Prologue
You were having the time of your life at your school. Life was finally going good for you, at least until you found out what was going to happen to you. You were pretty tall compared to the short girls of course; you were 5’ 6”. You had a slender body from all the sports you had played basically your whole life. There wasn’t a sport you didn’t like, if there was competition then you were all over it. You had long brown hair that was past your shoulders, and you had interesting eyes that seemed to change color with your mood. You had a sweet voice and you could sing extremely well, your mouth was perfect, just as every other feature you had, your parents were very proud.
This year at your school the guy of your dreams had finally noticed you. Things were going good and you couldn’t be happier, you didn’t once think that things could get so much worse so fast, but it happened. You and your friends always had the best time and at school and people knew nothing could break you apart. It was your junior year in High school and you were excited that it was more than half over. You were eager to get on with the rest of your life. You thought you could be normal, again you were dead wrong.
Your grades were awesome, you were a straight A student and you participated in as many extra-curricular activities as you could. You were working your butt off to get into a good college; you wouldn’t have tried so hard if you knew it would be for nothing. You weren’t a troubled child or anything but you usually had trouble sleeping, the doctor never prescribed you medication though, so you supposed it wasn’t that big of a deal, but your parents always made a fuss about it. You had no idea that you were destined for so much more than you thought, and what sucked is there was more responsibility, and it was so much more difficult. But you wouldn’t find out about it until tomorrow morning when you would hear your parents arguing.

I'm back and this is a story that i wrote a while ago, I've gotten pretty far in it and it's really good. i hope you all enjoy and I'll post chapter one when i get to at least 4 posts.
This sounds very interesting. I'm really curious about what's going to happen to this 'perfect' girl. Just one thing: try dividing this into different paragraphs (5 - 6 sentences in a paragraph.) It makes it a lot easier to read when things aren't bunched up.
Besides that, you're spelling and grammar and punctuation are very good. I wasn't going to read this because of the spacing, but since I saw that it was well written, I decided to. (I don't like reading things when they're bunched up because it's hard to follow and causes strain on my eyes.)
But I really the way this story is starting. So update soon and I'll read. ^.^
<_< oh my god. i'm sorry...i had it tabbed and stuff in my draft...and...i didnt know it was bunched up. so i'll put a space between each paragraph. sorry.
Chapter 1:
You woke up in the morning to your parents arguing…again. It seemed like they were arguing all the time now. You felt even more guilty too because the only thing they ever argued about was you. Since you woke up early this morning you decided to listen in on their conversation. However, the conversation you heard next you wished you had never known about.
“She’s too young!” You heard your mother cry out at your father.
He just replied grimly, “She has to leave today, tomorrow at the latest, its part of the promise I made Dracula.”
`Dracula…is…a vampire? What are they talking about? ` You wondered to yourself.
Their argument continued down in the kitchen. “Larry! I can’t let her go! She’s only 17, she hasn’t even finished school...how could you do this to her?” Your mom questioned your father and you could hear the tears in her voice.
Your father’s voice softened as he told your mom, “Heather… he was going to take my life, I couldn’t let myself leave Jesi fatherless and I love you too much to leave you. Even if it meant giving Jesi up to his son for marriage I would rather do that than leave the both of you alone while you were still pregnant. You two needed me.”
Heather was sobbing so loud you could hear it.
“Larry it’s too soon…” She kept protesting.
“They’ve been waiting 17 years…we’ll tell her today and she will leave tomorrow.” Larry notified your mom.
Your dad silenced the argument once he heard you weeping in your room. The next thing you knew they were both in your room standing on either side of you.
“Jesi honey, it has to be this way.” Your dad explained.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” You calmly asked through your tears.
Your mom cut in and told you, “We didn’t want you to live knowing what would become of you.”
You took a deep breath and continued your inquiry, “Can you explain what is going to happen now?”
Your dad nodded his head and began, “We’ve been informing them of your progress in school and life, your personality, and we sent pictures every year. This has been going on since you were born. The way this all started was one day when I was coming home from work, I wanted to get hoe faster to see your mother, and she was 7 months pregnant with you. I took a short cut through an alleyway and ran into Dracula the vampire. I begged him to spare my life and he agreed under the one condition I would send you to his home to wed his son when he called for you. A few days ago I got the letter telling me to send you away.” Tears were now glistening in your father’s eyes as he finished, “Making that agreement was the hardest decision I have ever had to make in my entire life. I’m so sorry.” Tears were running down you and your mother’s face now as your father finished his explanation at your request.
“So I’m leaving tomorrow…to marry someone I don’t even know…and they’re all…oh my god…they’re all…VAMPIRES!?” You just realized the seriousness of the situation and you were filled with terror.
Unable to control yourself you jumped up off your bed as your dad nodded his head at your assumptions. You realized you were expected to marry a man you don’t’ know, and he’s a vampire. You, mortal, him, vampire (immortal), how does that work? Through your panic you never realized you were pacing back and forth, mumbling strange things to yourself. `How can they expect me to go through with this…? ` You asked yourself in the privacy of your own thoughts, but then realized that you could be difficult. `I’m sure I won’t even like him. Why you may ask, because I won’t let myself. I’m so mad at the situation I’ll take it out on him. This could work…as long as he doesn’t eat me…`
Your mom wrapped her arms around you, and your dad joined in the hug as you finished your crying fit.
“You should pack your bags honey.” Your dad told you while you all shared a big hug. You glanced over to your mom and she nodded her head, agreeing with your dad.
With that said, they left you alone in your room to decide on the meager supply of belongings you could take with you. You didn’t think it was possible to feel any lower than you already did, so, you didn’t pack that much. Although you only packed a couple things you made sure it took a couple hours. You packed some of your favorite clothes, basically just ones your family had given you for holidays like your birthday or Christmas. You spent the rest of the day saying goodbye to your friends. You didn’t tell any of them why you had to leave, not even your best friend Jasmine because you knew they wouldn’t understand.
You made damn sure you had a picture of ALL you and your friends together; you had about 6 close friends. The picture was supposed to help you be less lonely while you were there because you were definitely taking the picture with you. Your parents had a cell phone for you to take with you so you could call anyone whenever you needed to, but you knew you probably wouldn’t use it since calls cost money and you didn’t want to penalize your parents any further.
You held back your tears while you were with your friends because you didn’t want to be sad while you were with them, you’d rather have a good time than make everyone sad for you. The place you all went was to the park, it was relaxing there and the scenery was beautiful. Your friends decided that everyone should party for you and have a good time. Most of your friends were swimming in the lake except for you and Jasmine.
You sat up on a rock above the waterline with Jasmine and just talked about old times and reflected on what might happen.
Jasmine had brown naturally curly hair and was kind of short, maybe 3 inches shorter than you so she wasn’t that small. She was skinny and very pretty. You two had far different clothing styles she had lively green eyes that seemed to hide something but you never thought anything of it because she was your best friends and there were no secrets between you two. Nonetheless now there was going to have to be one. You couldn’t tell her about where you were going and what would happen and that made you wonder if she was forced to keep a secret like the one you did.
“I can’t believe you’re leaving! I’m going to miss you so much Jesi… I don’t know what I’ll do without you.” Jasmine moped.
“Take care of Joey for me!” You joked. Joey was your all time crush at school and you and Jasmine always had the best time joking around about him and how you two would get married, you knew it probably wouldn’t happen but it was fun to talk about.
Jasmine laughed half-heartedly at your attempt to brighten the mood. “Seriously Jesi, you’re leaving and you might not come back.”
“Don’t remind me…” You requested solemnly.
Both of you sighed at the same time and laughed a bit.
“Seriously though take care of Joey for me.” You laughed again.
“Yeah, I’ll take VERY good care of him.” She winked at you as she emphasized the very in that sentence.
You glared at her and she knew what you meant. You knew she was just playing around though so you let it go. “So, time to go swimming?” You suggested.
You stood up waiting for her reply and she shook her head declining the offer. She followed your movement and stood up also after she let you know she didn’t want to go swimming. You smirked evilly at her and pushed her in. She didn’t get hurt because the rock was like a rock people jump off of and the water was deep and calm.
Jasmine’s head broke the surface and she yelled, “Now you’re gonna get it!!” She climbed back up the rock and jumped on you knocking you both into the water.
The rest of the day consisted mostly of laughs but once you got home the sorrow took over again. Every time you got sad you’d just remember something fun that happened earlier. You knew it would be a memory that would last forever in you mind. Sleep didn’t come easy for you, but then again when did it?
You woke up this time not to your parents arguing, but to a car honking in the driveway. You knew this meant goodbye to your family and the life you had known, but showed no signs of being upset about it, you knew it would just make things harder for your parents. Regardless, you walked downstairs like you were walking to your death, and you felt like you were because they’re kind of vampires and they eat people, and you’re kind of a PERSON. Once your mom started crying again you knew you’d have to be strong and hold back the emotions. You smiled brightly at your mom and dad and you said your goodbyes as you took your suitcases outside to pack in the car.
Yea about the car comment, scratch that, there was a limo. Yeah you heard it, limo. Your spirits were lifted knowing that you’d at least have a few luxuries. Leaned up against the door was the most gorgeous man you had EVER seen. You didn’t think it was even possible for someone to be as gorgeous as him. He was tall and had dark hair; he had a muscular build and a natural looking tan. He had an amazingly handsome face that made him look like an angel. He was all around handsome and the jeans he was wearing, yeah let’s just say it looked like he was born to wear them.
You sucked in air but you found yourself gasping. He pulled the oxygen right out of your lungs. His brow furrowed at the trouble you were having doing something as simple as breathing. Next thing you knew he was right in front of you and he took your suitcases without a word. As he was leaned down beside you, you couldn’t help but to look into his deep green eyes, just like Jasmine’s they seemed to hold many secrets. Although unlike Jasmine you didn’t trust him in the least bit. Finally you found your body and remembered how to use your lungs, and approached the limo cautiously expecting it to disappear and turn into a crappy looking car. Once you figured out it wasn’t a hallucination you stepped inside and sat down on the perfect comfy leather seats.
BOOM! The trunk slammed shut and the man followed you into the limo. He sat right in front of you, and the way the seats were designed you were facing each other. You tried your best not to stare at him but he was so good-looking that it was really hard not to.
Not even minutes into the trip you were sick of him and wanted to go home.
He noticed you were staring at him and began ordering you around like he owned you, “Stop looking at me, it’s weird.”
`What did he just say to me? I feel so offended- ...Wait… HA! I don’t like him, so why would I care how rude he is to me? I don’t, so he can say whatever he wants and see if I care. I’ll just be rude back. ` You just rolled your eyes at him and turned your attention to the scenery outside the window.
You fell asleep for the rest of the ride. You were very rudely awakened by that smart-ass guy. He grabbed your wrist and basically pulled you out of the limo.
Right when you two had both stepped out, he pushed you up against the door, pushing his body on yours and whispered in your ear, “Don’t ever roll your eyes at me again.”
You could hardly breathe and the best response you could give was nodding your head at him. As soon as he released you, you realized what you just did.
`Why did I give in so easy? He doesn’t own me! And wait what the hell? How could he remember that I rolled my eyes at him after like, a ten-hour drive? Did it upset him that much? Hm, I guess so. I’ll have to remember that. Awesome! `
He glanced over at you and you wiped the evil smile you had on your face off once you noticed he could ask you what you were thinking and you’d have to listen to him talk some more. You sighed knowing that it would most likely be a very long day. Although right now, you cared more about figuring out ways to make this guy feel as miserable as he was making you. You let out a small chuckle at your evil thoughts and you heard him huff a little and mutter something to himself. You frowned because you knew it was most likely about you and derogatory.
You hadn’t even noticed the giant mansion in front of you, and before you knew where you were going, you ran into the doors and fell to the ground flat on your butt. Part of you expected him to help you up, but you knew that wasn’t even going to happen when you heard him start laughing at you hysterically. You felt stupid and embarrassed and were about to cry, when a man older than the jerk who was laughing at you opened the doors. You looked up and saw a man probably in his late 30’s with sleeked back dark-colored hair. He was slightly taller than the jerk who was STILL laughing at you and he wore a fancy black shirt with black pants and shiny black shoes, his skin was really pale. You guessed that he was Dracula.
“What are you doing Chad? Why are you laughing so hard?” Dracula asked the other guy.
You stood up after Dracula finished speaking and brushed yourself off.
“Dad, you should have seen it! She ran RIGHT into the doors. It was SO funny! She’s such an idiot; I can’t believe that you expect me to marry that stupid thing.” Chad answered between laughs.
You glared up at Chad and slapped him so hard that his neck cracked. “I’m NOT an idiot!” You screamed in his face as you ran blindly into the mansion to get away from him.
You ran up the first stairs you came across and into the tenth door you saw through your fury and sadness. You were totally distraught that you were supposed to marry that monster, before you had hope that he would at least be nice, now that hope was dead.
All of your anger and distress vanished and was replaced with revelation as you noticed you weren’t the only one in the room. You pretended like you didn’t see him and you went straight to the bathroom and burst into tears. You didn’t really have to pretend because you didn’t really see what he looked like, only that he was there. He was just sitting on the couch reading a book when you stormed into his room like you were desperately trying to run from your death.
You expected him to be as awful as Chad, but to your surprise, he wasn’t. “Are you okay? What’s the matter?” He asked through the door. You found it surprising that he didn’t freak out and start asking questions like ‘Who are you?’ or tell you to get out, shut up, and/or leave him alone.
You were stunned that he was acting like he cared, so you unlocked the door and came out and sat on the couch, and he did sat down next to you. You sniffled before answering, “I’m supposed to be marrying this jerk that I don’t even know, and he’s horrible, he calls me names and acts like he owns me, I wish he would die.”
You didn’t even look at him but you suspected he would have a scared expression. He asked, “How do you know that he’s horrible if you don’t know him all the way?”
He did have a point, but you didn’t care about the long-term, just the right now. “It doesn’t matter… I wish I could go home.”
“You mean you had to leave your home to come all the way here?” He questioned you trying to fully understand the situation.
“Yes…” You confirmed his assumption.
“So you must be Jesi?” He asked, again trying to gather more information.
You were too upset to speak so you just nodded your head and let the silent tears flow down your cheeks.
He smiled warmly at you and told you, “You’re SO much prettier in person than in the pictures I saw. By the way, you looked gorgeous.” He gave you a wink.
You felt yourself blush at his compliment, like a lot. Secretly you thought he was hotter than hell, you were just too upset to notice, but now that you were feeling better you paid more attention. He had blonde hair in an emo style. He had a perfectly built body and a slight tan. He had a sweet handsome face with a chiseled jaw and perfectly sculpted lips that you wanted to plant your mouth on. His eyebrows gave him a naturally soft expression that made you feel like you could trust him. Not only did he have looks but his style ROCKED too! He was wearing tight black jeans with silver chains hanging from the side and a perfect fit T-shirt that you could just see the outline of his six-pack. His best feature was his eyes. They were a beautiful dark blue color and you felt like you could get lost in them forever. As you were checking him out, you saw him quirk an eyebrow out of the corner of your eye, he laughed a little bit and smiled seductively at you.
“Are you checking me out?” He asked you almost in a whisper.
You laughed nervously and quickly turned your head away from him to try and hide your blush, but to no avail. You replied with a shy, “No.”
He grabbed your face gently and made you face him and his face turned a slight pink at your red face. Your breathing had quickened and for some odd reason, you wanted to kiss him, really, really bad. You knew it would be a bad idea though, so you reluctantly pulled away from his grip when he started leaning towards you ever so slightly. Both of you seemed to snap out of it and you began talking and asking questions so you could get to know him.
As you began talking you had moved from sitting together on the couch and you were now both sitting next to each other on the bed. You found out that his name is Rizu. He was just as old as you, 17, and he was Chad’s younger brother. You also found out some stuff about Chad, such as he’s 19, isn’t very social, and has been known for getting any girl he wants. Hearing about Chad made you kind of sad, so Rizu started tickling you on your sides. Without delay you started screaming and laughing. Once you gained a bit of control you struggled against Rizu and managed to get on top of him and started tickling him, turning the tables around. You were happy and Rizu was laughing so hard he could barely breathe. When you were too tired to keep tickling him, you laid down next to him on his bed where you two had your tickle fight. Both of you were tired from wrestling around and laughing so hard that you were breathing heavy, laying next to each other slightly sweating. Tickling and being tickled was more of a work-out than you would think.
All of a sudden Chad burst into the room with no warning at all, and saw you and Rizu laying down together, breathing heavy and sweating. Let’s just say it looked bad. With a dark look on his face, Chad turned around and left as soon as he saw you. Rizu looked over at you and you both shared the same expression. Rizu got up and ran after Chad and you were left alone, sitting thereon the bed. You felt guilty about what Chad was thinking, but you knew he didn’t care about you and probably never would because you almost certainly weren’t good enough for him.
You fell asleep after you had some negative thoughts and you woke up, still in Rizu’s bed and you felt strong arms holding you. You looked up into Rizu’s handsome face that you just loved.
While you were in dreamland examining his face, he woke up and greeted you, “Hey, morning sunshine.” He was smiling at you, and you wished to yourself that you could marry Rizu instead of Chad.
You knew Chad didn’t care, and you thought he was probably incapable of those types of feelings. Regardless, you knew you couldn’t give up on something that hadn’t even started.
“Erm… we didn’t do anything did we?” You asked nervously, just wanting to start a conversation with him.
“No, we didn’t” He reassured you.
“Darn.” You joked. Both of you laughed, but a small piece of you were serious, and a tiny glint in Rizu’s eye showed you he thought the same.
Your thoughts once again diverted to Chad, “Rizu, do you think Chad will ever care for me?” You questioned with a bewildered tone.
Rizu said nothing that you didn’t already know, “I don’t know.” You could tell he was struggling not to tell you something.
Ignoring your curiosity, you sent the thoughts to the back of your mind and snuggled up into Rizu’s warm chest.
Rizu whispered something to you before you fell asleep. The last thing you heard was, “I don’t think Chad can ever care about you the way I already do.” Then he kissed your forehead as he held you in s arms. Right as you felt his lips touch you, you fell asleep.
There were feelings brewing inside you, and you knew it. Rizu had looks that could kill, and he was sweet and funny also. He seemed like a perfect man. Inside, you knew that you’d have to let go of Rizu and marry Chad, but the thoughts of being with someone as cold as Chad almost made you sick.
A couple hours later you woke up again and smelled food. Your stomach growled, and you wrinkled your nose at the unappealing noise. It didn’t take much convincing for you to start walking down to where the food was. When you arrived at the kitchen, what you saw made you wish you hadn’t.
i think i separated the paragraphs right?
