This is a Kingdom Hearts fanfic I did a couple moths back. It's a one shot based around my favorite KH pairing: KairixRiku. I dunno why I like that pairing (I despise Riku). It takes place durring KH1 while Riku is working with Maleficent.

Riku found himself in a dark hallway. Its smooth black walls stretched in both directions for eternity. There was the sound of water dripping on stone, t6hough there was no water in sight. Looking down he noticed that there was water, black water, and it was slowly flooding the hallway.
A sense of urgency gripped Riku. He suddenly knew that there was someone or something was waiting for him at the end of the eternal hallway and he ran. As he ran, it became clear that it was a person, an important person waiting for him.
The farther he went the deeper the water got. Soon he was wading through it. His clothes became heavy with water and pulled him down, but he didn’t dare stop.
“Riku!” A girl’s voice echoed down the black hall. Riku redoubled his efforts and ran on. The voice called his name several times, always sounding farther away than the last. Finally, after what seamed like a lifetime, a faint light showed in the distance. It looked as though it came from a flickering flame being held in a storm, though by some miracle still able to survive. As he got closer he could see the figure of a young girl with short hair. She was holding a small candle close to her chest in both hands and appeared to be standing on the water. Ripples radiated from her feet or perhaps they were from the tears she was crying. Every now and then tears would land on the candle causing it to sputter.
“Kairi!” Riku yelled trying to get to her. The water was up to his chest and kept pushing him back with small forceful waves.
“Riku…” Kairi said his name mournfully. Riku stopped fighting the water and just stood there, “Turn around while you can.” She pleaded her voice cracking. She turned her back to Riku and, still on the water, she began to walk away. Just before she went out of sight she turned back to Riku, “Please, I love you…” and then she was gone. As she left so did the waves holding Riku back. He ran forward calling for the girl who was no longer there.
