend, Linara,” Yamyra hissed with small eyes. “But you’d unquestionably like him to be, wouldn’t you?”

Linara blushed. “Let’s get off the topic…”

“Hey,” said Diamond. “Let’s go to the ranch and meet Malon.”

“Heck no!” Linara hollered. “We can’t! She might recognize me!” The girls sighed, annoyed.

“What the heck, Linara!” Sazumi bellowed. “Did you start another life here, or what? I bet you even have children here…”

“Don’t go there…” Linara growled lowly. Malon seemed so lonely when she met her. She couldn’t help but think that Malon deserved to see her again, even if she wasn’t Serenity anymore. “I want to go anyway,” she finally said.

The girls gasped. “Are you certain? What if she recognizes you?” asked Yamyra.

“I doubt it,” Linara snorted, arms crossed. “She probably didn’t spend as much time studying my face. And if she says anything, I’ll just deny it.” Her friends looked unsure. “Come on, girls…” she said, standing up. “Malon is too nice…I can’t just ditch her. She deserves to make more friends…You’ll all like her.”
