Author’s Note: HIYA PEOPLE! Looky here! My first ever Chobits fanfic! It’s also the first story I wrote without using any original characters of mine, which is very unusual. But I love Chii and I love Hideki and I love them as a couple, so here’s my little tribute to them.

Her white, creamy fingers traced the clear surface of the window. Her round eyes stared out into the distance, tracing the sky and the earth. It was rainy on this Saturday morning. Hideki had gone out shopping for a bit, and the rain shower unexpectedly caught him on his way back home.
Chii was feeling lonely. She always felt a lone and sad when he wasn’t around. Ever since Shinbo decided to take Sumomo back, Chii spent most days without anyone around. She awaited the return of her owner, and her love.

Hideki drew stares from the citizens of the large city. They were all aware of his relationship with his beautiful persocom and naturally found it strange and unusual for a human to fathom being with an android. Hideki, however, remained strong. It didn’t matter to him at all what everyone thought, because as far as he was concerned, Chii was a human with a real soul and real emotions.

Hideki raced down the street and rounded the corner to the entrance of the apartment complex in which he resided. Chii hadn’t moved away from the window at all. She noticed Hideki right away and became extremely happy and relieved that he was finally back. He hadn’t been gone for anymore than a half hour, but she always missed him when ever he was away, no matter how long or short a period of time had passed.

Hideki opened the door to his apartment and entered, leaving his shoes by the door.
“Hideki! Welcome back!” Chii exclaimed, dashing over to him and glomping him.
Hideki groaned and nearly fell back, but managed to keep his balance. After all, he didn’t want to fall on the groceries and put them to waste. He was once again falling behind in school, and his income wasn’t any better than usual.
“It’s good to see you, Chii,” Hideki said, smiling down at the girl.
“Chii is happy to see you too,” she replied looking at him. “Chii gets sad when you’re away.”

Hideki sighed and couldn’t help but feel guilty. Chii’s face soured when she noticed the look on his face. “Is Hideki sad, too?”
Hideki put on a smile for her and patted the top of her head, lovingly. “No, not at all. I just don’t want you to be sad. I promise to take you with me the next time I go out.”
“Chii would like that!” she smiled.
When the rain is pouring down

Hideki patted her head one last time before heading into the apartment. “I don’t have anything to do today,” he said as he began to take out the food from the paper bag. “I was thinking maybe you and I could go do something.”
Chii ran up to him and began to enthusiastically help him put away the groceries. She grabbed onto a glass jar and it accidentally slipped out of her hands and hit the ground, shattering into pieces and losing its contents. Hideki jumped and turned to look at her.
Chii’s eyes focused on the ground before lifting up to look at Hideki. “Chii did something bad,” she said sadly. “Chii is sorry.”

Hideki only smiled at her. “Don’t be sad. It was an accident. We can just clean it up. There’s no problem with you at all.”
Chii watched quietly as Hideki grabbed the broom and dust pan. He proceeded to scoop up the mess.
“Sometimes Chii feels like she’s broken,” Chii told him. Hideki stopped what he was doing and turned to look at her. The gloom never left her innocent eyes. “Sometimes Chii can hear them.”
Hideki stared at her with concern and came closer to her. “Hear who, Chii?”
“Chii can hear people outside,” she explained. “They say that Hideki is a crazy person. They say that Chii doesn’t know how to love and one day Hideki will leave her. It makes Chii’s heart hurt. ”

Hideki felt guilt for some reason. Although he knew there was nothing he had done to provoke this, on the inside he still felt responsible. ‘I have to let her know,’ he thought. ‘I have to tell her more often how I feel…’
“Chii doesn’t want to be broken,” Chii said after a short moment, never lifting her eyes from the floor. “Chii wants to be with Hideki forever.”
Chii suddenly felt warmth over her cold, metallic body. She lifted her head and stared up at her owner. He caught her in an embrace that she could barely even remember getting from him before.

“I’m sorry, Chii,” Hideki said softly.
“Hideki shouldn’t be sorry,” Chii replied. “Hideki is always nice to Chii. Chii loves Hideki very much.”
“Yes,” Hideki confirmed with a nod. “I know that you love me. But you need to know that I love you, too, and I love you more than anything else in the world.”

“I know it’ll be difficult for us,” he continued, gazing into her eyes. “Those people can’t see what I see. You’re more than just a persocom. In my eyes, you’re a beautiful human girl, and it doesn’t matter to me what any one says. I’m going to be with you.”

“Forever?” Chii asked, holding on to him tighter.
“Yes,” he replied.
“Do you promise?” she asked again.
“I promise, Chii,” he said lovingly. Chii sighed and left her worries behind. As long as Hideki was here, and as long as he didn’t care what others believed, she would stand strong for him.

Hideki stared back down at Chii and let her go. “Do you want go out for a walk?” he asked. “The rain stopped already.”
Chii smiled and nodded her head. “Chii would love to.”
With that said, Hideki and Chii dressed in warm clothes and walked out the door. They began to head down the empty road toward the busy section of the city. Happy, human couples passed them by, smiling and holding hands.
Hideki stared down at Chii and slowly put his arm around her. Chii flinched at the unexpected contact and stared up at him. Hideki noticed the confused expression she wore and simply smiled.
“We love each other,” Hideki explained. “It’s time for us to let he world know that we’re happy.”
Chii grinned at him innocently and put her arm around his waist. “Chii is glad!”

I love that song. *cries* And that couple! Seriously, if I knew how to make AMVs I would definitely make a ChiixHideki one using this song.
