Chapter 1: Kikyo's decision

The wind blows gently, flapping her shirts as Kikyo put at the edge of a cliff, staring out into the night. The day she's been waiting for finally came, as Naraku was dead. However, in another way, she also dreaded this day, for she would finally have to confront her biggest fear.

What would she do now?

Sighing, she make her way back to the forest slowly. As she approach the village slowly, she could hear Inuyasha and the others all celebrating. She saw the houshi waving his right hand about happily while the demon exterminator was watching him with an infatuated look. She assumed that the curse have been remove. Then she saw Inuyasha sitting by himself alone near the bone eater well. He seems to be deep in thought, thinking about something. Kikyo stood there hesitating for a while. Much as she wanted to see him again, she hesitated for fear that Inuyasha would said the words that she don't want to hear. "Thinking like this is not going to help." Kikyo chided herself. She was about to make her way out when suddenly...

"Inuyashaaa!!" Kagome came running towards him. Kikyo quickly retreated behind a tree and stood there watching her run towards him. She cursed herself for hesitating a moment ago.

"Why are you sitting here alone? Come join us in our celebration. Kaede has even prepared some sake for us." Kagome said happily as she took her seat beside Inuyasha.

"Thanks, but I'm not really in the mood." Inuyasha said as he continue looking at the sky with a sad expression. The wind continue blowing, swishing his long silver hair with a hypnotic effect.

"Inuyasha, are you.... thinking about Kikyo?" Kagome asks quietly. Inuyasha jumped a little, startled.

"Wha-what makes you think that?!?" Inuyasha replied in shock. Kagome smiled sadly.

"I've been with you long enough to know it." Kagome leaned her head on Inuyasha shoulder. Inuyasha just continue sitting quietly. The both of them stared at the new moon. Inuyasha slowly began to become human.

"What do you think will happen to her?" Inuyasha whispered as he put his arm around Kagome. Kagome did not flinch or drew herself away from him.

"I dunno." She just replied. Inuyasha this time turned to face her.

"And what will happen to you? The jewel is already completed. You don't have to force yourself to stay here anymore." Inuyasha said sadly. Kagome smiled, even though her eyes was full of sadness.

"Don't worry. It's my decision to remain here with you. It doesn't matter who you choose in the end. I will always be at your side." Kagome leaned forward and kiss him on the lips.

"Kagome..." Inuyasha thought to himself as he returned the kiss.

Behind the trees, Kikyo watched the scene, unable to hear a word due to the distance. As she saw them kiss, a fresh wave of sorrow starts to come over her. She had been a fool to even think that she had a chance to make up with Inuyasha. Tears started to form around her eyes.

Tis was certainly well written. And the idea certainly seems interesting. I'm certainly interested in what happens next.

Can't wait for the update. ^^

*claps* Very well writen!! If you're new here, welcome to IJ, and please continue

There were no spelling mistakes that I've noticed to be a problem but what I found to be quite pestering was the fact that there was no disclaimer or chapter. The paragraph length also bothered me a lot. Paragraphs can only be a minimum of four sentences and a maximum of eight. Many people don't realize this but this is a true fact.

As well, per paragraph, stick to one idea. Having numerous things happen in one paragraph may confuse readers.

That's just my two dollars. Continue when you wish to.

Chapter 2: Kikyo's sorrow

Kikyo started to move as far as she can from Inuyasha. She had no idea where she was going. All she knew was that the closer she is to Inuyasha, the more unbearable it is. Kikyo continued until she reached a river, where she collapsed in exhaustion. She decided to go refresh herself by washing her face.

As she approached the river, she saw the water gleamed from the moon's bright light. The water ripples gently, showing her reflection as clear as a mirror. As kikyo approached, she saw herself teary eye.

"Why am I crying?!" Kikyo scolded herself. She remembered her teacher saying to her " A priestess must never be indecisive, or show her weakness to anyone." She smiled a little to herself. That rule was already completely shattered apart.

As she started to rinse her face, her soul collectors started flying towards her, each carrying a glowing ball. As she stood up to take the souls, she suddenly slipped and cut her face on a rock in the river. She then saw her reflection.

She saw a woman with a scratch on her face, which isn't bleeding, and surrounded by soul collectors with souls. Something that is neither human nor monster. Some thing that doesn't even deserve to exist in the world.

Kikyo started crying again. "What on Earth have I become?" She started to remember the day where Naraku attacked her disguised as Inuyasha...

"Flashback"
( edited a little to spice up the story)

After Kikyo came back from a boat trip with Inuyasha, she could barely contain her excitement, even though she managed to maintain her decorum. She hardly sleep that night, instead spending hours in front of the mirror touching up her face. She has already started planning for the future.

"After he becomes human, the first thing I'll do is introduce him to Kaede. Then maybe we can live together alone..." She stopped her thoughts there. "I'll think about it when the time comes."

...

The next day, Kikyo make her way to the field early, carrying the jewel in her hand. She had woken up an hour early to adjust her hair and put on some make up. "Inuyasha's going to get a shock when he sees me." She smiled mischievelously to herself. Unknown to her, someone was approaching her from behind rapidly, then

SLASH!!! Kikyo cried out in pain as she fell onto the grass. Blood splattered all over the place, and Kikyo's right shoulder was completely drenched in blood. Then she heard a familiar laughter behind her.

"Keh! You're such an idiot that I feel great about tricking you!" Kikyo's eyes widen in shock. Perhaps she was still sleeping at home, and that this was all a bad dream...

"Inuyasha?!?" She reached out and tried to grab the jewel, but Inuyasha walked forward and stomped on her hand. As he bent down to take the Jewel, he said "You look different today. You put on make up? They look good on you, but those things are for a human, not a monster like you."

Something very painful was going through Kikyo's head. Her whole body was only screaming one thing to her. "It's not true, it's not true..."

As Inuyasha turned to leave, Kikyo grabbed his leg, even though it hurt her terribly.

"Wait... All the things you did, all the words you said, especially last night, were they all..." Kikyo could not finish the sentence, but the memories were swirling around her head vividly. Inuyasha hugging her and saying "I will become human, so that you can become a normal woman too. And we would spend our lives together, and forever."

Inuyasha bended down and looked at her eyes directly. Eyes that show nothing but compassion, kindness as well as great sorrow.

"We spend many hours together. All those moments, especially last night." Inuyasha said softly. For just a tiny moment, Kikyo started to have hope again, that this was all just a big mistake, that Inuyasha would perhaps beg for forgiveness, and that they would make up again...

"All those moment until now. Do you know much I've..." And in that moment, Inuyasha's eyes change into that of a cold, heartless monster. "... endure it?"
At that moment, Kikyo's world shattered completely.

"I was never wanted. I have just been used all along..." Kikyo closed her eyes in despair as hopelessness overcome her. She hardly notice the pain in the body, although Inuyasha next words pierced her deeply.

"Don't worry. I won't send you alone. I'll send the entire village together with you, starting with your sister." And with that, Inuyasha walked away laughing, taking care to step on Kikyo's wounds.

...

Kikyo continue lying on the field in a pool of blood, as though dead. She wished that Inuyasha could have just finished her with the first strike. It would be so much better than what she was going through now. With a great effort, she forced herself to stand and made her way back to the village, leaving a trail of blood behind her. She noticed tears dropping from her face fresh. "Damn... It's so vexing, this feeling. And why won't the tears stop?" She cursed herself silently. She had paid a dear price for trusting Inuyasha, but she won't let her sister or any of the villagers get killed. "I made this mistake, so I must lead everyone out of it.

As Kikyo make her way slowly to the village, she used the time to think about what just happen. "There's no way Inuyasha could have tricked me for so long. Even though I let my guard down, I would be able to sense it if he was emitting evil youki." Kikyo started to convince herself that Inuyasha was innocent. "The village will be the final evidence. If Inuyasha did as he said he would..." Kikyo couldn't bear to think of what would follow, although the heavy feeling of fear get stronger.

As she approached the village, she saw smoke rising out of it. On closer inspection, the village was on fire. Kikyo moved as quickly as she could, praying that the village won't be the way it is in her mind. When she reached the entrance of the village, she recoiled in shock.

Splattered on the floor were three of the guards. They were attacked from behind. As she started to mourn for them, a wounded soldier approached her, carrying a bow and some arrows.

"Lady Kikyo... Help... Inuyasha..." Kikyo grabbed him by the shoulder and shook him roughly. "What about Inuyasha!?! What did he do? ANSWER!!!" She shouted. "Inuyasha... killed... us... Kaede... Dead..." The words struck Kikyo like a splash of cold water. "Kaede... dead..." And in that moment, she screamed "INUYASHAAAAAAAAAA!!!!" She picked the bow and run off.

After Kikyo left, the wounded soldier smiled, before transforming into Naraku. "How easy to manipulate naive people... She was lucky I couldn't find her sister, or she would really be dead." Naraku smiled as blood dripped from his hands, blood which came from the soldiers he just slayed.

Kikyo made her way to where the noise was loudest. "I've trusted you all along. I never even doubted you, not even for a second! And yet you just..." Kikyo then saw Inuyasha running off with the Jewel in his hand.

"That Inuyasha... He could have ran off with the Jewel the moment he got it, yet he killed Kaede and all those people... just to torment me..." Hatred such as she never felt before rose within her. "DIE INUYASHAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!" She screamed as she release all her power into her last shot. The arrow hit Inuyasha dead on the heart, effectively sealing him to the tree for all eternity. Inuyasha took one last look at Kikyo before he died, a look that beared no hatred, only love.

As Inuyasha looked at her, Kikyo suddenly realized that she doesn't hate Inuyasha, and that she still love him, even though he tricked her, wounded her and killed Kaede. She felt happy yet guitly. Happy that she loved Inuyasha, guilty that she loved Inuyasha. "Kaede and the others are dead because of him, and yet you are still thinking of yourself." Too much things were going through Kikyo's head and she screamed in agony. Tears started to form around her eyes as she pounded the floor so hard that her hand started to bleed.

Suddenly, a flash of light caught her attention. The jewel had dropped from Inuyasha's hand when he died. However, seeing it didn't make Kikyo happy at all. On the contrary, she felt extremely angry. Because of the jewel, she had lost her home, her family and her love.... She crawled over to the jewel.

Naraku was watching silently behind a tree. "That's right, save yourself. After that, I will personally send you together with your lover." He stared maliciously.

Kikyo considered for a moment. The Jewel was too dangerous to be around. She made her decision then. She will burn the Jewel together with her body so that no one will come after it again. "And so that the next miko after me will not have to suffer so much..." She added silently.

Grasping the Jewel in her bloodied hand, she threw herself directly at the center of the fire burning the village.

Whew! Extremely long. But tell me what you think anyway.

I like this story so far ^^ Though I've only read the first chapter.
I couldn't help but notice that everytime someone speaks, you separate it from the paragraph... that could be changed.
I'll get through it later on cuz I got alot of stuff to do, so... yeah.
Keep up the good work.

Well,it was certainly interesting.

However, as one fan fic writer to another, I was shocked to see all the grammar mistakes I noticed. So, I've gone and found all the misspelled/misused words, and highlighted what they should be:

water gleamed from the moon's bright light

she suddenly slipped and cut her face

After he becomes human

I’ll think about it when the time comes."

carrying the jewel in her hand

as she fell onto the grass

Bent down to take the Jewel

even though it hurt her terribly

so that you can become a normal woman too.

would perhaps beg for forgiveness

Even though I let my guard down now

Kikyo moved as quickly as she could

Splattered on the floor were three of the guards (Generally in writing, you should only use numbers when telling time. Otherwise it looks kinda amateurish.)

a wounded soldier approached her

"Lady Kikyo... Help... Inuyasha..." Kikyo grabbed him by the shoulder and shook him roughly. "What about Inuyasha!?! What did he do? ANSWER!!!" She shouted. "Inuyasha... killed... us... Kaede... Dead..." The words struck Kikyo like a splash of cold water. "Kaede... dead..." And in that moment, she screamed "INUYASHAAAAAAAAAA!!!!" She picked the bow and run off. (Needed to start another paragraph after each character spoke.)

the wounded soldier smiled

blood which came from the soldiers he just slayed.

a look that beared no hatred

and that she still loved him

She felt happy yet guilty

Happy that she loved Inuyasha, guilty that she loved Inuyasha

a flash of light caught her attention

She made her decision then

Those were all the mistakes I noticed. If you wish to discuss them, or ask why I thought they were mistakes, feel free to PM me. If you're also interested in an editor to check over your chapters before you post, I'd be glad too.

Keep up the good work. Looking forward to more updates.

Ok, time to continue on the fanfic.

Chapter 3: Kikyo's sorrow (continue)

Kikyo remembered that day event very clearly. She started to cry again when she thinks of how the opportunity of her living together with Inuyasha was taken away from her so easily. She then start to think back to the time when she was revived...

"Flashback"
(edited a little to spice up the story)

Kikyo felt like she's been sleeping for a very long time. She knew that she should move on, but a part of her, namely her heart, will never rest in peace. Kikyo doubted that even if another century past, she would ever rest in peace She wished she just stay like this forever, and never ever wake up to confront the truth, that Inuyasha did betrayed her, but her prayers were not heard...

"Soon the soul will be separated from the body. And when that time comes, Kikyo will be alive once again!" She faintly heard someone laughing. Kikyo suddenly felt as though hands was pushing her away from the the place she was sleeping in. She tried to resist with all her strength, to prevent herself coming out again to live, to live in a world without Inuyasha...

"Kagome!" Kikyo heard a familiar voice shouted. Time seems to froze as she heard the voice of Inuyasha. "Inuyasha is... alive?" For a moment, she felt extremely happy as hope started to leap in her chest again. But she then remembered what he did to her, and forced herself to stay where she was. She don't want to face the truth, to hear Inuyasha said the words, with those cruel eyes as he wounded her that day "Don't pay attention, don't pay attention..." Kikyo repeated to herself firmly.

"Kikyo..." She heard Inuyasha said. The way he always used to say to her when they were together. And in that very moment, her concentration wavered. She realized that she actually wanted to be alive again, to hear Inuyasha talk to her, to see his face, even if what he say will kill her in the inside forever...

"Oh-ho! The soul has come out of the body! Return to your original body!" Urasue shouted. Kikyo felt herself floating in a place surrounded by bright light for a moment, then everything went black. She has come back to life. Even though it was 50 years since she died, the time in between seems to be only a few minutes.

"Now Kikyo, use your power to kill Inuyasha and the rest!" Anger welled up inside Kikyo. "Inuyasha belongs to me! No one will have him!" Without opening her eyes, she turned her body to Urasue and grasped her firmly by the shoulder. Summoning her spiritual power, she blow Urasue into pieces. She felt her shoulder causing her great pain, the wounds she receive from Inuyasha before she died.

"Please let me return to sleep..." She pleaded with God silently. Then she heard his voice again.

"Kikyo, is that really you?" All that moment, she changed her mind instantly. Unless she find out the truth, even if it would break her heart, she will never ever rest in peace. With a great effort, she forced her eyes open and turned her head.

"Inuyasha..." There he was, looking the same as he did in the past. Happiness welled up in her, followed by guilt. She wasn't suppose to love him. A millions questions were buzzing through her head, but she chose the most important one.

"WHY DID YOU BETRAY ME?" She reached forward and tried to injure him to stop him escaping, but Inuyasha just jumped away.

"What the hell are you talking about? When did I betray you?" Inuyasha shouted back.

Kikyo's eyes narrowed in anger. Does her love for him mean so little that he couldn't even remember what he did? "Cut the lies! You betrayed me! You said you'll become human, yet you..." Kikyo didn't bring herself to finish the question, although this time her eyes show more hurt than hatred. Eyes which were wide and tearful, with desperation to know the truth.

All of a sudden, she felt someone tugging at her sleeves. "Please stop this, sister Kikyo!" "Sister Kikyo? Only one person would call me that..." She turned her head and saw a old woman beside her. "I am Kaede, your sister. I have lived for 50 years since you died.

"50 years!?! It's been so long?" Kikyo thought in shock. "Kaede? Aren't you... No... More importantly... Why are you siding with Inuyasha?!?" Kikyo asked angrily. "He tricked me, wounded me, attack the village and killed the villagers!" Kikyo turned and pointed acccusingly at Inuyasha, eyes full on anger once again, though the pain didn't disappear completely.

"What did you mean I betrayed you? You're the one that betrayed me!"Inuyasha shouted back angrily.

Kikyo recoiled in shock. "I betrayed him?" She shook with anger and pain. Just when she thought her heart could no longer be broken into smaller pieces by Inuyasha...

"So you're saying... By asking you to become human... I made you betray your species?!? Does even your species mean more to you than my feeling!" She snatched the bow from Kaede and tried to shoot Inuyasha down, which he jumped away. "Don't move! This time you will not revive! You will come with me!"

Kikyo raised her bow again, but this time Inuyasha did not move and instead let himself be pierced in the arm by Kikyo's arrow.

"Inuyasha... Wha..." Kikyo stammered. Inuyasha just continued to look at her with sadness in his eyes. The exact same eyes he used when he give Kikyo falsed hope 50 years ago. "Is he thinking of tricking me again?" Kikyo thought to herself. Inuyasha began to walk towards her.

"Don-Don't move!" Kikyo raised her bow again, although she was shaking and fear was clearly heard in her voice. Inuyasha just continued and suddenly pulled her into a hug. "Inuyasha... What... are you doing..." Kikyo whimpered.

"Enough, Kikyo..." Inuuyasha said softly. "You have been through even more than what I've been through. And because of your love for me, you had suffered so much..." Inuyasha's words cut into Kikyo like a blade of light, exposing all her pain and sorrow.

"Inuyasha... I just want to know... why?" Kikyo's voice was pleading and desperate, desperate to know the truth, yet fearful of what was about to come. Inuyasha also had no idea what Kikyo was talking about, but he was about to reply when suddenly Kikyo's nerves failed her.

"Get away from me!" She pushed Inuyasha away, not wanting to hear the answer. Inuyasha stared after her in shock. "Kikyo... Why..." Kikyo looked at the floor, not daring to meet Inuyasha's eyes. "Inuyasha... I..." At that moment, Kagome's eyes suddenly open, though she still wasn't conscious...

"ARRRGHH!!" Kikyo cried out as her soul escaped from her. With what little power she had left, she manage to keep a tiny portion of her soul in her body, even though it rendered her completely exhausted. She started to get as far as she could from Kagome...

"Kikyo!" Inuyasha cried out. Kaede started after her in shock. "How can she still be moving..." Then she heard laughter. Apprently, Urasue was still alive, even though her head was separated from the rest of her body. "It's her pain and suffering that's keeping her alive... Ironic, isn't it? The day when she become happy will be the day she die. She'll never get to experience true happiness forever.

"What the hell are you talking about?" Inuyasha shouted angrily. "Hehe... Imagine a young little girl who believe babies comes from stocks, grows up to become a prositute... The once pure miko will only understand hatred and agony now..." Her words were cut short when Kaede stabbed her head with an arrow, causing it to dissolve. "Inuyasha... I suggest you go find Sister Kikyo. Try to find out what really happen." Inuyasha nodded and ran off.

Kikyo was wandering aimlessly, focusing on getting away from kagome, and from inuyasha too. But on the way, she slipped and started to fall off a cliff. "It's over... I am going to die for real this time... Maybe I can go back to sleep..." Just when she thought it's over for her, Inuyasha appeared and grabbed her by her hand.

"Inuyasha!" Kikyo said. Happiness leaped in her heart. "He came to save me... He cares about me after all..."

"Kikyo, you can't go on this way... You should return to Kagome's body..." Inuyasha said.

Kikyo's eyes widen in shock at what he just said. "In other words, that girl is more important to you?"

"Wha..." Inuyasha stammered.

"For that girl to be conscious, it needs the full soul." Kikyo was shaking with pain now, physically and emotionally. "For her, you would give up my life, my 50 years of love for you!" Kikyo screamed angrily. "Why did I even bother to ask him? It's obvious he doesn't love me anymore after that day he attacked me! And yet I wasted all my time believing him, trusting him, forgiving him..." Kikyo thought in despair. "Let go of me! LET ME GO, I SAID!" Kikyo screamed, lashing out at Inuyasha, trying to hit him.

"Kikyo, stop moving about! I won't be able to save you otherwise!" Inuyasha shouted. Kikyo's eyes widen in suprise. "Save me?" She thought to herself. "Or save that girl?"

Kikyo suddenly stop struggling. "Has she calm down?" Inuyasha thought to himself. Then Kikyo raised her face, and he was shocked by what he saw. He saw Kikyo's face full of pain, especially her eyes. Full of hurt and love, without even a tiny bit of hatred. A pale shadow of the pure miko she used to be.

"I don't know what to believe anymore..." Kikyo said in a quiet voice filled with despair, crying silently. She suddenly grabbed his arm and used her spiritual power to force Inuyasha to release her. Kikyo started to fall.

"Kikyo!!!!" Inuyasha shouted. Kikyo smiled as she continue falling lower. "Don't worry Inuyasha. If I die, my soul will go back to that girl."

Kikyo disappeared into the valley deep below the cliff.

Sorry for writing all this flashback, but I still dunno how to continue the story from where it originally is. Tell me what you think anyway.

I like. Tis certainly going good.

However, I once again noticed quite a few grammar mistakes. As I said before, if you need an editor to proofread it before you post, let me know. I'd be happy to.

Other than advising that you get a proofreader/editor, that's all I have to point out.

Keep up the good work. ^^

Chapter 3: The reason for the tragic fate

Kikyo continued walking down the hills thinking about what to do. The moon was bright that night and the landscape was beautiful, although Kikyo paid no attention. She thought back to the time where she saw Inuyasha earlier, kissing kagome. At the thought of Kagome, Kikyo's eyes harden.

Kagome was her reincarnation, she was told. It's pretty obvious to see the similarities between them. Their power, apperance and the fact that she had the jewel. Not only does she have the power Kikyo had trained so hard to get, but she even had Inuyasha's heart.

Kikyo finally reached another village. With permission from the villagers, she stayed overnight in a nearby hut. There she began to plan for the future. What will she do?

Kikyo started from the beginning. She decided to continue living. Much as it pains her to see Inuyasha with Kagome, she couldn't bear it if she was ever separated from him again. She had gone through the pain of it once, and it was the worst thing she ever felt; she did not intend to do it again, even if she have to stalk him wherever he go. Kikyo smiled a little. Ironic, it was Inuyasha who used to stalk her in the past, now she might be doing the very thing he did.

Kikyo remembered when she tried to take Inuyasha's life so they can be together in hell. Inuyasha had managed to break away from her spell, in order to save Kagome. Kikyo remembered clearly the pain she felt as she realise Kagome is more important to Inuyasha now than her. She regretted wasting all the time she had spent together with him. She used to thought that no one could replace her in Inuyasha's heart. Now it was taken over by her reincarnation.

"Flashback"
(edited a little to spice up the story)

Kikyo leaned against a tree trying to regain her energy. Somehow, she had survived the terrible fall from the cliff. She supposed her clay body were made to sustain such damage. Even though there wasn't any visible wounds, the physical pain was strong enough to prevent her from moving around for a few days at most, as well as the emotional pain.

"Inuyasha..." She thought to herself. Would he be looking for her? Or is he beside his reincarnation now, perhap holding her hands as he prayed for her to wake up. A cold smile touches Kikyo's face. Her soul was still within her; that girl would not wake up. If she has to suffer, Inuyasha will suffer with her. The moment she thought of that, Kikyo suddenly feel very bad. In reality, she doesn't want Inuyasha to suffer, but she don't want Inuyasha paying attention to her reincarnation instead. Kikyo tried to move but the pain forced her to sit down again.

Night began to fall, and Kikyo suddenly realizes that she had difficulty moving, even though she was sitting down. She cursed herself silently. Of course, it is only an imitation body, without the full soul she won't be able to move easily. Just then she noticed a group of soul collectors flying past her. Using her spiritual powers, she bend their will, forcing them into giving her the souls of the dead people they have collected from so far. As she transferred them into her body, she started to feel a great wave of remorse. She was preventing the souls from going to Nirvana by using them.

"It will only be for a while." She promised. "After I do what I have to do, you will all be free.

...

Inuyasha was sitting by the Goshinboku. He was thinking about what Kikyo had said to him earlier that day.

"Why did you betray me?" Kikyo's words kept echoing in his head. He didn't see how he could have betrayed her when it was her who so clearly betrayed him. However, he remembered the sadness and sorrow within Kikyo when they hugged for that brief moment of time. He was convinced that she love him, yet she tried to kill him and pinned him to the tree... "If only I had saved you back then, there are still so many things I want to say to you..."

Suddenly, a man wearing a baboon mask stepped out in front of him. Inuyasha stared in suprise. He never met the man before, and didn't know him either. What did he want?

"Feeling sad, Inuyasha? I'm not suprised, seeing your love one degenerate into something so pathetic right before you..." Inuyasha immediately stood up and face the man. This man know me, and he even know Kikyo... "Who the hell are you?" Inuyasha snapped fiercely.

"Kukuku... I am Naraku. What a pitiful state both you and Kikyo have been reduced into... And to think you were once lovers who were going to live with each other..."Naraku smiled coldly.

"You seems to know a lot about us. Care to explain, you bastard?" Inuyasha snarled.

"Haven't you get it through your thick brain yet... Kikyo attacked you 50 years ago... And you... Images suddenly flashed through Inuyasha's head. Kikyo lying on the floor in a pool of blood, a guy wearing red taking the Jewel from her as he stomped on her hand. He said something to Kikyo, and she seemed completely overwhelmed in despair by his words. The guy in red stood up and leave, stepping on her wounds as he walked away laughing. "... are responsible for her death." Naraku said quietly.

The guy in red, clearly him, Inuyasha.

"What is the meaning of this, you bastard?" Inuyasha shook his head to clear his mind and turned to look at Naraku. Then his mouth fell open in shock.

Kikyo was standing before him, holding a bow.

"Kikyo..." Inuyasha said slowly as he walked towards her. Kikyo smiled at him, although it was different from her usual smile. This one seems more... cold...

"Die Inuyasha!" Kikyo raised her bow suddenly and shoot straight for Inuyasha's heart. "What the..." Inuyasha jumped away in shock avoiding the arrow narrowly. He turned to look at Kikyo, who was smiling an evil smile.

"And now..." Kikyo closed her eyes for a while and... poof! Inuyasha stood facing before himself. The other Inuyasha stared at him for a while before transforming back into Naraku. Inuyasha stood there confused for a while, then the truth hit him.

"You tricked us into killing each other..." He said slowly. Naraku just smiled.

"Let me start on the day I was born. There was a low-life, filthy bandit named Onigumo who was scarred and crippled for life after being burned and falling off a cliff. He was found and nursed to health in a secret cavern by Kikyo, who cared for him daily." Inuyasha just stood there confuse, he had no idea where this was going to...

"Time pass and that low-life bandit began to fall for Kikyo. He even proclaimed his love for her, but Kikyo ignored it completely, and maintain her cool demeanour. It frustrated the bandit very much.

One day, Kikyo came to care for him as usual, but she was behaving differently. She seems more happy and kept smiling the whole day. The low-life bandit didn't know what caused the change until Kikyo's brat sister told him. Kikyo could be in love with someone.

The bandit was jealous and angry, so he decided to sell his soul to the devil in order to get a body that can move freely. Thousands of demon devoured him on the spot, and that is how I, Naraku was borned. That son of a ***** give me a good deal. " Naraku smiled.

"Why trick us into attacking each other?" Inuyasha was now struggling to keep himself from charging at Naraku.

"Why... Can't rest knowing that "you" have betrayed Kikyo?" Naraku laughed. Inuyasha bit his lips so hard that blood began to drip from his mouth.

"It was to make Kikyo's heart tainted, of course. Don't you find it tragic, a person being betrayed and getting vengence on a person she loves? Especially if the other person is not responsible for anything." Naraku laugh again. " It was amusing, seeing Kikyo's unruffled face in pain and despair. The Jewel absorb the emotion of the user currently using it, and the more powerful the feeling, the more power it will have. Love, anger, sorrow, bitterness, regret, guilt, hatred all combined... Kikyo's emotion will boost the Jewel's power more than twice of what it already have, especially if she is responsible for the death of her lover." Naraku smiled again and another image flashed through Inuyasha's head. He was pinned to the Goshinboku and Kikyo was screaming with agony, pounding the floor so hard that the skin on her hands have teared and blood was pouring out of her hand.

"Everything would have proceed smoothly if Kikyo had used the Jewel to save herself... The feeling of shamefulness would only served to strengthen the Jewel and help me. I waited for that, to get the Jewel and Kikyo. To let her know that she was tricked into killing her to perhap strengthen the Jewel even more, with her regret. Then I could torture her slowly and painfully to death at leisure, to see her cool face in pain and sorrow beside her lover, and get my hands on a power that will make me invincible. However..." Naraku sighed.

"That woman couldn't bear the thought of living on without you. She decided to burn herself together with the Jewel, in the hope that she will be together with you again. I guess being too greedy is a bad thing... I got neither Kikyo nor the Jewel..." Naraku continued on casually, although he knew he was making Inuyasha more and more angry by the moment. He enjoyed what he was doing.

"What a..." Naraku paused and examined Inuyasha's face closely. "... stupid ***** *****."

"How... How dare you..." Inuyasha jumped out at Naraku, slashing him with all the force he could mustered. Naraku disappeared under a cloud of miasma. Inuyasha tried to pursue him, but is forced to give up when he couldn't find him anywhere.

"Kukuku... Don't worry... I'll be back for you soon... Once I get Kikyo..." Naraku's faint voice echod softly.

Inuyasha gritted his teeth furiously. He let Kikyo suffered enough. No matter what, he will never let her suffer again.
