A poem I wrote for class [based on The Holocaust]. I must say, I'm quite fond of this poem.
Genocide
The prerequisite to the purification of superiority
Sweet child, he has spoken,
take one last glance before separation.
Please, do not cry, dry those tears
for it is time to go, my dear.
My child, gone; I do not know what for.
I cannot remember the days that came after,
all I know is his dark lies.
I pray to the Creator, “O’ keep me sane.
O’ keep sweet Death at bay.”
Sweet child, frail and broken,
the last I saw of you was nothing but desperation.
The smile, the laughter that once filled my ears
has now gone, as have you, my dear.
My child, deceased; I have nothing to live for.
I refuse to shed these tears; no more will I suffer.
As I tread the path to the point of my demise
I pray to the Creator, blessed be His Name,
that when swift Death comes for you
He will have no mercy, mein Führer.
