Title: Fooka
Description: A Naruto Shippuden ficcy <33

DemonChild=)D - March 17, 2008 10:35 PM (GMT)
YESSSS I FINALLY WROTE A NARUTO FICCY! *sings Hallelujah*

I DO NOT OWN ANY CHARACTERS FROM THE ANIME NARUTO. THEY BELONG TO THEIR RIGHTFUL OWNERS WHO I DO NOT KNOW. *tear*

BUT, I DO OWN ANY CHARACTERS I CREATED. SO STFU <3

WARNING: Contains a couple teeny spoilers for Shippuden but only for the anime cause I don't read the manga.

Authors Note:
This ficcy of mine takes place about a year after Gaara had the Shukaku taken out of him. (yah that's pretty much the only spoiler) I DON'T READ THE MANGA SO DON'T EXPECT ME TO KNOW ANYTHING THAT ISN'T IN THE ANIME YET. I like constructive criticism and stuff like that but no flames. While you are reading this you'll notice that I put the word "shinobi" a lot because I think it sounds effin rad compared to just "ninja". LOL

And if any of you are wondering, the title, it's just some word I made up when I was saving it on Microsoft Word because I couldn't think of a title for it. (and what do ya know, it stuck)

And btw, I called the stuff on Kankuro's face village markings cause I'm convinced that's what they are.

ENJOY MY FANGIRL RAMBLINGS!!!

Chapter 1

Sheiyumi sighed as she wiggled her pale toes in the sand. She had always hated sand, but somehow, in a twist of fate, she had come to live in a place filled to the brim with nothing but sand. That alone tempted to drive her mad at times. She hated the way that sand always found some way to get stuck her shoes and in her clothes, in her mouth and in her eyes. Sand - the one thing Sheiyumi hated above all - was sand.

Sheiyumi ran her fingers through her raven hair and glared with disgust at the sand between her toes. How the hell did I end up in a place like this? She glanced at the makeshift shack atop and hill of -obviously- sand that she and three others called home. Sheiyumi and the others spent their days wandering around the very outskirts of Sunagakure, looking for easy profit and making the occasional scam or steal. Sure, it wasn't an honest living, but at least it they were alive.

Three figures suddenly came into view as the wind swept away a sand dune. Finally, they're back. Sheiyumi rubbed the bothersome sand from her brown eyes as the three figures reached her.

"Hey! Shei, look what Naki snagged while we were in the village!" the tallest of the three - teenger with a mop of sandy brown hair atop his head - tossed a small bundle at Sheiyumi.

"Hey!" Sheiyumi snapped as she caught the bundle. "Don't go throwin' sh.it at me as when I'm not lookin'!"

"Watch your language Shei," reemed a deep voice. "You'll be in a load of trouble one day if you keep talking like that,"

"Oh, shut your trap, Uni. Who cares if I talk trash now and then? Or are we tryin to be civilized all of a sudden?" Sheiyumi laughed as she unwrapped the bundle.

Uni scowled at her responcse. He was an elderly man with graying black hair and and stony gray eyes. Uni was always scolding Sheiyumi because of her rough way of talking and tried to act like a wise old man - though he always failed terribly.

Sheiyumi's eyes sparkled deviously as she gazed at the contents of the bundle. "Bread!" she exclaimed. "Naki, how did you mangage to sneek this past that batty old man? It took me forever before I could get anything past him!" Sheiyumi smiled broadly at the frail fourteen-year-old who reminded Sheiyumi so much of her younger self.

Naki smiled awkwardly at Sheiyumi's praise. "I don't know. I just kind of... took it." She brushed her dark brown hair from her eyes as Shieyumi stood up from her seat in the sand.

"Well, Dae, I think that we've trained her well. Don't ya think?" Sheiyumi looked expectantly at the brown haired teen.

Sheiyumi and Dae had known each other since either of them could remember. They were raised together in the poorer parts of Sunagakure and when they were about fourteen they left the safety of Sunagakure to roam the desert. That was when they met Uni and then the young runaway, Naki. Now both Sheiyumi and Dae were sixteen.

"Yes, I do think we have done a fine job with her," Dae smiled as Sheiyumi gave a sceptical look at his way of speaking.

"Whatever, Dae. Anyway, I'm hungry so lets see what else you guys got today!"

Kankuro sighed irritably as he and a few other shinobi patrolled the outer streets of Sunagakure."Why am I on a shitty mission like this?" he muttered to himself as he looked down yet another empty dark alley.

"What was that Kankuro? You're dissapointed with this mission, is that it?" one of the shinobi grunted at him.

"More like pissed off. I'm a jounin. I shouldn't be on a stupid mission to catch a couple of misfits. I should be doing more important things than this.

The shinobi squinted at him. "Well for whatever reason, you shouldn't be griping at us, take it up with the Kazekage. He's the one assigning missions," a grumble of agreement passed through the other ninja.

Kankuro chuckled at the his words. "I can tell you one thing, Gaara is not the one assigning anyone's missions. the council is doing that," Kankuro didn't try even slightly to hide dislike for the council.

"The council?" a different shinobi asked in disbleif. "I thought that the Kazekage was responsible for assigning missions,"

"Originally, the Kazekage was respinsible for assigning missions, but now that Gaara has the position of Kazekage the council has suddenly taken that responsibily apon themsleves,"

The one who had spoken looked at him sceptically.

"Hey! We've caught up to them!" a shinobi exclaimed. "They're heading into the desert!"

~~~~~~~~~~
Naki and Uni sat on the sandy floor of the metal shack and as Sheiyumi rummaged through their goods. "Did you mangage to buy anything today?"
Uni shook his head gravely. "I offered to bargain with many merchants but none would take my offers. It seems that we are well-known in these parts,"
"That's nice," Sheiyumi said, not paying attention to the old man's words while she tore off a peice of bread and tossed it to Naki.
Suddenly, Dae burst through the entrance of the shack. "We've got company!" he said urgently.
"Company! You mean you were followed?" How careless can these idiots be?
"Yeah, a group of shinobi must have followed us back 'cause they're here now," as soon as Dae finished his sentence the shack collapsed on top of them. The flimsy metal wasn't heavy enough to injure them but the inital shock gave the pursuing shinobi enough time to dive into the ruins of the shack and restrain the four misfits.
Dae struggled with a young genin while Naki was pinned to the ground by a graying jounin and Uni willingly let himself be caputured by another genin.
Sh.it! Now that everyone else is caught I can't just leave! Sheiyumi thought franticly as she hadn't been restrained yet. I'm fast enough to get away on my own but how would they get away? Thoughts raced through Sheiyumi's mind in the split seconds before she was grabbed by another shinobi.
Sheiyumi's captor pressed a kunai to her neck and twisted her arm behind her back. "You're not gettin' away now," the shinobi muttered in her ear. Sheiyumi surpressed a grin as she mockingly struggled.
A jounin dressed in black stepped into the middle of the crowd of ninja. He had three large scrolls hitched on his back and village markings painted on his face. Sheiyumi had seen him before in her travels of Sunagakure. His name was Kankuro.
"So, it looks like we caught them. Good job guys." the Kanuro seemed genuinly bored as he praised his fellow shinobi. "So I guess we'll just lock 'em up now, huh?" he addressed the jounin pinning Naki.
"Well I suppose -"
"Don't think that we'll go so easily," Dae spat at the jounin in black.
"Oh really?" Kankuro turned to Dae. "And what makes you think that?"
Dae gave a meaningful look at Sheiyumi.
Stupid! Way to give me away you moron!
The Kankuro then turned to Sheiyumi. "So I guess you'll be the one to cause the trouble then, huh Sheiyumi?" he smirked. "I was wondering when you were gonna slip up and get yourself caught," he chuckled.
Sheiyumi narrowed her eyes at the arrogant jounin. Oh, how much she would love to knock his teeth out. She had met him twice before in Sunagakure, both times she had been alone. He had confronted her while she was trying to smooth-talk a merchant into giving her a good deal on some goods while at the same time, skillfully snatching other goods from under the merchant's nose, which happened to be Sheiyumi's specialty.
Suddenly, the sound of an explosion caught everyone's attention.
"Are they testing bombs? I heard that the council wanted to reaserch better bomb-making techniques," said a genin.
"It sounds like it, but lets check it out anyway," Kankuro started to walk in the direction of the explosion.
"What about us?" Dae burst out.
Kankuro smiled. "We'll bring you with us, what else?"
Did he really think that they would let us go?
The shinobi forced the four of them after Kankuro and they began to walk across the sand.
A large group of shinobi came into Sheiyumi's view. From where she could see, the shinobi were grouped around a spot where there was a medium-sized crater in the sand, probably the spot that they where setting off the bombs. Sheiyumi cound see members of the council in white toward the edge of the crowd of shinobi and further behind them Sheiyumi could see a lone figure. Because of the distance, Sheiyumi could barley tell one shinobi from another but she could clearly see the lone figure's red hair.
"The Kazekage is here!" Sheiyumi's captor gasped.
Kazekage? Sheiyumi had heard rumors about the Kazekage but she had never seen him before. I bet he's some old lazy gasbag. Sheiyumi snickered at the thought of all the shinobi in Sunagakure bowing down to a grounchy old geezer. The rumors she had heard was only he had saved Sunagakure from the Akats-something and that he was close with Leaf village, which wasn't much.
They were now at close range with the group of shinobi -who payed them no attention- and were heading toward the red-haired person and the council members. Now that they were closer, Sheiyumi could see that the red-haired person was dressed in the traditional Kazekage outfit. So that's the Kazekage...
Suddenly, a few of the shinobi surrounding the crater began shouting something. "Get ready!" one shouted. "We're gonna set it off!" Sheiyumi's captor turned to watch as one shinobi walked to the center of the crater and place what Sheiyumi expected to be a bomb in the sand before rushing back to the group of shinobi. Sheiyumi could sense the tension between the ranks of shinobi as one pressed a detonator butten. Every shinobi held their breath as they waited for the bomb to go off. They stood there for a good ten seonds before a shinobi shouted "It's a dud!"
Sheiyumi captor gasped. "A dud? Is it a failure?" She had her chance as her captor's hold on her was loosened. The shinobi barley had time to yell before Sheiyumi slipped out of his grasp and gracefully kicked him in the back of the head. The shinobi fell to the ground unconscious at Sheiyumi's feet. She knew that she had to get away from the crowd of shinobi as soon as possible if she was going to escape. Sheiyumi only hoped that her friends would find there way out as well.
Quickly springingaway from the unconscious shinobi, she landed lightly behind the Kazekage. Then a sudden boom shook the sand beneath her feet and the last thing she was astonished look on the Kankuro's face before she blacked out.
I like it!
I think you did a good job.
And the plot so far is pretty interesting.
Keep up- whatever you call it.. Updating?
Gasbag. xD
Kankuro's face marks are based on Kabuki actors' makeup. Not sure if they're supposed to be village markings.
Eh, I didn't read it, as I
a) am in a Neji-only mood.
b) am scared of OCs.
YAY COMMENTS!!
Thanky Loli-pop-chan.
@kaitlyn
I heard the Kankuro's face markings were related to some kind of actor-thing with puppets but if that's what they are then why is there other people with face markings too?
And
I made my story with OCs because it's impossible for me to make a Naruto ficcy without any because I pretty much hate everybody except Gaara and I need more than one person to make a decent fic.
And btw, if you're going to bother commenting on my fic, you should at least put the effort into reading it. It's not some annoying "OMG I <3 GAARA AND HE LOVES ME" fic because I hate fics like that.
If anyone cares; chapter two is probably comming tonight... sometime.
Gah. Here's an updatee Loli-pop-chan.
Chapter 2
Sheiyumi rubbed the sore spot on the back of her head. What the hell happened? Sheiyumi was laying flat on her back an covered in sand. Then Sheiyumi remembered the blast. A bomb must have gone off. Sheiyumi tried to stand up but was quickly brought back down to the sand by a dizzying sensation in her head. I must've hit my head pretty hard. Sheiyumi was suddenly aware that she was not alone.
Standing not far off was a lone person. His hair was a deep red and Sheiyumi felt a chill run down her spine as his stunning turquoise eyes met hers. Standing only about five feet to her right was the fifth Kazekage.
"What the hell do you want?" Sheiyumi snapped from her undignified seat in the sand.
"Are you injured?" the Kazekage asked.
"What? Why the hell do you care?" Sheiyumi retorted.
"As the Kazekage, it is my duty to protect all the inhabitants of Sunagakure," the Kazekage said bluntly.
Damn, that makes sense. "Whatever. Where am I anyway?" Sheiyumi suddenly realized the they were no longer on the outskirts of Sunagakure, but the middle of the desert.
"I am not completly sure of where exactly we are, but I can assume that we are a few miles from Sunagakure," the Kazekage's eyes shifted as he gazed toward the direction -that Sheiyumi assumed- was back to Sunagakure.
Jeez, how serious can you get? Sheiyumi had to admit that the Kazekage wasn't at all what she had expected. She had expected a some ugly old guy, not this striking young man before her, but that only showed how much she knew about Sunagakure.
Sheiyumi suddenly found the strength to stand and brushed the sand off of her clothes. Damn, I hate sand. She suddenly looked up at the Kazekage. "Wait, exactly how did I get here? A bomb went off, right? But that means I should be dead," Sheiyumi felt uneasy as the Kazekage turned his blue-green gaze to her once more.
"The bomb did go off, yes. So I put up a barrier with my sand to block the projectiles from the bomb, but unfourtunatley, my sand wasn't fast enough to block the blast of hot air from when the bomb was detonated. The hot air blasted us here,"
Sand? What the hell? "But I thought that the bomb that they set off was a dud,"
"The bomb didn't detonate when it was expected to, so everyone thought it was a failure, but something merely caused the bomb to detonate later than expected,"
Damn. Sheiyumi was wrong. The Kazekage wasn't and old man and he wasn't a striking young man, he was a creepy, boring, serious teenager with long, thought-out explanations. Which was even worse than her first assumption.
Sheiyumi narrowed her eyes as she tried to think of a response to the Kazekage's explanation. Damn it all, she felt like schoolgirl, asking questions with long, complicated answers. In the end all that Sheiyumi could think of to respond was "Hmph,"
Sheiyumi jerked her eyes away from the Kazekage's and turned away to look across the miles of sand that was the desert. This is just great. I'm stuck in the desert with some boring know-it-all of a Kazekage. Sheiyumi thought bitterly. How the hell am I gonna get back to the others? It'll be hell tryin' to spring them from wherever they're bein' kept. Or maybe they got away when that bomb went off. Even if they did get away, where are we gonna go after I find them again? We'll have to stay in Sunagakure for a while we figure things out... Sheiyumi was uncomfortably aware that the Kazekage was still looking at her.
"Are you just gonna stand there starin' at -" Sheiyumi turned around to find the Kazekage gone. "What the hell?" she whispered in confusion. "Where'd he go?" Sheiyumi turned a full circle before she spotted the Kazekage already far off in the distance. How'd he get all the way over there? "Hey!" Sheiyumi shouted angrily. "I'm talkin' to you!"
The Kazekage was either too far away to hear her or he was ignoring her. Either way, Sheiyumi was pissed. How dare he walk away from me without saying anything! Sheiyumi suddenly found herself wondering why she was so angry. What's wrong with me? Know that he's gone, I don't have to worry about being stuck in the desert with a creep like him! Sheiyumi suddenly felt as if a stone had dropped in her stomach. She was lost. She was stuck in the middle of the desert and now the only way she had to find her way back to Sunagakure was walking off into the distance. "Sh.it!" Sheiyumi screamed mentally and vocally.
Sheiyumi suddenly found herself running all-out across the desert after the figure that was the Kazekage. If I get lost, what the hell am I gonna do? Sheiyumi and Dae had journeyed through the desert for years, but wherever they went, they always had Sunagakure in view so they could always find their way back. But now, Sunagakure was no were in sight, and Sheiyumi was terrified of getting lost in the desert and never finding her way back to her friends. What would they all do without me? Sheiyumi pictured Dae, Naki, and Uni sitting on the floor of a cell and Dae saying "Well, what are we gonna do now?" and Naki responding with "Shei will come. She always gets us out of trouble." Sheiyumi frowned. Her friends would be lost without her.
The figure of the Kazekage was steadily growing larger as Sheiyumi ran farther across the desert after him. She gradually slowed her pace untill she came to a complete halt about twenty feet behind him. I don't have to travel with him I just have to be close enough to follow him. Sheiyumi took a deep breathe. She hadn't run that fast in a while. Latley, she had been spending her days slowly migrating from marketplace to marketplace with her friends. They were ususally never in a hurry because the patrols of shinobi around outer-Sunagakure were becoming less and less frequent. Time to get back into shape.
Sheiyumi had began to walk after the Kazekage when he halted abruptly. What is he - Sheiyumi's thought was interupted when the Kazekage turned sharply and looked straight at her. Sheiyumi automaticly froze as if acting on instinct. He wasn't just looking at her, he was looking through her. When their eyes had met before, Sheiyumi had felt as if he were looking through her but this time it was different. This time, he was looking at her as if to see every single intention and emotion. Sheiyumi felt as if he could see everything, her thoughts, her feelings, she felt truly exposed.
They stood there for what Sheiyumi felt like an eternity. A bead of sweat ran down her forehead and into one of her eyes but she dare not blink. She felt like she was a rabbit and he was a hawk, ready to dive down and crush her and she knew that he could see her fear. The expression in the Kazekage's eyes suddenly changed. It looked as if he was bothered by something. A flood of emotion rushed through Sheiyumi, though she couldn't identify what it was. It felt similar to simpathy, but not exactly the same.
The Kazekage began to slowly turn away and Sheiyumi was released from his gaze. That was fucking weird.
"So which way are we going?" Sheiyumi suddenly asked.
The Kazekage turned to look at her with a surprised look on his face. "West. Sunagakure is toward the West."
"Sweet," Sheiyumi rested her hands on her hips. "So, are we gonna go or what?" Without waiting for an answer, Sheiyumi pushed past the Kazekage and began to walk across the sand. Sheiyumi could sense the Kazekage's inquiring gaze. Damn, it's fun messing with people. Sheiyumi could sense that the Kazekage was wary of her, he kept his gaze on her at all times and she could tell that he was trying to guess her intentions. "I guess we have a ways to go, huh?" as far as Sheiyumi had traveled, Sunagakure was still no where in sight.
"A few miles," Sheiyumi sensed that the Kazekage was relaxing.
Sheiyumi didn't have to surpress her grin because she had her back to the Kazekage. She found it hilarious that a using the term "we" and a bit of small talk was all it took to get into people's heads. She felt guilty at times for decieving people but it was necessary if Sheiyumi was to be a successful theif. She just had to get the merchant talking and before long they would relax enough for her to discreetly smuggle whatever she had planned to steal.
The sun was beginning to set and Sheiyumi could feel a chill taking effect. "Sh.it," she said under her breath. It'll be night soon then it'll get really cold. Damn it all. The sand under Sheiyumi's feet began to slope downhill and she found herself standing on the edge of a huge gouge in the sand. The gouge must have been at least a mile wide and a half of a mile deep. ****. I'll have to go around and that'll take longer than if I could just go across. Plus, it's getting dark so I can't go any further today. This sucks ass. Sheiyumi shivered. Now I gotta find some way to make a fire or I'll freeze my ass off. Sheiyumi turned to the Kazekage. "So I guess we'll rest for the night," Sheiyumi was careful to use the term "we" to keep the Kazekage thinking that she was being friendly.
The Kazekage only nodded.
~~~~~~~~~~

"The Kazekage, where is he?"

"I don't know, but I'm sure he'll be back soon. We were all blasted in different directions by the hot air from when the bomb exploded. We're still waiting for at least twenty shinobi to turn up," Kankuro told a member of the council for at least the fifth time.

"How do you know that he wasn't abducted by one of the Akatsuki like he was before?" the coucil member gave Kankuro a sceptical look.

Kankuro had to force himself not to roll his eyes. "Because the Akatsuki have no use for Gaara now. They've already extracted the Shukaku so there's no reason for them take Gaara again,"

The council member seemed less than satisfied with Kankuro's answer. "What if he doesn't come back? Who will be Kazekage then?"

"Now just wait a second," Kankuro stepped forward so he was nose-to-nose with the council member. "Gaara will be back so don't even think about a new Kazekage. Got it?" Kankuro felt like decking the council member then and there just for even suggesting the thought of a new Kazekage.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sheiyumi looked grudgingly at the tiny fire before her. A dead bush and a stick was all she could find to make a fire. If she was lucky the fire would last at least a few minutes. Damn it. I guess all I can do is hope that it doesn't get so cold that I freeze to death. Sheiyumi thought as the small fire began to grow even smaller. She glanced over at the Kazekage who was seated cross-legged in the sand about five feet away. I wonder if he's got anything on him... Sheiyumi shook the thought out of her head. She hated that in the back of her mind she was always thinking about what valubles people had and what was the best way to steal them. Sheiyumi convinced herself that the years of stealing to survive that was to blame for her treacherous thinking.
Sheiyumi suddenly felt the strain of her day and felt her eyelids start to grow heavy. Oh well. I guess I shouldn't stay up thinking about meaningless sh.it. She yawned.
Whooa. Awesome plot.
Thought I agree with Kaitlyn, sometimes in a story OCs can get out of hand so be aware of that.
Awesome story either way.
Weird name.
DemonChild=)D - March 19, 2008 06:35 PM (GMT)
Oooh. So that's what Kaitlyn was trying to say. I thought she was just jumping me for having OCs. lol Sorry.
I'll be sure to keep my OCs under control. I try to make my fanfics seem - how do you say, realistic? I mean it try to make it seem that it would be possible for my fic to happen in the anime or whatever that I'm making my fanfic about if that makes any sense...
And what I meant about me hating everybody except Gaara came out wrong. I meant it's close to impossible for me to write a whole fic from the POV of a character created by another person so that's why I use OCs.
Yay! I have finally succeeded after many failed attempts in making an interesting plotline! *dances*
