I actually don't think he's that strong at all.

Sure, he can beat someone up, but strength also comes from mental capability, and few people in that manga have that ability.

Inuyasha < Naraku
Inuyasha < Sango/Miroku
Inuyasha < Sesshoumaru
Inuyasha < Kikyo
Inuyasha = Kagome

Naraku actually plans his attacks, and is always ahead of everyone.
Sango and Miroku think.
Sesshoumaru is a noble Lord, and therefore gets an education.
Kikyo is wise.
Kagome is on the same level as Inuyasha on the whole matter.

InuYasha relies on a sword, the Tessaiga, which was forged by his Father's fang. Sometime during the series it breaks and gets replaced with InuYasha's own fang, which in turn is his own power. So, whatever he does to the sword is his own power. So, in a sense, he's a bit weak to hide behind a weapon where he's a Han'yo and has demon-traits. I am sure he only knows one or two attacks with his demon traits. It'd be nice if he tapped into that energy; and if he did, he'd probably be as strong as his 'Youkai' self.

InuYasha's weakness is Kagome and Kikyou. With Kikyou out of the picture, it's Kagome. And if Kagome is in danger, he protects her, regardless if he has the Tessaiga or not -- and in a few instances, he proved to be stronger than any full-demon.

The thing that makes him strong his his human heart; he's able to understand the pain and emotion humans face whereas demons only feel demonic emotions -- some of which include lust, greed, and revenge. Some demons don't even feel love.

InuYasha = Kagome
InuYasha < Miroku
InuYasha < Sango (With Armour and Weapons)
InuYasha > Sango (Without Armour and Weapons)
InuYasha > Shippou
InuYasha < Kikyou (due to her being his first weakness, and that he loves her)\
InuYasha > Naraku (-IF- he did not use the barrier and hide behind all these traps and things; but, seeing as though he uses them, it's a =)
InuYasha < Sesshoumaru (due to Sesshoumaru having more experience, faster, and better tactics)

Now, I don't really think InuYasha is strong -- why? Because all good InuYasha fans KNOW for a fact that InuYasha is a slight remake of Fire Tripper, an early RT work, and Ranma 1/2, the basis for a comedy, nudity, romance, and the beginnings of a good work. However, I do have to say that InuYasha is more of a dramatic thing rather than action and Ranma is more of an adult-type comic.

Anyways, my opinion on Inuyasha himself on whether or not hes weak is pretty neutral. He is strong with his emotions but in fighting terms I would consider him weak without his sword. He's just way too dependent on it.

I will tell you who is strong...Broly The Legendary Super Sayain...Yes he is strong...Brute strength that is hes not very mentally strong.. All the chracters from basilisk are strong. Ed is strong. Goku is strong. But broly beats them all muhahahahaahahahaha...Sorry but coming up on my first day in the tattoo parlor and my tat has got broly in it...So please dont hate to much cause im spending $5000+ on this tattoo.
