Title: Death In A Letter
Description: Death Note

Aiko - December 3, 2007 01:06 AM (GMT)
So, ya know, I'm ahead and such in Death Note. Watching the English dub and such gets boring, and even flipping through the manga I have gets boring... To cure my boredom, I decided to write a fiction I hope will actually turn out to be something good. Its going to be my version of Death Note but with some twist and turns and such.

So what things should I tell you before I start...

Mm. First, I'm using my roleplaying character Suuki Rayne. I used him on a Death Note RP site and I believe he'll fit perfectly in this story. I'll give a brief description of him. He's 17, 6'1 thin much like L. He has deep blue eyes and ash black hair. (Hair style similiar to Light's but sideburns are longer.) Wears three silver hoop earrings in his right ear. Dresses dark.

Uh any other info you need, I'll configure in the story. If you need more before hand, PM me. Now to begin.

Summary:
L and Light, whom is dubbed Kira, have crossed paths several times over the Death Note, but now that there is a new threat they must work together to solve a new case. But along comes a kid named, Suuki who's been studying the two who have been meeting in secrecy at the park for a while now. Oblivious to the fact that he has been watching them. Curious about what they are speaking of, he conducts a investigation of his own and stumbles upon the world's deadliest killer.

Disclaimer: I do not in anyway own L, Light nor the concept of Death Note. If I did, then it would still be running.

Claimer: I do however own Suuki Rayne, and the world's newest deadly killer.

Prologue
Death... in the simplest way

Mankind may be the world's deadliest killer, but it hasn't been proven yet....

"It seems today, that in another stream of unsolved murders that we have a new lead. Suicide maybe... But why 6 victims?" A newscaster reported on the television that accompanied the wall of a dim-lit apartment.
"Hmm..." Said a voice in the room as the T. V suddenly went dark and the only light in the room came from the broken up blinds.
It was exactly twelve midnight, and no sign of life was out on the street. The best time.
The figure the voice belonged to arose from their position in a chair as they headed for the park across from the rickety building they called home.
The figure stared at his watch and again let out a smug sigh of impatience as they stood in the shadows watching the two figures well known approach close by.
"This investigation is going to take much cooperation." Spoke one of the figures. "My investigating skills alone won't be enough to determine exactly what or whom is responsible for the sudden stream of death."

The second figure chuckled.
"Mm. L it is unlike you to be embarrassed about being wrong for the first time." They stopped walking. As the second figure got serious. "So you're suggesting we get the FBI involved yet again?"

"No, Kira, not exactly." The figure revealed as L said placing a thumb to his lip in thought. "We need someone who pushes their mind further than we ever would."

"Someone..." Said the shadowed figure. "Like me."

L and Kira stood there. "Just who are you?"

-*-
That's my awesome short prologue. Yeah, a bit confusing at the there but it'll get there. Chapter One is going to be longer. So prepare yourself. Btw, if anyone has any characters they want me to interpret into the story, just let me know.

Chapter One
Things end this way.

It had been exactly three weeks to this day that Suuki had made contact with L. Lawliet and Light Yanagi. Already he found out that L was the detective who had found Kira, who had turned out to be Light himself. It wasn't hard at all actually. In truth the pair had told on themselves by their secrecy.

"Just because we are allowing you to work with us during this investigation does not mean you get full access to any documents leading to this new "Kira." Spoke Light Angrily as he, Suuki and L sat around in Light's living room. L sitting in an arm chair in his usual position eyeing a cake that sat covered on a table. Light having his father's gene run off and performing a interrogation and Suuki setting their staying calm.
Not receiving a reply, nor even a smug smirk out of him, Light sat down unsatisfied as he remembered how they had came along such a strange person.

"Just who are you?" Questioned L, as he and Light stood their peering into the shadow trying to figure out who that person could be, or at least catch a glimpse of their face.

"Just... who am I... You question?" The figure replied with malice in their voice as they moved towards the street light drowning themselves in its light. L and Light stood their gazing over the man who stood before them. He was odd looking, and to Light it was like staring at a replica of L himself. Everything seem to be the exact same except for the style of clothing and the airiness the person seemed to carry themselves with. "I am. Suuki. That is all I shall tell you of my name. I do understand that you.." And he turned to Light as he spoke. "...are Kira. That much I know, and you must be L then. L. Lawliet."

L himself had been shocked at his detective skills. "And how did you know?"

Suuki chuckled slightly, as he grabbed at the rugged leather jacket he wore. "Simple. When people speak, though they know who they are talking to they tend to say the person's first name once or twice during a conversation, and tend to blurt their whole name out without knowing."

"Ahm." L simple muffled, as he stood their, his intelligence feeling pale compared to Suuki's.

"But, what is it you want?" Light asked as Suuki approached them closer, his silver earrings glowing in the street lights soft glow.

"To do my part in the investigation."

And that brought them to where they were now. By L agreeing to allow that Suuki person to work along side them.

Suuki finally smirk after along while of studying the two, and rose to his feet catching the attention of both males.
"As much as you yourself do not want me here, I do not want to be here."

Light rose up and rounded the coffee table separating them so that he and Suuki were face to face.

"Then I'd suggest it would be best for you to leave, now wouldn't it."

A heavy knock sounded at the door, which made everyone be a little cautious. Light walked to the door and opened it, only to find a letter laying down on the welcoming mat, it damp a bit from the misty atmosphere from the fresh rain that had only arrived hours ago.

He picked it up and examined it, before L reached over his shoulder and snatched it examining it also.

The front read in bold letters, KIRA, and a blood splotch under the A seemed questionable.

L slid a finger over the opening, as the smell of putrid blood rose in the air.
Suuki stared at the letter and noticed a wax seal in the right hair corner. It had no words but just a gargoyle.

"Open it." Was the simple demand, as L glared momentarily at Suuki before doing so.

He reached into the envelope and pulled out a graphic picture that shocked even he. Suuki grabbed the picture and studied it.
In it was a woman, her naked figure sprawled out obviously in a street. Blood pooled at her feet. Which was odd, because her feet were clean, and wound at the top of her head would explain if blood pooled anywhere.

"What do you suppose it means?" Light asked once he had seen the picture himself.
"Kira isn't human."
