Title: The Tiefling & the Gnome
Description: Once more on the set of 4th Edition...

As peoples around here may know, Ubbie is a D&D fan since years. This is, after all, a classic game, now about 30 years old; worlds of fantasy, of many genres... Action, mystery, drama, ,magic, etc....

And this year, in June, will come out the new - 4th - edition. And since a few months, controversies rage over nerd fire. WOTC is accused, often fairly and often not, 'to screw our beloved game'.

Now, myself, I admit that their PR and publicity strategy may need.. work.

And along this edge came the cartoons months ago. Made by a famous web artist and cartoonist, the cartoons (now only two but we are awaiting more....) have lifted some wind. Actually, the first one was pretty much a non-reaction-event much... But not the second.

Few cartoons over all my intrawebz years created as much debates and fanrage. Detractors screamed murder and outrage (especially gnomes fans (they do exist...?)) at WOTC, the appreciative side enjoy the dark and self-mocking humor.

So..... Lame or cool, funny or dumb, fail or win... watches and decides.

On a note, gnomes lovers... the 2-3 of you. (I'm a closet sympathiser. ;) )

They will be played out of the box, just a 'minor race' if you wish.. MM PC race option. And fleshened more in settings who have much gnomey bits, like FR and Eberron.

After all, Lantan and Zilargo, sans gnomes... It's like Canada without us quebies. ;)

Lots of good info up on EN World from the 4e Core books (not for sale but shipped).

QUOTE
Quote:
Gnomes. GNOMES. Gnomes are insane. Gnomes can *turn invis* once per encounter after they've taken dmg. They can also choose to roll "hide" instead of intialtive at the start of an encounter. Hello Gnome Rogue. And by "hello" I mean, "Please, for the love of god, stop stabbing me in the back." My friends quote was "Man, I hate gnomes! They're stupid! But now I can't stop picturing a pack of gnomes sitting in the trees doing the clicking noise that the Predators make in the alien movies. Stupid stealth gnomes. I'm going to have to play one."
